Freda W. Jones
October 12, 1935 - September 27, 2002

Freda W. Jones, 66, of Pine Bluff, died at her home Friday, September 27, 2002. She was born October 12, 1935 in Prattsville to William Elbert and Vertie Beck Ward.
Mrs. Jones was reared and educated in Altheimer, where she graduated from Altheimer High School.
She married Bill E. Jones on January 29, 1955 in Altheimer who died June 9, 1997.
She and her late husband were owners of the Shell Git-N-Go Stores, which she continued to operate before retiring in 2000. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Hot Springs.
Mrs. Jones enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Rosswood Ladies Golf Association and the Simmons Classic Club.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents, William Elbert and Vertie Beck Ward.
Survivors include a son, Bill E. "Bubba" Jones, Jr. of Greers Ferry; daughters, Tammie Lyn Wilson of De Witt, Melanie Green of Monticello, Ginger Tapley of Dallas, Texas; a brother, Chris Ward of Wright; sisters, Linda Doxie of Port Charlotte, Florida, Beulah Greeson of Homer, Louisiana; and nine grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM, Sunday at Ralph Robinson and Son.
Funeral services are 2:00 PM, Monday, September 30, 2002, First Baptist Church of Pine Bluff with Reverend Gordon Topping officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
The family ask that memorials take the form of contributions to Jefferson Regional Hospice, 1515 West 42 Street, Slot 29, Pine Bluff, Arkansas 71603.

Alveria L. Billiter
November 02, 1920 - September 23, 2002

Alveria L. Billiter, age 81, of White Hall, died Monday afternoon at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Alveria was born November 2, 1920, the daughter of the late James William and Martha Jane Johnson Lowrimore in Oakman, Alabama. She was reared and educated in Oakman. During World War II she worked as a welder in the shipyards of Chesapeake Bay, building the "Liberty Ships." Alveria married Mack Boles Billiter in April of 1946 in Baltimore, Maryland. He preceded her in death in 1979. Mrs. Billiter started working for the Pine Bluff Arsenal in April of 1960 and retired on January 3, 1983, after twenty-three years of service. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Mrs. Billiter is survived by two sons, Mack Billiter of Houston, Texas, and Charles Billiter of White Hall; one daughter, Diane Thomas of Plumerville, Arkansas; one brother, William Erskine Lowrimore of Glen Burnie, Maryland; six grandchildren and 9 great grand children.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 1, 2002, at 2:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2501Ridgway Road, Pine Bluff. The family will receive guests at Ralph Robinson and Son Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Pine Bluff.

Stephanie Ann Givens Newman
April 15, 1963 - October 26, 2001

Stephanie Ann Givens Newman, 38, of White Hall died Friday at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
She was born April 15, 1963 in Pine Bluff to Joe "Bo" Glenn and Lorene Taylor Givens. Mrs. Newman was reared and educated in Altheimer, Arkansas where she graduated from Altheimer High School. She attended the University of Central Arkansas at Conway.
Mrs. Newman had worked for General Electric and Pine Bluff Toyota. She was currently employed as a distributor for Anderson Merchandiser Company.
Mrs. Newman was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Humnoke, Arkansas.
She is survived by a son; Joshua Dalton Newman of White Hall, daughter; Tiffany Nicole Newman of White Hall, parents; Joe "Bo" Glenn and Ruby Lorene Taylor Givens of Altheimer, brothers; Chuck Givens of Altheimer, Scott Givens of White Hall, sister; Elizabeth "Cissy" Kelley of White Hall and a special friend; Rick Landon of Little Rock.
The family will be at the Given's residence, 601 West 3rd, Altheimer, Arkansas.
The family will receive friends Sunday 4 to 6 PM at Robinson's. The service will be 2:00 PM, Monday, October 29, 2001 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son with Reverend Larry Perdue officiating. Interment will be at Flat Bayou Cemetery in Altheimer, Arkansas.

Ethel Lorene ( Sissy ) Davis
April 15, 1968 - September 27, 2002

Ethel Lorene "Sissy" Davis, 34, of Pine Bluff, died Friday, September 27, 2002 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born April 15, 1968 in Dumas, Arkansas, Ms. Davis was the daughter of the late George Lee Davis and Ethel Marie Boyd Davis. She received her education in Pine Bluff.
Ms. Davis was a member of West Pine Bluff Church of God.
Survivors include her two sons, Monnie "Bubba D." DeHart and Dillion DeHart of Sheridan, AR; daughter, Ericka DeHart of Sheridan, AR; five sisters, Brenda Bratton of Rison, AR, Patsy Petty of Manila, AR, Martha Meacham of Manila, AR, Carolyn Courtney of Pine Bluff and Wanda Strickland of Woodlawn, AR; three brothers, Jackie Davis of Paragould, AR, Danny Davis of Paragould, AR, and Billy Davis of Morrilton, AR.
Ms. Davis was preceded in death by her brother, George Clifton Davis, Jr.; a sister, Louise Davis; and her grandparents, Clarence & Maudie Davis, and Charles & Ader Boyd.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 1, 2002, at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with the Reverend Buddy DerryBerry and the Reverend Albert Davis officiating, directed by Ralph Robinson & Son. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Robinson's Monday evening from 6-8 PM.
The family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to the West Pine Bluff Church of God, 5810 West Malcomb St., Pine Bluff, AR 71602.
The family will be at the home of Brenda Bratton, 2430 Highway 35 North, Rison, AR.

Benjamin Patrick Hanson
June 12, 1970 - September 27, 2002

Benjamin Patrick Hanson, age 32, of White Hall, died Friday, in an automobile accident on Interstate 530 in Grant County.
Patrick was born June 12, 1970, in Pine Bluff, the son of James L. and Patricia Anderson Hanson. Patrick was reared and received his education in Pine Bluff and White Hall, graduating from White Hall High School in 1990. He worked in the window film industry and owned Precision Tinting for the last eight years. Patrick was a member of the Bethany Missionary Baptist Church.
Mr. Hanson is survived by his parents, James & Patricia Hanson of White Hall; two daughters, Rebekah Leigh Hanson and Lauren Shayne Hanson, both of Pine Bluff; one sister, Jamie Mathews of White Hall; and his maternal grandmother, Joyce Anderson of Poughkeepsie, AR.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 2, 2002, at 12:30 pm at the Broadmoor Missionary Baptist Church, 1205 Wisconsin, Pine Bluff. Brother Michael Johnson will officiate. The family will receive guests at Ralph Robinson and Son Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm. Burial will follow at 5:00 pm in the Spots Cemetery in Poughkeepsie, AR. with the Reverend Dr. Samuel Griffin, Jr. and Reverend W.E. Norris officating..
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Texarkana Baptist Orphanage, PO Box 611, Texarkana, Arkansas 75504.

Eunice Lee Barfield
March 10, 1900 - September 29, 2002

Eunice Lee Barfield, 102, of Fort Worth, Texas, (formerly of Pine Bluff), a retired L.V.N., went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Sun., Sept. 29, 2002, at a Kennedale nursing center in Fort Worth.
Eunice was born in Camden, Tenn. on March 10, 1900, the daughter of the late Francis and Luvanna Pafford Wright.
She was married to Homer Barfield in 1923.
Eunice was a member of Hawley United Methodist Church of Pine Bluff. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Sherie Lowe, the staff of Pecan Manor Nursing Center in Kennedale and Castle Peak Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Eunice and our family.
Mrs. Barfield was preceded in death by her husband, Homer, son, Charles G. Barfield, and daughters, Laura Ethel Flowers and Imogene Barfield
She is survived by two sons; Francis Earl Barfield of Corbin, Kentucky and Jimmy Cullen Barfield and wife Grace of Muskogee, Oklahoma and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, Oct. 4, 2002, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors, with the Reverend Jimmy Watson officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Pine Bluff. Visitation: 9 - 10 A.M., Friday at Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Home

Shirley W. Lancaster
June 30, 1922 - October 02, 2002

Shirley W. Lancaster, 80, of Pine Bluff died October 2, 2002 at Davis Life Care.
She was born June 30, 1922 in Haverhill, Massachusetts to Arthur and Irene McCabe Woodman. She was reared and received her early education in Haverhill. She was a registered nurse and a Catholic.
She is survived by two sons, Farris Edward Madison of Pine Bluff and Wayne Edward Madison of Memphis, Tennessee, two grand children and one brother, Arthur Woodman.
At her request, Mrs Lancaster will be cremated and a private burial service will be held at a later date.

Steven Edward Coleman
December 16, 1959 - September 29, 2002

Steven Edward Coleman, age 42, of Pine Bluff, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 29, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Steven was born December 16, 1959, in Lawton, Oklahoma to Roy Edward Coleman and Sybil Jeannette Stambaugh Coleman Henderson. He was reared in Pine Bluff ; attended Watson Chapel Schools and graduated from White Hall High School. Mr. Coleman was a Pine Bluff Firefighter for a number of years prior to his pursuing a career in medical imaging. He also received training as a nuclear medicine technician. Steven was an avid outdoors man and was a member of Matthews Memorial Baptist Church.
Mr. Coleman is survived by one, daughter, Caitlin Suzanne Coleman of White Hall, his parents, Roy Edward Coleman of White Hall and Sybil Jeanette and Rufus Leon Henderson of Pine Bluff, one brother, Dr. Roy Douglas Coleman of White Hall; one sister, Kathy Jo Terry also of White Hall; two step brothers, Michael Henderson and Mark Henderson both of White Hall; one step siser, Sherrie Freyer of Springfield, Missouri and three nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday evening, October 3, 2002, at 7 pm at the chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors, 807 Cherry. Brother Steve Monk will officiate. The family will receive guest from 6pm until the service at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at Friendship Cemetery of Jefferson County, Arkansas on Friday morning at 10 am.

Reba Hays Hazelip
April 05, 1907 - October 03, 2002

Reba Hays Hazelip, 95, of Pine Bluff died Thursday, at Davis Life Care.
She was born April 5, 1907 in Pine Bluff where she graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1926, and then attended Modern Business School. She worked as a bookkeeper for Singer Sewing Machine Company in Pine Bluff for more than 20 years, retiring in 1967.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she taught the Primary Sunday School Class, and was a member of Women's Missionary Union.
She is survived by a son, James Edward Hazelip of Cottonwood, Arizona, a sister, Alice Layson of Pine Bluff, four grandchildren, Barbara Hazelip and Beverly Keiffer of Dallas, Texas, Carol Maurer of New Jersey and Laura Bearden of Pine Bluff, six great-grandchildren, Will and Anna Maurer of Searcy, Scott and Rebecca Keiffer of Dallas, Texas, and Larisa and Ross Bearden of Pine Bluff.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Janie Maurer and a grandson, George Maurer.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son, with Reverend Gordon Topping officiating. Burial will be in Bellwood Annex Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson's, Sunday, 2-4 P.M.
