Lana F. Maynard

Lana Fay Maynard, 41, of Altus, mother of Ashley Milholland of Hartman, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004.

She was a native of Rogers, daughter of the late J. C. and Peggy Kendrick Maynard, and attended the Church of the Nazarene in Altus.

Other survivors include one son, Chris English of Altus; four sisters, her twin, Lisa Davison of Fayetteville, Ruby Dixon and Shirley Smith, both of Ozark, and Becky Boswell of Altus; one brother, James Kendrick of Ozark; and two grandchildren, Nicholas and Makayla Milholland.

Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, at Liberty Cemetery with Rev. James Kendrick officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.

Thomas M. Harrington

Thomas Michael Harrington, 56, of Maynard, brother of Dianna Holstead and Jane Tumbleson of Clarksville, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

He was a native of Bassett and son of the late Laverne Harrington.

Survivors include his father, Mack Harrington of Maynard; three brothers, Timothy Harrington of Hoxie, and Ronald Harrington and Donald Harrington, both of Jonesboro; and two other sisters, Terry Wood of Pine Bluff and Cathy Stephens of Jonesboro.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, in the chapel of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home followed by a private burial.

Memorials may be made to St. Francis Regional Medical Center Neurosurgery Department.

Wilburn Hendrix

Wilburn Hendrix, 81, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

He was a native of Hunt, son of the later Walter and Viola Deathridge Hendrix, member of First Baptist Church and had served as a church usher for 53 years, Army veteran of World War II, former co-owner of Tipton-Hendrix Garage and Wrecker Service, retired cattle farmer, former policeman for the city of Clarksville, and retired member and former chief of the Clarksville Fire Department.

Survivors include his widow, Georgia Little Hendrix; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Johnny and Janey Little of Hunt and Wayne and Bonnie Pyron of Clarksville; and a special friend and wife, Leon and Joyce Strope of Fayetteville.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, at First Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Brown officiating.

Burial was in Liberty Hill Cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers were Donald Meek, Carl Kirshberger, Charles Over, Jesse Donaldson, James Richardson, and Steve Atkinson.

Honorary pallbearers were members and retired members of the Clarksville Fire Department.

Bertha Mae Felkins

Bertha Mae Felkins, 78, of Lodi, Calif., died Friday, Oct. 1, 2004, at her home.

She was a native of Hartman, grew up in the Goose Camp Community, former resident of Clarksville, Connecticut, and San Bernardino, Calif., employee of Safeway Stores in Lodi, Calif., and served as secretary for the Retail Clerk's Union for several years prior to retiring in 1973, member of Century Assembly for approximately 30 years and the Women's Ministries of the church, and a seamstress.

She was preceded in death by one son, Steve Felkins; three brothers, Lawrence Shoeffler, Milburn Shoeffler and Joseph F. Shoeffler; one sister, Agnes Guthrie; and two brothers-in-law, Ben Robertson and Homer McCleary.

Survivors include her husband, William Lee Felkins; one daughter, Delores Haze of Lodi, Calif.; one son and spouse, Donald and Melva Felkins of Lodi, Calif.; two daughters-in-law, Jeanette Felkins of Lodi, Calif., and Linda Lake of Boise, Idaho; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Harold L. and Elaine Shoeffler of Stockton, Calif.; and two sisters, Ruby A. McCleary and Melba Robertson of Manteca, Calif.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, at Century Assembly with Dale Edwards and Harold Duncan, pastors, officiating.

Burial will be in Cherokee Memorial Park under the direction of Lodi Funeral Home, Inc.

Eleonora Thompson

Eleonora M. Thompson, 102, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2004, at her home.

She was a native of Fort Smith, daughter of the late Emil and Martha Kauffeld Steuber, widow of Jess W. Thompson, member of Second Baptist Church, graduate of Draughn's School of Business in Fort Smith, former employee of Stewart-Donnell and Stewart Sheppard dress shops for several years, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Dorothy T. Edwards, and one grandson, Brian Thompson.

Survivors include three daughters, Mary Henderson of Rogers, Anna Brewer of Tulsa, Okla., and Barbara Wilson of Clarksville; two sons, Jess Thompson Jr. of Clarksville and Raymond Thompson of Whispering Pines, N. C.; one half-sister, Mary Talmadge of South Hampton, N. Y.; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Sammie Brown officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jack Cecil, Hank Sparks, Jack West, Carl Kirshberger, Virgil Knight, and Jim Dickerson.

Josee Toth

Josee Toth, 77, of Las Vegas, Nev., died Friday, Oct. 1, 2004, at Desert Springs Hospital.

She was a native of Belgium, former resident of Clarksville and Johnson County, and a retired bookkeeper and accounting employee.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Heather Toth of Las Vegas, Nev.; two granddaughters, Karlee of Phoenix, Ariz., and Hannah of Las Vegas, Nev.; and two grandsons, Sean and Seth, both of Las Vegas, Nev.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, at Palm Mortuary Eastern in Las Vegas, Nev.

Oda Monroe Edwards

Oda Monroe Edwards, 86, of Mayflower died Monday, Sept. 27, 2004.

A native of Clarksville, he was a son of the late Sid and Beulah Frost Edwards, farmer, truck driver, veteran of World War II having served four years and six months as a tech sergeant and cook in the South Pacific, and was preceded in death by one sister, Inez Padgett Jobe, and four infant siblings.

Survivors include his widow, Modine Troutman Edwards; one son, Charles R. Edwards of Mayflower; one granddaughter and spouse, Melanie and Troy Loftin of Texarkana, Texas; two great-granddaughters; one brother, Fay Edwards of Mayflower; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral was at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, at Roller-McNutt Chapel in Conway with Rev. Leon Troutman officiating. Burial was in Mayflower Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Mike Troutman, Don Meeks, Clyde Troutman, Chad Edwards, Chris Edwards, Dylan Troutman, and John Berry.

Champ Carlisle Jr.

Champ Vernon Carlisle Jr., 67, of Ozark, formerly of Clarksville, died Monday, Oct. 11, 2004, at Mercy Hospital/Turner Memorial in Ozark.

He was a native of Ozark, son of the late Champ Vernon and Joe-Abegail Parker Carlisle, retired tire salesman, Army veteran, and member of Coal Hill VFW.

Survivors include his wife, Colleen Carlisle; two daughters, Tracy Davies of Tulsa, Okla., and KaLynn Showalter of Independence, Kan.; two sons, Champ Carlisle III of Tooele, Utah, and Scott Carlisle of Tulsa, Okla.; five sisters, Jane Madayag of Eugene, Ore., Sue Enriques of Broken Arrow, Okla., Nancy Mason of Little Rock, Judy Martin of Longmont, Colo., and Virginia Dawson of Pawhuska, Okla.; two brothers, Len Carlisle of Tulsa, Okla., and Danny Joe Carlisle of Sand Springs, Okla.; and six grandchildren.

Memorial services were held at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, at the family home south of Ozark with arrangements under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.

Della P. Harvey

Della Park Harvey, 81, of Clarksville died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

She was a native of Fort Douglas, daughter of the late Charlie Newton and Inez Horner Park, and member of Trinity Chapel Church.

Survivors include her husband, John Harvey; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jim D. and Carolyn Harvey of Clarksville, Gary L. and Susan Harvey of Spring Hill, Kan., and Randy C. Harvey of Tulsa, Okla.; one brother and sister-in-law, Loy and Verladean Park of Clarksville; three grandchildren, Sheila Bjorkman of Greeley, Colo., Steven Harvey of Greenwood, and Gary Keith Harvey of Chicago, Ill.; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, at Trinity Chapel Church with Rev. Terry Schlinker and Rev. Bob Freeman officiating.

Burial was in Shady Grove Cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers were Mike Buckner, Frank Patton, Wendell Self, Larry Harvey, Rick Harvey, and Doug Harvey.

Honorary pallbearers were Tom Patton, Virgil Blake, Raymond Hudson, Marvin Walker, and Gary Johnson.
