Born June 19, 1933, in Chicago, she died Friday, May 14, 1999, at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. Burial will be private.
She was the beloved wife of the late Bruce Hickey; loving mother of Patrick (Lisa), Michael (Jamie), Janet and Kathy Hickey and Karen (Dave) Osborne; cherished grandmother of seven; and close friend of Pete.

Betty Hogrewe of Elgin
Funeral services for Betty Hogrewe, 71, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at Wait-Ross-Allanson Funeral Chapel, 51 Center St., Elgin, with the Rev. Mark Lund officiating.
Born Nov. 18, 1927, in Elgin, the daughter of William and Lillian Dierker, she died Thursday, May 13, 1999, at Sherman Hospital, Elgin. Interment will be in Dundee Township Cemetery
East.
Mrs. Hogrewe had been employed by Chicago Rawhide. She wasa member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and the Ladies Auxillary Aerie 1047 of the Eagles.
She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Baxter of Elgin; three grandchildren, Adam, Cassondra and Derek; and one great-grandson, Justyn Morton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence W. Hogrewe, whom she married in 1951 and who preceded her in death in 1986; son, William C. Hogrewe, who passed away in 1980; two brothers, Martin and Robert; and a sister, Louise Reese.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, at the funeral chapel.
R. Donald Jenkins of Crystal Lake
Services for R. Donald Jenkins, 77, will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Skaja Bachmann Funeral Home, 7715 W. Route 14, Crystal Lake, and continue with a Mass of the Resurrection at 11:30 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Rev. Aaron Brodeski will officiate.
Born Dec. 29, 1921, in Baltimore, Md., the son of Raymond J. and Ethel (nee Lauius) Jenkins, he died Wednesday, May 12, 1999, at Hines V. A. Hospital in Maywood. Interment will be in Windridge Cemetery, Cary.
He met, courted and eventually married Dorothy Mersinger on Oct. 11, 1952, at St. Edward Church in Baltimore.
Mr. Jenkins served in World War II as a tech/sergeant in the Army attached to the entertainment batallion. While serving with this group, he toured many of the South Pacific Islands playing his trombone with such celebrities as Jack Paar and on temporary service with the Navy Band accompanied Jackie Cooper, who played the drums. After the war, he played with such band leaders as Stan Kenton and Glenn Miller. He later formed his own band quartet and specialized in New Orleans Jazz. More recently his trombone could be heard with the Crystal Lake Band and the Vito Buffalo Band. He was a member and president of the American Federation of Musicians, Local Chapter #48 in Elgin. While music was his love, he paid the bills by being one of the top Sales Reps for The James B. Day Paint Company. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church.
Survivors include his wife, M. Dorothy Jenkins of Crystal Lake; sons, D. Brad (Bonnie D.) Jenkins of Arlington Heights and Geoffrey (Laura) Jenkins of Crystal Lake; grandchildren, Katy and John Jenkins, and Sean and Colin Delaney, all of Arlington Heights, and Mellisa, Jennifer, Sarah and Amanda Jenkins of Crystal Lake; brothers-in-law, Retired Army Major Eugene (Joan L. )Mersinger of Glyndon, Md. and Joseph (Joan M. ) Mersinger of Ocean Pines, Md.
He was preceded indeath by his parents; brother, William; and sister, Virginia.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home, with a Christian wake service at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to the St. Thomas the Apostle Building Fund.
Richard A. Kelly of Buffalo Grove
Services for Richard A. Kelly, 86, formerly of Prospect Heights andInverness, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Grove Memorial Chapel, 195 N. Buffalo Grove Road, Buffalo Grove.
Born in Linden, Wis., he died Wednesday, May 12, 1999, at Northwest Community Healthcare, Arlington Heights. Interment will be private, in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights.
Mr. Kelly had retired after 45 years as partner and president of the Flinn & Dreffein Engineering Company in Northbrook. He was a member of the North American Manx Society.
He was the beloved husband for 60 years of Mary P. Kelly (nee Phelps); loving father of Thomas (Wendy) Kelly, Jane L. Russell and Nancy E. (William) Bruchert; proud grandfather of Kelly (Charles) Jarmuth, Shannon (Jeffrey) Szukala, Colleen Kelly, Christopher Kelly, Kristie (Tom) McDonald and Jeffrey Hagan; great-grandfather of Ashley and C. J. Jarmuth, and Megan McDonald; and dear brother of the late Gertrude Reilly.

William E. Kick formerly of Libertyville
Funeral services for William E. Kick, 83, will be heldat 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave., Libertyville.
Born June 6, 1915, in Libertyville, he passed away Thursday, May 13, 1999, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Interment will follow the services in Lakeside Cemetery.
Mr. Kick lived in Libertyville for his entire life until 1991, when he moved to Salt Lake City, Utah to be near his son and family. He was a veteran of the Army, having served in the European Theatre during WorldWar II with the 82nd Airborne Division, and was awarded the Purple Heart as a result of wounds he received on D-Day. Bill was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Gurnee, and before his retirement in 1976, was employed by the Hough Company in Libertyville.
Surviving are his son, Edward (Jacqueline) Kick and his grandchildren, Ashlee and Andrew William Kick, all of Salt Lake City; two brothers, Sidney (Laura) Kick and Arthur (Isabelle) Kick Jr., both of Libertyville; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kick, on Oct. 26, 1976; and by three brothers, Clifford (the late Leone), Frederick (Jean) and Harry (Norma).
Friends of the family may call Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was the wife of the late Edward Litz; mother of Gail (Robert) Wilkening; and grandmother of Michael and Katie.

John G. Malm of Naperville since 1953
A memorial service for John G. Malm, 77, will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 25 E. Benton, Naperville, with the Rev. Greg Schneck-Skiba officiating.
Born June 24, 1921, in Chicago, he died Tuesday, May 11, 1999, at Edward Hospital in Naperville. Interment will be private.
Mr. Malm was raised in Glen Ellyn and was a graduate of Glenbard High School and the University of Wisconsin. He was employed for 37 years as a research chemist at the University of Chicago and ArgonneNational Laboratory. During World War II, Mr. Malm was involved with the Manhattan Project at the University of Chicago. Further accomplishments in his career earned him many honors, including the prestigious Rosenberger Medal, which he received from the University of Chicago in 1964 and the Moissan Medal presented to him by the French Scientific Society in Paris in 1986. He was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Marjory (nee Lytton); two daughters, Elizabeth (Roger) Bacon of Helena, Mont. and Karyn Devlin Malm of Naperville; three sons, Charles and Curtis Malm, both of Naperville and Gunnar (Carolyn) Malm of Verona, Wis.; eight grandchildren, Suzanne and Matthew Bacon of Helena, Mont., Curtis, Christine and Betsy Malm of Naperville, and Kirsten, Gunnar and Erik Malm of Verona, Wis.; and brother, Richard (Sally) Malm of Sister Bay, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gunnar and Gunda Malm and one brother, Roy.

Gail A. Maloney of Hampshire
A Mass of Christian Burial for Gail A. Maloney, 46, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Hampshire. The Rev. Thomas Brantman will officiate.
Born May 4, 1953, in Chicago, to Richard and Mae (nee Parsons) Goggin, she died Friday, May 14, 1999, at her home, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Cremation will follow the services.
Gail had married James T. Maloney III on April 20, 1972, in Wheaton. The couple resided in Hanover Park for five years and later moved to Carpentersville where they lived for 16 years. For the past six years they had been Hampshire residents.
Gail was always involved in her children's activities, from serving on the board of the Carpentersville Little League to being a well-traveled `hockey mom. ' She had also been employed for 16 years by Knowles Electronics of Elgin.
Surviving are her husband, James; mother, Mae Goggin of Elgin; children, James Maloney IV of Gainesville, Ga., and Brian, Mark, Erin and David Maloney, all at home; brothers, Michael Goggin and Patrick Goggin, both of Elgin; sister, Cathleen (Roger) Rabe of Gainesville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1995.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin A. Meyer; her parents, Henry and Anna; and seven brothers and sisters.

Patricia Miller of Streamwood
Mass of resurrection for Patricia `Patti' Miller (nee Maier), 68, will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at Holy Family Parish, 2515 W. Palatine Road, Inverness. Interment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery.
Mrs. Miller died peacefully after a battle with cancer.
She was the loving wife of Harold; mother of seven children, Teresa (Michael) Spevacek, Christopher (Elizabeth Bandera), Mary, Mark, Elizabeth, Matthew and Timothy (Jessica Ruiz); gran-mama of Gregory, Bethany, Reina and Andrew; and dear sister of Bunny (Jerome) McCafferty, Joseph (Colleen Coyle) Maeir, Susan (Robert) Schemmel and the late Frank (Ginny Harte) Maier.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Merrie Maier of Oak Park and Glen Ellyn.
Mrs. Miller was a graduate of Marygrove College, Detroit, Mich. and earned her MBA from Keller Graduate School of Business. She had worked for Cahners Business Information for the past 18 years.
