Jessie M. Walters

Jessie M. Walters, 78, of Clarksville died Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

A native of Jenny Lind, she was a daughter of the late Philip and Mary Logi Vozel, graduate of Charleston High School, and member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and Mothers Altar Society.

Survivors include her husband, Jack Walters; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Mickey Patterson of Paris and Jayne and Stephen Usery of St. Paul, Minn.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Leandra Walters of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Jim and Charlotte Walters of Clarksville; one brother, Joe Vozel of Clarksville; and six grandchildren.

Rosary service was at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel. Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Rev. William Wewers officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery at Fort Smith.

Pallbearers were Jon, Joe, James, and Danny Walters, Bernard Werner, and Gene Raible.

Leonora Falls Wilcox

Leonora Falls Wilcox, 89, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.

A native of Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Thomas B. and Sallie Evans Falls, widow of Rev. J. Clarence Wilcox, member of Clarksville First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Power Circle and the Fellowship Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class, a member of Partners in Ministry of the Fort Smith District of the United Methodist Church, and a member of PEO.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James Thomas and Laura Lee Wilcox of Rogers; two sisters, Hazel Hamaker of Pottsville and Patsy Barrett of Clarksville; two brothers, Rev. William Nale Falls of Little Rock and Thomas Bunn Falls of North Little Rock; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral was at 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at the First United Methodist Church in Clarksville with Rev. Lowell Eaton officiating. Burial was in Pisgah Cemetery at Pottsville under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers were Dylan Hawkins, Cleve Reasoner, Mike Falls, Max Falls, John Falls, and J. J. Wilcox.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the Fellowship Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women.

Robert Ed Ferguson

Robert Ed Ferguson, 58, of Clarksville died Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, at his home.

He was a native of Clarksville, member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, a Catholic brother for ten years, a lithographer, college teacher, union negotiator and organizer, and a member and past president of Kiwanis Club in Vallejo, Calif.

He is survived by one daughter, Kitty Ferguson of Sierraville, Calif.; one son, Tom Ferguson of Clarksville; one brother, Floyd Ferguson of San Francisco, Calif.; two grandchildren, Brianna and Thomas Ferguson; and three nephews, Matt, Mike and Bruce Ferguson.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Bellinghausen officiating. The body was cremated with cremains buried in Stillwell Cemetery.

Maxine M. Boswell

Maxine M. Boswell, 68, of Floral, mother of Michael E. Boswell of Clarksville, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000.

She was a native of Pleasant Plains, daughter of the late Clarence and May Wood, widow of Samuel Boswell, and member of the Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by one other son, Dr. Clifford A. Boswell of Batesville, formerly of Clarksville; two brothers, Jerldean Wood of Floral and Lowell Wood of Nashville, Tenn.; three sisters, Vera Gay and Avis Gay, both of Batesville, and Lola Reaper of Pangburn; and four grandchildren, Zachary, Micah, Jacob and Leah Boswell, all of Batesville.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, at the Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church with burial in Union Grove Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Powell Funeral Home of Bald Knob-Judsonia.

Agnes Marie Freeman

Agnes Marie Freeman, 83, of Dardanelle died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at the Dardanelle Nursing Center.

She was a native of the Minnow Creek Community, daughter of the late Finis Lee and Rosa Agnes Lund Freeman, graduate of Lamar High School and Arkansas State Teachers College, a teacher at Lamar High School until her retirement, member of the Arkansas Teachers Association and the First Baptist Church in Dardanelle, and was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth Freeman, Conrad Freeman and Bill Freeman; and two sisters, Leo (Johnie) Hobbs and Cleo Puckett.

She is survived by one sister, Eunice Davis of Dardanelle; one brother, Guy Freeman of El Dorado; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral was at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle with Rev. David Bishop officiating. Burial was in Hagarville Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Larry Freeman, Jack Freeman, Bobby Freeman, Howard Freeman, Wayne Freeman, and David Freeman.

Honorary pallbearer was Eric Ford.

Clydes Czarnikow

Clydes Czarnikow, 79, of Lamar died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home in Lamar.

She was a former resident of Roland, Okla., daughter of the late Willie Francis and Liddie Alice Dobbs, widow of Joel B. Czarnikow, Baptist, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Crumrine and Lillie Marie McElhaney; and four brothers, John Ralph Dobbs, Marvin Dobbs, M. J. Dobbs, and Kenneth Lavon Dobbs.

She is survived by one sister, Betty Bauman of Clarksville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ronnie Crumrine, Amzy Garrett, Varnell Nelson, Ron Crumrine Jr., Bridges Crumrine, and Joe Dan Calvin.

Eileen Donnell Smith

Eileen Donnell Smith, 83, of Clarksville died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

A native of Clarksville, she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Sallie McAlister Tolbert, widow of Thad Donnell and Don Smith, 1934 graduate of Clarksville High School, member of the Clarksville Church of Christ, former peach grower, former owner and operator of Stewart Donnell Fashions, Donnell Young Furniture Store, Clarksville Carpet Store, and Horn Donnell Furniture and Carpet Store, and was preceded in death by two brothers, Horace Tolbert and Watts Tolbert; and two sisters, Mary Woodard and Lucille Norris.

She is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Russell and Mildred Tolbert of Clarksville; three nephews, James Tolbert of North Little Rock, George Tolbert of Franklin, Tenn., and Phillip Tolbert of Muskogee, Okla.; five nieces, Johnnie K. Westbrook of Little Rock, Sue Bennett of Knoxville, Mary Jo Hurley of Clarksville, Sharon Childers of Alexander, and Maris Fletcher of Beebe; one other sister-in-law, Opal Tolbert of Clarksville; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, at the Clarksville Church of Christ with John Ballard officiating.

Burial was in Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Brian Tolbert, Thad Tolbert, Steven Tolbert, Steven Childers, William Rutledge, and James Horn.

Eva Cameron Pazdera

Eva Cameron Pazdera, 86, of Clarksville died Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, at Clarksville Convalescent Home.

She was a native of Paris, daughter of the late Samuel R. and Mary E. Sullivan Cameron, widow of Tony Pazdera, member of the Assembly of God Church, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Julia Marie Peden; one sister, Lorene; and four brothers, Jim, Delbert, Ted and Emery Cameron.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Roger James of Fayetteville; three sisters, Violet Stark of Kansas, Ora Mae Clary of Rison, and Lydia (Doll) Dalton of Van Buren; one brother, Otis Cameron of California; three grandchildren, Wayne Peden of Clarksville, Jim Peden of Lewisville, Colo., and Tara Lynn Wilkins of Texas; and three great-grandchildren, Ryan and C. J. Peden, both of Clarksville; and Cameron Peden of Lewisville, Colo.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Billy Usery officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Wes Kendrick, Don Pennington, Burley Shook, Jess Thompson, Duane Steele, and Edd Young.
