MYRTICE SPEARS
PRESCOTT, Ark. - Myrtice M. Spears, 93, of Bellflower, Calif., died Sunday, March 7, 2004, at her home.
Mrs. Spears was born Jan. 25, 1911, in Billstown, Ark. She was a homemaker, a licensed beautician and a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Spears.
Survivors include two daughters, Betsy Sterling and Caroline Gain of Bellflower; one brother and sister - in - law, Travis and Willie Mae Delaney of Gunter, Texas; one sister, Vahnita Wilson of Magnolia, Ark.; three grandchildren; and three great - grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel with Wallace Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Sweet Home Cemetery, Blevins, Ark.
LEO EVAN
HOPE, Ark. - Leo Evan, 54, of College Park, Md., died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, in Maryland.
Sgt. Evan was born Jan. 14, 1951, in Fulton. He was an employee of College Park Police Department.
Survivors include two sons, Chauncey Walker of Little Rock and Christopher Evan of Maryland; one daughter, Kendra Evan of Maryland; his mother, Gladys Cole of Fulton; four brothers, Frankie Lee and James of Fulton, Calvin of Omaha, Neb., and Gary of San Diego; his grandmother, Dillie Cochran of Hope; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Thornton officiating. Burial will be in Memory Garden Cemetery
under direction of Hicks Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
RUTH JOHNSON
SIKESTON, Mo. - Ruth Bristow Johnson, 83, of Sikeston died Sunday, March 14, 2004, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Johnson was born May 25, 1920, in Lynn, Ark. She was retired from Brown Shoe Co. and a Methodist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Johnson, on Aug. 22, 1982; one son, Kenneth Johnson Jr., on July 13, 2000; and one granddaughter.
Survivors include one daughter and son - in - law, Deborah and Virgil Hubbard of Sikeston; two daughters - in - law, Sandy Johnson of Rolla, Mo., and Stella Brand of Sullivan, Mo.; one brother and sister - in - law, Von and Jackie DeCordova of Texarkana; one sister and brother - in - law, Pauline and Jerrell Law of Texarkana; 13 grandchildren; and seven great - grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today in Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Mo., with the Rev. Danny Kemp officiating. Burial will be under direction of Nunnelee Funeral Home.

Michael Glen Villa, 27, of Texarkana, Ark., died Friday, March 12, 2004, in a local hospital.

NICHOLAS MORENO
PRESCOTT, Ark. - Nicholas Edu Moreno, infant son of Hector Omar Moreno and Yanira Cruz Santiago of Blevins, Ark., died Sunday, March 14, 2004, in a Hope, Ark., hospital.
Other survivors include one sister, Emily Nicole Moreno of Blevins; and his grandparents, Santos Moreno of Washington, Ark., Nicolasa Escalera of Boughton, Ark., Rueben Cruz of Sullivan, Texas, and Rebecca Santiago of San Louis Potosi, Mexico.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m. today in Piney Grove Cemetery, Boughton. Burial will be under direction of Shackelford Funeral Home.
VIVIAN EVANS
HOPE, Ark. - Vivian Lorene Morton Evans, 85, of Bossier City, La., died Sunday, March 14, 2004, in Bossier City.
Mrs. Evans was born Aug. 4, 1918, in Gurdon, Ark. She was a member of Eastern Star, Hebron Shrine and Heritage Baptist Church, Bossier City. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Cecil Evans.
Survivors include five nephews and three nieces - in - law, Jimmy and Susan Johnson of El Dorado, Ark., Billy and Linda Johnson of Malvern, Ark., Ronnie Fredericks of West Monroe, La., Giles and Ann Evans of Jacksonville, Fla., and Norman Evans of Florida; one niece, Jeanette Fredericks Harris of West Monroe, La.; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 1 p.m. today at Herndon Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

HOPE, Ark. - George Harris of Hope died Saturday, March 13, 2004, in a Texarkana hospital.
Mr. Harris was born in Hempstead County, Ark. He was retired from First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Rosa Harris and Earnestine "L.C." Wyatt of Hope; three nephews, James Harris of Houston, Larry Harris of Hope and David Harris of Naperville, Ill.; one niece, Janice Wyatt - Ross of Little Rock; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 11 a.m. today at Hick's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Cave Hill No. 2 Cemetery.
TRUDIE WILSON
PRESCOTT, Ark. - Trudie Girteen Wilson, 93, of Prescott died Sunday, March 14, 2004, in a Hope, Ark., hospital.
Mrs. Wilson was born May 21, 1910, in Hempstead County, Ark. She was a homemaker and preceded in death by her husband, William C. Wilson.
Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel with Jeremy Franklin officiating. Burial will be in Pinecrest Cemetery, Benton, Ark.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
JAMES McCLENDON
ASHDOWN, Ark. - James "Jim" McClendon, 74, of Ashdown died Monday, March 15, 2004, in Texarkana.
Mr. McClendon was born Jan. 9, 1930, in Horatio, Ark. He was retired from the Air Force and Dupont and a member of First Baptist Church, Wilton, Ark.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy McClendon of Ashdown; three sons, Jim McClendon and Gary McClendon of Cabot, Ark., and Bob McClendon of Raleigh, N.C.; one stepson, Bruce Clemons of Ashdown; two stepdaughters, Cecilia Abney and Tina Cox of Ashdown; one brother, Aubrey McClendon of Wilton; six grandchildren; and two great - grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Madden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Tommy Guthrie and Jackie Adams officiating. Burial will be in Ashdown Cemetery.
MARY FRONTZ
HOPE, Ark. - Mary E. Frontz, 94, of California, Mo., formerly of Hope, died Friday, March 12, 2004, in a California, Mo., hospital.
Mr. Frontz was born Feb. 6, 1910, in Hope. She was a homemaker and a member of Garrett Memorial Baptist Church, Hope. She was preceded in death by two husbands, William Sylvester Crabb in 1962 and Glendon Frontz in 1969; two sons, Sidney Lewis Crabb and Billy Crabb Jr.; and one grandson, Duane Pace, in 2002.
Survivors include one daughter, Irene Pace of California; three grandchildren; seven great - grandchildren; two great - great - grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Herndon Funeral Home Chapel with Earl Cumbie officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Shover Springs, Ark.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Evelyn Geneva Carter, 79, of Texarkana, Ark., died Saturday, March 13, 2004, at her home.
Mrs. Carter was born March 5, 1925, in Texarkana. She was a retired registered nurse and nursing home administrator and member of County Avenue Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, Ed Carter of Texarkana; four sons and two daughters - in - law, Edward and Belva Carter of Harrah, Okla., Bill and Pam Carter of Texarkana, David Carter of Siloam Springs, Ark. and John Carter of Kansas City, Mo.; two sisters and one brother - in - law, Jessie Hyatt of Willis, Texas, and Sue and Dale Jenkins of Pearland, Texas; eight grandchildren; six great - grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Texarkana Funeral home Fuqua - Everett Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Wallace Edgar officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

MURFREESBORO, Ark. - Edna Marie McBryde, 73, of Dallas died Friday, March 12, 2004, in Dallas.
Mrs. McBryde was born June 24, 1930, in Schaal, Ark. She was a former employee of Kimball High School, Dallas, and a Southern Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, James Hoyt McBryde of Dallas; one son, James Timothy McBryde of Saginaw, Texas; two daughters, Kathy Acker of Forney, Texas, and Jackie Crowder of Mesquite, Texas; her mother, Lucy Lockeby of Delight, Ark.; four sisters, Ruby Loy of Malvern, Ark., Francis Lewellan and Martha Gentry of Antoine, Ark., and Fannie Stone of Delight; and five grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Latimer Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
