Nina Lee Mell Anderson

Nina Lee Mell Anderson, 85, of the Hardin Community, died Monday, April 5, 2004, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
She was born June 15, 1918 in Kansas City, Missouri, to LeRoy Joseph Mell and Sarah Margaret Roe Mell. She was reared and received her early education in Kansas City.
She married Norman A. Anderson, March 18, 1939. They moved to Pine Bluff in 1946, where they started and operated Capital Typewriter Agency, until retiring in 1981.
She was a member of First Christian Church, in Pine Bluff, and attended Hardin Baptist Church. She had been a member of the Promenader's Square Dance Club.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon K. Clements and Roana S. Petrie, both of the Hardin Community, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and all her siblings.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son, with Reverends Clyde Jones and Jim Parker officiating. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends at Robinson's, Tuesday, 6-8 PM

Thomas G. ( Tommy ) Bailey
March 11, 1920 - April 06, 2004
Thomas G. "Tommy" Bailey, 84, of Pine Bluff died Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
He was born March 11, 1920, in Rest, Arkansas, to Arthur B. and Mellie McFalls Bailey.
He moved to Pine Bluff, as a young man, and was reared and received his early education in Pine Bluff, where he graduated from Pine Bluff High School.
He served in the U.S. Air Forces, during WW II, where he served in the European African Middle Eastern Theater, and again in the Korean Conflict.
He served as President of the Pine Bluff Boys Club, where he coached Forrest Park Rangers in football and basketball for many years.
He was a member of Jacob Brump Lodge #160 F.A.M., member and past director of the Royal Order of Jesters Court #38, the Scottish Rite Bodies, and the Sahara Shrine Temple, where he had served on the Director's Staff, and the Kachina Club.
He worked for Arkansas Power and Light (now Entergy), for 42 years, retiring in 1983, as an Engineering Technician. He was a member of First Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Earle Pearce Bailey, who he married, October 31, 1942, in Shreveport, Louisiana, and a brother, Denzol D. Bailey, of Pine Bluff.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son, with Reverend Delores Stroud officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson's, 5-7 PM Wednesday.

Harry Wesley ( Wes ) Burns

Harry Wesley "Wes" Burns, 62, of Pine Bluff died at Jefferson Regional Medical Center Sunday, April 04, 2004. He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma E. Hobbs, his father, John W. Burns, and stepfather, Clifford L. Hobbs. Wes was born in Warren Ohio, growing up there and in southern Florida.
He entered the construction business as a young man, becoming an industrial carpenter in many places including Saudi Arabia. There he worked with Williams Construction Company and Bechtel International as the foreman of an industrial concrete placement crew establishing oil field pipelines. Having retired and moved to Pine Bluff four years ago with his wife Linda, he stayed busy keeping up with the NASCAR circuit, and trying to improve his golf game with his brother and his son.
His survivors include wife Linda, of the home; his son, Larry Burns of Cocoa, Florida; one brother and sister-in-law, Al Burns and Danielle Burns of Pine Bluff; one sister and brother-in-law, Norma Ledbetter and Brooks Ledbetter, Jr., of Pryor, Oklahoma.
Services are Thursday at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with the Reverend Wm. Lee Kinney officiating. Final committal will be in Monday at 1:00 PM in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Titusville, Florida, by Florida Memorial Funeral Home of Rockledge, Florida.

Louise Alice Altschul

Louise Altschul, 97, formerly of Pine Bluff, died Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana. She was born December 10, 1906, in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late Dave and Alice Weil Frank.
She was reared and educated in Memphis, where she graduated from high school.
Mrs. Altschul married Reno Altschul, Sr. on June 2, 1925, in Pulaski County, Arkansas. She lived in Pine Bluff until 1986, before moving to Louisiana to be near her family.
She was a homemaker, a loving wife and mother.
Mrs. Altschul was a member of the Temple Anshe Eneth.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Reno Altschul, Sr., two sons, Reno Altschul, Jr., Billy Altschul; parents; one brother; and one sister.
Survivors include her daughter, Saudra Erwin of Alexandria, Louisiana; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; two graet-great-grandchildren; and one step great-great-grandchild.
Graveside services are, Noon, Friday, April 9, 2004, in the Jewish Cemetery
in Pine Bluff, with Rabbi Eugene Levy officiating. Burial will be by Ralph Robinson and Son.

Daniel Ray ( Danny ) Brown
August 23, 1955 - April 09, 2004
Daniel Ray "Danny" Brown, 48, of Pine Bluff, died Friday, April 9, 2004, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on Friday in Pine Bluff. He was born August 23, 1955, in Camden, Arkansas, a son of the late John Henry Brown and Dorothy Shaddock Brown.
Mr. Brown was reared near Bearden, Arkansas, graduating from Bearden High School. He resided in Fordyce for many years. A self-employed carpenter, Mr. Brown was the owner of Danny Brown Construction Company. He moved to Pine Bluff in 2002. He attended First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Pine Bluff.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Diane Witham.
His survivors include his wife, Carrie Meurer Lindsey Brown of Pine Bluff, to whom he was married in Pine Bluff on October 4, 2002; two daughters, Jennifer Brown and Emily Brown of Fordyce, Arkansas; one son, Kevin Brown of Fordyce, Arkansas; one step-daughter, Becky Lindsey of Pine Bluff; one step-son, Derrick Lindsey of Pine Bluff; four brothers, John and Larry Brown of Fordyce, Arkansas, Jerry Brown of Sheridan, Arkansas, and Gary Brown of Bearden; two sisters, LaVern Witham of Malvern, Arkansas, and Dorothy Jones of Houston, Texas; and two grandsons, Jaheim Brown and Tyler Davis of Fordyce.
Services will be Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at 10:30 AM in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with the Reverend John Deaton officiating. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Robinson's. At other times they will be at the Meurer residence at 2804 Orlando in Pine Bluff.

Abby Marie Boykin was born and died April 13, 2004, at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.
Abby was preceded in death by her great-grandparents Jack Dial, Reece Boykin and Jake Peters.
Survivors include parents, Sean and Heather May Boykin of Pine Bluff; grandparents, Laure & Kenneth May of Pine Bluff and Buddy & Karen Boykin of Hermitage, Arkansas; great-grandparents, Kay & Buddy Edwards of Rison, Arkansas, Beverly & John Romano of Buxton, Maine, Helen Dial of Star City, Arkansas, Maycell Boykin of Johnsville, Arkansas, and Helen & John Patillo of Lake Village, Arkansas.
Graveside services are Friday, April 16, 2004 at 10:00 AM at Cypress Memorial Gardens by Ralph Robinson & Son. Reverend Buddy Boykin will officiate.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5-7 PM at Robinson's.
Leonard Tommy Castleberry

L. Tommy Castleberry, age 48, of North Little Rock, formerly of Pine Bluff, passed away Thursday afternoon, April 15, 2004, at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock.
Tommy was born January 7, 1956, in Pine Bluff, a son of the late Leonard Thomas "Ben" and Glenda Inez Jones Castleberry. He grew up and attended school in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School in 1974. He married Cindy Thompson on May 19, 2001. Mr. Castleberry worked at Delta Kraft Natural Paper Company and Weyerhauser Products prior to working for American Plastics in Little Rock. He loved to play in the great outdoors whether it be hunting deer or ducks, or fishing for that big one.
Mr. Castleberry is survived by his wife, Cindy; two daughters, Bethany Lackey of Pine Bluff and Krystal Miller of Pine Bluff; one Sister, Penny Castleberry of Pine Bluff; one half brother, Larry Hall of Las Vegas, NV and one grand child.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 17, 2004, at 4:00 PM at the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral home, 807 Cherry, Pine Bluff with Reverend Ricky Glover and Reverend Jay Beckman officiating. Interment will be at Union Valley Cemetery, Coy, Arkansas.

Jack Eisenkramer

Mr. Jack Eisenkramer, age 89, of Pine Bluff, died at Jefferson Regional Medical Center Sunday, April 18, 2004. Mr. Eisenkramer was born November 9, 1914, a son of the late William and Minnie Eisenkramer.
Mr. Eisenkramer was reared and received his education in Pine Bluff and was a graduate of Pine Bluff High School. He attended Washington University in St. Louis for two years and was called to 
military duty in the U S Army serving in World War II.
He owned and operated Eisenkramer's Women's Ready to Wear Department Store for many years, retiring in 1969.
He was a member of Temple B' Nai Israel of Little Rock, The Last Man's Supper Club and the American Legion.
Mr. Eisenkramer was preceded in death in 1989, by his daughter, Linda Eisenkramer Getchel and his wife in 1993, Gene Hirsch Eisenkramer, who he married January 28, 1950, in Pine Bluff .
Mr. Eisenkramer is survived by one son and daughter in law, Jack L. and Ellen Eisenkramer of Highland Park, Illinois and grandchildren, Emily and Benjamin Eiskramer.
Funeral services will be graveside in the Jewish Cemetery
Monday, April 19, 2004 at 3:00 P M by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors with Rabbi Eugene Levy officiating.

Jessie Frances Davis
September 12, 1925 - April 21, 2004
Jessie Frances Davis, 78, of White Hall, died Wednesday, April 21, 2004, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was born September 12, 1925 in Pine Bluff to Ross and Bessie Wright Lee.
She was reared and educated in Dermott, Arkansas. She married John Whitt Davis on July 13, 1941 in Louisiana.
She owned and operated the cafeteria at the Pine Bluff Arsenal before retiring in 1974. She also enjoyed making pillows, doing needle punch work, canning, fishing and horse racing.
Mrs. Davis was a member of the White Hall Assembly of God Church, and the VFW, Post #4455.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Whitt Davis; two daughters, Linda Kaye Davis, Gail Bailey; and her parents, Ross and Bessie Wright Lee.
Survivors include her son, Johnny Mack Davis of White Hall; two sisters, Nita Bradley of Monroe, Louisiana, and Bernice Wilson of Garden Grove, California; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday, 6 to 8 PM, at Ralph Robinson and Son.
Services are 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 24, 2004, Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son with Reverend Kenneth Swiger officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery
in Rye, Arkansas, by Ralph Robinson and Son.
