MARIE TROUT

Marie Trout, 67, of Little Rock, a Veteran of the United States Air Force, and a retired secretary with the Arkansas School for the Deaf, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2002.

She was a member of Park Place Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents C. H. and Nettie Lankford; brothers Dean and Curtis Lankford; and sister Joy Rives.

Surviving are her husband of 46 years Billy Trout; two daughters Sandra Manning and her husband Wayne of Alexander and Beverly Shelton of Little Rock; grandchildren Jeff Warner and wife Kindra, Melissa Pledger, Cindy Warner and Billy Ray Borden; five sisters Mallie Sledge, Pat Cox and husband Wayne, Jeanette Capehart and husband Howard, Mary Lou Sneed, Janie Kitchens and husband Wesley, and Lavon Hutcheson; three brothers Douglas Lankford and wife Greta, Roy Lankford and C. H. "Runt" Lankford and wife Terri; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral was Thursday, Sept. 12, at Park Place Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Lambright officiating. Burial was at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Park Place Baptist Church, 5630 Mabelvale Pike, Little Rock.

ELBERT MONROE FLOYD

Elbert Monroe Floyd, 76, of Bryant, and oiler for 36 years at Alcoa, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2002.

He was born to the late Thomas Newport Floyd and Minnie Elizabeth Floyd on April 21, 1926, in Saline County. He was a World War II Army Veteran, former member of the Pickett Hunting Club and a member of Holland Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his brother Donald Floyd and his sister Lyda Burks.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years Billie Jean (Lewallen) Floyd of Bryant; son and daughter-in-law Greg and Janet Floyd of Little Rock; grandson Jackson Floyd; granddaughter Kim Wilson and husband Larry; and a great-granddaughter Jessica Wilson.

Funeral was Thursday, Sept. 12, at the Ashby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Harrell officiating. Burial was at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Arrangements were by Ashby Funeral Home of Benton. Memorials can be made to the Baptist Hospice.

REV. AARON M. CARTER SR.

Rev. Aaron M. Carter, Sr., 71, of Little Rock, a pastor of several Southern Baptist Churches in and around the Little Rock area for over 40 years, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2002.

He served as a member of the Executive Board of the Pulaski Baptist Association and also served on several other association committees that were dear to his heart. He was a member of West Star Lodge No. 2 - Free and Accepted Masons, and was a Shriner.

He was preceded in death by his parents Rufus and Mary Carter and two sisters Betty Wirges and Fae George.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years Betty J. Carter; two daughters Diane Atwood and husband Melvin of Alexander and Sharon Vaughn and husband Mark of Lapine, Ala.; a son Aaron M. Carter Jr., and wife Ferry of Little Rock; a son of his choice Michael Pearson and wife Pat of Redfield; a sister Annette Turpen and her husband Dick of Little Rock; five grandchildren Kimberly Lilly and husband Tim of Maumelle, Brian of Little Rock, Kelly Cooley and husband Jim of Montgomery, Ala., Shannon Edds and husband Mark of Maumelle, and Aaron M. Carter III of Little Rock; and four great grandchildren Zachary Lilly of Maumelle, Ashlyn, Sarah, and Carter Cooley of Montgomery, Ala.

A gathering in remembrance was held Wednesday, Sept. 11, in the Chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, Little Rock, with Bro. Odis Chapman and Bro. Michael Pearson officiating. Burial was at Pinecrest Memorial Park with military honors.

W. E. "BILL" EDERINGTON

W.E. "Bill" Ederington, 82, of Alexander, died Sept. 4, 2002.

He was preceded in death by parents W. E. and Mattie Ederington; and a son Louis Ederington.

Surviving are a son Bill Ederington of Bismarck; daughter Sharon Cranford and her husband Ricky of Bryant; four grandchildren; and a sister Jean Romaine of California.

Funeral was Saturday, Sept. 8, at Huson Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Butler cemetery.

JEWELL MAY KRUSE
Jewell May Kruse, 81, of Alexander, a former co-owner of Kruse Meat Products, Inc. died early Thursday morning, April 10, 2003 at Saline Memorial Hospital.
She was born to the late Clarence and Clemmie Davenport on May 2, 1921. She was a homemaker and a member of Holland Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband George Alvin Kruse and a great-grandson Canaan Campbell.
Surviving are her two daughters Edith Janette Green and Clara Jeanne Hutchison and husband Ronnie Joe; four grandchildren Artie Green, Renee Campbell, Tracie Rich and Joey Hutchison; and seven great-grandchildren Tyler Green, Brody Rich, Kruse Rich, Bethany Hutchison, Colton Campbell, Camille Campbell, Cayla Campbell and one future great-granddaughter Baylee Hutchison. She also had a very special friend Evelyn Littlejohn.
Funeral services, by Ashby Funeral Home, were Saturday, April 12, at New Life Baptist Church on Kruse Loop with burial at Pinecrest Memorial Park. The minister was Bro. Michael Overton.

JOHN BRADLEY CUNNINGHAM
John Bradley Cunningham, 80, of Little Rock, died April 10, 2003, as a result of an automobile accident near Sallisaw, Okla.
He was born April 13, 1922, in Little Rock, the son of John B. and Lora E. Morris Cunningham. He was a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and was a volunteer driver for the church, providing transportation for the Deaf Ministry and church members living at Good Shepherd retirement center.
A Navy veteran of World War II, he was an avid golfer and member of the Central Arkansas Pro-Am Golf Association, and was scheduled to be honored as a Lifetime Member of the Hindman Men’s Golf Association. He retired in 1984 from the Missouri Pacific and Union Pacific Railroads.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Reba Jean Sebourn Cunningham, and one brother, Morris L. Cunningham.
Surviving are four children and their spouses, Brad and Carol Cunningham of Little Rock, Bruce and Donna Cunningham of Atlanta, Ga., Doug and Peggy Cunningham of Bryant, and Tim and Jan Cunningham of Conway; two brothers, Wallace B. Cunningham of Little Rock and Lawrence E. Cunningham of Memphis, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A gathering in remembrance was held Monday, April 14, at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Carroll Koon officiating. Burial was at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Arrangements were by Griffin-Leggett Healey and Roth. The family requests memorials be made to Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 5300 Stagecoach Road, Little Rock, 72204.

Willa Jordan

January 16, 1945 - May 27, 2013
Willa Jordan went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 27, 2013. She was born January 16, 1945 to the late Thomas and Effie Lee. She was preceded in death by her daughter Renae Jordan, husband Leroy, mother, Effie Lee, and father, Tommy Lee. She was a member of Landmark Baptist Church in Jacksonville, and was a retired nurse from Maybelline L’Oreal.
She is survived by her loving son Phil Jordan, brothers, Wayne Lee and his wife Carolyn, Sammy Lee and his wife Karen, Tommy Lee of Pensacola, Florida, one Uncle Cecil “Jim” Jameson, a host of nieces and nephews, best friends, Shirley Romanelli, Mary Hamm, and Pat Prichett.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home with Bro. Ben Leonard officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park.

L.Wayne Sullivan, 64, of Alexander, died Thursday, April 10, 2003.
Funeral was Monday, April 14, at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was at New Rosemont Memorial Park.

HELEN JOANN WILSON
Helen JoAnn Wilson, 57, of Alexander, died Thursday, April 10, 2003. She was a loving wife, mother and true friend, before going to be with her Lord.
Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Larry Wilson; her daughter, Donna Price and husband Dale; her son, Joey Wilson and his fiancee Greta Woolf, all of Alexander; her mother, Ruth Lawrence of North Little Rock; her brothers, David and Johnny Lawrence, both of El Paso, Ark.; three grandchildren, Rachel Warner, Jacob Price and Savannah Price.
Funeral was Monday, April 14, at the Roller-Drummond Southwest Chapel with Rev. Jerry Burns officiating. Burial was at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

GERTRUDE LILLIAN BOYD CRANFORD
Gertrude Lillian Boyd Cranford, 85, of Sheridan, a homemaker, died Thursday, April 10, 2003 at the Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.
She was born Feb. 12, 1918 at Cabot, the daughter of the late George Lindsey and Winnie Lillian Anderson Boyd. She was a member of the Palestine Missionary Baptist Church, a member of the Extension Homemaker’s Club, and helped with the Grant County Fair Board.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Lester Cranford.
Surviving are a son Bernard L. Cranford Sr. and wife Mary Carol of Plainview; daughters Carole Schneider Deckard and husband J.D. of Sheridan, Kathy Cupples of Sheridan; eight grandchildren Bernard L. Cranford Jr. and wife Amy of Virginia, Tim L. Cranford and wife Denise of Illinois, Mike Horvath of Sheridan, Les Horvath and wife Dana of Bryant, Billy D. Horvath of Florida, Paula K. Benham and husband Terry of Benton, Mandy M. McGarity and husband Britt of Sheridan, Cindy Utpadel and husband John of Michigan; 12 great-grandchildren, Carrie Cranford of Texas, Jennifer Wilkey of Illinois, Anthony Bratton of Bryant, James Wilkey of Illinois, Stephanie Bratton of Bryant, Marley Horvath of Nebraska, Kesha Horvath of Michigan, Josh Horvath of Nebraska, Les Horvath Jr. of Michigan, John Cranford of Virginia, Josie McGarity of Sheridan, Zachary Benham of Benton.
Funeral was Saturday, April 12, at the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with the Revs. Doney Blackerby and Clyde Chenault officiating.
Burial was at the Jones-Palestine cemetery near Sheridan. Arrangements were by Memorial Gardens Funeral Home of Sheridan. Pallbearers were Bernard Cranford Jr., Timothy Cranford, Michael Horvath, John Lester Horvath, Billy Horvath, Joseph Huggins. Honorary Pallbearers were Britt McGarity, Terry Benham, Charley Cupples Jr.

JESSE NEWTON FIKES, JR.
Jesse Newton Fikes, Jr., 78, of Watson Chapel, owner of Fikes Furniture and Radio Services in Pine Bluff for 40 years before his retirement in 1986, died April 9, 2003 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff.
He was born Dec. 1, 1924 at Grapevine, a son of the late J.N. Fikes and Lucy B. Bryles Fikes. He was reared and received his early education in Pine Bluff and graduated from Pine Bluff High School. Prior to opening his business, he was a professional baseball player with the New York Giants organization. He was an active member of Watson Chapel Baptist Church. He was an ordained deacon and taught young people at both Greenlee Baptist Church and Watson Chapel Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years Margie Hulse Fikes; and two sons Howard L. Fikes and wife Sherry of Bryant, and Ralph V. Fikes and wife Terry of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren Justin Fikes, Ali Fikes and Katie Fikes; two sisters Nell West of Sulpher Springs and Evalee Hervey of Pine Bluff; and numerous nieces, and nephews.
Funeral was Saturday, April 12, at Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Home in Pine Bluff by Rev. M.L. Faler and Rev. Carroll Fikes. Burial was at Ramick cemetery in Grapevine.
The family requests memorials be made to Watson Chapel Baptist Church Building Fund, 5514 Pinnacle Lane, Pine Bluff, AR 71603.
