Jackie Lee Wood
April 22, 1944 - January 21, 2012

Jackie Lee Wood, 67, of Pine Bluff, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2012, at his home.

Born April 22, 1944 in Kansas City, Missouri, he was the son of the late Richard Emory and Patricia Burkhart Wood. He was reared and received his early education in Fayetteville, Arkansas, graduating from high school there.

In 1960, he joined the United States Navy, serving in Vietnam as a Navy Seal, receiving several service medals. He worked as an outside sales representative for several years before retiring. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Wood and son, Ross Emory Wood, both of Pine Bluff.

Funeral service will be held 2:00PM, Tuesday, January 24, 2012, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Norman Ross, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Robinson’s.

Dorothy Lee Ramick (Case)
November 26, 1929 - January 23, 2012

Dorothy Lee Ramick, age 82, of Little Rock, died Monday, January 23, 2012, at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock. Mrs. Ramick was born November 26, 1929, in Pine Bluff, a daughter of the late Thomas Virgil Case and Opal Fay Woodward Brake.

Mrs. Ramick was reared and recieved her education in Pine Bluff. She worked at the National Bank of Commerce (now Bank of America) in Pine Bluff. She moved to Jacksonville in 1974. Upon moving to Jacksonville, she began working at Remington Arms as a Primer Machine Operator for eighteen years, retiring in February of 1992.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Ramick was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Luther Leon Ramick in 1961; son, Rodney L. Ramick; two grandsons, John David "Jody" Finch and Brian Michael Carpenter.

She is survived by two daughters, Pamela L. Ramick Jackson of Aliso Viejo, California and Debra L. Ramick Glass and husband Tom, of Little Rock; two brothers, Chester V. Case of San Diego, California and Thomas V. Case of Tennessee; four grandsons, Tom and Phillip Jackson of California, Blake Ramick of Dallas and Kevin Carpenter of Colorado; nieces, Donna Ramick Callaway and Judy Ramick Hudson and several other nieces and nephews

A special "Thanks" to Drs. Alex David, Greg Bienvenu, Gary Glasco, and Michael Bierle. Also, Saline County Dialysis, Hospice Home Care of Little Rock and Four Seasons Residential Care of Benton.

A Memorial sevice will be Saturday, January 28, 2012, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Dr. Dan Festa officiating.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Arkansas Childrens Hospital, 1 Childrens Way, Little Rock, Arkansas 72202 or Hospice Home Care of Little Rock, 2200 South Bowman Road, Little Rock, Arkansas 72211.

Dorothy L. Moring
July 28, 1946 - January 28, 2012

Dorothy L. Moring, 65, of White Hall, died Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.

She was born July 28, 1946 in Pine Bluff, daughter of Lynnel and Evelyn Howard DeFoor.

Dorothy was reared and received her early education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School in 1966.

She co-owned and operated Precision Auto Body Werkes for 20 years with her husband, John Michael Moring.

Dorothy was a member of Good Faith Carr United Methodist Church.

She loved spending time with her three beautiful grandchildren. "Mamaw" attended her grandchildren's activities whenever possible. Dorothy enjoyed playing the piano and cooking for her family.

Mrs. Moring was preceded in death by her husband, John Michael Moring, whom she married May 9, 1966 in Pine Bluff; and her parents.

Survivors include her two daughters, Sherry Lee Munson and her husband, Greg of Bono and Vickey Moring Warriner of White Hall; brother, Ronald Eugene DeFoor of Pine Bluff; three grandchildren, Tim Munson, Aaron Warriner and Lilly Warriner; and her mother-in-law, Tennie Mae Kaplon of Pine Bluff.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Good Faith Carr United Methodist Church with Reverend Mike Wilkie officiating. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5-7 PM at Robinson's.

Memorials may be made to Good Faith Carr United Methodist Church, 3703 Ryburn Road, Pine Bluff, Arkansas 71603.

The family will be at 201 Edwards Street in White Hall.

Odis D. Clark
February 26, 1940 - January 28, 2012

Odis D. Clark, age 71, of Pine Bluff, died Saturday, January 28, 2012, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. Mr. Clark was born February 26, 1940, in Pine Bluff, a son of the late John William Clark and Grace Marie Robertson Clark Frazer.

Mr. Clark was reared and received his education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Watson Chapel High School. He also attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello, Henderson State University, Northeast Louisiana University, the University of Alabama, and the University of Texas at Arlington. He taught school at Watson Chapel for seventeen years and was the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum. He was Superintendent of Schools at Plainview, Eudora and retired from the Danville School District in 1988.

Mr. Clark was a member of Jacob Brump Lodge #160 F&AM in Pine Bluff.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Merrine Carver

Survivors include two brothers, Franklin D. Clark of Pine Bluff and Archie Clark of Leesville, Louisiana; a sister, LaVenda Keatts of Leesville, Louisiana; several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at 1:30 PM at Holly Springs Baptist Church, 13369 Highway 54 East, Star City, Arkansas, with Reverend James Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in the Holly Springs Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Robinson's Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM.

James Russell Ard
November 19, 1945 - January 28, 2012

James Russell Ard, 66, a resident of Pine Bluff, died Saturday, January 28, 2012, at his home.

Born November 19, 1945, in Pine Bluff, he was a son of Otha and Ollie Anderson Ard.

Mr. Ard worked for the Cotton Belt Railroad. James Russell Ard married Cindi Foster on December 17, 1981, in Pine Bluff.

Survivors include his wife, Cindi Ard; his mother, Ollie Ard; three sons, Bryan Ard, Gordon Ard, and Jared Rose; one daughter, Mary Ann Romine; two brothers, Jessie and Larry Ard; three sisters, Ida Works, Teresa Funderburg, and Tracie Stanley; ten grandchildren.

The visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at Ralph Robinson & Son.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at Providence Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Bobby Hartsfield officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery by Ralph Robinson & Son.

Olive Goldberger (Johnson)
August 24, 1925 - January 30, 2012

Olive Johnson Goldberger, 86, of Pine Bluff, died Monday, January 30, 2012, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Goldberger was born August 24, 1925, in Manchester, England, to the late Harry Shaw and Laura Hayes Johnson. She was reared and received her education in Swinton, England, where she graduated from Swinton High School. She moved to Pine Bluff in 1946.

Olive Johnson married Alvin J. Goldberger on March 17, 1945 in Swinton, England. Mr. Goldberger passed away on February 4, 2001.

Mrs. Goldberger co-owned and operated Goldberger Jewelry Store for 25 years, retiring in 1979.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she had taught Sunday School. She was also a volunteer at Jefferson Regional Medical Center for 12 years.

Her survivors include her daughter, Susan Lynn Goldberger of Pine Bluff; granddaughter, Laura Lynn Elliott of Pine Bluff; great-grandson, Camron Luke Elliott; a sister, Rene Hill of Bournemouth, England; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Goldberger was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alvin Goldberger, and her brother, Harry Johnson.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, 6:00 to 8:00 PM, at Robinson's.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, February 1, 2012, 3:00 PM, at Graceland Cemetery with Reverend Dean Clausing officiating by Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors.

The family would like to give a very special thanks to Hospice Angels, Hospice Homecare at JRMC, Ladies Mary Guild of Trinity Lutheran, Mrs. Betty Rice, Mr. Don Richter, and Mrs. Evelyn Acuff.

Glenn Gathright
February 12, 1935 - February 3, 2012

Glenn Gathright, 76, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, died Friday, February 3, 2012, at his home.

He was born February 12, 1935, in Pine Bluff, to Amos and Mary Shaha Gathright.

Mr. Gathright was reared and received his education from Pine Bluff High School.

He retired from General Water Works of Pine Bluff and then went on to retired from the Pine Bluff Arsenal.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pine Bluff, the Matthew-Bob Norton Sunday School Class, Hardee’s Men’s Coffee Club and the Jacob Brumb Lodge #160.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Theda Coser Gathright of 56 years; a daughter, Kay Gathright of Damascus, Arkansas; a son, Ken Gathright of Denver, Colorado; sisters, Annette Gathright and Virginia Owen both of The Villages, Florida; two grandchildren, Amber Gathright of Pine Bluff and Daniel Gathright of Denver.

Visitation will be 2 to 4 PM, Sunday, February 5, 2012, at Robinson’s.

Memorial service will be 10 AM, Monday, February 6, 2012, Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Wesley Watts officiating.

Eve Dilley Irwin
June 29, 1931 - February 3, 2012

Eve Dilley Irwin, 80, of Pine Bluff died Friday, February 3, 2012 in Pine Bluff. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, June 29, 1931, the daughter of Edward S. and Myrtle Smith Dilley, Eve was reared in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School where she was a cheerleader and Band Queen.

She attended Mary Baldwin College and the University of Arkansas where she was president of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She married Raymond A. Irwin, Jr., MD June 4, 1962 in Texarkana, Arkansas. Dr. Irwin died in 2004.

A member of Trinity Episcopal Church, she was a sustaining member and past president of the Junior League of Pine Bluff, member and past president of Junior Sesame, member of the Mathontes Club, and member of the Bridge Club that has met for 50 years but hasn't played bridge in 40.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Lander Dilley and Mr. and Mrs. Francis M. Smith.

Her survivors include five children, Lyn (Ric) Webb of Little Rock, Jan Dilley Irwin, Scott (Marilyn) Irwin, Ray (Gabriela) Irwin and Rob (Lee Lee) Irwin of Houston, Texas. She has eight grandchildren, Raymond Scott Gaddis, Lander Dilley Irwin, Robert Alexander Irwin, William Carter Irwin, Carson Hayes Irwin, Sarah Evelyn Irwin, Robert Scott (Bud) Irwin, and Alexandra Favre Irwin.

Funeral services are Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Reverend Dr. Walter Van Zandt Windsor officiating. Interment follows at Graceland Cemetery by Ralph Robinson & Son.

The family thanks Girtha Adway for her devotion and care during Eve's final days.
