Cora Fay Brown

CAVE CITY -- Cora Fay Brown, 92, of Cave City died Thursday, April 6, 2006, at Batesville.

She was born June 21, 1913, at Lynn to Stanley and Lula Buttram Jones. She was a homemaker and a member of East Side Southern Baptist Church at Cave City.

Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 9, at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City, with Bro. Gary Wallace officiating. Burial is in Dry Creek Cemetery located south of Lynn with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Visitation is from 5-7 tonight.

Patricia June Brown

HAZELWOOD, Mo. -- Patricia June Brown, 62, of Hazelwood died April 6, 2006.

Survivors include two sisters, Beatrice Somers of Wright City, Mo., and Mae Willis of Marked Tree; three brothers, Pete Brown of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Dan Brown of Springfield, Mo., and Lonnie Brown of Warrenton, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors from 9 a.m. until time of memorial service at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, at Ermert Funeral Home in Corning. Interment will follow in the Williams Cemetery in Corning.

Mary Frankenberger

POCAHONTAS -- Mary Frankenberger, 96, died April 7, 2006.

She is survived by sons, Bob of Pocahontas, Jerry of LaVerne, Calif., and Don of Weleetka, Okla.; daughters, Dorothy Hoelscher of Pocahontas and Bernadine Blankinship of Gore, Okla.; brothers, Loe Bergman of Pocahontas and Antone Bergman of Little Rock; sister, Ann Lindner of Pocahontas; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services are at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Paul's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Thomas Marks officiating. Interment is in St. Paul Cemetery.

Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Monday at McNabb Funeral Home, with rosary at 7 p.m.

Stephan Randal Gates

WALNUT RIDGE -- Stephan Randal Gates, 39, died Thursday at Milan General Hospital in Milan, Tenn.

He was born in Pocahontas and was a lifetime resident of Lawrence County.

He was married to Aileen Crouse on March 25, 2006. He was a member of Alicia Baptist Church. He was employed by Arco Towers.

He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Gates, and a brother, Freddy Joe Gates.

He is survived by his wife, Aileen Crouse Gates; a son, Justin Gates; a daughter, Brandi Gates; his parents, Betty and Bobby Lee; brothers, David Gates, Bobby Gates, Kevin Lee, Rayburn Lee and Marty Lee; and sisters, Dianna Short and Cindy Morse.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at House-Gregg Chapel in Walnut Ridge. Officiating will be Monroe Baldwin. Burial will follow in Strangers Home Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 tonight at the chapel.

Tennie Johnson

JONESBORO -- Tennie Johnson, 96, of Jonesboro died April 6, 2006, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center. She was born Jan. 13, 1910, at Piggott, the daughter of the late Victor Wright and Nora Toombs Wright. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fonzie Johnson on Dec. 16, 1974; her parents; and two sisters, Myrl Hood and Mamie Nichols.

Survivors include her nephew, David Hood of Miami; two great-nephews, Dr. Jim Golden of Maumelle and Dr. Stephen Golden of Jonesboro; and one great-niece, Dr. Nickie Golden of Honolulu.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at McDaniel Chapel in Kennett, Mo., with Kathy Holler officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.

Pallbearers are Mike Ebbert, Steve Baker, Malcolm Culpepper, Dr. Stephen Lunde, Dr. Dan Johnson and Dr. Jim Golden. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Stephen Woodruff, Dr. Ryszarda Hejmej, Louisa Cox, Earnestine Andrews and Mike Morgan.

Visitation is Monday at 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.

John William Kieffner

LITTLE ROCK -- John William "J.W." Kieffner, 72, of Little Rock, formerly of Paragould, died Thursday, April 6, 2006, at UAMS.

Born Aug. 4, 1933, in Paragould, Mr. Kieffner was a retired draftsman for Timex, Little Rock, and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include two brothers, Alvis Kieffner of Paragould and Bob Kieffner of Newport; and four sisters, Ona Ruff of Forrest City, Daisy Young of Grand Blanc, Mich., Helen Cupp of Paragould and Imogene Wilmouth of Stockton, Calif. He is also survived by two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Kieffner was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Dr. Michael Kieffner; an by four brothers, Edman, Arthur, Elmer and Amos L. Kieffner.

Visitation will be from 6-8 tonight at Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, graveside, at Linwood Cemetery, with L.R. Smith officiating. The procession will leave Mitchell Funeral Home at 1:50 p.m. Sunday.

Wendy McAdams

NEWARK -- Mrs. Wendy McAdams, 33, of Newark died Wednesday at Batesville.

She was born Jan. 26, 1973, at Mobile, Ala.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank Hammons, Virginia O'Neal and Carl O'Neal.

Survivors include her husband, Bryan McAdams; her parents, Anthony and Brenda O'Neal; one sister, April Oliver and husband Casey; and grandparents, Freda Hammons and Harold and Ovaline Andrews.

Funeral services will be at 2 today at the Jackson's Newark Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Blue Springs Cemetery.

James Duane Murray

PARAGOULD -- James Duane Murray, 69, of Paragould died Thursday at St. Bernard's Medical Center. Born Nov. 20, 1936, in Iowa, Mr. Murray retired from the City of Paragould Street Department and was of the Baptist faith. He was a Navy veteran and served in the Korean and Vietnam wars.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Murray of Boston, Mass., and Lorie Coogis of Wichita, Kan.; one brother, Frank Murray of Wyoming; and two sisters, Ivie Bortvie and Thelma Best, both of Phelan, Calif. He is also survived by six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and by his companion, Laverne Thomas of the home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Pauline Murray, three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral service will be Sunday, April 9 at 2:30 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Paragould with Royce Boling officiating. Burial will follow in Brown's Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-9 tonight at Mitchell Funeral Home.

Harold Reed, Ron White, Jerry Clark, Linnie Edgar, Charlie Partlow and Terry McAbee will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be John Lowe and Dean Ricker.

Gladys I. O'Daniel

MANCHESNEY PARK, Ill. -- Gladys I. O'Daniel, 89, of Manchesney Park, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, went to be with the Lord at 9:55 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2006, in Cor Mariae Center after a short illness.

Born July 22, 1916, in Corning, she was the daughter of Calvin A. and Ida Mae Neff O'Daniel and lived 55 years in the Rockford area. She was employed by General Electric for 24 years, retiring in 1976. She loved to play bingo and work on puzzles.

Survivors include sons, Jack and his wife Denise Hollis of Manchesney Park, Ill., and Donald and his wife Linda O'Daniel of Las Vegas; daughters, Louise and her husband Charles Smith of Rockford and Dianna Del Rio of Manchesney Park, Ill.; 25 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; 25 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; sisters, Myrtle Rush and Essie Hollis; and brother, C.A. "Jean" O'Daniel.

She was predeceased by a son, Charles O'Daniel.

Service is at 10 a.m. Monday, April 10, at Ermert Funeral Home, 1000 West Elm St. in Corning. Burial is in Corning Cemetery.

Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, April 9, at the funeral home.

Evelyn Fairl Pulliam

JONESBORO -- Evelyn Fairl Pulliam, 64, of Jonesboro died Wednesday at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

She was a member of the Jonesboro Worship Center.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Pulliam of the home; sons, James Pulliam and Mark Pulliam of Jonesboro; daughter, Deborah Gibson of Jonesboro; brothers, Ernest Guiltner of Jonesboro and Eugene Randolph of Springfield, Ill.; and three grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 3 today in Shiloh Cemetery, with Pastor Scott Voss officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m today at Emerson Funeral Home.
