George Florie 1926 - 2002

George A. Florie was born August 27, 1926 at Chicago, Illinois the son of Martin and Katherine Moriarty Florie. He married Dorothy Larsen at Ashdown, Arkansas on October 26, 1947 and had reside in the Mountain Home area prior to moving to Cave City in 1997. He was a general manager for Allis - Chalmers in Macomb, Illinois and served with the U.S. Navy during World War II

Survived by: wife, Dorothy; 4 sons Mike (Yvonne) Florie of Greer, So. Carolina, Marty (Ann)Florie of Olathe, Kansas, Steve (Marilyn) Florie of Washington, Illinois, Terry Florie of Allen, TX; 2 daughters Sandy (Ron) Linder of Allen, TX, Kelly Florie of Pittsburg, KS; 1 sister Irene E. Florie of Macomb, IL; 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren

Preceded in Death by: parents

Funeral: Memorial Service at United Methodist Church in Cave City on January 12, 2002 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Paul Strang officiating.

Nancy G. Forrest March 19, 1921 - April 27, 2003

Nancy G. Forrest was born in Chicago, IL to Hans Sett and Gertrude Schultz - Sett. She was a housewife and moved to Mountain Home in 1981 from Downers Grove, IL

Survived by: Son - Dennis Forrest, Sister - Barbara Lyon, Beloved nieces and nephews, Grandchildren - James and Thomas Forrest, 5 Great Grandchildren

Funeral: Memorial service will be Saturday, May 17, 2003 at 11:00 AM at Bull Shoals Presbyterian Church.

Wilma Marie Frakes 1921 - 2002

Wilma Marie Frakes was born February 13, 1921 at Parsons, Kansas to George and Jane Ermey Young. She was married to Lawrence J. Frakes and worked as a Secretary in County Government. She was a member of The Eastern Star, Destin Florida United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and Harvest House. She passed away in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida on March 23, 2002 at the age of 81 years, 1 month, and 10 days.

Survived by: Husband - Lawrence J. Frakes of Destin, Fl. 2 Sons - Leo J.(Bud)Carney (wife Kathy) of Mountain Home, Arkansas and Pat Carney (wife Peggy) of Ankeny, Iowa, 1 Grandson - Mark Carney of Mountain Home and 2 Granddaughters - Janet Carney Croom of Mountain Home and Janey Carney of Ankeny, Iowa.

Funeral: Funeral Services were held in Kirby - Boaz Funeral Home Chapel in Mountain Home, Arkansas on March 27, 2002 with Reverend Jim Brooks officiating.

Burial arrangements: Burial was in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Memorials: Harvest House in care of United Methodist Church in Destin, Florida.

Mathias J. "Mat" Frank 1906 - 2003

Mathias J. Frank was born September 29, 1906 at Brooklyn, New York to John Mathias and Sophia Leickhardt Frank. He married Dorothy Keith on August 22, 1930 at Summit, New Jersey. He retired from New York Bell Telephone and retired to Mountain Home in 1968 from Brookside New Jersey. In September 1993 he moved to Quincy. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of St. John in Quincy. He passed away on July 4, 2003 at Quincy at the age of 96 years, 9 months, and 5 days.

Survived by: He is survived by his Son - M.J. “Ty” Frank (Joyce) of Quincy, Ill and a daughter – Suzanne F. Brockett (George) of McGregor, Texas., 9 grandchidlren; Jim Brocket (Reba) of Port Orange, FL., John Brockett (Kristin) of Indianapolis, IN, Jennifer McCarty, (Darren) of San Clemente, CA, Elizabeth Shurtz (Todd), of South Lake, TX, Keith Frank (Jennifer), John Frank, (Nancy), Robin Tomlinson (Bruce), all of Quincy,IL., Linda Christenson (Eric) of Mt. Vernon WA, Cammy Goodwin (Rick) of Las Vegas, NV, and 22 great grandchildren.

Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and 1 sister Wilhelmina Frank

Funeral: Funeral Services are Monday, July 7, 2003 at the Hansen Spear Funeral Home in Quincy with Reverend Harold J. Bender, Jr. officiaiting. Gravedside services will be at the Walnut Hill Cemetery in Cotter Arkansas on Tuesday, July 8, 2003 with Reverend Kenneth Lampe officiating.

Burial arrangements: Walnut Hill Cemetery, Cotter, Arkansas

Thelma Frantz 1917 - 2002

Thelma Frantz was born August 11, 1917 in Cleveland, Ohio to Emil and Philipena Wiser Kaufman. She married Alfred Frantz on april 18, 1936 at Sharon, Pa. She was a housewife, a Lutheran and a member of the American Legion Auxillary. She passed away in Mountain Home, Arkansas on June 3, 2002 at the age of 84 years, 9 months and 22 days.

Survived by: 2 Sons - Robert Frantz (wife Barbara) of Garfield Heights, Ohio and Fredrick Frantz of Northfield, Ohio. 3 Daughters - Carol P. Johnson (Husband Gerald) of Crystal Lake, Ill., Paula Birrer (Husband Johnny) of Yellville, Arkansas and Jennifer Reynolds (Husband Mark) of Akron, Ohio, 9 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.

Preceded in Death by: Parents, Husband, 1 Brother and 1 Sister.

Dale Carol Fredrickson 1936 - 2003

Dale Carol Fredrickson was born November 10, 1936 in Chicago, Ill. She was a payroll Clerk for a Container Corporation and a protestant. She moved to Mountain Home in 1988 from Bloomingdale, Ill. where she passed away on January 19, 2003 at the age of 66 years, 2 months, and 9 days.

Dorothy Alvina Fronek 1918 - 2002

Dorothy Alvina Fronek was born December 24, 1918 at St. Louis, Mo to Joseph and Marie Onder Perrin. She married Jerry Fronek in 1940 at St. louis, Mo. She was a Housewife, a Lutheran, and a member of the Order of Eastern Star of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She passed away on September 9, 2002 at her residence in Lakeview, Arkansas where she had resided since 1982 having moved here from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was 83 years, 8 months, and 15 days of age.

Survived by: 1 Daughter - Geraldine (Gerri) Skyles of Lakeview, Ar. 2 Granddaughters - Robyn Lopez (Husband Eduardo) of Lakeview, Ar. and Vicki Ward (Husband Steven) of Lindenhurst, Il. and 6 Great Grandchildren

Funeral: Funeral Services were held in Kirby - Boaz funeral Home Chapel in Bull Shoals, Arkansas on September 12, 2002 with Pastor Ken Lampe officiating. Burial was private.

Alice M. Furr 1922 - 2003

Alice M. Furr was born June 7, 1922 at Oak Park, IL to Francis and Mildred Bloomart. She married James Ray Furr, Sr. on September 15, 1945 at Chicago, IL. She was a Fine China Buyer for Marshall Field’s Department Store. She was a resident of Bull Shoals, AR since moving from Chicago, IL in 1987. She was a Navy Veteran of WWII, and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Bull Shoals. She was a member of the Catholic Church. Alice M. Furr entered into eternal rest on May 3, 2003 at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 26 days.

Survived by: son - Jim Furr of Hanover Park, IL; a sister - Virginia (Frank) Stetler; 3 grandchildren - Kristopher, Ryan, and Kirsten Furr of Napierville, IL; and many nieces and nephews

Preceded in Death by: She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, and 1 sister.

Visitation: Tuesday, May 6, 2003, 2:00 until 6:00 PM at Kirby - Boaz Funeral Home in Bull Shoals.

Funeral: There will be a memorial service at a later date in Illinois

Wanda Jean Garrison 76, of Mountain Home died August 4, 2002 at her residence. She was born May 10, 1926 to Claude Ernest and Nellie Lee McLeod Johnson in Emery, AR. She Married B.W. Garrison November 24, 1949 at Cave City, AR. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, reading and gospel music. She was a member of the first Baptist Church.

Survived by: She is survived by 2 daughters Sharon and James Jones of North Little Rock, Martha and Mark Wedgeworth of Mountain Home, Sister Mauvilene Osborn of Mountain Home, 2 brothers Paul Wayne Johnson and Carl Walter both of Cave City, AR., and 2 Grandchildren.

Preceded in Death by: She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother.

Funeral: Funeral services will be 3:30 P.M. Tuesday August 6, 2002 at Kirby Boaz Funeral Home with Dr. David Johnson officiating.

Burial arrangements: Burial will be at Mountain Home Cemetery.

Frances E. Genaze 1927 - 2003

Frances Genaze was born April 18, 1927 at Chicago, IL to Frank and Ruth White Michalik. She was married to Russell Genaze, and was a homemaker. She lived in Mountain Home from 1976 until moving to St. Peters, MO in August of 2002 to be close to her daughter. She was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. Frances Genaze entered into eternal rest on May 6, 2003 at O’Fallon, MO at the age of 76 years and 18 days.

Survived by: She is survived by her daughter - Cynthia (Troy) DeLaney of St. Peters, MO, 2 grandchildren, brother - Donald Michalik of FL, and sisters - Cora Kiewert of Kansas City, MO and Dorothy Ripple of FL.
