Mrs. Virginia Reynolds

Mrs. Virginia Reynolds, 78, of Clarksville died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

A native of Lamar, she was a daughter of the late Tom and Lela Higgs Kirkpatrick, widow of John Reynolds, member of Knoxville First Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by one brother, Lonnie Kirkpatrick; and one sister, Toka Smith.

Survivors are one son, Mike Reynolds of Hartman; one daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Danny Rice of Hartman; one sister, Juanita Echols of Nashville; six grandchildren, Mikie Reynolds of Clarksville, Johnny Reynolds of Coal Hill, Jennette Hern of Hartman, and Joseph Reynolds, Daniel Rice, and John Rice, all of Hunt; and seven great-grandchildren, Morgan and Courtney Reynolds, both of Coal Hill, Demi, Zane and Thad Reynolds, all of Clarksville, and Aaron Rice and Britlee Hern, both of Hartman.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14, at the Knoxville First Baptist Church with Rev. Ira Taylor officiating.

Burial was in Knoxville Cemetery under the direction of Shinn Funeral Home of Russellville.

Active pallbearers were Mike Killough, Frank Killough, Johnny Rice, Shane Davidson, Don Davidson, and David Holt.

Honorary pallbearers were Mikie Reynolds, Johnny Reynolds, Joseph Reynolds, Daniel Rice, and John Rice.

Memorials may be made to Knoxville First Baptist Church.

Anna Lee Newell

Anna Lee Newell, 91, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, at Southpointe Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

She was a native of Johnson County, daughter of the late W. D. and Mattie Conway Phillips of the Spring Hill Community, widow of George Newell, and was preceded in death by four brothers, Ben P., John J., George K., and W. D. Jr.; and three sisters, Edna Temple, Avo Geisler, and Ruth Stewart.

Survivors include one son, Tom of Carson City, Nev.; one daughter, Patricia Smith of St. Louis, Mo.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services and burial were Monday, Nov. 13, at Fridens Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo., under the direction of Buckholz Mortuary.

David Mark Scott

David Mark Scott, 73, of Hartman died Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

He was a son of the late Letis Corwin and Hazel May Mendenhall Scott, an Army veteran and construction worker.

Survivors include his widow, Geraldine M. Scott; three daughters, Lois Carter of St. Louis, Mo., and Anna Lou Turner and Patricia Qualls, both of Clarksville; one sister, Nerva Scott Williams of Indiana; one brother, Russell F. Scott of Clarksville; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Darrell Kobs and Rev. Terry Schlinker officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.

Ethel M. Paxson

Ethel M. Paxson, 84, of London died Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, at Dardanelle Nursing Center.

She was a daughter of the late James and Etta Phelps Wolfe, affiliated with the Pentecostal faith, and was preceded in death by one sister, Nellie Cantrell; and one brother, Lester Wolfe.

Survivors include her husband, Harry Paxson; one daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Lee Morgan of London; three sons and two daughters-in-law, James and Joan Paxson of Clarksville, Ronald L. Paxson of Lamar, and Tarry and Kathy Paxson of Knoxville; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Doug Ming officiating. Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. at the National Cemetery in Fort Smith.

Pallbearers were Skip Wiggins, Steve Wilcox, Ray Britton, Kevin Ramsey, Kerry Wiggins, Bill Hill, Tim Storms, and Quinton Ramsey.

Georgia J. Campbell

Georgia Jacobs Campbell, 92, of Wewoka, Okla., died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000, at her home.

She was a former resident of Lamar, daughter of the late Lou and C. D. Jacobs, and the widow of Everett Campbell.

Survivors include three nieces, Bette Bright of Hot Springs, Pam Newton of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Peggy Crockett of Dallas, Texas.

Funeral and burial were Sunday, Nov. 5, in Wewoka, Okla.

Judy Kaye Schouweiler

Judy Kaye Schouweiler, 52, of Scranton died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, in Little Rock.

She was a Baptist and employed in the sanitation department of Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Clarksville.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Schouweiler; two daughters, Angela Draper of Midway and Karen Tucker of Knoxville; two sons, Darrell Schouweiler of Branch and Kevin Schouweiler of Clarksville; parents, John and Verena Beck of Paris; one brother, Albert Beck of Lavaca; and 13 grandchildren.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, at Crestview Baptist Church in Midway.

Burial was in Prairie View Cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.

Pallbearers were Avery Parsons, Glen Heft, John Stansberry, Russell Schabell, Jimmy Patterson, and Boyd Blackard.

Jo Ann Pledger

Jo Ann Alston Pledger, 69, of Ozark died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith.

She was a native of Fort Smith, daughter of the late Joel and Ruby Williamson Jeffers, widow of Jim Jack Alston and Thomas Pledger, a member of the Altus Methodist Church, and retired.

She is survived by two daughters, Teresa Medford of Fort Smith and Linda Alston of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; one son, Jim Alston of Mt. Vernon, Texas; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at the Altus Methodist Church with Rev. Jim McElhaney officiating.

Burial was in the Rankin Cemetery under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers were Doug Pledger, Allan Hall, Terry Lewis, Robert Ross, Bryan Alston, Chris Alston, and Philip Alston.

Honorary pallbearers were Kenneth Ross, Harold Jennings and Gus Shaffer.

Johnnie Smith

Johnnie Smith, 70, of Centerton, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, at St. Mary Rogers Memorial Hospital.

A native of Swain, he was a son of the late Preston and Gracie Thomas Smith, former resident of Oark and Wichita, Kan., member of the American Hereford Association, American Quarter Horse Association, Ozark Quarter Horse Association and Bentonville Riding Club and a retired production manager of Bemco Inc., after 39 years of service. He was preceded in death by one brother; two sisters; and one grandson.

Survivors include two daughters, Rena Jo Deiner of Grandview, Wash., and Gracie DaLane Ramsey of Noel, Mo.; one brother and sister-in-law, Dolan and Lorene Smith of Farmington; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Jackie James of Hartman and Betty and Marvin Graves of Springdale; one sister-in-law, Ella Smith of Bentonville; five grandchildren, Dallas and Chyanne Deiner, Blake Moser, and Brett and Kendra Ramsey; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at Rollins Funeral Home with Pastor Dick Rogers and Rev. Donn Roach officiating. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Hospice, 1200 West Walnut, Rogers, AR 72756.
