Leota F. Payne
Leota F. Payne, 87, of Gravette, died Monday, July 28, 2003, at Gravette Medical Center Hospital. She was born Aug. 31, 1915, in Copan, Okla., to Joseph Jesse and Minnie West O'Neal.
She married John Nathan Payne on July 27, 1931, in Copan. The couple moved to the Gravette area in 1931 from Copan.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Hiwasse, the Nazarene Church Quilting Club and Hiwasse Extension Homemakers Club. She was an avid reader through the audio book club, and enjoyed quilting and sewing.
Survivors include six sons and five daughters-in-law, James L. and Iladel Payne of Petersburg, Va., Donald and Nancy Payne of Bentonville, "Bill" and Clara Payne of Gravette, Richard and Janet Payne of Vinita, Okla., David and Edith Payne of Wichita, Kan., and Delbert Payne of Rogers; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sue Rice, Elizabeth and Lanny Garrett, all of Gravette, Nelma and Paul Tate of Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, Delbert O'Neal of Bartlesville, Okla.; 24 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 31, at Callison-Lough Funeral Service of Gravette. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at Church of the Nazarene in Hiwasse with Larry Weihe officiating. Burial was at Bentonville cemetery.
Pallbearers were Daniel Payne, Steven Payne, Hal Cummins, John N. Payne, Randy Buckner, Donnie Lee Payne, Charles Garrett and Jeff Williams.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 212 Natural Resources Drive, Little Rock, Ark. (72205).

Patricia Lorraine Moffett Shriver
Patricia Lorraine Moffett Shriver, 58, of Bentonville, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003, at her home. She was born Jan. 2, 1945, in Estherville, Iowa, to Dale Leslie and Lorraine Oddson Moffett.
She graduated from Estherville High School in 1963, and from Omaha School of Business in Omaha, Neb. She worked for many years for the Home Federal Savings and Loan in Spencer, Iowa.
She attended Hiwasse Christian Church in Hiwasse.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dale Moffett; and a sister, Ann Smith Wenzel.
Survivors include her husband of 29 years, Richard "Rich" Shriver; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Dennis Shriver, of Liberal, Kan., Dale Shriver of Bentonville, Michael and Charlene Shriver of Calumet, Iowa, Mark and Deborah Shriver of Sutherland, Iowa; her mother, Lorraine Moffett Smith and her husband, Linus Smith, of Jackson, Minn.; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Lonnie Moffett of Welcome, Minn., Dennis and Leann Moffett of Dunnell, Minn., Allan and Sandi Moffett of Taylor, Mo., Michael and Bobetta Smith of Jackson, Minn.; a sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Jim Barnhart of Wheaton, Ill.; 12 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, at Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, at Hiwasse Christian Church with the Rev. Mark Golaway officiating. Burial will be in Bella Vista cemetery in Bella Vista.
Memorials may be made to the Benton County Women's Shelter, P.O. Box 572, Bentonville, Ark. (72712); or to St. Mary's Hospice, 1200 W. Walnut St., Rogers, Ark. (72756).

John Robert Simmons
John Robert Simmons, 67, of Oxnard, Calif., and formerly of Bella Vista, died Sunday, July 27, 2003. He was born Feb. 27, 1936, in Quitman, Calif., to George Manning Simmons and Ruby Ellen Cantrell Quinn.
He was a member of Dove Christian Center in Oxnard.
A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, at Roller-McNutt Chapel in Greenbrier, with Steve Stephens officiating. Burial was in Copperas Springs cemetery in Guy.
Honorary pallbearers were Russell Tubbs, Lynn Tubbs, Donnie Green, Buddy Bateman, Gene Eggman II and Gene Eggman III.

Margaret G. Varner
Margaret G. Varner, 73, of Bella Vista, died Monday, July 28, 2003, at her home. She was born Oct. 19, 1929, in Las Vegas, N.M., to Roy R. and Maude M. St. Clair Henderson.
She moved to Bella Vista in 1979 from Grandview, Mo. She was a graduate of the University of Arkansas.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Bella Vista and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby L. Varner, on Jan. 8, 1991; and a brother. Survivors include a brother-in-law, Charlie Varner of Dayton.
Visitation was from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 31, at the Bella Vista Funeral Home chapel. Graveside funeral services were at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at Dayton (Ark.) cemetery.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 20 Boyce Drive, Bella Vista, Ark. (72714).

Fay M. Weimer
Fay M. Weimer, 82, of Seligman, Mo., died Friday, Aug. 1, 2003, at his home. He was born Nov. 10, 1920, in Larue, to Lee L. and Ethel Edens Weimer.
He worked in quality control for Crane Co. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Garfield.
He was preceded in death by two wives, Cordelia V. Weimer and Lula Canfield Weimer; and a grandson, Chris Burrell.
Survivors include his fiancee, Joyce Goldsmith of Seligman; two daughters, Linda Burrell of Lowell and Sherry Slinkard of Rogers; a stepdaughter, Ambolene Juel of Seligman; a stepson, Ronald Robinette of Gateway; two sisters, Bernice Woodcock of Rogers and Reba Ash of Odessa, Texas; a brother, Wayne Weimer of Brightwater; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation was from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4, at Benton County Funeral Home of Rogers. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, at First Baptist Church of Garfield, with the Rev. Al Hollingsworth and the Rev. Benny Thompson officiating. Burial was at Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers, with military honors provided by Bella Vista Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9063.
Pallbearers were Justin Slinkard, Rusty Slinkard, Rick Burrell, Chad Burrell, Mike Burrell and Derrick Christopher Burrell.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, in care of Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. Fourth St., Rogers, Ark. (72756).

Bob Wilkerson
Bob Wilkerson, 78, of Gravette, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003, at Gravette Medical Center Hospital. He was born Jan. 16, 1925, in Gravette to Clarence Leroy Sr. and Virginia Mae Oglesby Wilkerson.
He was raised in Gravette and graduated from Gravette High School in 1943. He attended the Kansas City Art Institute and became an accomplished artist. He particularly enjoyed painting landscapes.
He served in both the Merchant Marines and the U.S. Navy, then returned to live in Gravette. He married Betty Jo Saladin in 1948.
He worked as a carpenter and painter in the Gravette area, and served in Gravette United Methodist Church for more than 50 years.
He was preceded in death by a brother, A.B. Wilkerson.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Betty Wilkerson; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Mike and Melanie Wilkerson of Danridge, Tenn., and Doug Wilkerson of Tulsa, Okla.; four daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Lynn Kelley of Springfield, Mo., Jan and Forrest Rogers of Tulsa, Teresa and Rick Hughes of Broken Arrow, Okla., Missy and Ron Hall of Gravette; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation was from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4, at Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory of Bella Vista. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, at Gravette United Methodist Church with teh Rev. David Williams officiating. Burial was at Hillcrest cemetery in Gravette.
Memorials may be made to Gravette United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 37, Gravette, Ark. (72736).

Raymond Darrell Dentis
Raymond Darrell Dentis, 68, of Gravette, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born Oct. 10, 1934, in Lindsey, Okla., to Everett M. and Emma Pearl Ash Dentis.
He was raised and educated in Oklahoma. He served in the U.S. Army in 1956.
He married Hazel Wood on May 8, 1961, in Tulsa, Okla. The couple lived in Oklahoma and he worked as a truck driver.
In 1974, he became a minister and served as pastor at Maysville Missionary Baptist Church in Maysville; Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Hiwasse; and Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs, where he was pastor at the time of his death.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Dentis; two sisters, Wanda Mae Dentis and Doris Jean Dentis; and a granddaughter, Kerri Parks.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Dentis; two sons and daughters-in-law, Darrell and Vita Dentis of Rogers, Carl and Terri Tatman of St. Joseph, Ill.; a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Tim Markgraf of Bentonville; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Bobby Dentis, Everett Jr. and Sue Dentis, and James Dentis, all of Tulsa, Okla.; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Donna Faye Lockhart, Oletha and Louis Masterson, Joyce and Gene Beasley, all of Tulsa, Beverly Williams of Blackwell, Okla., Janet and James Warren of Wagner, Okla.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Jack L. Klick
Jack L. Klick, 73, of Overland Park, Kan., and formerly of Bella Vista, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2003. He was born May 28, 1930, on the farm that his grandfather homesteaded southwest of Cherokee, Okla., to Merle and Delores Herren Klick.
He attended school in Lambert, Okla., graduating in 1948. He was active in farming and sports, and was president of his high school senior class.
He graduated from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in 1954 after spending two years with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He earned a master of science degree in education from Fort Hays (Kan.) State University in 1957.
He taught and coached in western Kansas from 1954 to 1957. He worked in school administration from 1958 to 1962.
He began a long career in textbook sales with Allyn and Bacon in 1962. He retired in 1990, having received many achievement awards.
He was a member of Friends Church in Cherokee, Okla.
He retired to Bella Vista, where he attended Judson American Baptist Church. He was active in the American Legion, serving as commander and in other offices.
He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Merle Jean Murrow.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Klick; two sons, Jeff Klick of Helena, Okla., and Preston Klick of Manhattan, Kan.; a stepson, Andrew Lash of Pine, Colo.; a stepdaughter, Elizabeth Shipley of Overland Park, Kan.; and five grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, in care of Goodwin Funeral Home, 106 W. Second St., Cherokee, Okla. (73728).

Lillian J. Koch
Lillian J. Koch, 92, of Bentonville, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, at Concordia Care Center in Bella Vista. She was born Oct. 30, 1910, in Sharpsburg, Pa., to Oliver and Sara Harr Butler.
She had lived in Benton County since 1980, moving from Hacienda Heights, Calif. She retired as a factory worker for a toy manufacturer.
She was a Lutheran. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and raising cattle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Koch; a son, Ronald Adams; a daughter, Dolores Fleck; 12 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include two daughters, Audrey Eichenlaub and Betty Sass, both of Bentonville; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
There will be no services.
Cremation arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Service of Bentonville.
