Eva Daphene Holder

JONESBORO -- Eva Daphene Holder, 84, of Jonesboro died Saturday, May 13, 2006, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro.

She was born in Pocahontas and had lived in Jonesboro for three years. She was a member of the Valley View Church of Christ and a retired lunch room supervisor for Pocahontas High School.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Thomas and Birdie Brown Simpson; an infant daughter, Alma Louise Holder; two brothers, Woodrow Simpson and Leon Simpson; and a sister, Ruth Gullett.

Survivors include her husband, Louie Holder of the home; a son, Gail and daughter-in-law Brenda Holder of Jonesboro; a daughter, Daphene and son-in-law John Heern of Jonesboro; three brothers, Rufus Simpson, Edgar Simpson and J.A. Simpson, all of Pocahontas; a sister, Marie Murphy of Pocahontas; six grandchildren, Julie and her husband James Adkins, Jeremy and his wife Kasey Holder, Emily and her husband Nick Devereux, Courtney and her husband Justin Batten, Johnna Heern and Clay Heern; and four great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Molly, Avery Adkins and Keaton Holder.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Emerson Memorial Chapel with David Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, nephews, and men of the Valley View Church of Christ.

The family asked that lasting memorial be made to the Valley View Church of Christ building fund.

Iva Hutchins

CHICO, Calif. -- Mrs. Iva Hutchins of Chico, Calif., formerly of the Monette area, died Sunday, May 14, at Twin Oaks Health and Rehab.

Arrangements are incomplete and have been entrusted to Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Opal Alice Kirby McAnally

JONESBORO -- Opal Alice Kirby McAnally, 85, of Jonesboro, died Saturday morning at her home of natural causes.

Born in Manila, Mrs. McAnally lived several years in Etowah before moving to Jonesboro 40 years ago.

She was a homemaker and a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Jonesboro.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Kirby; three brothers; and a sister.

Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Wise of Jonesboro and Mary Fletcher of Caraway; a sister, Emma Harris of Russellville; three grandchildren, Cindy Wortham of Springfield, Mo., Rhonda Sneed of Greers Ferry and Samantha Hale of Caraway; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson, Cooper Don Gibson.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. today at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Danny Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Nettleton Cemetery.

Visitation was held Sunday evening from 5-8 at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.

Sharon Inez Nanney

BONO -- Sharon Inez Nanney, 53, of Bono died Sunday morning at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born in Bonne Terre, Mo., Mrs. Nanney lived much of her life in Jonesboro before moving to Bono six years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses.

She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Stringer.

Survivors include her mother, Lucille Bice of Hardy; four daughters, Tivy Combs of Heber Springs, Tabitha Harris of Bonne Terre and Kizzie Huddle and Telley Combs, both of Bono; a son, Michael Huddle of Bono; two sisters, June Labee of Little Rock and Tammy Twomey of Hardy; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services and burial will be private. There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that consideration be given to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105, or to Arkansas Children's Hospital, 800 Marshall St., Little Rock 72202.

Tyresse Bradley

TRUMANN -- Tyresse Bradley was born and died on Monday, May 15, 2006, in NEA Medical Center at Jonesboro. He is the son of Robin Christine Ingram and Terry Bradley Jr.

In addition to his parents, Tyresse is survived by his paternal grandparents, Terry and Bobbie Bradley of Trumann; maternal grandmother, Roberta Rogers of Trumann; maternal great-grandfather, Robert Loggins of Trumann; paternal great-grandmother, Bessie Lee Smith of Marked Tree; and paternal great-great-grandmother, Rosie Bradley of Marked Tree.

Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. today in the Pine Hill Cemetery of Jonesboro with the Rev. Kenny Guy McMahan officiating.

Active pallbearers will by Tony Postell and Jeff Miles Jr.

Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann is in charge of arrangements.

Garon L. Crafton

CAVE CITY -- Garon L. Crafton, 84, of Cave City died Monday, May 15, 2006, in the Cave City Nursing Home. He was born Dec. 17, 1921, at Strawberry to Elvie and Effie Sneed Crafton.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in the First Free Will Baptist Church at Cave City with Jeff Holland and Hoover Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Ward Cemetery at Strawberry with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Jackie Dulaney

BONO -- Jackie Dulaney, 63, died Sunday in St. Bernard's Medical Center. He was a lifetime resident of Lawrence County and was a retired self-employed truck driver and construction worker.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mozelle; his father, Anderson "Jack" Dulaney; one daughter, Debbie; one son, Allen; and one granddaughter, Mecca Dulaney.

He is survived by his mother, Juanita Dulaney of Bono; four sons, Dale Dulaney of Bono, Mark Dulaney of Jonesboro, Gerald Dulaney of Nashville, Tenn., and Greg Dulaney of Cash; one brother, Larry Dulaney of Minturn; and wife, Linda Ellison Dulaney of the home. Twelve grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. today in House-Gregg Funeral Chapel at Walnut Ridge with Byron Griffey officiating. Burial will follow in Trinity Cemetery at Bono.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Whitmire, Danny Freer, Lewis Staarns, Jake Barnes, Ronnie Gurly and Alvin Petro. Honorary pallbearers will be Daley Hibbard, Rick Thomas, Dale Brown and Gene Sublett.

Chloe Laverne Garner

GOSNELL -- Chloe Laverne Garner, 94, of Gosnell, formerly of Manila, died Monday in the Gosnell Nursing Home. Born at Elizabeth, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Roxie Bedwell Scott and had been a longtime Manila resident before making her home in the Blytheville area in 1974 and was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Manila.

She is survived by three sons, Carl Garner and wife Mary Elizabeth of St. Charles, Mo., John Garner and wife Janette of Greenville, Miss., and David Garner and wife Beverly Dawn of Blytheville; and nine grandchildren, Carlton, Allen Garner, Amy Garner Lade, Ron Walton, Marty Gardner, Rusty Gardner, David Alan Garner Jr., Jennifer Garner Calvert, Jessica Ann Yates and Adam Johnson Yates. She also leaves 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the Howard Funeral Chapel in Manila. Burial will follow in the Manila Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Carl Allen Garner, David Alan Garner Jr., Adam Johnson Yates, Amy Garner Lade, Jennifer Garner Calvert, and Jessica Ann Yates.

The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Paul 'Leon' Gipson Jr.

BLACK OAK -- Paul "Leon" Gipson Jr., 64, of Black Oak died Monday, May 15, 2006.

Leon grew up in the Oak Grove Community and graduated from Valley View High School in 1961.

He has owned and operated Gipson Well Co., an irrigation water-well and pump business, since 1971. In 1991, they moved the business to Monette.

They reside in Black Oak and are members of Monette First Baptist Church. Leon sang and played the guitar most of his life, with other members of the family, known as "The Gipsons."

He was very devoted to his family. Family meant the utmost to him; Leon was a true and trusted friend to all who knew him. He served in the Arkansas National Guard and was a 32nd degree Mason.

He leaves his wife, Linda Bennett Gipson, of 42 years.; three children; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Troy and Julie Gipson and Dave Gipson, all of Jonesboro, and one daughter, Tina Gipson of Black Oak; eight grandchildren, Brent Gipson, Blaine Gipson, Mallory Gipson, Josh Gipson, Noah Walker, all of Jonesboro, Ariel Carroll, and Allana Carroll, of Black Oak, and Audrey Parrish of Marmaduke; five brothers, Larry Gipson, Jimmy Gipson, Gary Gipson, Jerry Gipson and Mark Gipson; and three sisters, Betty White, Patricia Agee and Karen Woodruff, all of Jonesboro.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Bessie Gipson; one brother, Bob Gipson; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, A. D. and Orean Bennett.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Emerson Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Captain Lovell and Bob Blankenship officiating and burial in Philadelphia Cemetery.

Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers are Jeremy White, Jim May, Jon Jones, Brent Gipson, Mark Gipson and Tracy Bolden. Honorary pallbearers are Hershel Caples, Vance Cook, Ron Jones, Stan Dodson, Bill Gallion, Paul McMorris, Steve Youngstrom, Dave Youngstrom, Charlie Agee, Kevin McComas and Bill Carle.

For those wishing to leave lasting memorials, the family request consideration of the Monette First Baptist Church Family Life Center.

Visitation will be from 5--7 p.m. today in Emerson Funeral Home.

Leo Jackson Hardin

PARAGOULD -- Leo Jackson Hardin, 90, of Paragould died Sunday, May 14, 2006, in Arkansas Methodist Medical Center.

Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Davis of Sacramento, Calif.; one brother, Bill Hardin, and one sister, Helen Bowen, both of California. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Kimberly Davis, Steve Davis, Mark Sharrock and Terri Owinyo; and by six great-grandchildren, Miles Davis Henkel, Ellie Davis, Jason Sharrock, and Christa, Taryn and Brandon Gugel.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, S. Ellen Hopper Hardin; and by one daughter, Jackie Sharrock.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today in Mitchell Funeral Home at Paragould.

The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, graveside in Shiloh Cemetery. The procession will leave Mitchell Funeral Home at 1:45 p.m. Thursday.
