Eddie Weaver, 33, died Friday. Survivors are his wife, Melody Weaver, of Brinkley; father, Lawrence Weaver of Brinkley; sons, Robert and Jonathon; sister, Tanya Caldwell of Clarendon; brother-in-law, Robbie McIntosh, Iraq; mother-in-law, Joyce McIntosh.Funeral service was Monday, at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, DeValls Bluff. Interment, was in Oakland cemetery, DeValls Bluff.

Chester William Farrell
March 15, 1921 - April 5, 2012
Chester William Ferrell was born on March 15, 1921 in Broseley, Missouri to Frank C. Ferrell and Rachel Cassie Dunlop Ferrell, but Chester grew up in Augusta. Chester is survived by one sister, Modene Lucy of Palestine, one sister-in-law Ruth Ferrell of McCrory, one daughter, Emma Knight and son-in-law, Ronald Knight of Jacksonville, one son, Chester “Chuck” D. Ferrell and daughter-in-law, Mary Ferrell of North Little Rock, one grandson, Gregory Knight and granddaughter-in-law, Mileia Knight of Springdale, one granddaughter, Stephanie Ferrell of Atlanta, Georgia, two great-grandsons, Matthew and Jacob Knight. Chester was proceeded in death by two brothers, Wesley Ferrell and Eugene Ferrell, one sister, LillieBell Dollar, and was widowed on two occasions, first by the death of Betty Jo Ferrell and secondly by the death of Margie House Ferrell. Chester was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer on November 22, 2011 and set out on a fierce battle against it, but lost his battle on March 5, 2012.
Chester joined the United States Army in 1941 and after serving six years, he left the service coming home to Woodruff County, Arkansas where he married Betty Jo Holt of Beedeville. In 1948 he was recalled to active duty by the United States Army and the President of the United States. During his military career, he achieved the rank of 1st Sargent (E-8) and served as Sargent Major on Special Assignment with Company C 2nd Brigade Group, 4th Calvary, United States Army. Chester received The Award of the Purple Heart on August 9, 1952 in Korea. He also received the Bronze Star for Valor against the enemy at Chokko-ri, Korea in 1953. He received the Award of the Army Commendation Medal, as ordered by the United States Infantry Training Center, in addition he received two Korean War Service Medals, awarded him by the President of South Korea. Some of his assignments included Company A, 10th Battle Group, 3rd Brigade Infantry United States Army, Company B, 1st Battalion, 1st Brigade, Infantry, United States Army, Company A, 10th Battle Group, 3rd Brigade, United States Army Infantry Company B, 1st Battalion, 1st Infantry, United States Army.
On July 30, 1968, by order of the Secretary of the Army, Chester received special orders of retirement and did retire from Company B, 1st Battalion 1st Infantry United States Army. In 1970, he began working Base Supply of the 314 Tactical Airlift Wing, Little Rock Air Force Base, receiving a multitude of Achievement Awards. Chester retired from the Civil Service in January 1987 and truly lived out his retirement. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War and a charter member of the WW II Engagements, the National Republican Committee, and a member of the Jacksonville First Assembly of God Church.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at First Assembly of God Church in Jacksonville with Brother Royce Lowe officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park under the direction of Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home and Crematory (501)982-2136. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to one of the following non-profit organizations; Arkansas Hospice of North Little Rock, The Pulaski County Humane Society of Little Rock, Pet Angels, Inc. of Jacksonville or Fishnet Missions of Jacksonville.

Celeste Dodson Bailey
Celeste Dodson Bailey went to her heavenly home Friday, October 28, 2005. She is survived by 2 daughters, Jeanne Clanton and LaDonna Arthurs, 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, all of Bakersfield, California. She is also survived by one brother, L.H. Dodson of Springdale, Arizona; three sisters, Frances Scott of DeValls Bluff, Virginia Dunaway of Severna Park, Maryland and Carolyn Bowden of Duncan, Oklahoma. The services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at Green Lawn Mortuary, Panaroma Drive, Bakersfield, California.

Eva Jacobs Brooks
Eva Jacobs Brooks, age 78, of Des Arc died Sunday. Survivors include two daughters, Betty Jo Kidd, Deborah Copeland; seven sons, James Inman, Benny Inman, Von Inman, Floyd Inman, Kenneth Inman, Tony Inman, Rusty Inman; three sisters; two brothers, 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
Services were 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Assembly of God Church with burial in Sandhill cemetery by Garth Funeral Home.

Rhena M. Chapman
Rhena M. Chapman, age 88 of Searcy, died Tuesday, January 24 in Searcy. She was born December 4, 1917 in Marvel, Arkansas to Gus Sullivan and Lucy (Harrison) Sullivan. She was a member of West Race Baptist Church for many years.
She is survived by two sons, Bill Chapman of Austin, Larry Chapman of Searcy; two sisters, Dorothy Clarke of Hazen, Gussie Guyer of Marshall; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Lucy Sullivan; husband, Robert Chapman; one son, Bobby Chapman; and one sister, Darliss Morgan.
Funeral service were Saturday, January 28, at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Oak Grove cemetery. The family has requested memorials be made to the Salvation Army.

Oswell Lewis Shull
Oswell Lewis Shull, age 90, of Lonoke, passed away January 24 at home with his family present. He was born in Des Arc, Arkansas, July 29, 1915, to Oscar Shull and Lois Brundridge Shull. Oswell attended the University of Arkansas, to pursue a degree in accounting, attended Duke University’s Finance school and graduated as a first lieutenant in the Army.
He served three years as a financial officer in New Orleans during World War II, and remained in the army reserves thereafter. His service was requested once again and he was sent to Greenland during the Korean War with the Navy to build Fort Blue Jay. He was later promoted to Lieutenant Colonel for his service to the Country.
In 1999, he moved from Fort Smith to his boyhood home, Lonoke, to take care of the family farms.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Louise Demby Shull; daughter, Ann Shull Bell; one grandson; and one brother, Richard Shull. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Harold B. Shull and Rex B. Shull; and his sister Mary R. Henderson.
The memorial service was held on Friday, January 27, at the First Presbyterian Church of Lonoke. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be sent to Hospice Home Care or the First Presbyterian Church of Lonoke. Arrangements were under the direction of Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke.

Gladys Meryl Baker Nichols
Gladys Meryl Baker Nichols, 93, of Little Rock, passed away January 25, 2006. Preceding her were her husband, J.C. Nichols ; two daughters, Mae Etta Smith and Alyce Rhodes; and one son, Chester Nichols. Survivors include five sons, A.B. Nichols and A.D. Nichols of Little Rock, Ark., Herman Nichols of Orlando, Fla., Clarence Nichols of Carlisle, Ark., and Broderick Nichols of Memphis, Tenn.; one daughter, Colone Nichols Young of Little Rock, Ark.; one brother, Chester Baker of Fort Smith, Ark.; one sister, Carrie Butler of Oakland, Calif.; 26 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, relatives, and friends.
Funeral service was held Saturday, January 28, 2006, 11 a.m. at St. John Baptist Church, Roosevelt and Main Streets, Little Rock. Interment was in Carlisle cemetery, Carlisle, Ark.

Alvin Troy Green
Alvin Troy Green, age 86, of Des Arc died Wednesday. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn (Overturf) Green; two grandsons, Steven Green, Alvin Morris Green Jr.; one brother, and one sister. Services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, January 27 at First Baptist Church with burial in Lakeside cemetery by Garth Funeral Home.

Laura Sue Mask
Laura Sue Mask of Carlisle, Ark. (Crossroads community ), died Jan. 26, 2006. Born March 11, 1915, to Charlie and Etta Wells, she was a lifelong resident of the Crossroads community. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Raymond E. “Hoot” Mask. She was the oldest member of Hebron Methodist Church, serving as church secretary and treasurer for many years, as well as a Sunday school teacher. Laura was loved by all as a very sweet lady.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Avery Wells. Graveside service was held Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006, at Hebron cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hebron cemetery Fund, 11778 Plainview Rd., Carlisle, Ark. 72204.

Evelyn S. Crittenden
Evelyn Sanders Crittenden of Little Rock died in Springdale, Ark., on Jan. 26, 2006. She was born Dec. 3, 1917, in Hazen, Ark., to Pearl and J.C. Sanders.
In 1943, she married Orville Crittenden and lived most of her life in Little Rock. She was a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas, a public school teacher, and a teacher of reading in the Little Rock school system for 33 years. She was a faithful member and supporter of Immanuel Baptist Church and the Ruth Sunday School Class, and also a member of the Arkansas Retired Teachers Association and the AEA. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Preceded in death by her two brothers, Glen Sanders and Cleveland “Bo” Sanders, and a sister, Jean Beam. Mrs. Crittenden is survived by her husband, Orville Ham Crittenden; her son, David Crittenden and his wife, Marsha; two grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 30, 2006, in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12th, Little Rock, (501) 661-9111, with Reverend Stan Parris officiating. Burial was in Hazen cemetery. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, 501 North Shackleford, Little Rock, Ark. 72211.

Doris Colleene Buck Park
Doris Colleene Buck Park went to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006. Colleene was a life long resident of DeValls Bluff, she was born May 12, 1925, to the late James Calvin and Olevia Roberts Buck. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of DeValls Bluff.
Colleene was a homemaker enjoying cooking and writing poems. Giving is really what made her happy. Although she was confined to her home the last few years of her life, she stayed in contact with others by telephone, she was a giver.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Newt Park; they were married 60 wonderful years. She was also preceded in death by her sister; Catherine Buck Mayes of Amarillo, Texas; and one great-granddaughter, Christina Renee Smith of DeValls Bluff. She is survived by one son, Ivie (Butch) Park of DeValls Bluff, one daughter; Linda Schwede and husband Tommy of Biscoe; two granddaughters; two great-grandsons; three brothers, J.C. Buck and W.T. Buck of DeValls Bluff, and Malcomb Buck of Lonoke; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, at the First Baptist Church of DeValls Bluff, with burial in the Oakland cemetery.

James Castleberry
James Hugh Castleberry, 76, of Des Arc died Sunday, April 2. Survivors include his wife, Mary; two sons, James Castleberry, Ralph Castleberry; one daughter, Leah Castleberry; two stepsons, Robert McKenzie, Ralph McKenzie; one brother, Ray Castleberry; one sister, Eva Ezell; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Services were Tuesday, April 4, at Des Arc Church of Christ with burial in Sandhill cemetery by Garth Funeral Home.

George Oliver Toll III
George Oliver Toll III, age 63, of Tollville, passed away, Saturday, April 8, 2006.
He was a rice and soybean farmer in Prairie County and truly had a passion and love for the land and farming. Oliver graduated from Hazen High School in 1960 and attended Arkansas A&M in Monticello. He was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Tollville where he previously served as Senior Warden. He served on the Board of Directors of Prairie Farmers Association, past president of the Hazen Grain Dryer, a member of the American and Arkansas Quarter Horse Association, the Aircraft owners and Pilots Association, and was currently serving as a member of the Board of Directors for Riceland Foods. Oliver was an avid pilot.
He is survived by his parents, G.O. and Etta Lynne Toll of Tollville; his son, George Oliver Toll IV and wife, Tabatha of Hazen; his daughter, Angela Toll of Conway; grandson, Blayne Oliver Toll of Hazen; the children's mother, Janis Toll of Hazen; and special friend, Charlette Castle of Tollville.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 9, 2006 from 2 to 4 p.m., at Westbrook Funeral Home in Hazen. Funeral services were held Monday, April 10, 2006 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Tollville by Dean Henry Hutson of Little Rock. Interment was in Oakland cemetery in DeValls Bluff. Pall bearers were Sam Ferguson, Billy Hawkins, Billy Rogers, Jon Beckwith, Frankie Lee, Carl Madsen, Frank Skarda and Kenny Foot. Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Episcopal Church 1432 Hwy. 86 East, DeValls Bluff, Ark., 72041.

Ardith L. Kellar
Ardith L. Kellar, age 74, of Jacksonville departed this life on Thursday, April 6, 2006. He was born in Conway County, Ark., to the late Ben and Florance Kellar. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Kellar. In 1948, he started his Air Force career with basic training at Lackland AFB. He attended OCS in 1956 and became a helicopter pilot, receiving several awards for helicopter rescues. On retirement, he graduated from UALR with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. He was a practicing CPA for several years in Little Rock and Jacksonville. Ardith was a member of First Baptist Church in Jacksonville and a York Right Mason. He was a local businessman and served on the residential Housing Facilities Board for the city of Jacksonville.
Art is survived by his wife of 55 years, LaVerne Stover Kellar; two sons, Steve Kellar and wife, Sue of Sherwood and Dr. Stan Kellar and wife, Donna of North Little Rock; one daughter, Linda Shore and husband, Steve of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren, ; two great-granddaughters; three sisters, Syble Stout and husband, Leon of Conway, Sula Stobaugh of Conway and Shirley Hardke and husband Fred of Carlisle; four brothers, J.F. and wife, Wanda of Little Rock, Luther and wife, Legenia of Little Rock, Ron and wife, Debbie of Benton and Dewey and wife, Lou of San Angelo, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Monday, April 10, 2006, at First Baptist Church, Jacksonville with Bro. Ben Kelley and Bro. Cliff Hutchins officiating. Interment was in Arkansas State Veterans cemetery in North Little Rock. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund or a charity of your choice.
