GRANBURY, Texas - Merredith Smithhart, 62, of Granbury, Texas, died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2003.

Born Feb. 26, 1940, at Long Beach, Calif., to Clifton Charles and Evelyn Deaton Buck, she was a Federal Aviation Administration E.M.D.O.-42 office manager and member of Acton Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Owen Ray Smithhart of Granbury; one son, Michael McLaughlin of Granbury; one daughter and son-in-law, Donna Rene and Troy Bacon of Fort Worth, Texas; one grandson, Matthew Owen Holcomb; her mother of Bonnerdale; one sister, Linda Pitt of Fort Worth; one brother, Charles Buck of Fort Worth; her mother-in-law, Naomi Smithhart of San Saba, Texas; nieces; and nephews.

The service will be 2 p.m. Monday in Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, Bonnerdale, with Brother Donis Smead officiating.

Burial will be in Mazarn Chapel cemetery.

Arrangements are by Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwd.

Donald E. Stevens
HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE - Donald Edgar Stevens, 88, of Hot Springs Village died Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, in a Hot Springs hospital.

Arrangements will be announced by CedarVale Funeral Home.

Arthur L. Wallace
Arthur L. Wallace of Brmall, Pa., died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2003.

He was born in Hot Springs.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Joan E. Snyder Wallace; one daughter, Sandra L. Vincent Maffei; two grandchildren; and one brother, Harold Wallace of Arkansas.

The service and burial will be private.

Memorials may be made to Arthritis Foundation, 219 North Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19107.

Arrangements are by D'Anjolell Memorial Homes.

Debra L.J. Alexander
Debra Lynn Johnson Alexander, 43, of Hot Springs died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, in a local hospital.

Born Dec. 19, 1959, at Barnesville, Ga., she was a homemaker and member of Saline Baptist Church. She was predeceased by one brother, Ricky Ozment.

Survivors include her husband, Victor Alexander; three sons, Victor Alexander III and Tim Johnson, both of Hot Springs, and Jason Alexander of Warren; two daughters, Christy Vanlandingham of Monticello and Brandy Brewer of Hot Springs; her mother and stepfather, Brenda and Derrel Ozment of Sumpter; her father, Charles Johnson of Newnan, Ga.; her grandmothers, Lurean Ozment of Sumpter and Dorothy Murphy of Grantville, Ga.; two brothers, Bobby Ozment of Warren and Charles Johnson of Grantville; two sisters, Connie Gill of Banks and Cindy Colquitt of Newnan; and three grandchildren.

The service will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Frazer's Funeral Home chapel, Warren.

Burial will be in Outlaw cemetery, near Sumpter.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Claudia I. Cley
Claudia Ilean Cley, 81, of Hot Springs died Monday, March 31, 2003, in a local hospital.

Born Oct. 23, 1921, at Murfreesboro to William Francis and Lillie Riddle Jackson, she was Baptist and retired. She was predeceased by her husband, David Cley; and four brothers, Troy Jackson, Roy Jackson, Floy Jackson and Coy Jackson.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Sherry Cley and Bill and Kristyn Cley, all of Hot Springs; one daughter and son-in-law, Nella and Phil Watson of Hot Springs; one brother, Glen Jackson of Bay Point, Calif.; one sister, Louise DeBeck of Greenwd, S.C.; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

The service will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Gross Funeral Home chapel with Brother Johnny Webb officiating.

Pallbearers will be Don Wade Cley Jr., Luther T. Treat Jr., Kody Cper, Kyle Cper, Rowdy Cley, Ben Riley, Taylor Duncan and Vladamier Huff.

Honorary pallbearers are Audrey Harp, Phil Watson, John Duncan, Chris Huff, Tyson Cley and Demietrius Huff.

Burial will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Murfreesboro cemetery, Murfreesboro.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Raymond J. Gussick
HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE - Raymond J. Gussick, 88, of Hot Springs Village died Monday, March 31, 2003, at home.

Born Oct. 25, 1914, at Chicago to Leo and Evelyn Mountford Gussick, he was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. He was predeceased by his first wife, Ethel Mae Rosenbach Gussick; and one grandson, Daniel Leist.

Survivors include his wife, Fay Gussick of Hot Springs Village; one son, Daniel Gussick of Colorado; four daughters, Sandra Blaker of Florida, Suzzy Scharles of Wisconsin and Sally Callas and Sidney Rehlek, both of Illinois; one stepson, Jack Mercer of Colorado; two stepdaughters, Cheri Lee of California and Kim Holub of Illinois; one sister, Ruth Sklodowski of Arizona; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Holy Trinity Episcopal Church with Vicar James R. McLean officiating.

The body will be cremated.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Village Green Bowls Club, c/o George Bell, 38 South Pego Way, Hot Springs Village, AR 71909.

Arrangements are by Caruth Village Funeral Home.

Ronald B. Hill
DALLAS - Ronald Benson Hill, 42, of Dallas died Friday, March 28, 2003.

Born July 30, 1960, at Texarkana, he was predeceased by his grandparents, George and Delores Murrell.

Survivors include his fiancee, Cynthia McKee; one son, Christopher Hill of Texas; two daughters, Cassidy Hill and Krysten Hill, both of Texas; his mother, Shirley Carter of Irving, Texas; his father, Billy Hill of Fort Worth, Texas; two sisters, Linda Jackson of Azele, Texas, and Tamara Myers of Mesquite, Texas; and four nephews.

The service will be 2 p.m. today in Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home chapel, Arkadelphia, with the Rev. Gary Turner officiating.

Burial will be in Richwds cemetery.

Loyd H. Horne
Loyd Harding Horne, 82, of Hot Springs died Monday, March 31, 2003, in a Conway hospital.

Born Nov. 17, 1920, at Blaine to James Wesley and Ruth Swain Horn, he was a member of Temple Baptist Church and U.S. Army World War II veteran. He was predeceased by two wives, Opal Horne and Kay Horne; one brother, Otis Horn; and two sisters, Ora Varnell and Gertrude Sparkman.

Survivors include two brothers and one sister-in-law, Boyce Horn of Hot Springs and Ray and Jean Horn of New Blaine; nieces; and nephews.

The service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Ten Mile cemetery, Lonsdale, with Pastor Todd Houck officiating. Military honors will be provided by Thaddeus H. Caraway VFW Post 2278.

Pallbearers will be Bud Gotherman, Tommy Bowen, Craig Erickenson, John Rogers, Robert O'Brian and Kenneth Mathis.

Visitation will be 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. today.

Arrangements are by Hot Springs Funeral Home.

Lois E. Hutzel
MALVERN - The service for Lois Elsie Hutzel, 88, of Malvern who died Sunday, March 30, 2003, will be 10 a.m. today in Gross Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Bob Clark officiating.

Pallbearers will be Tim Dixon, Jon Dixon, Jeffery Dixon, Charles Hutzel, Ronnie Kling and Aaron Gillham.

Honorary pallbearers are Jim Hughes, Drs. Gary Meek and Scott Erwin, Brother Joe Ck, Garland Edwards, Ronnie Teague, Loyd Hutzel Sr. and Donnie Asbury.

Burial will be in Morning Star cemetery.

Vida E.T. Nugent
HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE - Vida Estelle Turner Nugent, 89, of Hot Springs Village died Monday, March 31, 2003, in a Hot Springs Village nursing home.

Born Feb. 10, 1914, at Paducah, Ky., to Gip Napoleon and Willie Lee Smith Turner, she was a Nugent Traffic Association secretary and member of Village United Methodist Church, Grand Chapter Order of Eastern Star of Illinois, Razorback Club and original Fire House Gang. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel Eugene Nugent.

Survivors include two stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law, Daniel Eugene and Bonnie Nugent of Chicago and Bernard and Zina Nugent of Hot Springs Village; one stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Margie Ann and Henry Claeson of Chicago; one brother and sister-in-law, George William and Margie Turner of Hot Springs Village; one sister, Kitty Lee King of Hot Springs Village; nieces; nephews; two great-nieces; and one great-great-niece.

The service will be 2 p.m. today in Village United Methodist Church with the Rev. George Tanner officiating.

Burial will be in CedarVale cemetery.

Arrangements are by CedarVale Funeral Home.
