TROY LINDSEY SCOTT
Troy Lindsey Scott, 75, of Widener, died Wednesday, April 9, 2003, having been in poor health the past six months.
He was born June 14, 1922, in Wynne, the son of Virgil Scott and Alberta Boone Scott. He had lived in Cross and St. Francis County’s most of his life and was the owner-partner of Scott and Scott Construction. He was a veteran of the Navy, member of Antioch Baptist Church and an avid fisherman.
Surviving are three sons Bobby Scott of Armuchee, Ga., Jimmy Scott of Bryant and Terry Scott of Conway; three daughters Brenda Munn of Forrest City, Linda Hogan of Jonesboro, and Lisa Stevens of Forrest City; one stepdaughter Teresa Brannon of Armuchee, Ga.; two sisters Bobbie Spiedel and Peggy Eggleston both of Denver, Colo. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Friday, April 11, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was at Harris Chapel cemetery in Wynne.

MYRTLE ELSIE PALMER
Myrtle Elsie Palmer, 89, of Mesa, Ariz., died April 14, 2003, just 26 days before her 90th birthday.
She was born in Bryant. She was a longtime member of the Sabbatarian Church of God, including Worldwide Church of God, Church of God, International and at the time of death a beloved member of the Greater Phoenix Church of God.
Surviving are sons: William F. Simpson of Little Rock, Bob G. Simpson of Mesa, Ariz., Wil Simpson of Reno, Nev., and Don Simpson of Woodinville, Wash.; daughters: Shirley Lame of Hobbs, N.M., Anita Maddison of Richland, Wash., and Sandra Mittendorf of Mesa, Ariz.; 20 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, April 21, at 1 p.m. at Ashby Funeral Home in Benton. Assisted by Bunker’s University Chapel of Mesa, Ariz., with Pastor James Ussery officiating. Burial was to be at Pinecrest Memorial Park near Benton.

Demetra Gannaway
Demetra Gannaway of Little Rock passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 after a brief illness. She was born on May 16, 1928 in Moro to Hollis and Effie Summar. She was a long-time member of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church.
"Demetra was a sweet, wonderful Christian lady who had many friends and loved ones who will miss her dearly." She loved to travel with the group from her church and play dominoes and other games with her friends at The Cottages where she lived.
She was preceded in death by her husband, (Ret.) Lt. Col. Malcolm W. Gannaway and her parents.
She is survived by three daughters, Melinda (Bob) Frey of Bryant, Kristy (Mark) Morell of Benton and Susan Brown of Cabot; three grandchildren, Brandon and Blake (Tara) Stackhouse of Alexander and Devon Brown of Cabot; two brothers, Hollis (Nancy) Summar of Arkadelphia and John (Lucille) Summar of Batesville; one sister, Wanda (Bob) Hawkins of Beebe; aunts, Etta (Albert) Bostian of Little Rock and Virginia (Dick) Moore of Lonoke; uncle, Ed (Betty) Summar of Bradford; brother-in-law, Jim Gannaway of Little Rock and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 20, at Little Rock Funeral Home, with Rev. Paul Sanders and Dr. Bruce Chesser officiating. Burial followed at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. Arrangements by Little Rock Funeral Home.

Phillip Allen Graham
Phillip Allen Graham, age 48, of Malvern died Monday June 9, 2008
He was born June 1, 1960 in Odessa, Texas to his parents, J.T. and Helen Graham.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, surveyor, carpenter and loved working with animals. He was also an avid gardener and put in a garden every year.
He is preceded in death by his father, J.T. Graham.
He is survived by his mother, Helen Graham of Benton, three children Denise, Philicia and Phillip Jr.; his brothers, Thomas Graham and his wife Gloria of Gilroy, Calif., Gary Graham and wife Pam of Fayetteville, Michael Graham and wife Cindy of Alexander; his sister; Robin Polk and her husband Marty of Benton, and a host of nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles that loved him greatly and will miss him dearly. He is also survived by several grandchildren and a close family that took care of him, Dell, Misty and Farron Derrick and Jorge Silva.
A celebration of his life was held on Saturday, June 14, at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home, Bryant.

SHARON ANN FINCH DAVIS
Sharon Ann Finch Davis, 63, of Denver, Colo., formerly of Collegeville, Arkansas City and McGehee, died Feb. 1, 2008 after complications from a lengthy illness.
She was the oldest daughter of Clarence Dee and Bonnie (Rice) Finch of the Collegeville Community in Saline County. She was born in Lancaster, Calif., and attended schools in St. Louis, Mo., Little Rock and Bryant. She was a member of Heritage Baptist Temple in Little Rock.
She was preceded in death by her father; husband, Walter C. Davis Jr.; and her children's father, Larry E. McBride.
She was a Registered Nurse Counselor, RN CNA, was employed as a company nurse at Potlatch Corp. and worked for many years at Fort Roots Veterans Hospital. She was recognized as AAADAC (Arkansas Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors) 1996 Counselor of the Year.
She loved drawing, painting and creating.
Surviving are her mother, Bonnie Jo Finch of Bryant; two sons, Lewis A. McBride and wife Jacquenette of Spring, Texas, and Brian E. McBride of Mabelvale; a daughter, Brandy Crafton and her husband, Mike, of Owasso, Okla.; three sisters, Barbara Lundquist and her husband, Rex, of Huntington Beach, Calif.; Annella (Nellie) Bearden of Vilonia; Debbie Sikes and her husband, Bobby, of Bryant; one granddaughter, Caitlin McBride of Spring, Texas; her mother-in-law, Zenda Davis of Denver, Colo.; stepson, Tim Davis of San Diego, Calif.; and many other friends and relatives.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Parkview Care Center of Denver, Colo.
Cremation was by Bullock Mortuary of Denver and burial was in Ft. Logan National cemetery in Denver.

Donald Irwin Dougan
Donald Irwin Dougan, 70, of Sheridan passed away on July 3, 2007 at Hot Spring County Medical in Malvern.
He was born March 8, 1937 in Prattsville, to Elmer and Florence Booth Dougan. He served 22 years with the U.S. Army. On April 26, 1971, he married Rona Sinclair in Redbank, N.J. Following his military career, he was employed 10 years with Momentum Technology in Little Rock, retiring in 1992.
He is survived by his wife Rona of Sheridan; son and daughter-in-law Franklin and Leigh Dougan of Pine Bluff; two daughters and sons-in-law Donna and Gene Rice of Bryant, Siobhan and Perry Carpenter of Beebe; five grandchildren Colton and Erin Dougan, Alex Rice, Sage and Lily Carpenter; brother Doyce Dougan of Prattsville; sister Ernie Lou Milner of Royal; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 7 at Buie Funeral Chapel in Sheridan with the Rev. Brad Warren officiating. Interment followed at Philadelphia cemetery in Prattsville.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the charity of your choice.

RODNEY N. LOUALLEN

Rodney N. Louallen, 72, of Benton passed away Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006 at Saline Memorial Hospital.

He was born on Sept. 19, 1934 in Reform, Ark., to the late Joe and Rosa Cox Louallen. He was retired from Norton Alcoa Co., and was a member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church and a Mason.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Rosemary Jordan.

He is survived by his loving and caring wife Mary Evelyn Brown Louallen as well as two sisters Alphia Scallion and Fern Parsons, a brother Bobby Louallen, all of Paron, and several nieces and one special nephew, Jimmy Parsons.
The family acknowledges that Mr. Louallen was also survived by two special buddies, Prissy and Sonny Boy, who have given him great pleasure and unconditional love.

Funeral services were Friday, Dec. 15, at Ashby Funeral Home with burial at Old Rosemont Cemetary. Bro. Clyde Chenault and Bro. Richard Hamlin officiated.

Pallbearers were Bruce Rich, Bobby Landreth, Rick Carmichael, Brian Adams, Kent Greer and Norris Cox. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Mark Martindale, Dr. Jerry Dixon, Paul Mills, Gilbert Brown and Terry Neal Wilkerson.

Clarence Eugene Young
February 15, 1948 - April 17, 2012
Clarence Eugene Young was born on February 15, 1948 to Alberta and Monroe Young in Marianna, Arkansas. He professed a hope in Christ at the age of 13 at St. John Missionary Baptist Church.
Clarence later joined St. Luke Baptist Church where he attended for several years with his wife, Letha. They were active members of St. Luke Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Eric Alexander. While battling his illness Clarence’s belief in Jesus remained strong even though he could not attend church on a regular basis.
Clarence enjoyed fishing, fixing things around the house, broken and not broken, taking trips to St. Louis, attending church, and just sitting on his porch. He retired as Head of Maintenance from O’Fallon Place Apartments in St. Louis, Missouri.
Clarence is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, two brothers, and one grandson (Darrin).
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Letha, three children; Rochae, two sons, Clarence Lavar (Shonda), Derrick, one grandson Kevin, two step-daughters Bridgett Welford (Joe Lee, Sr.), Lanetta Roper, and five adopted grandchildren, Joe Lee, Jr., Brittany Shelon, Briona, Hayle, three sisters Amanda Morris, Ruth Bolden (Maxie), Wilma Crowder, and two brothers, John Young, and Maurice Young, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2012 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012 at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Eric L. Alexander officiating. Interment will follow in St. John's cemetery in Marianna. Funeral services are entrusted to Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home (501) 982-2136.

Hermie M. Thomason
Hermie M. Thomason, age 97, of Sheridan, formerly of Delight, died Tuesday, April 11, 2006.
She was born on Dec. 13, 1908 at Charlotte, the daughter of John "Jack" Byrum and Cecil Hugg Byrum. On Aug. 15, 1931, she was married to Ralph Thomason, Sr., who preceded her in death on May 18, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her son Ralph Thomason, Jr.
She was Assembly of God in her faith.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Kenneth and Ima Thomason of Wichita Falls, Texas; her daughter and son-in-law Loretta and Jerry Ball of Bryant; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; one sister Eloise Gosnell of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and two sisters-in-law Dorcas Harper of Lamirada, Calif., and Doris Byrum of Clarkston, Mich.
Graveside services were Saturday, April 15, in the Delight cemetery with Kenneth Teeter officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
