Kenneth M. Gentry
Kenneth Marvin Gentry, age 70, of Des Arc died Tuesday, March 1. Survivors include his wife, Juanita Foshee Gentry; two sons, Kim Gentry, Terry Gentry; one daughter, Diane Edwards ; three brothers, Tommy, Jerry, Phillip Gentry; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren ; five great grandchildren. Services were Friday, March 4, at First United Methodist Church with burial in Lakeside cemetery by Garth Funeral Home.

Roy Hollier
February 18, 1939 - August 21, 2012
Roy “Bo” Hollier, 73 of Scott, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012 in North Little Rock. He was born February 18, 1939 to the late Leroy and Margie Hollier. Bo was employed 39 years as a brakeman foreman with the Missouri Pacific Railroad. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Hollier and a grandson, Royce Hollier.
He is survived by his son, Randy (Sharon) Hollier of Scott; daughter, Kim (Charles) Porter of Bastrop, LA.; three grandchildren, Reece and Randis Hollier, both of Scott, Charles (Lil’ Bo) Porter of Bastrop, LA; sisters, Barbara Ware of Bend, Oregon, Ricky Vance of Pine Bluff and Sylvia Milton of Norphlett, Arkansas; many friends, especially Pat Welch, sister in laws, many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Church of Willow Beach with Reverend Roy Tilley officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home and Crematory. (501) 982-2136.

Everette J. Howell
Everette Jackson Howell, age 91, of Des Arc died Monday, Feb. 28, 2005. Survivors include one son, William E. "Bill" Howell; one daughter, Elizabeth "Liz" Hampton, six grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Ruth Elaine Howell, on Nov. 28, 2004. Services were Saturday, March 5, at Johnson Chapel Methodist Church with burial in Johnson Chapel cemetery by Garth Funeral Home.

Avie Jerome Singleton, Sr.
July 11, 1941 - August 17, 2012
Avie Jerome Singleton, Sr. age 71 of Jacksonville, passed away Friday, August 17, 2012. He was born July 11, 1941 in Clarendon, Arkansas to the late Jeff Shelby Singleton and Goldia Irene Singleton. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Singleton, brothers, Jerry and Paul Wayne Singleton. Mr. Singleton was a retired United States Navy Veteran who served during Vietnam and was a retired Pulaski County Sheriff’s Deputy. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his children; Avie J. Singleton, Jr. and his wife Charlene, Michelle Baldwin and her husband Chris, siblings, Doug, Jeff, and Terry Singleton, Glenda Snyder, Penny Park, and Gina Richardson. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Michael Singleton and his wife Heather, Casey Singleton, Ashley Baldwin, Jessie Baldwin, and a great-grandson Avie J. Singleton, III.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 19, 2012 at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 20, 2012 at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.

Mary Edna Felts
Mary Edna Felts, 83, of North Little Rock, formerly of Des Arc, departed this life on Wednesday, March 2, 2005, for her Heavenly Home. She was born Feb. 19, 1922, in Griffithville, Ark., to Vernon and Ethel Ray. She graduated from Griffithville High School, where she played basketball. She later worked at the Jacksonville ordinance plant during World War II. She loved everyone she came in contact with, she always put others’ needs ahead of her own. She loved all her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by one son, Tommy Felts of Coushatta, La.; two daughters, Joyce Boren and Linda Duncan, both of North Little Rock; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, ; three brothers, Carl Ray of Andover, Kan., Neal Ray and Dale Ray of Griffithville, Ark.; three sisters, Margarette Lewis, Charlene Crafton and Imogene Williams, all of Searcy; and a host of other relatives. She was preceded in death by husband Archie Felts; one son, Ricky Lee Felts; one granddaughter, Cheryl Ann Boren; and parents, Vernon and Ethel Ray.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 5, 2005, at Lakeside Missionary Baptist Church in Des Arc with Rev. Garry Wilson pastor and Rev. James Ray Rains from Lynchview Baptist Church of North Little Rock, Ark., officiating. Burial was at Lakeside cemetery with Garth’s Funeral Home of Des Arc in charge of services.
Pallbearers: Shane Felts, Craig Duncan, Tracy Ray, Jackie McDonald, Ron Siebold and John Felts.

Ray J. Weddle
Ray Johnson Weddle, age 69, born New Year’s Day 1936, died March 4, 2005, while fishing. He served in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Unit and was retired E-7 from the Army National Guard. Ray retired after 32 years from Producers Rice Mill. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church since age 16. Ray enjoyed hunting and fishing all of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Miller Weddle; brother, James Weddle; sister, Dolores Alverson; children, Rayanne (Tim) Bednar, Slovak, Barry Weddle, Stuttgart, Kent Weddle, Hazen, Brent Weddle (Cindy), Hazen, Dustin Weddle, Carlisle, Debbie White, Mayflower, Melanie (Bill) Scroggins, Furlow, Jerry White (Kim) Hazen, Shane Weems, Hazen; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at the Calvary Baptist Church with burial in the Hazen cemetery, by Westbrook Funeral Home of Hazen. Pall bearers are Jimmy King, Rusty Weddle, Zach Alverson, Raymond Prine, Harry Weddle, Jimmy Shelman and Sam Weddle. Honorary pall bearers are Jerry Branscum, B.W. Swilley, Dwight Sanders, Charles Gerren, Conley Taylor, Steve Chlapecka, Dorris Greenwalt, Richard Boothe, Bill Sells, Ronnie Hackelton, Jerry Carter, Burk Sims, Gaylon Colclasure, Harry Mack King, Archie Prine, Harvey Sorrows, Jay Sutton, Paul Porter, Larry Almond, Jackie Larkan, Edward Holmes, Larry Anthony and Morgan Alderson. Memorials may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church.

Iva Lee Wright
Iva Lee Wilson Wright, age 83, went to be with the Lord March 5, 2005. She loved life and lived for her family. She was an active member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. Known as "Grandma, " she worked for Carlisle Public Schools and was active in Girl Scouts for years. She loved to camp and entertain. Her last words to her family were "I Love You" and be sure and tell everyone else that she loved them too. Her husband, Olen L. Wright and a daughter, Shellah Wright preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughters, Anita DuBose (Kenneth) of St Charles, Mo., Delores Hobbs (Robin) of Damascus, Debbie Reaves (Delbert) and Brenda Horner (Monty); and a son, Bill Sears, all of Carlisle; sisters, Eva Mae Linam of Donaldson and Juanita Kinkead of Oklahoma; brothers, Bobby Wilson of Carlisle and Teddy Wilson of Benton; grandchildren, Tina White (David ), Gary DuBose (Cecelia), David Harness, Carlene Lee, Lynnette Ward (Jeff ), Allison Goodman (Justin) ; greatgrandchildren, Hannah, Ben, Karissa, James, Jared, Samuel, Olivia, Jake, Jessica and Madison.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Landmark Baptist Church, Carlisle. Burial will follow in Carlisle cemetery, arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke.

John E. Owens
John E. Owens of Bastrop, Louisiana, passed away Thursday, February 24 at the age of 75 after a long battle following a heart transplant. He live in Arkansas many years before moving to Louisiana. He worked at the John Deere dealership in Hazen under Eagle Boyd.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Sparks Owens; five children, Chris, Charles and Earl, Janice Owens Anderson and Rita Owens Cross; 10 grandchildren and five great grandchildren; a brother, Jerry Owens of DeValls Bluff; two sisters, Mary Ann Geater of Stuttgart, and Mrie Price of DeValls Bluff; and many other relatives and friends.
Attending the funeral from here were Earl Sparks and wife, Wesley liver and wife, Jackie OWens and wife and daughters Holly and Heather, Jerry and Micheal Owens, Mary Ann Geater, her son Ronnie and daughter Sharon, Shane Isbell and wife, Marie, Barbara, Jimmy and Dennis Price. Funeral services were held at Golden Funeral Home with burial in Bastrop, on Sunday, February 27.

Deacon Perry Lee Dodson, Jr.
Deacon Perry Lee Dodson, Jr., age 64, died October 22, 2005. He was Vice Chairman of St. John Baptist Deacon Board, one of the original members of the Zion 5 Jr. Gospel Singers, vice president of St. John Baptist Choir and was a veteran of the US Army.
His parents, Perry Lee Dodson, Sr. and Annie Elizabeth Waller Dodson, and several brothers and sisters preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Estella Dodson; daughter, Bonita Walter (Anthony) of Little Rock; son, Rev. Brian Dodson (Jackie) of DeValls Bluff; brothers, Major Dodson of California and Robert Dodson (Aretha) of Lonoke; one sister, Laura Spencer ( Eddie) of Lonoke; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 29, at Gateway Fellowship Church. Burial followed in Sunset Memorial Garden.

Troy Ray Gates
Troy Ray Gates, 80, of Hazen, died October 26, 2005. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a welder, and a retired mill operator from Producer’s Rice Mill in Stuttgart
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Clora Gates; one sister, Thelma Hamilton; and two brothers, Roy and Chester Gates.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Emma-Jean Gates; one daughter, Sharon Gates of Hazen; one son, Wayne Gates of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 29, 2005, at Center Point Baptist Church by Bro. Alan Minton and Bro. Eddie Addison. Burial with Navy military honors was in the Center Point cemetery. Pall bearers were Dale Perry, Ray Wood, Tommy Jasper, Chuck Greenwalt, Tommy Martin, B.R. Holmes, Chad Newby and Sam Gates. Honorary pall bearers were Lance Martin, Carlos Gates, Davin Alexander and Emil McMullen. Arrangements were by Westbrook Funeral Home of Hazen.

Francis Marie Curtis
Francis Marie Curtis, age 95, of Des Arc died Wednesday. Survivors include two sons, Charles Curtis, Wayne Curtis; one daughter, Glenda Curtis; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Lakeside cemetery by Garth Funeral Home of Des Arc.

Lequita Joy Wilemon
May 14, 1931 - April 14, 2012
Lequita “Joy” Simpson Wilemon age 80 of Lonoke went to be with the Lord Saturday, April 14, 2012. She was born May 14, 1931 in Dewitt, Arkansas to the late Bunt and Emma Simpson. She retired from Falcon Jet where she was an Aviation Electronics Engineer. She was preceded in death by her daughter Patricia LeHue, and her husband Jack Wilemon. She was a loving, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her three children; Diane Hoefar, Brenda Harness, and Allen LeHew .She is also survived by her grandchildren Charmane Marks, Cindy Wilemon, Jeffrey Harness, Brian Harness, Chad LeHew, Colby LeHew, and great-grandchildren; Cyndel Marks Swartz, Autum Marks, Dakota Marks, and Tyler Van Houten.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke.
Interment will be 12:00p.m. Monday, April 23, 2012 at Forks LaGrue cemetery in Dewitt.

Hardy Winter
Hardy “Shorty” Winter, age 89, died Thursday, October 27, 2005, at his home in Des Arc. The funeral service was Saturday, October 29, at Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Beebe.

Mae Eunice Robinson
Mae Eunice Robinson, 80 years old, of DeValls Bluff passed Thursday, Oct. 20, 2005, at the Stuttgart Regional Medical Center in Stuttgart, Ark. She is survived by four sons and three daughters. Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in DeValls Bluff. Burial was in the Oakland cemetery. Service arrangements by McNeal Funeral Home, Inc., of Brinkley.
