Noimia Isle Walker Roth

JONESBORO -- Noimia Isle Walker Roth, 89, of Jonesboro, formerly of Cherokee Village, died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006, at Ridgecrest Nursing Home. She was born in Argentine, Kan., to Ernal E. and Gertrude Lynett Isle. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Cherokee Village and was active in Cherokee Village civic organizations and as a community volunteer.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Dryden Walker and Earl Roth.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Beverly Marie Walker and Anthony Bartels Jr. of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Dr. Anthony William III and Martha Bartels of Jonesboro, Dr. Troy Dryden and Brigitte Bartels of Jonesboro, and Stephanie Marie and Greg Wallace, attorneys, of Fuquay-Varina, N.C.; and great-grandchildren, Hannah Wallace, Sam Wallace, Dryden Bartels, William Bartels IV, Walker Bartels and Caroline Bartels.

Rosary will be at 6 p.m. tonight at Emerson Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Richard Cleary officiating. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday morning at Holy Angels Convent Chapel with the Rev. Richard Cleary officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Grandchildren are to serve as pallbearers.

For those wishing to leave lasting memorials, the family requests that you please consider St. Bernard's Hospice or the American Cancer Society.

Kamryn Smith

RAVENDEN SPRINGS -- Kamryn Smith, infant daughter of Rodney and Jennifer Smith, died Tuesday at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Kolton, and two sisters, Kaylee and Kacey, of the home; grandparents, Donna Sims and Freddie Cox of Pocahontas, and Gary and Jeannie Smith of Ravenden; great-grandparents, Martha Cox of Annieville, Lovilla McClanahan of Blytheville, Dena Smith of Ravenden and Delma Guice of Searcy; and great-great-grandparents, Ruby Goodsell of Ravenden Springs and Stella Haney of Jonesboro.

Graveside services are at noon today at Bellah Cemetery near Ravenden Springs.

Bobbie Statler Swain

BLYTHEVILLE -- Bobbie Statler Swain, 64, of Blytheville died Tuesday, Jan. 10, at her home. She was a lifelong resident of Blytheville, retired legal secretary, and a member of Cole Ridge Baptist Church.

She leaves five brothers, Elsworth Statler of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Charles Statler of Salem, David Statler of Imboden, Jerry Statler of Millington, Tenn., and Larry Statler of Blytheville; and two sisters, Bonnie Carter and Joyce Statler of Blytheville.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Cobb Funeral Home at Blytheville with visitation from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Eva Dee Blocker

LEACHVILLE -- Eva Dee Blocker, age 91, widow of Mr. Lawrence "Jack" Blocker, died early Thursday at her home.

Born at Hollywood, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Walter and Bessie Kinchen Coburn and had been a Leachville resident for most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Leachville Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons, James Blocker of Rineyville, Ky., and Don Blocker of Mount Ida; four daughters, Edith Wachter of Huntsville, Ala., Wanda Burgin of Perryville, Carolyn Klucke of Woodriver, Ill., and Darlene Hetler of Leachville; one sister, Mrs. Eula Defries of Benton Harbor, Mich.; 25 grandchildren; and many great- and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville, with David Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in LuLu Cemetery near Senath, Mo. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive visitors from 6-8:30 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.

Thelma Brandon

NEWPORT -- Thelma Brandon, age 73, of Newport died Jan. 6, 2006, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro. She was a housewife and a member of St. Paul AME Church in Tuckerman.

She is survived by eight sons, Roosevelt Brandon, Donnie Brandon, Albert Brandon, Edgar Brandon, Richard Brandon and Robert Brandon, all of Newport, Chester Brandon of Peoria, Ill., and Dale Brandon of Orange, Va.; five daughters, Velma Johnson, Josephine Brandon, Alberta Brandon and Bessie Brandon, all of Newport, and Shirley Brandon of Las Vegas; five sisters, Lovine Brown of California, and Geneva Hawkins, Beatrice Bowson, Nettie Hardaway, and Willie Mae Hardaway, all of Augusta; three brothers, Robert Hardaway and Tommie Lee Hardaway, both of Newport, and Clemell Hardaway of Augusta; 35 grandchildren; and 106 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at noon on Saturday at Morning Star Baptist Church, with the Rev. Rickey Everett officiating and burial following in Mount Zion Cemetery at Shoffner.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. this evening at the church.

Edna Finley Burke

McDOUGAL -- Edna Finley Burke, 91, of McDougal passed away Jan. 12 in Piggott.

Survivors include two children, Worlene Parrish and Rick Finley, both of McDougal; eight grandchildren, Terry, Susan, Misty, Cindy, J., Mike, Ray, and Kelly; several great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren;

and one brother, Woodrow Adams of McDougal.

Funeral services are at 11 a.m on Saturday in Hoggard Chapel with Dr. Terry Parrish and Clay Parrish officiating. Burial will be in Post Oak Cemetery at McDougal. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is at 6 p.m. today.

Fayrene Catterton

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Fayrene Catterton, 77, of Gainesville, died Dec. 15, 2005. She was a teacher for Wynne Public Schools, retiring in 1987. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ, a Bible class teacher, and volunteer for the American Red Cross Blood Program.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Gene Catterton of Gainesville; daughters, Judy Thomas, Holly Allen and Gena Granberg; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial services are at 2 p.m. Sunday in Wynne Church of Christ. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Faynette Turpin Cross

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. -- Faynette "Faye" Turpin Cross, 63, of Southaven died Wednesday, Jan. 11, at Baptist DeSoto Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Born in Earle, Mrs. Cross was a 1961 graduate of Harrisburg High School. She also attended schools in Earle and Tyronza, Nettleton School in Jonesboro, and McCormick High School near Trumann before moving to Memphis in 1961. She worked for Color Craft and Memphis Folding Stairs for many years before moving to Eudora, Miss., and then to Southaven.

In addition to her husband, William A. Cross, she leaves one son, Kevin A. Cross of the home, and her mother, Mrs. Pauline Turpin of Jonesboro. Additional survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Barbara Olivier of Nashville, Tenn., Mrs. Wilma Jean Grammer of Eudora and Mrs. Gerri Farmer of Jonesboro; and two brothers, Danny Turpin and Jackie Turpin, both of Jonesboro.

She was preceded in death by her father, Orville Turpin, and two brothers. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Eudora Baptist Church.

Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. today at Eudora Baptist Church with Steve Albonetti officiating. Burial will follow at Goodrum Cemetery near Eudora.

Hernando Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Marie M. Davis

TRUMANN -- Marie M. Davis, 88, of Trumann died Thursday at Craighead County Nursing Center in Jonesboro of natural causes.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann.

Charles W. Donnelly Jr.

JONESBORO -- Charles W. Donnelly Jr., 82, died Wednesday, Jan. 11, at his residence.

Before moving to Jonesboro, he lived most of his life in Memphis and Little Rock. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, was a retired tile setter, and a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Omalea Lackey Donnelly of the home; five sons, Butch Donnelly of Little Rock, Mitchell Donnelly of Oklahoma City, Patrick Donnelly of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Benny Tolbert and Bobby Tolbert, both of Jonesboro; a daughter, Susan Jones of Jonesboro; a sister, Diane Elizabeth Kash of Houston; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a son, Barry Tolbert; his parents, Charles and Madelyn Hiskey Donnelly; a brother; and two sisters.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Roller-Farmers Union Chapel, with the Rev. Mark Wood and John Travis officiating. Burial will follow in Crossroads Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. Rosary will be at 8 p.m.

Pallbearers will include Fred Jones, Larry Jones, Norman Jennings, Brooks Hall, Randy Jones, and Lonnie Weston.

Honorary pallbearers will include A.D. Loveless, Roy Grant, Elvis Taylor, Bill Griffin, Charles Long, and Leon Gearhart.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Okla., 73123-1718.

Sylvia Myrtle Lewis

MAYNARD -- Sylvia Myrtle Lewis, 80, died Thursday in Randolph County Medical Center.

She was the widow of Virgil Vincent Lewis and is survived by two sisters, Ethel Lewis of Maynard and Georgia Bonds of Avondale, Ariz.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday morning at Ingram Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday at McNabb's.
