Joe Calvin Faulkner

PARAGOULD -- Joe Calvin Faulkner was born May 24, 1926, to Lawrence and Taddie Faulkner of Powhatan. He departed this life Feb. 7, 2006.

He is survived by his wife, Betty J. Faulkner; one daughter, Kathy Faulkner; one son and daughter-in-law, Phillip Alan and Lana Faulkner; three grandsons, PJ, Zachary and Seth Faulkner, all of Paragould; two sisters, Carolyn Bilbrey and husband Edward of Smithville, and Glenda Bierk and husband Steven of Perryville, Mo.; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Faulkner of Walnut Ridge and Sally Faulkner of Paragould; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Joey M. Faulkner; two brothers, Lawrence Faulkner Jr. of Walnut Ridge, and Clyde Faulkner of Paragould; and one infant sister, Vivian Faulkner.

He was a member of Center Hill Church of Christ, where he had the privilege of serving as a deacon. He was a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, and he also served on the advisory board at Black River Technical College. He was chairman of the board of trustees for the Powhatan Cemetery for 22 years.

He was employed by Emerson Electric in Paragould, where he managed the Tool and Die Shop, and retired in 1989 as a manufacturing engineer.

Active pallbearers are Tony Cable, Steve Parker, Brent Renfrow, Kevin Rowe, Dan Stokes and Darrell Webb. Honorary pallbearers are the elders and deacons of the Center Hill Church of Christ.

Funeral services will be at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 4904 West Kingshighway in Paragould, on Thursday at 2 p.m. with Michael Cox and Gary Cremeens officiating. Burial will be in Powhatan Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6-9 at Phillips Funeral Home.

Lasting memorials may be made to Crowley's Ridge Academy or Paragould Children's Home.

Rosa Lee Fields

EGYPT -- Rosa Lee Fields, 74, of Egypt died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2006, at St. Bernard's Medical Center. She lived her entire life in the Jonesboro area. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

Survivors include sons Archie Floyd of Ennis, Texas, Tommy Lee Dotson of Scott, La., and David Dotson of Gulfport, Miss.; daughters, Rose Ann Smith and Lila Simmons, both of Egypt; grandchildren, Chris Dotson, Tony Dotson, Jeremy Dotson, Jennifer Carr and Josh Dotson, all of Jonesboro, Daphne Miller, Cameron Smith and Calvin Simmons, all of Egypt, Strider Floyd and Shannon Floyd, both of Texas, Shane Tacker of Jonesboro, Damien Floyd of Texas, and Chris Heggelund and Jodie Heggelund, both of Louisiana; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Pine Log Cemetery with the Rev. Monroe Baldwin officiating. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at Emerson Funeral Home.

Kenneth Brent Gibson

BONO -- Kenneth Brent Gibson, 45, of Bono died Saturday at Paul Switch near Bono.

Born in Jonesboro, Brent was a lifelong resident of Bono. He was a farmer and a member of the Church of Christ. Brent was a 1978 graduate of Westside High School and a 2000 Alumnus of The Hazelden Foundation.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Craft Gibson, and a by a nephew, Collin Davis.

Survivors include his wife, Valeria Dorton Gibson of the home, one son, Hunter Beau Gibson of the home; one stepdaughter, Ashlynn Long of Hoxie; his parents, Kenneth and Susie Gibson of Bono; one sister, Lisa Davis of Bono; two nieces, Bailey Davis and Erin Davis; and one nephew, Zane Dorton.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Jimmy Adcox, Kenny Tolbert, Kelly Craft and Tony Sauser officiating. Burial will follow in Trinity Cemetery.

Active pallbearers include Carlos Burdyshaw, Jamie Dorton, Lester Wilson, Paul Dement, Wes McBroome and Jim Felkins.

Honorary pallbearers include Blake Lane, Cody Sauser, Larry Felts, Benjamin Wilson, Jason Long, Kevin Davis, Kevin Craft, Andy Craft, Rohn Craft, Jesse Craft, Drew Craft, Jerry Glidewell, Theron Henderson, John French, Phil Holloway, Charlie Pratt, Stacey Crow, Bill Little, Randel Miller, and Michael Horton.

Visitation was held Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.

For lasting memorials, the family asks that consideration be given to The Brent Gibson Memorial Addiction Recovery Fund, Regions Bank, 2400 East Highland Drive, Jonesboro 72403; or to Crowley's Ridge Academy, 606 Academy Drive, Paragould 72450.

Ashleigh Michelle Kemp

KEISER -- Ashleigh Michelle Kemp, age 7, of Keiser died Monday, Feb. 6, 2006, at LeBonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis.

She is survived by her parents, one sister, her maternal grandmother and paternal grandparents.

Visitation will be at Roller-Swift Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at Roller-Swift Chapel at 3 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Todd Vinson officiating.

Burial will be at Tyronza Cemetery in Tyronza.

Edna Kolnik

HORSESHOE BEND -- Edna Kolnik, 89, of Horseshoe Bend passed away Monday, Feb. 6, 2006, in Salem.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Deborah Kolnik and John and Janice Kolnik; two sisters, Frances Kyle and Sister Mary Octavi; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Peter; daughter, Lorraine; two sisters; and three brothers.

Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Mount Catholic Church in Horseshoe Bend at 10 a.m. Feb. 10.

Arrangements are under the direction of Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel.

Allie Mae McMullin

IMBODEN -- Allie Mae McMullin, 76, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, at Randolph County Medical Center. Her parents, Charles Bailey and Nola Joseph Hufstedler, preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Ralph McMullin; a son, Gary McMullin Sr.; a grandson, Gary McMullin Jr., both of Pocahontas; and a stepgrandson, Kevin Berry of Mountain Home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with interment following in Old Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 tonight at McNabb Funeral Home.

Iva Maye White

BATESVILLE -- Iva Maye White, 80, died Monday, Feb. 6, 2006, at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. She was retired from White Rodgers in Batesville and a member of the Allen Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Batesville.

Funeral services will begin Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville. Burial will follow in the Egner Cemetery at Salado with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.

Visitation will be today from 5:30-8 p.m.

Jimmy Clay Woodral

JONESBORO -- Jimmy Clay Woodral, 19, of Jonesboro died Friday, Feb. 3, at his residence. Born in El Dorado, he lived his lifetime in Jonesboro and was a student at the Adult Learning Center. He was a Baptist and attended Grace Baptist Church.

Survivors include his mother, Lisa Gail Melton Woodral of Jonesboro; father, Jimmy Earl Woodral of Camden; son, Landen Clay Woodral of Jonesboro; fiance, Brittany Kirby of Jonesboro; grandparents, Yvonne and Sue Melton and Rob and Marie Miller, all of Jonesboro, and Peggy Woodral of Camden; great-grandparents, Sylvia Smith and Leona Short, both of Jonesboro; aunts and uncles, Glenda and Allen Gordon of Springfield, Chris and Tommie Sue Andrews of Vail, Ariz., Michael Melton, Bryan and Karen Barker, Cindy Holbrook and Jennifer Melton, all of Jonesboro, Homer Woodral, Bobbie Jean Thompson, Albert and Donna Woodral, all of Camden; several cousins; and godparents, Stan and Reba Waller.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, at Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro with the Rev. Stan Ballard officiating.

Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Honored to serve as active pallbearers are Daniel Coggins, Randall Coggins, Dalton Dunham, Shawn Foley, Michael Melton and Tommy Melton, and as honorary pallbearers, Stan Waller, Gary Peppers, Brian Langston and Stephen Mine.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 tonight at the funeral home.

James Rufus Conger

PARAGOULD -- James Rufus Conger, 91, of Paragould, died Saturday, Feb. 18 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center.

He was a farmer and a member of Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred; son, Donnie Conger of Paragould; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Lowell Eaton of Paragould; sisters, Luvine Hass of Marmaduke and Alta Wheatley and Della Brewer, both of California; two grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1-1:45 p.m. today. Services will begin at 1:45 p.m. at Heath Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hartsoe Cemetery.

Georgia Inez Creecy

TRUMANN -- Mrs. Georgia Inez Creecy, 67, of Trumann died Friday, Feb. 17, at NEA Medical Center in Jonesboro.

She was born in Paris, had lived in Trumann for the past 46 years and was formerly of Marked Tree. She was a retired employee of Singer Co. and worked at C & C Auto Sales after her retirement. She was of the Pentecostal faith.

Mrs. Creecy was preceded in death by two brothers and was the daughter of the late Earl and Ruby McDade Nichols.

Survivors include her husband, James Creecy of the home; one son, Jimmy Creecy of Trumann; seven sisters, Annabelle Campbell of Mulberry; Jeanett Walker of Boaz, Ala., Loretta Campbell of Jonesboro, Shirley Allison of Tyronza, Betty Austin of Mountain Home, Sharon Collins of Trumann and Patricia Raper of Blytheville; and four brothers, Earnest Nichols of Trumann, Leon Robinson of Osceola, Charles Nichols of Lake City and David Nichols of Okolona, Miss.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Thompson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Larry Tribble and the Rev. Huey Meherg officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery, with Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Moss, Larry Harrison, Donnie Taylor, Jerry Vinson, Joe Austin, Larry Davis, Troy Wilson and Robert Stearns.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.
