Angela Marie Burnside

HOXIE -- Angela Marie Burnside, 39, of Hoxie died Monday.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Rosary at 7 p.m.

Bryan Funeral Home of Hoxie is in charge of arrangements.

Pauline Daniels

BLYTHEVILLE -- Mrs. Pauline Daniels, 87, of Blytheville, the widow of Clyde Daniels, died Monday, July 3, 2006, in the Great River Medical Center at Blytheville. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

She leaves her children, James Daniels and his wife Tina of Holland, Mo., Georgia Hendrix of Blytheville and Lewis Daniels and his wife Cathy of Armorel; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. today in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel at Blytheville with burial following in Dogwood Cemetery.

Thomas Jesse Delk

JONESBORO -- Thomas Jesse Delk, 69, of Jonesboro died Tuesday, July 4, 2006, at his residence.

Born at Harrison, he lived most of his life in Jonesboro. He retired as a welder at Jonesboro Concrete Pipe Company after 29 years and was a member of Nettleton Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Delk of the home; sons, Richard Delk of Camanche, Iowa, and Michael Delk of Jonesboro; daughter, Bonny Delk of Clinton; four stepsons, Steve Holt and Charles Smith, both of Jonesboro, Floyd Smith of Whitehouse, Texas, and Richard Rowland of Fort Smith; one stepdaughter, Shelia Fore of Harrisburg; two brothers, J.C. Delk of Lead Hill and T.G. Delk of Nocona, Texas; three sisters, Jorene Harrell of Jonesboro, Shirley Bell of Omaha and Rosetta Newland of Kenwick, Wash.; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lena Mae Delk; parents, Sparlin G. and Oma Frances Ramsey Delk; and seven brothers and sisters.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Stan Ballard officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today in Gregg Funeral Home at Jonesboro.

Memorials may be sent to Nettleton Baptist Church, Celebrate Recovery Program, 2111 Thorn St., Jonesboro 72401.

Opal Goggins

JONESBORO -- Opal Goggins, 81, of Jonesboro died Wednesday, July 5, 2006, in St. Bernard's Medical Center.

Born at Wister, Okla., she lived in Jonesboro most of her life and was a homemaker. She was Native American Indian and was a member of Revival Tabernacle Church.

Survivors include her husband, John T. Goggins of the home; three sons, Donald, Richard and Larry Goggins, all of Jonesboro; one daughter, Ann Freeman of Jonesboro; three brothers, Debert Brown of Paragould, Kenneth Brown of Rochelle, Ill., and Ronnie Brown of Oklahoma; two sisters, Ellen Smith of Paragould and Nadine Long of Little Rock; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Active pallbearers are Jay Jones, Chris Rousey and Roy Hudson.

Graveside services and burial will be 3 p.m. Friday in Pine Log Cemetery with William "Dub" Holt officiating.

J. Paul Heard

NEWPORT -- Mr. J. Paul Heard, 88, of Newport died Monday.

Mr. Heard was the owner of Paul's Dixie Queen and later was the Newport city clerk and Municipal Court clerk until his retirement.

He was an honorably discharged World War II veteran, having served in France and Germany in Gen. George Patton's Third Armored Division.

Mr. Heard was awarded five Bronze Stars and was called back into duty in 1948.

Mr. Heard was a devoted and lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church of Newport, having served as both deacon and elder, as well as serving on various other committees throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by one son, John P. Heard Jr.; and two brothers, Walter Heard Jr. and George Heard.

Mr. Heard is survived by his wife, Jimmie Carpenter Heard; one son, James R. "Bob" Heard and wife, Susan, of Sherwood; one brother, William Heard of Sherwood; three grandsons, Jefferson, Joseph and John Michael; one granddaughter, April; and one great-grandson, Isaac.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday in First Presbyterian Church at Newport.

Interment will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.

Arrangements by Jackson's Newport Funeral Home.

Richard Franklin Huffman

CASH -- Richard Franklin Huffman, 84, died Wednesday in Woodbriar Nursing Home at Harrisburg. He was a retired farmer and was of the Baptist belief.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Sisco Huffman, a daughter, three brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by a son, Rick Huffman of Harrisburg; daughters, Ozella Williams and Florine Renck of Jonesboro; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday in House-Gregg Funeral Home Chapel at Walnut Ridge with Butch Parks officiating.

Burial will follow in Moore Cemetery at Stanford under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Arkansas Children's Hospital.

Renee Jackson

JONESBORO -- Renee Jackson, 62, of Jonesboro, formerly of Hoxie, died in her residence on Monday, July 3, 2006. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Dillard of Long Beach, Calif., and Robert McCall of Hoxie; her mother, Evelyn James-Skeen of Jonesboro; and a brother, Julian James of Jonesboro.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Alma Mae Jones

JONESBORO -- Alma Mae Jones, 71, of Jonesboro died Monday, July 3, 2006, in her residence.

Born at Cave City, she lived in Des Arc before moving to Jonesboro. She was a member of Apple Hill Church of Christ, was a homemaker and had worked at Jimco Lamp Co.

She is survived by four sons, Elvis Ray Jones, Garland Doyle Jones, Jerry Raymond Jones and Tim R. Jones, all

of Jonesboro; two brothers, William Shirley of Heber Springs and O'Neal Shirley of Converse, Ind.; four sisters, Willene Kusler of Griffethville, Bertha Buffyton of Cabot, Dorotha Bone and Joyce Taylor, both of Des Arc; 18 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Audie and Maxie Shirley; a son, Ed Jones; a daughter, Delana Janie Hill; a great-grandson, Tyler Campbell; two great-granddaughters, Bailey Stevenson and Delana Heikes; two sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Roller-Farmers Union Chapel with James King officiating. Burial will follow in Old Enterprise Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Jeffery Jones, Johnny Garner, Brandon Jones, Shane Crutchfield, Kyle Boyd and Henry Lee Oswald.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Margaret Kemper

BLYTHEVILLE -- Mrs. Margaret Grace Kemper, 79, of Blytheville, the widow of Alfred Kemper, died Tuesday. She was a lifelong resident of Blytheville and charter member of Trinity Baptist Church.

She leaves two sons and their families, David and Gail Kemper of Blytheville and their son Dustin Kemper; and Jeff and Judi Kemper of Columbus, Ohio, and their daughter Rebecca Kemper; and two brothers, Max Hill of Ash Flat and Jerry Hill of Jonesboro.

Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Friday in Elmwood Cemetery at Blytheville with visitation from 2-3 p.m. in Cobb Funeral Home.

Robert 'Buddy' Nichols Sr.

JONESBORO -- Robert "Buddy" Nichols Sr., 82, of Jonesboro died Wednesday, July 5, 2006, in St. Bernard's Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Gregg Funeral Home Chapel at Jonesboro with burial following in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Mary Louise Palmer

OSCEOLA -- Mary Louise Palmer, 51, of Osceola died Saturday, July 1, 2006.

She is survived by seven sons, James Cannon, Charles Palmer, Frederick Lewis, Calvin Harris, Anthony Harris, Terry Harris and Prince Gibson; five daughters, Rhonda Tyler, Pamela Whitfield, Sophie Harris, Tasha Gibson and Kalisha Gibson; three brothers; seven sisters; and 18 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Promiseland C.O.G.I.C. at Osceola with burial in Whiteside Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday in Wilson Funeral Home.
