Bernice Ann (Gee) Snyder

Bernice Ann (Gee) Snyder of West Fork died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, at age 90.
She was born July 27, 1920, in Vernon, Texas, to Luther Calvin Gee and Martha Rozella Boles Gee. She married George Frederick Snyder on June 25, 1938, in Santa Fe, N.M. He was in the Civil Conservation Corps and they met at a CCC dance. They made their home in New Mexico, where four of their five daughters were born. They moved to West Fork around 1950, where they bought a small farm and had a fifth daughter. They enjoyed their farm and raised cattle and chickens. They enjoyed bowling, square dancing and gardening. Bernice raised a beautiful flower garden with a grand mix of flowers featuring iris and daylilies, and her daughters all inherited her love for gardening. People who have driven Highway 170 between West Fork and Devil’s Den State Park will remember her garden on a sharp curve in the road at the crest of the hill. She cooked meals for large family gatherings and for all holidays. Her whole family cherishes the memories of those times spent together.
Bernice was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years; her parents; two infant brothers, Kelly and Joe; and brothers Ralph, Ray, Knute and David Gee.
She is survived by a large family she was very proud of, and she often bragged about how many grandchildren, greats and great-greats she had. Survivors include five daughters: Martha Winn and husband Jim of West Fork, who with their daughter, Susan, and granddaughters Christy and Laura, cared for Bernice in her final months; Mary Snyder of Prairie Grove; Patty Vanderslice and husband David of Mount Vernon; Carole Snyder of West Fork; Sandra Capshaw and husband Benny of Seneca, Mo.
Grandchildren: Billy Winn and wife Kelly; James Winn; Susan Allman; Jennifer Cook and husband Kyle; Steven Pinkerton; Cindi Irish and husband French; Angie Brown and husband Wayne; David Fred Vanderslice and wife Charity; Cari Ruth and husband Jim; Robin Thomas and husband Derrick; Toni Fairman and husband Trey; George Goodman and wife Kris; Otis Goodman; Debi Wisdom and husband Brett; Bryan Capshaw and wife Denise; Mike Capshaw and wife Renee. Great-grandchildren Amanda King, Amber Winn, Alex Winn, Christy Leonard, Roxy Leonard, Daniel Leonard, Laura Leonard, Henry Pinkerton, Jake Brown, Sean Brown, Grant Brown, Harmony Henderson, P.J. Irish, Paul Irish, Rachele Rhodes and husband John, Ramanda Snow and husband Brandon, Neriah Ruth, Sadi Ruth, Lyla Ruth, Hannah Ruth, Joshua Ruth, Ezra Ruth, Levi Ruth, Tristan Thomas, Brittan Thomas, Cayden Thomas, Ivey Fairman, Alex Fairman, Nathan Mitchell, Jason Mitchell, Colton Goodman, Elijah, Bryden Capshaw, Brendan Capshaw, Addison Wisdom, Jaxson Wisdom, Carter Capshaw, and Truman Capshaw. Great-great-grandchildren: Madison King, Karyk McKillop, Brayden McKillop, Landon McKillop, Makaylah Ruth, Micah Ruth, Mason Burris, and Bethany Mitchell.
She is also survived by brother Dale Gee, brother Wayne Gee and wife Peggy, and sister Dorothy Gee.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Friday at Beard’s Funeral Chapel in Fayetteville.
Funeral is 10 a.m. Saturday at Beard’s with burial afterward at Friendship cemetery in West Fork. In lieu of flowers, donations to: AustimSpeaks, Attn. Delma Watkins, 86, of Fayetteville died Sunday June 13, 2010 in Fayetteville. She was born March 7, 1924 in St. Paul the daughter of Bud and Jessie Burnett Samples.
She was a homemaker and member of Greenland Free Will Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Millard Watkins in 1993.
She is survived by 2-sons, Everett Watkins, Doris of Fayetteville and Lonnie Watkins, Pat of Greenland; 1-daughter, Barbara Ramey, Marion of Greenland; 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1-great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday June 16, 2010 at Beard’s Funeral Chapel with Rev. Lester Shadrick officiating. Burial will be in Baptist Ford cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 - 7 PM at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Greenland Free Will Baptist Church or the Baptist Ford cemetery.

John Paul Wood
February 21, 1932 - May 17, 2010

INTERMENT: Fairview Memorial Gardens cemetery John Paul Wood, 78, of Fayetteville died Monday May 17, 2010 in Fayetteville. He was born February 21, 1932 in Blackoak, AR, the son of Ezra Lawson and Ilda Phillips Wood.
He was a member of Grace Evangel Chapel Church in Greenland; retired Fayetteville Policeman for 20 years and owned Paul’s Tractor Shop for 30 years. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Vonda J. Wood.
Survivors include his wife, Ruthie Wood of the home; 2-sons, Paul J.W. Wood and wife, Lavinna of Springdale and Rocky L. Wood and wife, Kathy of Fayetteville; 2-sisters, Linda Kitchens of Lawton, OK and Lorna Wilson of Springdale; grandchildren, Christy Bailey, Eric Wood, Justin Wood, Cody Wood, Ashley Wood and Amy Wood; great-grandchildren, Mikayla Wood, Lane Maul, Gavin Wood, Samuel Bailey and Rhys Wood who will arrive in August.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday May 19, 2010 in Beard’s Chapel in Fayetteville with Roger Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 - 7 P.M. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Grace Chapel Church of the local Alzheimer’s Association.

Meldean Doris Wood, 68, of Fayetteville died Friday July 2, 2010 at the Circle of Life Hospice. She was born June 21, 1942 in Marion, Ohio, the daughter of Almen Paul and Doris Lorraine Joy Goodwin.
She worked in Alternations in several different Department Stores in the area and also a member of Grace Fellowship Church in Tontitown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray Wood.
Survivors include her two sons, John Howard Wood of the home and Gerald Paul Wood and wife Christi of Springdale and her daughter, Melinda Dunlap and husband Oran of Fayetteville. 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at Beard’s Funeral Chapel in Fayetteville with Reverends Ron Felling and Johnny Case officiating. Burial will be in the Baptist Ford cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5 - 7 P.M. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the account of Meldean D. Wood at Highland’s Oncology in Fayetteville.

LaVerne R. Yearian, 73 of Fayetteville died Monday August 9, 2010 at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. She was born August 5, 1937 in DeWitt, Arkansas the daughter of Carroll and Marguerite Wegert Robertson.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, William Yearian of the home; 1-son, Will Yearian and wife, Rhonda of Little Rock; 1-granddaughter, Lauren Yearian of Little Rock; 1-brother, Carroll Alvin Robertson Montgomery, AL; 1-sister, Maxine Wagner of Henderson, NV.
Cremation will be by Beard’s Funeral Chapel and cremains will be buried in the Bayou Meto cemetery in DeWitt.

Clyde Wilbur Billings

Clyde Wilbur Billings, 64, of Fayetteville died Wednesday October 20, 2010 at Fayetteville. He was born July 27, 1946 in Summit, Arkansas the son of Van and Eula Hardin Billings. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War; attended and graduated from Farmington Schools. He worked for Farmington Schools in the maintenance department.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Truman, Virgil, Ulis, Cleve and Everett Billings; His sisters, Louise Latham, Lazelle Willsey and Lucia Gideon; 2-half-sisters, Ruth Johnson and Ruby Patterson.
Survivors include 1-brother, Farrell Billings of Flippin, AR; 3-sisters, Ethna Billings, Vanetta Dunn both of Fayetteville and Charlsie Billings of Farmington; sister-in-law, Viva Billings of Farmington; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday October 23, 2010 at Beard’s Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Farmington cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
Family request that following the interment at the cemetery all friends and family bring a potluck dish to Clyde’s home for food and fellowship.

Linda Gail Bradley, 62, of Elkins died Monday September 13, 2010 at home.
She was born February 14, 1948 in Tallassee, Alabama the daughter of Leonard Dale Kidder Sr. and Nellie L. Allen. She attended the First Assembly of God Church in Lincoln and retired as a Home Health Provider.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Bradley of the home; 2-daughters, Deanna Stansell and husband, Timothy and Kelly Laird and husband, Shane all of Elkins.
3-brothers, Leonard Kidder Jr., Jim Kidder and Fred Kidder all of Opelika, Alabama; 1-sister, Patricia Diane Owens of Lincoln; 4 grandchildren and 1-great-grandchild.

Lynna Dale Copeland, 69, of Fayetteville died Friday October 1, 2010 in Fayetteville. She was born March 14, 1941 in Salinas, California the daughter of Jack and Reba Payne Tunnell.
She worked as a Practical Nurse for Circle of Life Hospice and attended Christian Life Cathedral.
She was preceded in death by parents and sister, Anita Thompson.
She is survived by her daughter, Kerrie Brady of Lincoln; 3 sons, Jimmy Smith of Prairie Grove, Billy Smith of West Fork and Michael Smith of Fayetteville; several grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; 2- sisters, Carole Stone of Fayetteville and Judy Hawley of Siloam Springs; several nieces and nephews.
Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Beard’s Funeral Chapel of Fayetteville.

Carolyn Cox, 68, of Springdale died Tuesday August 3, 2010 at her home. She was born July 13, 1942 in Joplin, Missouri the daughter of Arthur and Lillie Cypert Wise.
She was retired Office Manager for Springdale Winair and was one of the first women who made her career in the heating and air business knew the business very well. She was an avid bowler and loved water-skiing and loved the lake. She was an artistic person, painting, decorating her house and other people’s houses when asked to help.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Marilyn Norris. She is survived by her husband, Phil Cox of the home; 2 - nieces, Ginny Hole of Carthage, Missouri and Melanie Ghramm of Richey, Missouri.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday at Beard’s Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dick Jebsen officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
Cremation will follow services.
