Thomas Alton "Tommy, Tony, T." Hall

Thomas Alton "Tommy" "Tony" "T." Hall, 64, of Pine Bluff went to be with the Lord Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Hall was born on January 31, 1943 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, a son of the late E. C. and Annie Laurie McCool Hall.
He attended Dollarway School during the 50's. He served in the Army National Guard. Mr. Hall worked at KTBS-TV 3 in Shreveport, Louisiana and KTHV-TV 11 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was producer of WGTG Video Pro, Inc., where he produced "Of Time And The River", "Of Character And Characters", "Freeman H. Owens, The Man Who Made Motion Pictures Talk" and many more. He filmed many high school reunions since 1988. He has filmed the White Hall Graduations since 1989. While living in Louisiana, Mr. Hall worked as a licensed private investigator for Hall and Associates.
Mr. Hall had been involved with the Cotton Belt Railroad Historical Society and the Jefferson County Genealogical Society. He was a member of the RSVP, volunteered with the Community Theatre/ Saenger Theatre for many years helping out with the Pine Bluff Film Festival. Mr. Hall was on the board of the Southeast Arkansas Rodeo/Fair Association where he was real active. He attended White Hall United Methodist Church and helped with the Church Fish Fry. Mr. Hall was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
He was a descendant of the late Jane Allen and Dexter Harding. Mr. Hall was also preceded in death recently by son-in-law, Patrick Ward.
Survivors are his wife of 40 years, Brenda J. Hall; three sons Thomas Alton Hall, Jr. of Winnsboro, Louisiana, Thomas Alton "Monty" Hall and wife Kara (serving in Iraq) of Richmond, Virginia and Hank Judson Hall and wife Amy from Orlando, Florida; two daughters, Tammy McClain and husband Red and Laurie Ward both of Winnsboro, Louisiana; ten grandchildren, Jacob Hall of White Hall, Arkansas, Hank Hall, Jr. of Orlando, Florida, Rodney Cupp, Dakota McClain, Chad Ward, Chuck Ward, Skyla Hall, Katelyne Hall all of Winnsboro, Louisiana, Brittney Clore of Alephi, Maryland and Melissa Martone of Orlando, Florida; great-grandson, Caiden Ward of Winnsboro, Louisiana; two sisters, Ann Arp of Tyler, Texas and Ginger Marzano of Pine Bluff; four brothers, Gene Hall, Jr. and Ed Hall both of Shreveport, Louisiana, Gayle Hall of Pine Bluff and David Hall of Robertsville, Missouri and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Sunday, April 22, 2007 at Robinson's.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 23, 2007 at White Hall United Methodist Church with Reverend David Baker and Reverend Lee Kinney officiating. Burial will follow at White Hall United Methodist Cemetery
by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.

Willis H. "Bill" Sargent
May 21, 1931 - April 22, 2007
Willis Sargent, 75, of Pine Bluff, died Sunday, April 22, 2007, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Sargent was born May 21, 1931, in Ogdensburg, New York, to the late Harold and Beaulah Miller Sargent. He was reared and received his education in Rensselaer Falls, New York, where he graduated from Canton High School. After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Air Force and retired after 22 years of service.
Mr. Sargent worked for the Department of Corrections for 18 years before retiring in 1996. He had served as the Warden at the Cummins Unit and the Jefferson County Regional Jail Correction Unit.
Mr. Sargent married Jacquelyn Havill on July 29, 1956, in Kingsland, Georgia.
He was a member of the Southern States Correctional Association and the Arkansas Department of Correction Retiree Organization.
Mr. Sargent is survived by his wife, Jackie Sargent, of Pine Bluff; two sons, Chris Sargent of Fort Drum, New York, and Craig Sargent of St. Cloud, Florida; a daughter, Lynda Sargent of Pine Bluff; and seven grandchildren.
Mr. Sargent was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 24, 2007, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, at Robinson’s.
A funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at 10:00 AM, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Chaplain Herbert Holley and Chaplain John Hagan officiating. Cremation will follow the funeral service.
Elizabeth Ann Poe (Ives)
January 10, 1953 - May 7, 2007
Elizabeth Ann Ives Poe, 54, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, died Monday, May 7, 2007, at her home.
She was born January 10, 1953, in Panama, Oklahoma, a daughter of the late James Roy and Betty Jo Morris Ives.
She was reared and received her education in Chicago, Illinois.
Mrs. Poe served in the United States Army.
She had worked at Florida Drum for 10 years, before becoming a homemaker.
She attended Hardin New Life Apostolic Church.
Survivors include her husband Leonard E. "Jack" Poe, whom she married on November 26, 1977 in Pine Bluff; two sons, David "Dado" Poe of the Hardin Community, Johnny Poe of Newport, Tennessee; a daughter, Patricia Poe of Pine Bluff; five brothers, Harold Ives of Pine Bluff, Lyndell Ives of Cleveland, Ohio, Darrell Ives of Pine Bluff, Lee Ives of Pine Bluff, Berman Ives of North Little Rock; two sisters, Opal Price of Magnolia, Eula Ives of Pine Bluff; and three granddaughters.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 PM, Wednesday, at Robinson's.
Services will be 10 AM, Thursday, May, 10, 2007, Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Duray Aldridge officiating.
Burial will follow in Hardin Cemetery.
The family will be at the home of the Leonard Poe family, 9 East Millaway, Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
DeLinda K. Sturdivant (Spainhour)
November 28, 1954 - July 20, 2007
DeLinda K. Sturdivant, 52, of Charleston, AR, formerly of Pine Bluff, died Friday, July 20, 2007, at Sparks Memorial Hospital in Fort Smith.
Mrs. Sturdivant was born November 28, 1954, in Pine Bluff, AR to the late John Spainhour and the late Doris Maree Conner Spainhour.
She was reared and received her early education in Pine Bluff, AR, attending Dollarway High School.
DeLinda Spainhour married Russell Dale Sturdivant on October 19, 1981, in Texarkana, TX.
Mrs. Sturdivant worked as a homemaker in her own home. She enjoyed horses, horse shows, camping and fishing.
She was a member of Center Grove United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include husband, Russell Dale Sturdivant of Charleston, AR; 2 brothers, Randy Spainhour of White Hall, AR, Jimmy Spainhour of Murfreesboro, TN; step-daughter, Traycee Daun Sturdivant of Dallas, TX; step-son, Adam Dale Sturdivant of Midland, TX; three grandchildren.
Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 AM Monday, July 23, 2007, at Ralph Robinson & Son.

George Benjamin Spencer, Jr.
July 17, 1925 - September 30, 2007
George Benjamin Spencer, Jr., 82, formerly of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, passed away in his home in Paducah, Kentucky, surrounded by loved ones on September 30, 2007. George was born in Minden, Louisiana, on July 17, 1925. He was the son of George B. Spencer and Thelma Lowe Spencer.
George attended grammar school in Batesville, Arkansas, middle school in Star City, Arkansas, and graduated as a member of the class of 1943 from Paris High School in Paris, Arkansas. Shortly after entering the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, he enlisted in the United States Army, serving in the Army Air Corps during World War II. His service included overseas duty as a part of the Second Bomb Group in Italy.
After the war, George continued his studies at the University of Arkansas, graduating with a degree in Agriculture in 1949. He was a member of Alpha Zeta, an honorary agriculture fraternity. After farming for a number of years, he worked as Manager of Land and Right of Way for Arkansas Power and Light Company (now Entergy Arkansas). He retired after 27 years in that position.
George accumulated 28 years of 
military service and retired from the US Army Reserves Corps of Engineers with the rank of Major in 1975. He served as President of the Rotary Club of Pine Bluff and was a Paul Harris Fellow. George was an active member of the Methodist Church wherever he lived. He enjoyed teaching Sunday School at several churches for over 40 years. Most recently, he was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church in Paducah. He was also a member of the Rotary Club of Paducah and the Paducah Ambassadors.
He served as Chairman of the Real Estate section of the Southeastern Electric Exchange, president of the Arkansas Society of Farm Managers and Real Estate Appraisers, International Director of the American Right of Way Association and President of the Arkansas Chapter of the American Right of Way Association. He served two terms on the Quorum Court of Jefferson County, Arkansas, and for several years on the Pine Bluff/ Jefferson County Library Board.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Gwen; and by his first wife, Martha Nell "Mot" Jowers Spencer. He is survived by his second wife, Karlyn; a brother, Joe and wife Judy of Lebanon, Tennessee; and by his children, George Spencer III of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Mary Lou Chilcote and husband Fred of Little Rock, Arkansas, Matt Spencer and wife Jo of Little Rock; and his two stepdaughters, Jane Melrose and husband Jim, Barbara Higgins and husband Chip, all of Franklin, Tennessee. He leaves four grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth and David Chilcote, and Madison and Kate Spencer, as well as six step-grandchildren, Anne Meriwether and husband Scott, Kenneth and James Melrose, and Christopher, Kevin, and Laura Higgins.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 4, 2007, at Ralph Robinson & Son Chapel at 807 Cherry Street in Pine Bluff. Reverend Fred Arnold will officiate the service. The family will receive guests immediately following the service at the Pine Bluff Country Club. The family requests that memorials be made to Broadway United Methodist Church, 701 Broadway, Paducah, Kentucky 42001.
Joyce Annette McClain (Newton)
September 15, 1936 - September 30, 2007
Joyce A. McClain, 71, of Pine Bluff, died Sunday, September 30, 2007, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock.
Mrs. McClain was born September 15, 1936, in Jefferson County, to the late Bud and Vestal Dent Newton. She was reared and received her education in Pine Bluff, where she graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1954.
Joyce A. Newton married Martin McClain on February 3, 1955, in Pine Bluff.
Mrs. McClain was a homemaker and a member of 28th Street Church of Christ.
Mrs. McClain will be remembered by her family for being a loving wife and mother. Her many friends will remember her for giving so much of herself to anyone who needed help.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Martin McClain; sons, Don McClain of Alexander, and Gary McClain of Pine Bluff; a daughter, Jana Hodges of Pine Bluff; a brother, Kenneth Newton of Mt.View, Arkansas; and eight grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, at Robinson’s.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, October 3, 2007, 10:00 AM, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Mr. Clarence Fell officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery

Gertrude "Trudy" Nichols (Scott)
October 10, 1910 - October 1, 2007
Gertrude "Trudy" Scott Nichols, 96, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, passed away Monday, October 1, 2007 at Davis Life Care Center East.
A daughter of the late William M. and Cannie Rains Scott, she was born October 10, 1910 in Fort Townson, Oklahoma. She was reared and received her early education in the Kelso Community and McGehee, Arkansas attending the Desha County School System.
She worked as a caretaker and nanny, caring for the elderly in their homes and children for over 30 years. She had lived in Camden, Arkansas for several years until her retirement in 1984, then moving to Pine Bluff.
She was a member of the Apostolic Church in Pine Bluff. She had also served as a Sunday school teacher at the Assembly of God Church in McGehee.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carter H. Nichols; her children, Sherrie Tedder Riley and William J. Tedder; two sisters, Nettie Summers and Lenora Glover; and three brothers James, Thomas, and Huey P. Scott.
She is survived by her granddaughters, Susan Riley Bitely and her husband M.H. Bitely III, of Grady, Arkansas and Kathryn Scott and her husband Tim, of Pocahontas, Arkansas; five great grandchildren, M.H. "Hamilton" Bitely IV, Julianne Bitely both of Little Rock, Arkansas, Christina Baker of Winter Haven, Florida, Ryan Scott and Brynne Ellen Scott both of Fayetteville, Arkansas; two sisters Mildred Rowell and Opal Cox both of Houston, Texas and her long time friend and care taker Helen Deniston, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 from 5 - 7 PM at Robinson’s. Graveside service will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 4, 2007 at McGehee Cemetery
in McGehee, Arkansas with the Reverend M. A. Moore officiating. Arrangements by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Home.

James Douglas Doster
November 19, 1969 - September 29, 2007
United States Army Sergeant First Class James Douglas Doster, 37, of Fort Riley, Kansas, died September 29, 2007, in Baghdad, Iraq, while serving his country during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
He was born November 19, 1969, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, a son of Charles C. Doster, Jr. and Billie K. Doster.
SFC Doster was raised and received his education in White Hall, graduating from White Hall High School. He also attended Hendrix College in Conway.
He was baptized at Lakeside Methodist Church in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He was a loving and devoted husband and father.
SFC Doster was Platoon Sergeant for 1st Platoon B Company, 2nd Battalion, 16th Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas. He also served in Operation Desert Storm.
Survivors include his wife, Amanda Lynn Doster, whom he married on December 9, 2000, in Grand Junction, Colorado; two daughters, Kathryn and Grace Doster; his mother, Billie Doster of White Hall; and a brother, Robert Doster of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles C. Doster, Jr.
The family will receive friends, 5 to 7 PM, Wednesday, at Robinson's.
Funeral services will be 2 PM, Thursday, October 11, 2007, at Lakeside United Methodist Church, with Reverend Jim Brooks officiating. There will be no burial at this time.
