Wayne Cobb

LAKE CITY -- Wayne Cobb, 69, of Lake City, died Saturday, Jan. 14, at his residence.

He was born and raised in Lake City, where he spent his entire life. He was formerly employed by Singer Co. in Trumann for 25 years and Frolic Footwear in Jonesboro for 15 years. He retired from his lawn care service in 2002. He was a member of Elm Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Boyd Cobb of Lake City; one daughter, Dana Carter of Jonesboro; one brother, Leon Cobb of Manteno, Ill.; three grandchildren, Chad Cobb, Michelle Cobb and Sheena Thompson; and one great-grandchild, Aidan Thompson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Cobb on Jan. 8; his parents, William Hoyett and Emma Mae Beatrice Hurdle Cobb; a half-brother, Harold Cobb of McLeansboro, Ill.; and two infant children, James Royce Cobb and Tena Marie Cobb.

Pallbearers will be Jim Snyder, David Snyder, Alan Snyder, Chris Snyder, Scott Snyder and Brandon Snyder.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home Chapel, with Elvis Brandon officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Nickey Cornell Cunningham

HOUSTON -- Nickey C. Cunningham, 31, died Jan. 5, at Houston.

Raised in the Round Pond community, he was a truck driver and of the Baptist belief.

Surviving is his mother, JoAnn McShan Lyles of the home.

His father, Broadus Lyles, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Grace Chapel of Woodard Funeral Service of Jonesboro, with the Rev. Alphonzo Vincent officiating. Burial will follow in Paradise Gardens at Edmondson under the direction of Woodard Funeral Service.

Golda Parsley Jarvis

NEWPORT -- Golda Parsley Jarvis, 101, of Newport departed this life Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006.

She was born Dec. 10, 1904, at Evening Shade.

Mrs. Jarvis is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Mildred and John Sr. Minor of Newport and Dorothy and Ray Jr. Moseley of Walnut Ridge; four grandchildren, Lynne Connor, John Minor Jr., Susan Smith and Martha Vaughan; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Newport. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Jackson's Newport Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today.

Margie Lowry

KNOB -- Margie Lowry of Knob died Jan. 14, 2006, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.

She was born June 30, 1923, at Hardy. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Surviving are three sons, Joe Lowry and wife Connie of Knob, Terry Lowry and wife Helen of Paragould and Larry Hueter and wife Frances of Leachville; two daughters, Beckey Stanfill and husband Winston of Paragould and Kathy Riggan and husband Blue of Corning; four brothers, H.A. Scott Jr. of Corbin, Ky., Billy Scott of St. Louis, Muray Scott of Taft, Calif., and Millard Scott of Greers Ferry; grandchildren, Chris Shourd, Charlie Shourd, Amy Walker, Shanda Murray, Matthew Lowry, Greg Hueter and Kelli Harrel; and great-grandchildren Hannah Harrel, Dylan Walker and Alexis Murray.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Lowry; her parents, H.A. and Gladys Scott; and a sister, Willadene Scott.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Ermert Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greene County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation was from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Noah's Ark or Children's Home of Paragould.

Jimmy Lee Mitleff Sr.

CHERRY VALLEY -- Jimmy Lee Mitleff Sr., 56, of Cherry Valley died Friday, Jan. 13.

He was born at Cherry Valley, the son of Tony Sr. and Nellie Elsie Clem Mitleff.

Surviving are his wife, Clara "Susie" Mitleff; five sons; three daughters; five brothers; two sisters; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of Wynne. Interment will be in Vanndale Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Dellar Murry

OSCEOLA -- Dellar Murry, 93, of Osceola died Saturday, Jan. 14, at SMC Regional Medical Center in Osceola.

Born Jan. 24, 1912, at Wabbeska, she was a homemaker and a member of Freedom Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer.

Survivors include a niece, Mozetta Whitfield of Osceola; and three nephews, Luther Whitfield Jr. of Osceola, Alonzo McDonald of St. Louis and Frisco McDonald of Pine Bluff, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Murry; and her parents.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Osceola, with the Rev. Brian Dodson officiating. Burial will be in Whiteside Cemetery of Osceola. Wilson Funeral Home of Osceola is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at the funeral home.

Charles Ruminer

JONESBORO -- Charles Ruminer, 47, died Saturday, Jan. 14, in Jonesboro.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Gregg Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Shirley Thompson

POCAHONTAS -- Shirley Thompson of Pocahontas died Jan. 14, 2006, at Pocahontas.

She was born June 27, 1940, at Peach Orchard. She was united in marriage to Roger Thompson on June 29, 1957. She was a member of Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ in Pocahontas.

Survivors are her husband, Roger Thompson of Pocahontas; a daughter, Joy Nash and husband Dale of St. Charles, Ill.; a sister, Wilma Burton of Pocahontas; three grandchildren; four nephews; and a niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Newt and Mildred Stanage.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ermert Funeral Home of Corning, with the Revs. Howard Fry and Clarence Jenkins officiating.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today.

Fred Wineland

POCAHONTAS -- Fred Wineland, 69, of Pocahontas died Saturday, Jan. 14, at Pocahontas Healthcare and Rehab Center.

Survivors include four sisters, Alice Barnett, Mary Tyler, June Mack and Jane Patterson, all of Pocahontas; a brother, George Wineland of Bonita Springs, Fla.; several nieces and nephews; five children, Wahneta Cochran, Donna Whitlow and David, Tommy and Clifford Wineland; and several grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cox-Waymon Funeral Home, with the Rev. Nelson Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery at Pocahontas.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Demps Albert Adams

HECTOR -- Demps Albert Adams, 68, of Hector died Sunday.

He was born Sept. 24, 1937, in White County and was the son of the late Chess Albert and Mary Elizabeth Brewer Adams. He was also preceded in death by a son, David Adams; four brothers, Melvin, Junior, Chesley, and Jimmy Adams; and one sister, Lucy Armsteadt. He was of the Pentecostal faith.

He is survived by a son, Demps Lee Adams of Hector; a daughter, Kim Blagg of Trumann; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Creekmore of Trumann and Brenda Herring of Russellville; one brother, Cecil Adams of Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Monday, Jan. 23, at Mountain View Free Will Baptist Church, with the Revs. Bill Hampton and Hank Duvall officiating. Pallbearers were Donald Creekmore, Wayne Herring, Bobby Creekmore, Cecil Adams, Rodney Herring and Chesley Adams Jr.

Honorary pallbearers were Ray Creekmore and Charles Adams.
