Dorothea J. Riffel
Dorothea J. Riffel passed away in Houston, Texas on April 9, 2003. She is survived by husband, E. Duane Riffel; children, Douglas, North Little Rock, AR, Dennis, North Kansas City, MO, Bradley, Canton, Ohio, and Kathy Herriman, Fayetteville, AR; sisters, Elaine Korb, Stockton, KS, and Joan Owens, Houston, Texas; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
She and her husband were former residents of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas. She served as a Hospice volunteer and was active in the formation of a Hospice group which is now Outreach in the Hills. She served as President of this group for one year.
Memorial services will be held at the Holiday Hills Methodist Church in Greers Ferry AR, Friday, April 25 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Denzil Stokes officiating. The family requests no flower memorials. Donations may be made to the women's group at the First Presbyterian Church, 100 S. Gutenson Road, Sprindale, AR, 72762-3810. Cora Clytee Pryor
Cora Clytee Pryor, 88, of Clinton passed away April 6, 2003 in Ozark Health Nursing Center. She was born November 6, 1914 in Ada, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Bart and Celia Brown Loftis. She was a retired salesperson for a Department Store, a homemaker and a member of Clinton Church of Christ. She was the widow of Jacob Henry Pryor, and predeceased by her daughter Sue Smith.
Cora is survived by three sisters, Pauline Cooksey of Elk City, OK; Maude Counsell of Whichita, Kansas; and Rhoda Sebastian of Davenport, Iowa; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren and one great-great-great grandchild. Services were held Tuesday, April 8, 2003 in Clinton Church of Christ with Interment at Hunter Hill cemetery. Henry Pipkin officiated. Acting pallbearers were Cale Smith, Steve Smith, Richard McCormac, Terry Drew, Bob Belonie, and Benton Allen Sr.

Raymond Walter Morgan
Raymond Walter Morgan, 69, of Clinton, Arkansas passed away April 1, 2003. He was born July 25, 1933 in Lafe, Arkansas, the son of the late Julian Herbert Morgan and Elsie Elonia Walls Morgan. He was preceded by one sister, Madge Seink, and three brothers, Eugene, Mildred "Ted", and Herman Morgan. Raymond was retired from highway and roadway construction, and of Pentecostal faith.
He is survived by two daughters: Tami Bramlett of Clinton and Paula Kirkendoll of Shirley; two sisters, Maxine Campbell, of Paragould, AR and Wava Twitty of Marmaduke, AR; a brother, J.W. Morgan of Washington; seven grandchildren: Jody Bramlett, Brandi Thomas, Dana Bramlett, Brittany Bramlett, Cortni Tacker, Rachel Kirkendoll, and Jacob Kirkendoll; seven great-grandchildren: Cole Bramlett, Kelcey Bramlett, Gage and Garrett Thomas, Mia and Richard Tacker, and Ethan Johnson.
Services were Friday April 4, 2003 in Roller McNutt Chapel with James Lovell officiating.
Arrangements were by Roller McNutt of Clinton.
H. E. Burns
H. E. Burns, 59, of Fairfield Bay, died April 3, 2003 at Van Buren County Hospital, born November 6, 1943 to the late Homer Burns and Ethel Clark Burns in Gentry, Arkansas.
He was of the Pentecostal faith and a member or Tabernacle of Praise in Shirley, Arkansas. H. E. was a carpenter and a Army National Guard Reserve.
He is survived by his wife Charvella Liles Burns, one son of E. Burns Jr. and wife Charlotte of Rogers, AR, four daughters: Carolyn Bell and husband John of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, Shannon Perry and husband Doug of Heber Springs, Dawn Newman and husband Tye of Howell, MI, Brandi Tessier and husband Scott of Fenton MI. Three brothers: Henry Burns of Washburn, MO, Mick Burns of Seligman, MO, Bob Burns of Washhurn, MO; sisters Evelyn Sullivan of Bee Branch, AR, Mayo Rose of Eureka Springs, AR, Rachel Ash of Garfield, AR. Eleven grandchildren numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Homer Burns and mother Ethel Clark Burns, one brother, James Burns and two sisters, Joyce Burns and Lillian Banks.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 5 at Bishop-Griffin Funeral Home of Greenbrier, with Bro. Eugene Rose, Bro. George Azar and Bro. Shane Tharp Officiating.
Pallbearers were his nephews. Honorary Pallbearers were Dennis Liles, Darin Liles, James Payne and Brother Thomas Carpenter.

Hollis Ruth Clayton
Hollis Ruth Clayton, 89, of Leslie, Arkansas passed away March 31, 2003 in Clinton. She was born May 15, 1913 at Chimes, Arkansas, the daughter of the late George & Docia Hefner Clutts. She was the widow of Rual Clayton, a homemaker and a Baptist.
She is survived by two sons: Jerry and wife Margaret Clayton of Leslie, Arkansas; Robert and wife Bonnie Clayton of Tieton, Washington; a daughter, Delores and husband Gene Love of North Little Rock, Arkansas; and five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Services were held Thursday, April 3, 2003 at 2 p.m. in Liberty Church and cemetery with Dean Housley officiating.
Acting pallbearers were Mark Love, Clyde Aday, Larry Housley, Paul Estlingaum, Larry English and Benjamin Foster.
Luella M. Briggs
Luella M. Briggs, 89 of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas passed away March 24, 2003 in Heber Springs. She was born May 4, 1913 in Chicago, Illinois to John and Eleanor Kauhen Kautz. She was a retired owner-operator in the motel business, a homemaker and member of the Faith Lutheran Church. Survived by three sons and daughter-in-laws, John Hlinak of Fairfield Bay, AR; Paul and Mary Hlinak of Genoa City, Wisconsin; James and Janet Hlinak of Farmington, Michigan; one brother, John Kautz of Fairfield Bay, AR; one sister Eleanor Schriever of Arizona; several grand and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Friday, March 28 at 11 a.m. in the Faith Lutheran Church of Fairfield Bay with David Krause officiating.

Richard E. Becker
Richard E. Becker, age 72, of Monroe, WI died Thursday, March 13, 2003 at the Williams. Middleton Veterans Hospital in Madison, WI following a short illness.
Richard was born January 11, 1931 in Melrose, WI the son of Virgil and Bernice (Letson) Becker. Richard graduated from Madison Business College in 1953 and was united in marriage to Dorothy Gonzagowski on November 3, 1956. Mr. Becker was employed as an accountant for the Swiss Colony in Monroe, WI retiring in 1993. Richard and Dorothy moved to Fairfield Bay, AR in 1993 and returned to Monroe in November of 2001. He was a member of St. Victor's Catholic Church of Monroe, an active member of the Knights of Columbus Monroe Council # 1471 and also the 4th Degree Blackhawk Assembly #2464.
Survivors include his wife Dorothy of Monroe; three sons, Michael (Dawn) Becker of Minneapolis, MN, Gary (Susan) Becker, and Thomas (Christina) Becker, all of Monroe; five grandsons: Ryan, Daniel, Jonathan, Benjamin, and Noah Becker: his mother, Bernice Becker of Hixton, WI, a brother, Ray (Lois) Becker of Blair, WI; and a sister, Lois (Dean) Gray of Baraboo, WI. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Lynn Becker.
A mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, March 17, 2003 at St. Victor's Catholic Church, Monroe with internment in Calvary cemetery, Monroe.
A memorial service for Richard will be held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church 250 Woodlawn Drive, Fairfield Bay, AR.
Bernice J. Crawford
Mrs. Bernice J. Crawford of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas passed away Sunday, February 23, 2003 at the Indian Rock Village in Fairfield Bay. Born in Muscatine, Iowa on February 17, 1910, Mrs. Crawford was 93 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Jeanne (Keller) Horst.
Bernice was a registered nurse and graduated from nurses training at the Benjamin Hershey Memorial Hospital of Muscatine, Iowa in 1929. She married
Dr. Anton F. Beisner of Muscatine, Iowa on August 13, 1930. In 1949 they moved to Webster City, Iowa where they lived until the death of Dr. Beisner in April of 1964. Bernice returned tot he nursing profession from 1964 to 1972. On November 26, 1972 she married
Homer E. Crawford and they lived at Webster City, Iowa until moving to Fairfield Bay Arkansas in 1976.
She had served as Blood Service Chairman for Van Buren County for the American Red Cross, working at the blood pressure clinic at Fairfield Bay. She was a member of the Fairfield Bay United Methodist Church, United Methodist women, Arts and Crafts, Library Volunteers and Lakeview Chapter 609 of the Order of the Eastern Star at Edgemont.
Mrs. Crawford is survived by her grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. A memorial service will be announced at a later date by Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc.
Leo P. Wilson
Leo P. Wilson, 86 Fairfield Bay died Friday, February 14, 2003 in his home after a battle with cancer. He was born in Carlisle, Arkansas. Eld. Wilson was a retired Missionary Baptist pastor, having served in the ministry over 55 years in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Arkansas. He received his Masters Degree in Bible Languages from the Missionary Baptist Seminary in Little Rock in 1952. He was active in the American Baptist Association and the Baptist Missionary Association, serving as Moderator in both associations in Illinois and Michigan and as editor of the Midwest Baptist newspaper. He was an active member of the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Clinton, Arkansas. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army in the Aleutian Islands, Germany and Austria. He was a member of the American Legion in Marianna, Arkansas. He is survived by Pearl F. (Ward) Wilson, his wife of over 60 years; two daughters of Fairfield Bay, Willa and Bud Wells, their 6 sons and 14 grandchildren; Ruby and Jerry Henderson, their 3 children and 8 grandchildren; one son, Phillip and Orajean Wilson of Little Rock and their 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, two sisters, many nieces and nephews and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, a sister, a half-sister, and a grandson.
Services were at the Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Clinton, Arkansas with Eld. David Ward, nephew and Eld. Dean Housley officiating. Burial will be at Woodland Memorial cemetery, Fairfield. Memorials may be made to the Building and Repair Fund of the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, Clinton.
Mary E. Farnsworth
Mary E. Farnsworth, 73, of Shirley passed February 21, 2003.
Survivors include four sons Richard, Gerald, Terry and Ton Farnsworth; daughter Mary Farnsworth; sisters Gloria Myers & Evelyn Hornback and three grandchildren.
Memorial service was held February 23, 2003 at 10:45am at the Cornerstone Evangelical Church in Fairfield Bay.

Odie Evelyn Standley
Odie Evelyn Standley went home to be with the Lord, on Sunday, May 11, 2003. Born March 24, 1930 to Early Jame (Oliver) McCasland and the late Dempsey Sawyer McCasland, of Leslie, Arkansas. She was the beloved wife of Robert L. Standley for 54 years. She leaves to mourn her loss, her children, Mary Ann Black (Alfred), Robert James Standley (Kelli), Donald Gene Standley (Jackie), Elizabeth Lynn Small (Warren), William Jeffrey Standley (Julie), Cristi Jane Toland (Robin). She was preceded in death by her son, Alan Keith Standley. She also leaves thirteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She was a Christian woman and a housewife. She is also survived by her brother, Jimmie Paul of Texas, Jearid of Wyoming and Dale McCasland of Clinton. Preceding her in death were sisters, Helen Massey and Billie Sue Green. Services were provided by the Roller-McNutt Funeral Chapel on May 14, at 3 p.m. The interment was held at Canaan cemetery in Marshall with Alan Rolen officiating. Pallbearers were David Adam Black, Joe wilson, Keith Wilson, James Keck, Tyler Standley, Josh Standley, Bryan Standley.
Gregory Joseph Haislip
Gregory Joseph Haislip, 28, passed away Monday, May 19, 2003, at his home in Ardmore, OK. He was a graduate of Shirley High School. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Louise Haislip. He is survived by his wife, Jody, two step-daughters, one step-grandson, of Ardmore, OK; his father, Angelo and step-mother, April Haislip of Shirely, AR; brother, Angeolo Haislip Jr. of Michigan; Grandmother, Florence Haislip of Shirley; and a host of family and friends. We would also like to say a very special Thank You to all the hospice workers and family and friends that took such great care of him in his time of need and transition and most especially to his wife, Jody, with all our Love. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at St. Francis Catholic Church, in Fairfield Bay at 9 a.m. A memorial Fund has been set up for his family.
