Catherine O. Cullins

Catherine Overbey Cullins, 92, of Lamar died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001, at Russellville Nursing Center.

She was a native of Lamar, daughter of the late D. L. and Mable Wilson Overbey, widow of Albert Riley Cullins, attended Second District Agriculture School (now Arkansas Tech University) and was a member of the first graduating class of Lamar High School in 1927, a retired employee of the Chrysler Corporation in Detroit, Mich., and a member of Lamar United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Arch, Vaughn, Jack, Bill, Paul and George Overbey Jr.; and two sisters, Varnell Overbey Jones and Imogene Overbey.

Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Harold L. (Jack) Overbey of Scranton and Mrs. George Overbey Sr. of Lamar; six nieces; and six nephews.

Funeral was at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, at the Lamar United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Nease and Rev. Phil Sturdy officiating.

Burial was in Lamar Cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were nephews, George Overbey Jr., Bill Overbey, Don Overbey, Rogers Overbey, Wayne Jones, Dr. Bob Cogburn, A. J. Pluggee, Wilson Overbey, and Doug Stumbaugh.

Frances Thompson

Frances Thompson, 97, of Clarksville died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001, at her home.

She was a native of Cane Hill, widow of Fletcher Thompson, a Red Cross volunteer during World War II, and a member of Phi Mu Sorority and the First United Methodist Church where she was a member and past president of the Methodist Women's Association. She served on the Johnson County Library Board for several years having compiled the history of the Johnson County Library.

Survivors are two granddaughters, Kathy Robertson of Clarksville and Phyllis Tucker of Little Rock; three great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 3, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Lowell Eaton officiating.

Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Grabher, Ron Taylor, Michael Webb, Howard Haasis, Robert Carter, and Jess Thompson.

Memorials may be made to Johnson County Public Library, No. 2 Taylor Circle, Clarksville, AR 72830.

Mable R. Duncan

Mable Rhea Young Duncan, 52, of Sherwood, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2001, at North Little Rock.

She was a Southwest Airlines employee, member of Sherwood Baptist Church, daughter of the late August H. and Bonnie Yarbrough Young and widow of Ken Duncan.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Belinda Darlene and Ryan Polk of Sherwood; one son, Kenny Dwaine Duncan of Little Rock; three sisters, Gladys Troxell, Berthra Young, and Nancy Young, all of North Little Rock; and four brothers, Harvey Young of Coal Hill, August H. Young Jr. and Ray J. Young, both of Clarksville, and John P. Young of Illinois.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, at Roller-Cox Chapel in Clarksville with Rev. Keith Clark and Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial was in Liberty Hill Cemetery at Hunt.

Active pallbearers were Harry Stockton, Barry Park, Bob McGuire, Johnny Schuh, Clinton Holland and Raymond Young.

Honorary pallbearers were Everett Willis and Billy Joe Gipson.

Paul Eugene Adams

Paul Eugene Adams, 62, of Lancaster, Calif., died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001.

He was a native of Knoxville, veteran of the U. S. Air Force, and a resident of the Antelope Valley for 40-plus years.

Survivors include his widow, Patricia Adams; one daughter, Cristal Adams; one son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Nina Adams; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Frances Clayborn of Lamar and Rita and Ken Childers of Clarksville; and six grandchildren, Jennifer, Dianna, Brianna, Britney, Tawni, and Courtney.

Services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, at Joshua Memorial Park and Mortuary with burial in Lancaster, Calif.

Sara Price Troglin

Sara Price Troglin, 85, of Russellville died Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, at University Hospital in Little Rock.

A native of Evening Shade, she was a daughter of the late Cleo and Victoria Smalley Price, widow of Grover (Bo) Troglin, 1936 graduate of Arkansas Tech University, member of Second Baptist Church and attended the Bible Study Fellowship. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Lloyd; and two sisters, Vera and Carolyn.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, David and Patricia (Clubb) Troglin and Morris and Dorothy Troglin, all of Russellville, and Raymond and Tamara Troglin of Kansas City, Mo.; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jerry Smith of Russellville; one sister, Lafon Price of Ash Flat; one brother, Max Price of Corpus Christi, Texas; and six grandchildren, Michael Troglin of Charlotte, N. C., Lori White of Ozark, Dawn Geyer of Deer Park, Wash., Daniel Troglin of the Little Rock Air Force Base in Jacksonville, and Amy Smith and Benjamin Smith, both of Russellville.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, at Humphrey Funeral Service Chapel in Russellville with Rev. David McLemore officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville.

Memorials may be made to the Second Baptist Church Building Fund.

Shirley Irene White

Shirley Irene White, 38, of Knoxville died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001, at her home.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Sue Young.

Survivors include her husband, Donald White; one daughter, Ashley White of Knoxville; four sons, Timothy White of Lamar, Brandon White and Christopher White, both of Knoxville, and Justin White of Walnut Ridge; parents, James and Laura McGuire of Knoxville; one sister, Patsy Ralls of Clarksville; and six brothers, L. J. McGuire of Wilson, Frank McGuire of Joiner, Ricky Don McGuire of Atlanta, Ga., Jimmy McGuire and Kenneth McGuire, both of Clarksville, and Billy McGuire of Knoxville.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 23, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Ronnie Farmer officiating. Burial was in Batson Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Johnny Little, Josh Baskins, Wayne McCartney, Steve McGuire, Jessie Campbell, and Junior Young.

Wavie R. West

Wavie R. West, 100, of Coal Hill died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

She was a native of Coal Hill, daughter of the late William and Matilda Smith Green, widow of Addison (Banty) West, member of the Coal Hill Church of Christ, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Ella Mae West; and one son, Tommy West.

Survivors include six daughters, Rosetta Britt of Terrell, Texas, Dolores Johnson of Wichita, Kan., Osalee Perry, Wavie York, and Arelevia Perry, all of Clarksville, and Mozella West of Kansas City, Mo.; three sons, Glasper West of Little Rock, Henry West of Kansas City, Mo., and Wilburn West of Wichita, Kan.; three sisters, Rosalee Brown of Little Rock, Evelyn Flood of California, and Sarah Hughes of Van Buren; 28 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 1, at the Coal Hill Church of Christ with John Ballard and Mike Eppinette officiating.

Burial will be in the West Cemetery at Coal Hill under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.

Pallbearers will be William Perry, Ronald Perry, Justin Pittman, Tyrone Perry, Anthony Perry, and Joe Perry Jr.

Zonia Davidson

Zonia Davidson, 98, of Hunt died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001, in Ozark Nursing Home.

She was a daughter of the late John and Dee Kirkendoll Robertson, widow of Lee A. Davidson, a Baptist, and was preceded in death by three sons, Melvin Davidson, John W. (Dub) Davidson, and Dean Davidson; and three sisters, Levon Sanders, Allie Campbell, and Eillse Yarbrough.

She is survived by one son, Don Davidson of Hunt; two sisters, Ila Hardcastle of Hartman and Vuena Mayfield of Coal Hill; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial was in Jackson Cemetery in Franklin County.

Active pallbearers were David Davidson, Don Hurst, Jimmy Davidson, Charles Davidson, Donnie Davidson, and Randy Pointer.

Honorary pallbearers were Ronnie Davidson, Dustin Davidson, Zachary King, Shane Davidson, Toby Pelts, Dylan Selby, Shannon Davidson, Hunter Davidson, Brandon Young, Cody Phillips, Dustin Davidson, and Colton Davidson.
