Margaret Mary Turchi
August 09, 1924 - July 22, 2002

Margaret Mary Turchi, 77, a resident of Pine Bluff died Monday, July 22, 2002 in Pine Bluff. Born August 9, 1924 in New Gascony, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Amalia Berluti Turchi. She moved to Pine Bluff at the age of two and was reared and educated in Pine Bluff. She graduated from the Annunciation Academy in Pine Bluff.
Margaret worked for Conery Drugs as a retail clerk for forty four years. She was a long time member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister, leader of the Scripture Study group, a member of the Altar Society and of Catholic Daughters of America. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4455, and was a member of two Monday night bowling leagues for several years.
She was preceded in death by four brothers; Nano Jack Turchi, Floyd Turchi, Ardovino "Foster" Turchi, and Frank Turchi Jr.
Margaret is survived by her sister, Rosa Atchley of Pine Bluff; her brother, Louis V. Turchi of Pine Bluff and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at 10:00 AM at Saint Joseph Catholic Church with Father Andy Smith officiating and under the direction of Ralph Robinson & Son. Burial will follow at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The rosary will be led by Father Fred Gunti, Tuesday, July 23, 2002, at 6:30 PM at the chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son. Memorials may be made to Saint Joseph Catholic Church. The family will be at 4709 N. Rockwood in Pine Bluff.

Julia Cooke Blankenship
December 04, 1920 - July 26, 2002

Julia Cooke Blankenship,81, a resident of Pine Bluff died Friday July 27, 2002, at Trinity Village. Born December 4, 1920, in Wynne, Arkansas, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth S. L. and Alice Bryant Cooke. She graduated from Malvern High School. She married Samuel Wirt Blankenship, Jr. in Forrest City on December 10, 1939. She and her husband lived in Lincoln and Jefferson Counties where they held farming interests.
Julia was a member of the Grady United Methodist Church. She was active in Grady and Star City garden clubs, Parent Teacher Association organizations, Girl Scouts, and the Community Concert Association. Julia was an avid reader and a swimmer.
Julia was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, by a son, Samuel Wirt Blankenship III, one brother and one sister.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Mike Overton of Springdale; one daughter, Jo Blankenship of Little Rock; one son, John Robert Blankenship of Daytona Beach Florida; four grandchildren: Brent Shinall, Junior of Dallas, Texas; Brian Shinall of Amarillo, Texas; Pat Shinall and Micah Overton both of Springdale; and her caregiver, Ruthie Lee Bohanner.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, July 29, 2002, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with the Reverend Fred Arnold and David Ashcroft officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Monday, July 29, 2002, at Ralph Robinson & Son. Pallbearers will be her four grandsons; W. P. Blankenship, Sr., W. P. Blankenship, Jr., Ron Blankenship and Don Blankenship. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Grady Lions Club.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Care Services, 3801 Camden Road, Suite 12, Pine Bluff, AR 71603; Trinity Village, 6400 Trinity Drive, Pine Bluff 71603; or to Grady United Methodist Church, Grady, Arkansas 71644.

Lonnie ( Junior ) Dempsey
May 02, 1929 - October 19, 2001

Lonnie "Junior" Dempsey, 72, of Sherrill died Friday October 19, 2001 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. Born May 2, 1929 at Plumerville, Arkansas, he was a son of the the late Lonnie and Leota Dempsey.
He retired in 1991 after 48 years as a farmer. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Farris Dempsey and R.V. Neal.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Dempsey; three sons, Kenneth Dempsey of Gillett, Freddie Garcia of Sherrill, and Jessie Jasso of White Hall; five daughters, Dellia Kuykendall and Tina Crocker, both of Humphrey, Judy Daughtery of Harrison, Barbara Hall and Lucy Cockrell, both of White Hall; five sisters, Reba Mackey of Clinton, Margaret Anderson of Humphrey, Katherine Thomas of Statesville, North Carolina, Margie Martin of Sikston, Missouri, Alison Wirant of Buchannon, Michigan, and Sharon Robinson of Altheimer; 29 grandchildren and 22 great-granchildren.
Services are 2:00 PM Monday, October 22, 2001, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Jeff Jasso officiating. Burial will be in Flat Bayou Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 PM at Robinson's.
The family will be located at 104 Chestnut in Sherrill.

Leon R. ( Jack ) Cummings
September 12, 1924 - July 27, 2002

Leon R. "Jack" Cummings, 77, of Pine Bluff, died Saturday at the White Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in White Hall. Mr. Cummings was born September 12, 1924, in Rison, Arkansas, a son of the late Lewis Franklin and Hattie Beatrice Morris Cummings.
Mr. Cummings was reared and educated in Rison. He worked as a Truck Driver and a Mechanic for Ben Pearson and later for Insley's Garage.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Lillie Mae Sims.
Mr. Cummings is survived by one brother, J. B. "Buck" Cummings of Heber Springs; five sisters, Irene M. Damron of Benton, Pearlie Geneva Hendrix of Pine Bluff, Bernice Wilkins of Sheridan, Barbara Dell Richardson of Morrilton and Lorece Hart of Pine Bluff.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors with the Reverend Jim Paxton and Reverend Steve Emerson officiating. Interment will be in Davis Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Robinson's from 6 to 8 PM Monday evening.

Eulalia Burnham Freeman
December 01, 1907 - July 27, 2002

Eulalia Burnham Freeman, 94, of Pine Bluff, died at her home on Saturday, July 27, 2002. Mrs. Freeman was born December 1, 1907, in Millville, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Oliver James and Ida Lee Gilbert Burnham. She was reared and educated in Arkansas, was a 1925 graduate of Bearden High School, and a 1926 graduate of Chillicothe Business College.
As a young woman she worked as a secretary and bookkeeper during two periods of several years each for Malco Theaters, Inc., in North Little Rock, and for Arkansas Power and Light Company. She worked for management at the US Naval ordinance plant in Schumaker, near Camden, Arkansas. Moving to Paducah, Kentucky, she joined Schulman Electric Company, a subcontractor for the Atomic Energy Commission in Paducah.
She married Gordon N. Freeman on May 29, 1952, in Stuttgart, Arkansas, and moved to Pine Bluff, residing here since. The avid golfer and arts and crafts lover was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and a former very active member of the Pine Bluff Country Club Women's Golf Association. Mr. Freeman died October 7, 1966.
Her survivors include two great-nieces, Marilyn Cathey of Spring, Texas, and Linda Duncan of Little Rock, and her caregivers, Mark and Carol McGrew of Pine Bluff.
Funeral services are Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at 10:30 AM in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Rev. Don Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Mark and Carol McGrew, 4400 S. Cherry in Pine Bluff. Memorials are requested to Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock, St. Jude's Research Hospital in Memphis, or to Immanuel Baptist Church in Pine Bluff.

Ollie Brookshire
July 30, 2002 - July 30, 2002

Ollie Brookshire, a resident of Pine Bluff died Tuesday, July 30, 2002 in Pine Bluff. Born in Lincoln County she was a daughter of the late John Anthony and Lena Brooks Brookshire. Ollie was reared and received her early education in Pine Bluff and she graduated from Pine Bluff High School.
Ollie was a long time employee of the Ben Pearson Archery Co. where she became a supervisor and from which she retired. She was a long time member of the Carr Memorial United Methodist Church in Pine Bluff.
Ollie is survived by two brothers; Bill Brookshire of Pine Bluff and Hubert Brookshire of Florida, two sisters; Emma Brookshire and Sally Brookshire Wooley of Pine Bluff, and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 10:00 AM Friday, August 2, 2002 at the chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with the reverend Pete Beevers officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. The family will receive guests Thursday, August 1, 2002 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Ralph Robinson & Son. The family will be at 8210 Friendship Dr. in Pine Bluff.

Matthew Jordan Dalrymple
December 20, 1983 - August 01, 2002

Matthew Jordan Dalrymple, 18, of 1309 Hart Avenue, White Hall died Thursday.
Jordan was born December 20, 1983 in Pine Bluff, to Steve and Allison Craig Dalrymple.
He was a 2002 graduate of White Hall High School, and a two year football letterman, and an outstanding lineman his senior year.
Jordan was an avid deer and duck hunter and paintballer. He was a Eagle Scout and member of First Baptist Scout Troup #106. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Jordan also enjoyed touring Europe, which he had done the past four years. Jordan was to enrolled at Arkansas Tech at Russellville this fall.
Jordan is survived by his parents, Steve and Allison Craig Dalrymple, a brother, Alex Dalrymple, paternal grandparents, John Dalrymple of Royal, Margie Rabideau of White Hall, maternal grandparents, Bill and Margie Craig of Little Rock.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, at First Baptist Church of Pine Bluff, with Reverend Gordon Topping officiating. Burial will be in Bellwood Cemetery, by Ralph Robinson and Son.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 6501 S Hazel Street, Pine Bluff, AR 71603

W.T. Eubanks, Jr.
December 21, 1926 - August 01, 2002

Mr. W.T. "Bill" Eubanks, Jr., 75, of 2425 West 24th Avenue, Pine Bluff, Arkansas, died Thursday, August 1, 2002, at his home.
Mr. Eubanks was born December 21, 1926, in Pine Bluff, to the late William T. Eubanks, Sr., and Ocie Mae Reap Eubanks. He was a life long resident of Pine Bluff. He graduated from Watson Chapel High School in 1944. He served in the United States Marine Corps, Army, and Coast Gaurd. He also attended Louisiana State University. He owned and operated Eubanks Wholesale Company for 24 years before retiring in 1991. He was a member of Olive Street Baptist Church, where he was a former Sunday School Teacher and a Boy's Brotherhood Sponsor. Mr. Eubanks fully enjoyed working in his church.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Flossie Mathews Eubanks, whom he married November 7, 1952, in Pine Bluff; daughter, Karan Foust of Pine Bluff, son, William T. Eubanks, III of Charleston, South Carolina, four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, sister, Beverly Jane Crossett of Pine Bluff.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7-9 PM at Robinson's.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Monday, August 5, 2002, 10:00AM, Chapel of Ralph Robinson with Reverend Roger Stewart officiating. Interment will follow at Prosperity Cemetery in Cleveland County.
The family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to Olive Street Baptist Church, 1923 Olive Street, Pine Bluff, Arkansas, 71601, or JRMC Hospice, 1515 West 42nd Avenue, Pine Bluff, Arkansas, 71603.

James Marvin Brown
September 20, 1941 - August 04, 2002

James Marvin Brown, 60, of Pine Bluff, died Sunday, August 4, 2002, at his home. He was born September 20, 1941 in Prescott, Arkansas to L. J. and Hazel Guffey Brown.
He was reared and educated in Wickes, (Polk County) where he graduated from Wickes High School in 1959. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era.
Mr. Brown received his baccalaureate in Vocational Education from the University of Arkansas - Pine Bluff. He also received his masters degree in Vocational Education from the University of Arkansas - Fayetteville. He married the former Mary Lillian Wilson in 1963 in Pine Bluff.
Mr. Brown had previously worked for Southeast Arkansas College (formerly Pines Vocational Technical School) as an Architectural Drafting Instructor. He was currently employed as an Industrial Coordinator with the Arkansas State Department of Education.
Mr. Brown was a member of Forrest Park Baptist Church in Pine Bluff.
He is preceded in death by his father, L. J. Brown.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lillian Wilson Brown of Pine Bluff; son and daughter-in-law, Bradley Lewis and Carol Marlin Brown of Springdale; daughter and son-in-law, Lillian Brown Bock and Kirk Bock of Harrison; mother, Hazel Guffey Brown of Pine Bluff; aunt, Virginia Guffey of Little Rock; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will follow immediately after the service.
Funeral services are 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 6, 2002, Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son with Brother Frank Pfenenger and Reverend Scott Shafer officiating. Interment in Graceland Cemetery.
The family ask that memorials be made to Forrest Park Baptist Church, 3706 South Cherry Street, Pine Bluff, Arkansas, 71603.
