Robert William Cole
May 22, 1942 - February 01, 2004

Robert Wm. Cole, age 61, of Pine Bluff, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 1, 2004, in Pittsburgh, PA.
Robert was born May 22, 1942, a son of James Arthur Cole and the late Elizabeth Mae Weissenstein in Wilkinsburg, PA. He was reared and educated in Wilkinsburg and graduated from Penn Hills High School. He attended Carnegie Institute of Technology studying engineering and physics. He also attended Northeast Bible Institute. Robert married Joyce Jansen on February 19, 1966, in Bellerose, Long Island, New York. Mr. Cole has spend over 30 years working in the operation of nuclear power plants, from Steam Generating Replacement Projects to the construction and start-up of nuclear power plants. He was well versed in the basic fundamentals of electronics, mechanics and metallurgy. He was presently a Quality Assurance Inspector employed by the National Inspection Corporation of Miami.
Mr. Cole is survived by his wife of 37 years, Joyce; a son, Jonathan Scott Cole of Pine Bluff; three daughters, Rebecca Suzanne Bradley of Glendale, AZ, Bethann Joy Flannigan of Hammond, WI and Karen Christianna Williams of Sanford, FL; his father, James Arthur Cole of Eustis, FL; one brother, Richard Alvin Cole of Orleans, MA; one sister Rachel Faith Cole of McKeesport, PA; 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother in 1993.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, on Friday, February 6, 2004, at the First Assembly of God Church, 1002 Ridgway Road with Reverend Mike Cottrell officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday afternoon from 5:00 - 7:00 PM, at Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Cypress Memorial Gardens.

Patricia Lynn Duke
November 27, 1937 - February 02, 2004

Patricia Lynn Duke, 66, a resident of Redfield, died Monday, February 2, 2004, at a Little Rock Hospital.
Born November 27, 1937, in Pine Bluff, she was a daughter of Leonard Allen and Elora Delilah Wood Jenkinson.
Mrs. Duke was reared and received her early education in Pine Bluff, where she attended the Watson Chapel Schools. She married Clarence Willard Duke on September 15, 1957, in Greenville, Mississippi. Mrs. Duke was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary ot the American Legion Post 343 in Redfield.
Mrs. Duke was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence Duke and two brothers.
Survivors include; three sons, Danny Duke and Jeffrey Duke of Redfield, Clay Duke of Pine Bluff; four daughters, Cindy Hobson and Marilyn Odom of Pine Bluff, Cathy Ackerman and Nancy Via of Redfield; two sisters, Vonda Matthews of Pine Bluff and Jeanne Hetu of Vale, Oregon; seventeen grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, February 6, 2004, at 10:00 AM, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors with Bishop Wayne Sayers officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive guests from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, February 5, 2004, at Ralph Robinson & Son.

Lena Whiteaker Brake
June 05, 1923 - February 02, 2004

Lena Whiteaker Brake, 80, of Pine Bluff died Monday, February 2, 2004, at Trinity Medical Center, Pine Bluff.
She was born June 5, 1923, in Pine Bluff, to Jesse J. and Willie Glover Whiteaker.
She graduated from Watson Chapel High School and attended A&M College in Monticello, now the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
She was a loving mother, homemaker and a life long member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, William Ira Brake, Jr., who she married July 11, 1942, in Pine Bluff, two sons, W.J. "Bill" Brake of Florence, Mississippi, David Brake of West Columbia, Texas, three daughters, Carole Launius of Pine Bluff, Linda Blackwell of Houston, Texas, Bonnie Plikaytis of Tucker, Georgia; five grandchildren, Shelley Brake, William K. "Billy" Brake, Richard Launius, Bonnie Suzanne Finnigan, Jacey Brake; and two great-grandchildren, Alicia Joy Finnigan and Amanda Marie.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son, with Reverend Jerre Hassell officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, by Ralph Robinson and Son.
The family will receive friends at Robinson's, Wednesday evening, 6-8 P.M.
Memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, 1801 W. 17th, Pine Bluff, Ar. 71603, or Trinity Village, 6400 Trinity Drive, Pine Bluff, Ar. 71603 .

Mary Ella Brown
June 21, 1921 - February 03, 2004

Mary Ella Brown, 82 of Pine Bluff died Tuesday, February 3, 2004, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, in Pine Bluff.
She was born June 21, 1921 in Jacinto (Dallas County), to Eugene and Clara Bell Mann Shaddock. She was reared and received her early education in Sparkman, where she married Felix Brown, October 3, 1942. They had resided in Pine Bluff for many years.
She was a homemaker and a member of First Pentecostal Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers, James, Leon, Raymond, Manuel and J.B. Shaddock and one sister, Elsie Wood.
She is survived by two sons, Marvin and Carrol Brown, of Pine Bluff, three daughters, Mary Freeman, Betty Freeman, both of Pine Bluff, Lyndell Guthrie of Claremore, Oklahoma, a brother, Cecil Shaddock of Camden, a sister, Maxine Shambley of Camden, seven grandchildren, Lynn Guthrie, Tony Guthrie, Keith Freeman, Kevin Freeman, Adam Brown, Aaron Brown, Timothy Brown, and one great-grandchild, Logan Guthrie.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, February, 6, 2004, at First Pentecostal Church of God, with Reverend Donald Shipley, Reverend Charles Scott, Reverend Ronald Grundy and Reverend Freddie Burcham officating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, by Ralph Robinson and Son.
The family will receive friends at Robinson's, Thursday, 6-8 P.M.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Myrtie Black

Myrtie Gertrude Fielding Black, 89, of Pine Bluff died Saturday, February 7, 2004, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
She was born June 4, 1914, in Athens, Texas, to William Henry and Edna Earl Campbell Fielding. She was reared and received her early education in Grapevine and Sheridan.
She married Acie Black, July 15, 1936, in Sheridan. They moved to Pine Bluff in 1944.
She was a homemaker and a member of Pine Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Carl Leonard Black,four brothers, E.E. Fielding, W.H. Fielding, Floyd Fielding, Herbert Fielding, five sisters, Thelma Pagan, Ruth Jeffcoat, Verona Moran, Vara Smith and Bertha Shell.
She is survived by a son Winfred Delane Black of Bonifay, Florida, two daughters, Floy Grace Bates of Pine Bluff, Kathryn Lynn Schweitzer of Louistown, Montana, ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son, with Mr. James Bradshaw officiating. Burial will be in Lee Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson's, Monday, 6 to 8 P.M.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Pine Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 415 S Red Street, Sheridan, AR. 72150.

Bryson Harold Bray
June 22, 1927 - December 05, 2001

Bryson Harold Bray, 74, of Pine Bluff departed this life on Wednesday, December 5, 2001. He was born June 22, 1927 in Central (Hot Spring County) Arkansas, son of the late Rhodes and Addye Bray. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Sullivan Bray, daughter, Kathy Wheeler of Pine Bluff, son, Brett Bray of White Hall, brother, Lynn Bray of Malvern, four grandchildren, Zachery Bray Wheeler, Kristofer Bray Hudson, Mackenzie Bray and Madeline Bray.
Mr. Bray was preceded in death by a daughter, Becky Bray Hudson and two brothers, George and Austin Bray.
He was a member of Jacob Brump Lodge #160 F.&A.M., Order of Eastern Star, Chapter#40 and a past president of Sertoma.
He was very active in youth sports in Pine Bluff, serving as President of the Boys Club, Board Member of Junior Babe Ruth, and Board Member of Pine Bluff National Little League. He coached Little League and Junior Babe Ruth in Pine Bluff for many years.
He retired from the Pine Bluff Arsenal in 1991, after 41 years of civil service. He served in the U.S. Navy.
He also taught school for several years at Ouachita, Malvern, Redfield, England and Southeast Arkansas College.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son, with Pastor Brian Jarrett, Elder Hartsel Cayce, Pastor Ray Edmonson and Pastor Charles Sandage. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Friday, 6-8 P.M. They will be at the home of Brett and Wendy Bray, 115 Carolina, White Hall.
