ALEXANDER SAVAGE

COMPTON, Calif. - Alexander Savage, 18, of Perris, Calif., formely of Texarkana, Ark., died Wednesday, March 17, 2004, in a local hospital.

Mr. Savage was born Jan. 14, 1986, in Long Beach, Calif. He was a high school student and a Catholic.

Survivors include his mother, DeAnn Lewis of Perris; his grandparents, Thomas W. and Elexezenia Lewis; two aunts, Adonis Lewis and Detra Lewis of Long Beach; two uncles, Thomas W. Lewis Jr. of Los Angeles and Kenith Lewis of Perris; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Lucy's Catholic Church, Long Beach. Burial will be in Allsoul Cemetery under direction of Robert L. Adams Mortuary.

JOSE ROJAS

De QUEEN, Ark. - Jose Gaspar Rojas, 26, of De Queen died Sunday, March 21, 2004, in an Idabel, Okla., hospital.

Mr. Rojas was born Oct. 18, 1977, in Jerecuaro, Guanajuato, Mexico. He was a tree planter with Ouachita Forestry and a member of St. Barbara's Catholic Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Kiah Renee Jones of De Queen; his parents, Jose Guadalupe and Alicia Hernandez Tinajero Rojas of La Enrredadora, Guanajuato, Mexico; 11 brothers, Margarito Rojas of Brownsboro, Texas, Guadalupe Rojas, Eugenio Rojas, Benjamin Rojas, Martin Rojas, Saul Rojas and Sergio Rojas of De Queen and Jorge Rojas, Miguel Rojas, Francisco Rojas and Guadalupe Rojas of La Enrredadora; six sisters, Francisca Jimenez and Guillermina Rojas of De Queen and Laura Rojas, Marie de Carmen Rojas, Erika Rojas and Elena Rojas of La Enrredadora; one grandmother, Maria del Carmen Tinajero of La Enrredadora; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Rosary will be 5 p.m. Tuesday at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with John Kerr officiating. Services will be at a later date in La Enrredadora.

RALPH LEWIS

MURFREESBORO, Ark. - Ralph Lewis, 90, of Murfreesboro died Saturday, March 20, 2004, in a local hospital.

Mr. Lewis was born Jan. 25, 1914, in Randolph County, Ark. He was manager of Highland Gypsum Mines and a member of Mufreesboro First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Weatherford Lewis of Murfreesboro; five sons, Dallas Lewis of Cut - N - Shoot, Texas, Boyce Lewis of Richardson, Texas, Jerry Lewis of Glenwood, Ark., Ralph Lewis of Balch Springs, Texas, and Graham Lewis of Shelby, N.C.; two brothers, Walter Lewis of Newport, Ark., and L.Z. Lewis of Grubbs, Ark.; one sister, Ora Mae; 14 grandchildren; 38 great - grandchildren; and eight great - great - grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. today at Latimer Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Troy Carroll and Graham Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Murfreesboro Cemetery.

TALMA HUDMAN

Talma Hudman, 85, of Waldo, Ark., died Sunday, March 21, 2004, in a Texarkana hospital.

Arrangements are pending with Texarkana Funeral Home.

HAROLD EAVES

Harold Leroy Eaves, 77, of Texarkana, Ark., died Sunday, March 21, 2004, in a local hospital.

Mr. Eaves was born July 9, 1926, in Fouke, Ark. He was retired from Red Ball Motor Freight, a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Fouke and a World War II Army and Air Force veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta Evans of Texarkana; five sons, Randy Eaves of Texarkana, Terry Eaves of Irving, Texas, Rusty Eaves of Red Lick, Texas, Gary Eaves of Fouke and Dennis Eaves of Shreveport, La.; one daughter, Margaret Musick of Memphis, Tenn.; three brothers, Alvin Eaves of Texarkana, Barney Eaves of Fouke and Ray Eaves of Forrest Hills, Calif.; one sister, Gladys McDonald of Hot Springs, Ark.; 18 grandchildren; 24 great - grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Macedonia Baptist Church with the Revs. Malachi Reed, Curtis Frost and Royce Kinsey officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Macedonia Cemetery under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family will be at 1924 Forrest, Texarkana, Ark.

Memorials may be made to Macedonia Baptist Church, Route 2 Box 208 A, Fouke, Ark., 71837.

CHESTER BRZESKI JR.

PRESCOTT, Ark. - Chester Martin Brzeski Jr., 61, died March 20, 2004, in a Little Rock hospital.

Mr. Brzeski was born Aug. 22, 1942, in South Bend, Ind. He was a retired welder for Potlach Corp. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Angel Jacob.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Ann Brzeski of Prescott; one daughter and son - in - law, Diane and Ricky Lacefield of Queen City, Texas; two sons and daughters - in - law, Dean and Brandy Brzeski and Jerry and Diana Brzeski of Sulpher Springs, Texas; four brothers, Hugh McCoy of Benton, Ark., Kenneth Brzeski and Robert Brzeski of Prescott and John Brzeski of Sulpher Springs; and four grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Neil Ridling and Jeremy Franklin officiating. Burial will be in Sweet Home Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

WILLIAM BUTLER JR.

ASHDOWN, Ark. - William J. Butler, 66, of Ashdown died Monday, March 22, 2004, at his home.

Arrangements are pending with Madden Funeral Home.

MARY DAVIS

Mary Ellen Davis, 74, of Texarkana, Ark., died Wednesday, March 17, 2004, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Davis was born Dec. 7, 1929, in Lewisville, Ark. She was retired from Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant and a member of St. James Baptist Church and the Missionetts Choir.

Survivors include her husband, Benjamin Davis Jr. of Texarkana; two sons Benjamin C. Davis and Rodney Davis of Texarkana; five daughters, Linden Adams of Colorado Springs, Colo., Wanda Melton of Arlington, Texas, Deborah Mack and LaDoris Smith of Texarkana and Nikeba Davis of Little Rock; 21 grandchildren and four great - grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lonoke Baptist Church with the Rev. L.D. Jordan officiating. Burial will be in East Memorial Gardens under direction of Richardson Hill Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

FLOY GOODWIN

STAMPS, Ark. - Floy Fae Goodwin, 83, of Willisville, Ark., died Sunday, March 21, 004, in a Hope, Ark., hospital.

Mrs. Goodwin was a member of White's Chapel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by one son, Jacky Goodwin, in 1971.

Survivors include her husband, Garland Goodwin of Willisville; two daughters and sons - in - law, Kay and Gaylon Waters and Peggy and Paul Bailey of Willisville; one brother, Tillman Hairston of Baytown, Texas, and Betty Green of Ashdown, Ark.; six grandchildren, nine great - grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at White's Chapel Baptist Church with Wayne Langston and Daniel Williams officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery under direction of Smith Funeral Home.

GLADYS GOLDEN

MURFREESBORO, Ark. - Gladys Mae Golden, 85, of Murfreesboro died Monday, March 22, 2004, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Golden was born July 31, 1918, in Athens, Ark. She was former owner of Golden's Grocery and Station in Athens and a member of Murfreesboro Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Kelly Golden of Murfreesboro; two sons and one daughter - in - law, Darrell Golden and Royce and Mary Lou Golden of Mufreesboro; two daughters and one son - in - law, Linda Golden of Murfreesboro and Patricia and Kenneth Maxwell of Benton, Ark.; and four grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today in Athens Cemetery with Tommy Mounts officiating. Burial will be under direction of Latimer Funeral Home.

CHARLES HUDSON

LITTLE ROCK - Charles Rayford Hudson, 85, of Little Rock died Monday, March 22, 2004, in a local hospital.

Mr. Hudson was born Dec. 15, 1918, in Haynesville, La. He was a retired land surveyor with the State of Arkansas, former employee of Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honorary Society, XI Sigma Pi National Forestry Society, Retired Officers Association and National Society of Scabbard and Blade and an Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Glenna Coleman Hudson; three daughters, Rebecca Harris of Florida, Celeste O'Neal of Little Rock and Cathey McKinney of Fayetteville; three sons, Ray Hudson of Little Rock, Frank B. Coleman of Texarkana and Shelby Coleman of Baton Rouge, La.; nine grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Jim Lagrone officiating. Graveside services will be 4 p.m. in Wilson Cemetery, Lewisville, Ark., with the Rev. Russell Bailey officiating.

HOPE, Ark. - Pearl E. Mathis, 71, of Emmet, Ark., died Monday, March 22, 2004, in a local hospital.
