PAUL GONZALES

DE QUEEN, Ark. - Paul Gonzales, 85, of De Queen died Monday, Aug. 15, 2005, at his home.

Mr. Gonzales was born Jan. 15, 1920, in Houston. He was retired from General Motors, Michigan, and a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness.

Survivors include one sister, Ambroshia Jaure of Dallas; and one great - niece, Athena Markle of Lockesburg, Ark.

Cremation arrangements are under direction of Chandler Funeral Home.

Martha Ann Byers, 62, of Texarkana, Ark., died Saturday, April 22, 2006, at her home.

Martha Ann Byers, 62, of Texarkana, Ark., died Saturday, April 22, 2006, at her home.

Mrs. Byers was born June 2, 1943, in Mena, Ark. She was owner of Caps, Tees and Uniforms, and Byers Trucking Co. and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Kelly Byers Goodrick.

Survivors include three sons, Kenny Byers, Terry Byers and Kevin Byers of Texarkana; three daughters, Darlene Byers, Laquita Osburn and Marqueta Byers of Texarkana; her mother, Eva Mae Lawrence of Mena; four brothers, Mark Lawrence of Washington, Donnie Lawrence of Wickes, Ark., Ritchie Lawrence of Colorado and Dale Lawrence of Oregon; two sisters, Barbara Lawrence of Wyoming and Jean Early of Tulsa, Okla.; four grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Texarkana Funeral Home with Chaplain B.J. Garrett officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Valley Cemetery, Gillham, Ark.

Visitation will be 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Relatives will be at 1513 Euclid.

EUDIE HARVIN

James Edward “Eudie” Harvin, 58, of Garland City, Ark., died Monday, April 24, 2006, in a Shreveport, La., hospital.

Mr. Harvin was born Feb. 23, 1948, in Texarkana, Ark. He was a 32nd degree Mason, Master Mason of Sidney Lodge 455, a Shriner, a member of Rocky Mound Baptist Church and an Army veteran.

Survivors include one daughter, Stephina Gipson of South Dakota; one son, James Harvin of South Dakota; his mother, Evelyn Louise Harvin of Fouke, Ark.; his stepmother, Leona Mae Harvin of Genoa, Ark.; 11 brothers, Johnny Harvin, Bennie Harvin, Jimmy Harvin, Mackey Harvin, Mike Harvin, Frank Harvin, Tim Harvin, Lynn Harvin, Dole Harvin, Dale Harvin and Clifford Harvin; three grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Rocky Mound Cemetery with the Rev. Todd Reed officiating. Burial with military and Masonic rites will be under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Rocky Mound Cemetery Association, 3600 Old Blackman Ferry Road, Texarkana, Ark., 71854.

Relatives will be at the home of Bennie Harvin, Genoa.

CASH REGISTER

Cash Register, 59, of Texarkana, Ark., died Sunday, April 23, 2006, in a local hospital.

Mr. Register was born Sept. 11, 1946, in Lake City, Fla. He was a retired truck driver. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Jessica Register; and one son, Joe Register.

Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Bellew Register of Texarkana; two daughters and one son - in - law, Melissa Cunningham of Ashdown, Ark., and Tonya and Phillip Runnels of Bloomburg, Texas; one son and daughter - in - law, Chad and Jo Ann Stroope of Texarkana; his mother, Virginia Register of Springhill, Fla.; three sisters, Allie Mae Kakesh of Italy and Carrol Culler and Eilene Register of Springhill; six grandchildren; and one great - granddaughter.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. today at Harmony Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Wallace Edgar officiating. Burial will be under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home.

Relatives will be at 4043 Genoa Road.

STAMPS, Ark. - Gladys Smith Holt, 76, of Buckner, Ark., died Monday, April 24, 2006, in a Texarkana hospital.

STAMPS, Ark. - Willie Sims, 51, of Minden, La., formerly of Stamps, died Monday, April 24, 2006, in a Minden hospital.

ELIZABETH REYNOLDS

Elizabeth Izora Reynolds, 91, of Texarkana, Ark., died Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at her home.

Mrs. Reynolds was born April 10, 1915, in Dewitt, Mo. She was a homemaker and a member of Full Gospel Tabernacle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Reynolds; one son, Bobby Reynolds; and one daughter, Bernice Stevens.

Survivors include seven sons, Gene Reynolds, Jesse Reynolds, Tex Reynolds, Tommy Reynolds, Travis Mullins, Merle Reynolds and Gregory Lee of Texarkana; four daughters, Margie Young, Cloya Boswell and Rita Boswell of Texarkana and Phyllis Walker of Mena, Ark.; one sister, Almeda Walker of Atoka, Okla.; and a number of other relatifves.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Full Gospel Tabernacle with the Rev. Simon Young officiating. Burial will be in East Memorial Gardens under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home.

DOROTHY COOPER

Dorothy Faye Cooper, 78, of Texarkana, Ark., died Friday, April 7, 2006, at her home.

Mrs. Cooper was born Sept. 25, 1927, in Texarkana. She was a professional model, an actress and a Christian.

Survivors include one son, Robert Beth of Dallas; and one special friend, Billie Vaughn of Texarkana.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at East Memorial Gardens. Burial will be under direction of East Funeral Home, Downtown.

ELMA CARMICHAEL

STAMPS, Ark. - Elma Carmichael, 55, of Duncanville, Texas, died Tuesday, June 15, 2004, in a Little Rock hospital.

Ms. Carmichael was born Feb. 21, 1949, in Waldo, Ark. She was a member of Potter's House, Dallas.

Survivors include one daughter, Zorana Brown of Little Rock; one sister, Hazel Anderson of Waldo; and one brother, Johnny Mixon of Dallas.

Services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at New Bethel AME Church, Waldo, with the Rev. Jeff Jefferson officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery under direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The Rev. James Williams, 61, of Texarkana, Ark., died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, in a Texarkana nursing home.

Arrangements are pending with Moore's Funeral Home.

HAZELLE HAWKINS

Hazelle Penn Hawkins, 88, of Little Rock died Saturday, April 22, 2006.

Mrs. Hawkins was a homemaker and member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, Little Rock.

Survivors include her husband, Woodrow W. Hawkins; one son and daughter - in - law, Randy and Suzanne Hawkins of Little Rock; one daughter and son - in - law, Debbie and Larry Wood of Hooks, Texas; five grandchildren, Chris, Mandy, Kristy, Doug and Kimberly; and two great - grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. today at Chapelwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis F. Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in East Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be made to Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, 23908 Colonel Glenn Road, Little Rock, Ark., 72210.

CARSON GREEN JR.

HOPE, Ark. - Carson Green Jr., 73, of Hope died Friday, April 21, 2006, in a local nursing home.

Mr. Green was born July 8, 1932. He was retired from Bruner Ivory Handle Mill and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church, Patmos, Ark.

Survivors include his wife, Estella Green of Hope; three daughters, Teresa Green and Jennifer Moses of Hope and Brenda Nichols of Texarkana; seven sons, Walter Green of Albuquerque, N.M., Edgar N. Green of Tucson, Ariz., Larry Green of Jacksonville, Fla., Jerry Green, Tommy Green and Kenneth Green of Hope and Ricky Green of Graffendowoehr, Germany; one sister, Louise Palmer of Hope; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at New Bethel Baptist Church with the Revs. Eugene Toney and Robert Nichols officiating. Burial will be in Giles Memorial Cemetery, Patmos, under direction of Brandon’s Mortuary.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
