Jerald Albert "Jerry" Mackey July 8, 1946 - June 10, 2003

Jerald Albert "Jerry" Mackey was born on July 8, 1946 in Springfield, Missouri to Jerald Albert and Delores Jean Perryman Mackey. He attended school in Cotter, Arkansas and Willard, Missouri. He was a US Army Vietnam Veteran and a Graduate of the San Francisco College of Mortuary Science. He was a Retired Civil Service Mortuary Specialist in the Phillipines. He was the former owner of the Burns Mackey Funeral Home in Willow Springs, Missouri and also served as Howell County Coroner for twelve years. He was Past Master of the Willow Springs Masonic Lodge, former member of the Rotary Club in Willow Springs, a Life Member of the Ozark V.F.W. Post #3246 in Mountain Home. He was an avid golfer and turkey hunter. He died in an automobile accident on June 10, 2003 at the age of 56.

Survived by: He is survived by his wife, Tess, of Gassville; 2 sons: Jerald Christopher Mackey of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Joe Mackey of Gassville; one daughter: Carrie Mackey - Hoyler of Springfield, Missouri and one granddaughter: Trinity Hoyler of Springfield, Missouri; his mother: Jean Farris (Jack) Acklin of Cotter; 3 brothers: Dudley (Sandra) Mackey and Bill (Brenda) Mackey both of Mountain Home and Charles Farris of Chicago, Illinois; 2 sisters: Julie Dodd of Mountain Home and Johanna Wade of Cotter.

Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 5:00 until service time.

Funeral: Memorial Services for Jerald Albert "Jerry" Mackey, 56, of Gassville, will be 6:00 P.M. Saturday, June 14, 2003 at Kirby - Boaz Funeral Home Chapel with the Ozark VFW Post #3246 providing military Honors.

Burial arrangements: Burial will be private in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery

Memorials: Memorials may be made to Shriner's Crippled Children's Hopsital

Viriginia Gettler Macnak February 21, 1923 - June 20, 2002

Virginia Gettler Macnak, 79 of Mountain Home died June 6, 2002 at Baxter Regional Medical Center. She was born February 21, 1923 in Chicago, IL to Charles and Helen Bailey Hansen. She married John James Macnak May 22, 1990 in Mountain Home, AR. She was a homemaker. She moved to Mountain Home in 1981 from Homewood,IL. She enjoyed golf,fishing, bowling, swimming. She was a member St. Peter's Fisher of men Catholic Church.

Survived by: She is survived by her husband John James Macnak of Mountain Home, son Brian Gettler of Midlothian,TX, 2 daughters Judy Kite of Clayton,NC., Suzanne and Bill Dretter of Crete, IL., 2 Stepsons Alan Macnak of Warsaw, Ind., Mark and Susan Macnak of Crown Point, Ind., 3 step Daughters Mary and Richard Anderson of San Andereas, CA., Judy and Glen Macnak of Juneau, AK, Dorothy Macnak of Colorado Springs, CO., Brother Paul Hansen of Crete, IL., 20 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandson

Preceded in Death by: She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband George Gettler, and a daughter Kathy Nunn.

Visitation: Visitation will be 5:00 to8:00 P.M. Monday with Vigil at 7:00 P.M. at Kirby Boaz Funeral Home.

Funeral: Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M. tuesday May 25, 2002 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church.

Burial arrangements: Burial will be at Baxter Memorial Gardens.

Keith Magdefrau 1933 - 2003

He was born November 1, 1933 at Genosea, IL to Leo Carl Magdefrau and Frances Loomis Magdefrau. He married Lela B. Shurtleff on September 23, 1958 at Reno, NV. He was an insurance salesman for Wausau Insurance Company. He was a resident of Lakeview, AR since moving from Memphis, TN in 1994. He was a graduate of University of Memphis, and was Episcopalian. He was a member and past president of the Raleigh Optimis Club. He was a tool collector and a member of the Mid - West Tool Collector's Association, a member of the NRA, and a past member of the Baxter County Republican Committee. He served in the US Air Force during Korea and Vietnam, and was past commander of the Alley - White American Legion Post #52.

Survived by: He is survived by his wife, Lela Magdefrau; 2 daughters - Shari (Mark) Barnes of Mountain Home and Nola (Jim) Coleman of Orlando, FL; son - Frank (Gigi) Magdefrau of Hernando, MS; Brother - Jay Magdefrau of Cordova, TN; and 3 grandsons - Mike, Harrison, and Jackson.

Preceded in Death by: Parents and 1 brother - Caril

Funeral: A Memorial Service for Keith F. Magdefrau, 69, will be 11:30 AM Saturday at the Alley - White American Legion Post #52 with Reverend Ken Lampe officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 until 8:00 PM, Friday at Kirby - Boaz Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum. Keith Magdefrau died Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at Baxter Regional Medical Center.

He married Roberta Medearis June 11 1982 at Peoria, IL. He was a computer Programmer for Caterpillar, INC. he moved to Mountain Home in 1993 from Marquette Heights, IL. He enjoyed fishing and Boating. He was a former member of Moose Lodge. and he was Methodist.

Survived by: He is survived by his wife Roberta Maggart of Mountain Home,2 daughters Dena Scoot(Gale) of Glasford,IL, Kristi (Steve) Tiezzi of Peora,IL., 2 sons Alan (Sherry) Maggart of Garland, TX, Mitch (Julie) Maggart of Shawnee, KS. 2 stepdaughters Carol Carr of Glen Burnie,MD., Chrystal(Nick) Ramos of Chillicothe,IL., Stepson Cary( Gina) Carr of Chillicothe,IL., Sister Montie Stobaugh of Peoria, IL., 13, Grandchildren 4, Great Grandchildren, 1 niece, 1 nephew.

Preceded in Death by: He was precede in death by his parents.

Visitation: Visitation will be 5:00P.M.till 8:00 P.M. Monday.

Funeral: Funeral will be at Woolsey Funeral Home in Peoria, IL. at 8:00 P.M. Monday March 25, 2002

Burial arrangements: Burial will be at Davison Fulton Cemetery in Peoria, IL.

Ethel Mann 1909 - 2003

Funeral services for Ethel Johnson Mann of Mountain Home will be private. Mrs. Mann died Friday, January 24, 2003 at Care Manor Nursing Home. She was 93 years of age. Mrs. Mann was born April 23, 1909 at Greenville, W. Va., to John Robert and Georgia Young Johnson. She moved to Mountain Home in 1993 from Bloomingdale, Ill. after retiring as a Correctional Officer with the Federal Reformatory for Women. Ethel Mann is survived by a son, James O. Mann of Wyandotte, Michigan, a daughter, Patty (Albert) Underwood of Mountain Home, 9 grandchildren, Jim, John and Scott Mann and Jill Wheller of Michigan, Cathy Underwood of California, Tom Underwood and Connie Meyer of Illinois, Ron and Ed Underwood of Arkansas, 19 Great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Memorials: May be made to the Serenity House.

Stella Josephine Marino 1914 - 2003

She was born June 19, 1914 at Southbend, Indiana to Joseph and Frances Pluta Starzyk. She married Andrew Christian in 1933 and after his death in 1976 married Victor E. Marino in 1980. She was a sales clerk at Gatley Department Store in Chicago for 20 years and had lived in the Gassville area since moving from Chicago in 1970. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. She loved being with her family and traveling. Her sweet, kind ways will be missed by her family and friends

Survived by: She is survived by 2 daughters Roberta (Jay) Steger of Sterling Heights, Michigan and Kathleen (Richard) Horn of Little Rock, Arkansas; 1 stepson, Father Edward Marino of No. Kingstown, Rhode Island; 3 grandchildren Michelle (David) Williams Susan (Roger) Smith and Sandra Horn; 7 great grandchildren Corey and Amanda Condery, Katie and Kara Horn, Taryn Smith, Brandon and Colin Williams.

Preceded in Death by: She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands, 1 brother and 2 sisters.

Visitation: Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00, Tuesday with Vigil Service at 7:00 P.M. at Kirby - Boaz Funeral Home.

Funeral: Funeral Mass for Stella Josephine Marino of Gassville will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday at St. Peter The Fisherman Catholic Church with Reverend Stan Swiderski as celebrant. Mrs. Marino died Thursday, March 13, 2003 at Auburn Hills at the age of 88.

Burial arrangements: Burial will be in Baxter Memorial Gardens

August Markunas was born August 28, 1913 in Pennsylvania to August and Annette Bouvitch Markunas. He was a Welder and Electrician for Youngstown Steel Mill. He was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church.

George A. Marrs, 81, of Mountain Home died May 30, 2003 at Baxter Regional Medical Center.George A. Marrs was born January 20, 1922 at Fort Smith, AR to George Adam Asbury Marrs and Lucy Jane Frisby Marrs. He married Ellowene Reuss on October 19, 1960 at Audubon, IA. He was a plumber for General Contractors. He was a resident of Mountain Home, AR since moving from Omaha, NE in 1982. He served in the US Army during WWII and was a member of the VFW. He was a wood carver and loved to fish and hunt. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Survived by: He is survived by his Wife - Ellowene “Sally” Marrs of Mountain Home, AR. Daughter - Sheila Newlund of Tuttle, OK Brothers - Charles Marrs and wife Carol of Fresno, CA Norman Marrs and wife Lois of Ormond by the Sea, FL David Marrs of Roswell, NM Sister - Ruth Howell and husband Lawrence of Okmulgee, OK 2 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews

Visitation: Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday June 3, 2003 at Kirby Boaz Funeral Home.

Funeral: Funeral Services will be Wednesday June 4, 2003 at Kirby - Boaz Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jim Brooks officiating.

Burial arrangements: Burial will be at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery.

She Moved to Gamaliel in February 1997 moving from Crystal Lake, IL.

Survived by: She is survived by her husband Neil B. Marth of Gamaliel, a son Neil R. Marth of Roscoe, IL., a daughter Carol Wymore of Pontiac, MO. 1 grandson Bryan Wymore of Long Beach CA and 2 sisters Betty Smits of Fox Lake, WI and Mary Wisnewski of Fox Lake, WI.

Mr. Massey was farmer and factory worker with John Deere & Company. He was a member of the College & North Street Church of Christ in Mountain Home, Arkansas
