Frank Simon Bednar, Sr.
Frank Simon Bednar, Sr., 94, born June 3, 1912, of immigrant parents from Slovakia and the oldest member of the present day Slovak community, departed this world October 7, 2006.
He was a charter member of Arkansas Rice Growers (Riceeland Foods), a member of Council #3998 of a Knights of Columbes and a lifetime members of Sts Cyril and Methodious Catholic Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents, John and Anna Bednar; his wife, Agnes A. Anthony Bednar; four brothers, John, Mike, Joseph and Andrew Bednar; two sisters, Anna Hiznay and Juna Guidos; and two grandchildren, Brenda Selig and Scott Speed.
Survivors are six sons, Frank Bednar, Jr. and wife June of Slovak, Alfred Bednar and wife Genevieve of Pine Bluff, James Bednar and wife Clara, Larry Bednar and wife Sheila, Gerald Bednar and wife Glenda and Donald Bednar, all of Slovak; four daughters, Bernice Selig and husband Robert of Sherwood, Vivian McLinskey and deceased husband jim of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Marilyn Sawyer and husband John of Jonesboro and Carolyn Rhinehart and husband Darmon of Little Rock; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Sts. Cyril and Methodious Catholic Church, 1852 Hwy 86 W., Slovak, AR 72160, or to Baptist Health Hospice, 11900 Colonel Glen Road, Ste 2000, Little Rock, AR 72210-2820.
The family wishes to thank the many friends, family members, Eucharistic Ministers and Monsignor John A. Janesko, all of whom have been so very supportive during Frank’s ilness. A special thank you is extended to Baptist Health Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.

Julia Chance Tucker
Julia Chance Tucker, 93, of the Cornerville Community, in Lincoln County, died Tuesday in Little Rock. Survivors include two sons, Leon Tucker and wife, Sue Weatherford Tucker of Des Arc, Phillip Tucker and wife, Carol Lee of Cornerville; one daughter, Janice Brummett and husband, Jerry, of Little Rock; two brothers, M.V. Chance of Camden, and Obie Chance of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Services were Friday at 2 p.m. at the Griffin Funeral Chapel in Star City and burial was in the Cornerville cemetery. Arrangements are by Griffin Funeral Service of Star City.

Mary Lee Wesson
Mary Lee Wesson, age 72, of Des Arc died Thursday. Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Stallings; one son, Bubba Wesson; six grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters. Graveside services were at 3 p.m. Friday at Cotton Plant cemetery by Garth Funeral Home of Des Arc.

Zelmadean B. Parker
Zelmadean B. Parker of DeValls Bluff died Saturday, October 14, 2006. She was born April 5, 1930. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Parker. Survivors include two sons, Sam Parker and wife Mary, and Eddie Parker and wife Shelly; five grandchildren and three sisters, Rita O’Neal, Bea Clark and Yvonne England.
Funeral services were Tuesday, October 17 at the First Baptist Church in DeValls Bluff with burial in the Lone Pine cemetery north of Clarksville, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to the Lone Pine cemetery through ROller-Cox Funeral Home, 701 South Rogers Street, Clarksville, AR 72830.

Carl Lee Pauschert
Carl Lee Pauschert, Sr., died Tuesday, December 28, 2004. He was born in Carlisle, June 22, 1919 and married Vivienne Schafer Pauschert on August 30, 1946. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, sons Carl Lee, Jr. (Sandra) and Tommy Joe (Gwen) and two grandsons.
Carl served 3 years in the Navy in WWII as a Chief Machinist Mate during which he experienced the Okinawa typhoon. He was instrumental in organizing the Carlisle Auxiliary Police force, was Past President of the CB Club, was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner.
He farmed the family land for 62 years. He loved the outdoors, to hunt, drive his dump truck to haul gravel, NASCAR races, sports and the Razorbacks.
Funeral services were Wednesday, December 29, 2004 at the First United Methodist Church in Carlisle.
Interment was in the Carlisle cemetery with arrangements by Westbrook Funeral Home of Hazen.

Cleo E. Watson
Cleo E. Watson of North Little Rock, passed away December 28, 2004. He was born November 6, 1905 in England, Ark., to Corren R. and Dollie Cole Watson. He was a self employed farmer and Christian faith.
He is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Carolyn Watson of Scott and Harvey and Donna Watson of Cabot; daughter and son-in-law, Dollie and Bob Barth of Scott; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Reba Campbell Watson and a daughter, Reba Arkels.
Funeral service was held Thursday, December 30, at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel with a committal service at Hamilton cemetery in Carlisle, Ark.

Irene Burnside
Irene Merle Burnside, age 79, of Des Arc died Thursday, December 23, 2004. Survivors include two daughters, two sons, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside memorial services were Wednesday at Cotton Plant cemetery by Garth Funeral Home of Des Arc.

James Park Gilmore
James “Poly” Park Gilmore, 63, of Hazen, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at home with his wife, Judith Gilmore. He was a dedicated and enthusiastic bow hunter, a lifetime member of the Wattensaw Bow Hunters Association and Shelby County Bow Hunters.
He was a United States Navy veteran. James loved the outdoors and all of nature.
Survivors include his loving wife, Judith; one daughter, Katrina Pumphrey and husband, Rick of Eureka Springs; one sister, Carol Baxter and husband Neil of Pennsylvania; one brotherin-law, James R. Squire and wife, Marcille; one nephew and four nieces; and a host of friends whom he loved and will miss him greatly.
Graveside services were held Thursday, December 30, at Hazen cemetery by Bro. Eddie Addison.
Arrangements were by Westbrook Funeral Home of Hazen.

Annie J. Gartman
Annie Jewel Gartman of Mt. View, Ark., went to be with the Lord Thursday,
December 30, 2004. She was 77 years and 10 months of age.
She is survived by three children, Helen Gilbert of Mt. View; Patsy Adams (Herman) of Friendship, Wis., and Wayne Gartman (Linda) of Mesquite, Texas; twelve grandchildren ; twenty-six great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Horace (Leola) Galloway of Romance, Ark.; Troy Galloway of Aurora, Ill., and Ben Galloway of Hazen, Ark.; one sister, Mary Munnerlyn (J.C.) of Hazen, Ark., and several nieces, nephews, friends and other family. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Gartman; her daughter, Lois Treat; granddaughter, Jessica Moorehead; parents, Charlie and Ava Galloway and brothers, C.J. and Lester Galloway.
Funeral services were Monday, January 3, 2005, at Westbrook Funeral Home with burial in Butlerville cemetery.

Lucy Faye Vincent
Lucy Faye Vincent, age 93, of Des Arc, died Thursday, December 30. Survivors include three sons, Billy, Thomas, and Logan; seven grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren.
Services were Saturday, January 1, at Garth Funeral Chapel with burial in Magnus cemetery at Wilburn by Garth Funeral Home.

Henry L. Hammond
Col. Henry L. Hammond, U.S. Army (Ret.) born in Hazen, March 18, 1922, died Saturday, December 25. He granduated from pharmacy school, the University of Mississippi; U.S. Army Field Service School; Command and General Staff College and Armed Forces Staff College. During 31 years of active duty, his awards and decorations include the Combat Medical Badge, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal, WWII Victory Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal (3 battle stars), United Nations Service Medal, Pacific Theater of Operations Ribbon (2 battle stars), Phillipine Liberation Ribbon, Phillipine Presidential Unit Citation, American Theater Ribbon, Army Occupation Ribbon, Phillipine Independence Ribbon. Following retirement he served as Executive Vice President, Army Medical Department Museum Foundation, Inc. from 1985 through completion of Phase III construction in 2003.
He was preceded in death by brothers Paul H. and H.E. Hammond and his first wife, Lillian Olson Hammond.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Maryjo (Jody) Hammond; daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Tom Richardson; daughter Paula Jeffery; step-daughter Holly Uhlik; and 5 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 6 at Sunset Funeral Home.
Committal service will follow at Fort Sam Houston National cemetery with full honors. In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to the AMEDD Museum Foundation, Box 8294, San Antonio, Texas 78208, or a charity of one’s choice.

Jeannie Bradley

March 2, 1923 - May 29, 2013
Jeannie Bradley, age 90, of Jacksonville went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, May 29, 2013. She was born March 2, 1923 in Corinth, Mississippi to the late Ray and Lucille Deason. She was a faithful member of Marshall Road Baptist Church where she served as a child care teacher for 25 years. She was a Godly, loving and caring mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Bradley, a daughter, Jean Bradley Singleton, and one son, Jack Bradley.
She is survived by her sons, Johnny Bradley and his wife Debbie of Jacksonville, Jimmy Bradley and his wife Beverly of Cabot, Jack’s wife Joan Bradley of Gadsden, Alabama, nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and the three great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2013 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home with Bro. Cliff Hutchins and Bro. Toby Talley officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Marshall Road Baptist Church 821 Marshall Road Jacksonville, Arkansas 72076.
