Andrea Nicole Fancher
Andrea Nicole Fancher, 19, of Kingston died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kan., from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was a student at the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville where she was a member of the Lady Eagles basketball team.
She was born at Huntsville, member of Calvary Baptist Church in Huntsville, a 2003 graduate of Kingston High School where she received the geometry, American history, trigonometry and algebra II awards and was a member of the FCCLA and FBL for four years, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Science Club for three years and had served on the student council. She was captain of the junior high basketball team in the ninth grade and was named MVP, all-tournament, all-conference, and an all-state candidate in the 10th and 11th grades and was MVP, all-conference, all-district, and all-state in the 12th grade. She was the recipient of the National Honor Roll award and was listed in sy0cf1Who's Who Among American High School Students sy0cf1for four years. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Gregory Lyn Boyd in 2000.
Survivors include her father, Stillman Leon Fancher of Kingston; mother, Angela Kay Boyd of Kingston; one brother, Cameron Blake Fancher of Kingston; paternal grandmother, Ines Melinda Fancher of Dry Fork; maternal grandfather, John James Mitchell of Berryville; and fiance, Garrett Jason Matlock of Kingston.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home in Huntsville with Rev. Roy I. Cain officiating. Interment will be in the Liberty Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Jarred Head, Jeff Anderson, Monty Hoskins, Justin Matlock, Coach Greg Poole and Coach Greg McCone.
Honorary pallbearers will be Heath Marshall, Travis Bancroft, Lyndell Thompson, C. J. Bellinger, Ronnie Burcham, John Henry Holt, David Summerall, Kyle Bohannon, Cliff Fancher, Sam Davidson, Shawn Poole and Travis Huber.

Danielle Rae Hunter
Danielle Rae Hunter, 14, of Ozark died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, at Mercy Hospital/Turner Memorial in Ozark from injuries sustained following a two-vehicle accident on Highway 23 south when she was thrown from the bed of a pickup.
She was a native of Pine Bluff, student at Ozark Junior High School and a member of Altus Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include her parents, Danny and Tammy Hall Hunter of Ozark; one sister, Amber Hunter of the home; two brothers, Danny Hunter Jr. and Tyler Hunter, both of the home; maternal grandparents, Sandra and Dennis Ashby of Lamar; paternal grandparents, Dean and Mary Hunter of Hartman; and great-grandmother, Wilma Lambert of Pine Bluff.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with Rev. Sammy Alverson officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery
at Ozark.
Pallbearers were Roger Walker, Keith Lambert, Richard Lambert, Henry Spencer, T. J. Wood, Bill Lambert and David Cliff.
Lisa R. Tollison
Lisa Renee Tollison, 27, of Clarksville died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle accident on County Road 3348.
She was a Pentecostal and preceded in death by one sister, Lori Ann Gray.
Survivors include her husband, Jesse Tollison; one daughter, Britney Hogeland of Clarksville; four sons, Kyle Hogeland, Taylor Tollison, Payton Tollison, and Terry Tollison, all of Clarksville; parents, Jesse Wilson and Darlene Gray of Clarksville; three sisters, Rachel Schneider and Tina Gray of Clarksville, and Valerie Day of Lamar; and four brothers, Jesse Vance Gray, Falon Gray, and Billy Gray, all of Clarksville, and Mace Gray of Ozark.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Don Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Holman Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Vance Gray, Falon Gray, Bill Schneider, Mace Gray, Billy Jack Gray, and Shea Duffel.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Larry Neal Varnell
Larry Neal Varnell, 59, of Paris died Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Subiaco, son of the late Lee and Nettie Moore Varnell, used car salesman, and had worked at a cotton gin in England, Collinwood Grain Company in Kansas, and Chicago Bridge and Iron Company where he painted water towers. He was preceded in death by six brothers, William, Russell, Bobby, Leonard, Billie and Jerry Varnell, and one grandson, Everett Lee Varnell.
Survivors include his widow, Donna Rutherford Varnell; two daughters, Regina Trask of Eagle Grove, Iowa, and Amanda Smith of Fort Dodge, Iowa; two sons, Ray Neal Varnell of Midway and Josh Edward Varnell of Dardanelle; three brothers, Curtis Varnell, Darrel Varnell and Danny Varnell, all of Midway; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, at Midway Assembly of God Church with Rev. C. L. Haston and Rev. James Hice officiating.
Burial was in Hickory Grove Cemetery
at Midway under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Troy Fondren, Hershal Hice, Jose Garza, John Holman, Steve Watson, Sidney Pilgreen, Ronnie Sanders, and Roger Caldwell.

Mary Ann Ledbetter
Mary Ann Ledbetter, 66, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, in Tulsa, Okla.
She was a daughter of the late Eldon and Mildred Pitts of Clarksville, 1955 graduate of Clarksville High School, former member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Clarksville, former child care worker at LaPetite Academy in Tulsa, Okla., and an institutional cook at Oklahoma Osteopathic Hospital in Tulsa, Okla., and Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Donna and Faye Ellen.
She is survived by two children, Joe Williams of Utah and Polly Van Fleet of Glenpool, Okla.; one brother, Dane Pitts of Hartman; and four grandchildren, Marcus Perry and Nicholas Perry, both of Tulsa, Okla., Courtney Perry and Rachel Van Fleet of Glenpool, Okla.
Funeral was Monday, Aug. 9, at the Green Hill Funeral Home in Sapulpa, Okla.
Anna Jane Pitts
Anna Jane Pitts, 83, of San Saba, Texas died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, in San Angelo, Texas.
A native of Clarksville, she was a daughter of the late William McKinley and Julia Howard Gibson, widow of Harley Vernon Pitts, member of the First Baptist Church in San Saba, Texas, and was preceded in death by two sisters.
She is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law, Toy Harley Pitts of San Saba, Texas, Vernon Carl and Judy Pitts of Springtown, Texas, Allen Kay and Mary Pitts of Amarillo, Texas, and Darel Glen Pitts of Springtown, Texas; one daughter, Linda Ann Workman of San Saba, Texas; six grandchildren and spouses, Carla and Tim Richardson, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Carl (Lisa) Pitts Jr., Matthew David Workman, Kristen Ann and Michael Nelson, Charles Glen and Brandy Pitts, and Miles Clay Pitts; eight great-grandchildren, Deven, Lauren, Taylor, Harley, Chanae, Railey, Jackson and Jaela; one brother and sister-in-law, Floyd and Margie Gibson of St. Augustine, Fla.; one sister, Edna Davis of Clarksville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, at Howell-Doran Funeral Home in San Saba, Texas, with burial in Holt Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Carl Pitts Jr., Matthew Workman, Charlie Pitts, Clay Pitts, Michael Nelson and Tim Richardson.

Bonnie Mae Hefley
Bonnie Mae Hefley, 89, of Russellville, grandmother of James Daniel Hefley of Knoxville, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004, at Stella Manor Nursing Home in Russellville.
She was a native of Russellville, daughter of the late William and Dora Dollar Bramlett, widow of Devoe Ernest Hefley, Pentecostal, and was preceded in death by one son, Hulen E. Hefley; two brothers, Burl and Roy Bramlett; and three sisters, Flonnie Lyle, Connie Roberts and Neomia Putman.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Alberta Hefley of London; nine other grandchildren, Debbie Hefley Meyer of Dover, Carmen Hefley of Springfield, Mo., Skip Hefley and Willie Hefley, both of St. Louis, Mo., Shirley Mae Cahill of Dixon, Tenn., Dale Meyer of Dover, Donna Gardner of Baldwin, Kan., Vaughn E. Hefley of Independence, Mo., and James M. Hefley Jr of Kansas City, Mo.; 19 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and one brother and sister-in-law, Bobby Lee and Georgia Bramlett of Sun City, Ariz.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial was in Tarlton Cemetery
at Lurton under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service of Russellville.
Earl E. Gifford
Earl Ernest Gifford, 84, of Lodi, Calif., died Friday, Sept. 3, 2004, at his home.
He was a native of Russellville, former resident of the Spadra Community in Johnson County, high school graduate, served in the U. S. Navy during World War II after which he resided in Richmond, Calif., where he was employed by Standard Oil and Company as a supervisor for 35 years, and was a member of the Richmond Rod & Gun Club.
Survivors include two sons, Ken Gifford of Acampo, Calif., and Dan Gifford of Lodi, Calif.; two grandchildren, Verna Jane Gifford and Pamela Light; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Joyce Morrison of Folsom, Calif.
Private services were held with burial in Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi, Calif.
Harry Hoffman
Harry Jack Hoffman, 83, of Clarksville died Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, at his home.
He was a retired telephone company employee, Army veteran, and son of the late Allen and Edith Anderson Hoffman.
Survivors include his widow, Alice Mae Rose Hoffman; two daughters and one son-in-law, Jackie and Mark Nowotny and Linda Hoffman, all of Clarksville; two grandchildren, Alicia Nowotny and Jake Nowotny of Clarksville; and one sister, Diane McAlister of Russellville.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Michael Sawyer and Rev. Glenn Newton officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tommy Hale, Dennis Brearley, Harold Edgell, Walter Nowotny, Jack Heil, and Ken Johnston.
Joyce C. McSwain
Joyce C. McSwain, 83, of Rio Rancho, N. M., died Friday, Aug. 27, 2004.
She was a daughter of the late Steven Kelly and Buela Castleberry, graduate of Texas Women's University in Denton, Texas, member of the Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church, and was preceded in death by four brother.
