Carl E. Moseley

LITTLE ROCK - Carl Edward Moseley, 69, of Little Rock, formerly of Hot Springs, died Friday, April 30, 1999.

He was a retired salesman, Korean War veteran and member of First Baptist Church of Shannon Hills.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Tugwell Moseley; three daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Donnie Van Cleve of Guy, Melanie and Bob Rader of Hot Springs and Carlyn and Duane Toki of Mabelvale; three grandchildren, Jason and Morgan Kellar and Dillon Toki; four step grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday in the Griffin, Leggett, Healey and Roth chapel, 5800 W. 12th St., Little Rock, with the Revs. Larry Childers and Gene Davis officiating.

Burial will be in Pinecrest cemetery.

visitation is from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Memorials may be made to the VNA Hospice, P.O. Box 55026, Little Rock, AR 72215, or First Baptist Church of Shannon Hills, 10701 Shannon Hills Drive, Mabelvale, Ark.

Ervin Nation

Ervin Nation, 82, of Hot Springs died May 2, 1999, in a local hospital.

Arrangements are by Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.

Ambrose C. Shaw

ARKADELPHIA - Ambrose Cash Shaw, 78, of Arkadelphia died Sunday, May 2, 1999, in a Little Rock hospital.

Born in Arkadelphia April 18, 1921, to Madge Cash Shaw and Ambrose Newton Shaw, he retired as a colonel from the U.S. Air Force after 28 years. A pilot, he served during World War II and the Korean War. After retirement, he was registered land surveyor in Clark County, member of First United Methodist Church and secretary and treasurer of the 493rd Bomb Group Memorial Association.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Ann Shepherd Shaw of Arkadelphia; a daughter, Susan Shaw Estes and her husband, Ned, of Decatur, Ala.; a brother, James Edward Shaw of Eugene, Ore.; and two grandchildren, Brian Estes of Decatur and Karen Estes of Americus, Ga.

Services with full military honors will be 2 p.m Wednesday in Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Gary Turner officiating.

Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, the American Cancer Society or 493rd Bomb Group Memorial Association.

Edna C. Wilson

Services for Edna Corine Wilson, 74, of Hot Springs who died Thursday, April 29, 1999, are 11 am. Monday in Gross Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Don Sanders officiating.

Pallbearers will be David Caldwell, Bill Sanders, Al Marti, bobby Harvey, Pate Avant and Walter Sternberg.

Honorary pallbearers are St. Joseph's Regional Health Center, 2 East, and Dr. Richard Gardial.

Burial is at Ten Mile cemetery, Lonsdale.

Othel Clark

Othel Clark, 68, of Hot Springs died Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999, in a Little Rock hospital.

He was born Aug. 13, 1931, in Havana.

Survivors include his wife, Norma Clark of Hot Springs; three daughters, Donna Clark and Jeanie Holliday, both of Hot Springs, and Theresa Clark of Mulbery, Fla.; two brothers, John Clark of Austin and Bill Clark of Bebee; one sister, Betty Sittler of Bebee; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Arrangements are by Gross Funeral Home.

Olen O. Gdner

ODEN - Olen Othel Gdner, 80, of Oden died Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999, in a Mount Ida nursing home.

Born Feb. 3, 1919, in Opal to Grover and Era Lawrence Gdner, he was a U.S. Army World War II veteran and deacon at Little Hope Baptist Church. He was predeceased by two sons, Dennis Gdner and Keith Gdner, and two brothers, Boyd Gdner and Ossel Gdner.

Survivors include his wife, Imarie Gdner of Oden; one son and two daughters-in-law, Travis and Nancy Gdner of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Patricia Gdner of Mena; one daughter, Sandra Burrow of Oden; one brother and sister-in-law, G.S. and Jane Gdner of Las Vegas; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mildred and George Simpson of Henderson, Texas, and June and Harold Powell of Benton, La.; and five grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Weekend at Little Hope Baptist Church with Brothers Mike Simpson and Andy Kennedy officiating.

Pallbearers will be Freddy Powell, Vic Gdner, Darwin Simpson, Mark Gdner, Jim Gdner and Greg Simpson.

Honorary pallbearers are Mr. and Mrs. Ode Maddox, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Wimberly, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Walker, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Walker, Mr. and Mrs. Arlie Fryar, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Don Monk, Margie Lewis, Loretta Hatfield, Raymond Lenard, Hurstle Little, Bryan Wann and Montgomery County Nursing Home staff, Dr. Jimmy Barrow and staff and Little Hope Baptist Church members.

Burial will be in Pine Ridge cemetery.

Arrangements are by Beasley-Wd Funeral Home, Mena.

R.F. Irons

R.F. Irons, 62, of Hot Springs died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999.

Born Feb. 2, 1937, in Washita Community, Montgomery County, to Rector F. and Mollie Whisenhunt Irons, he was a retired Greyhound bus driver, spent several years in law enforcement and was a member of Second Baptist Church. He was predeceased by three brothers, Loyd Irons, Carrol Irons and Everett Irons, and one sister, Catherine Mattar.

Survivors include three brothers, Henry Irons of Hot Springs, Floyd Irons of Story and Jeff Irons of Fort Smith; one sister, Loretta Latta of Hot Springs; nieces; and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Weekend at Washita cemetery with the Rev. Roger Harper officiating.

Arrangements are by Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwd.

Carl L. Rae

MOUNT IDA - Carl L. Rae, 63, of Mount Ida died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999, in a Hot Springs hospital.

Born Aug. 8, 1936, in Denver to Stanley Allison and Charlotte Isofene Chase Rae, he was predeceased by one brother, Jack Rae.

Survivors include his wife, Priscilla Short Rae of Mount Ida; six sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie and Andrea Williams, Rick and Cherrye Williams, Bart and Karen Williams, Greg and Sheila Rae and Matt and Deena Rae, all of Mount Ida, and David and Lori Williams of Denver; two daughters, Cynthia A. Ck of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and Pamela S. Hansford of Denver; one brother, Bill Rae; three sisters, Jean Carraghar, Carolyn Allen and Mary Jones; 19 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be 2 p.m. Weekend at Mount Ida cemetery with Brother Bruce Short officiating.

Pallbearers will be Cloyd E. Williams, Richard W. Williams, Stanley B. Williams, David W. Williams, Gregory A. Rae and Carl M. Rae.

Honorary pallbearers are Jim Blair, Anthony Lewis, Bob Sims, George Forthman, Waymon Scott, Merle Robbins, Marvin “Hot Dog” Thew, Danny Gwinn, Tony Tackett, Joe Baldwin, Bill Barnes, Jerry Wheeler, Jim Martin, Russ Carmack, Neal “Wormy” Thomas, Cecil Jones, Gordon Smith, Dewitt Forga, Arkansas Wildlife officers, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Montgomery County Arkansas State Police, Mount Ida Police Department and Mountain Harbor staff.

Ethel L. Tolson

NIXON, Texas - Ethel L. Tolson, 81, of Nixon, Texas, formerly of Hot Springs, died Monday, Oct. 4, 1999.

Born July 12, 1918, at Salem, Ohio, she was a retired bkkeeper and Baptist. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Alice Charnesky Lantz, and two sisters.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Ed Sullivan of Nixon; two grandchildren, Sherri Sullivan and Jennifer Drumm; one great-grandchild; nieces; and nephews.

Burial was Wednesday, Oct. 6, in Nixon cemetery with the Rev. Dana Hamilton officiating.

Memorials may be made to charity of donor’s choice.

Arrangements are by Finch Funeral Chapel.

Mae S. Cke
Mae S. Cke, 82, of Hot Springs died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999.

Born Sept. 18, 1916, at LaSalle, Ill., she was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Cke, one sister, Pearl Gang and one brother, Oscar Mayer.

Survivors include one sister, Ruth Minkoff of Phoenix; four nephews, Howard Minkoff of Morton Grove, Ill., Myron Minkoff of Chicago, Gary Gang of Lombard, Ill., and Mark Mayer of Wheeling, Ill.; one niece, Melody Sanderson of Buffalo Grove, Ill.; several great nieces and nephews; and several great-great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Little Rock National cemetery with Rabbi H. Wagman officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

Arrangements are by Gross Funeral Home.

Lena Davidson

GLENWD - Services for Lena Davidson, 82, of Glenwood, who died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Glenwd United Methodist Church with the Rev. Glen Harris officiating and 11 a.m. Thursday at Maple Grove cemetery, Bluffton, Ohio.

Pallbearers will be Mike Jacobson, Tom Rivers, Joe Hall, Jake Hall, Justin Hall, Tony Arkeilpane and Joey Arkeilpane.

Memorials may be made to Glenwd United Methodist Church.
