Virginia Boren

BLYTHEVILLE -- Mrs. Virginia Boren, 79, of Blytheville died Saturday, July 15, at Memphis.

She was a lifelong resident of Blytheville and a member of North Tenth Street Baptist Church.

She leaves her children and their spouses, Karen and Philip Koonce of Blytheville, Sharon and Tommy Shelton of Meridian, Miss., and James "Butch" and Lana Boren Jr. of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Cobb Funeral Home at Blytheville with burial following in Dogwood Cemetery.

Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

John Robert Fisher

WYNNE -- John Robert Fisher, 54, of Wynne passed away Sunday, July 16.

Survivors are his wife, Verna Elayer Fisher, of the home; a son, Tim Sisk, and wife, Sandy, of Vanndale; a daughter, Aimee Pruitt, and husband, Eric, of Alabama; mother-in-law, Pauline Elayer of Arizona; four brothers, Sam Fisher, Roger Fisher, Harrell "Humpy" Fisher and Mike Fisher, all of Wynne; a sister, Paula Fisher of Wynne; and three grandchildren, Halson Sisk, Kelsie Ferguson and Kaylee Ferguson.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Cogbill Cemetery with Kernodle Funeral Home in charge.

Wanas 'Slim' Flanery

KNOBEL -- Wanas "Slim" Flanery, 74, died Friday near Peach Orchard.

He is survived by four sons, Dennis Flanery of Paragould, Danny Flanery of Reyno, Wayne Flanery and Kelly Flanery, both of Paragould; two daughters, Glenda Dunham of Paragould and Willa Dean Brumble of Pocahontas; three sisters, Lela Rothe of O'Kean, Marvie Dunlap of Jonesboro and Wanda Bristol of Pocahontas; and 11 grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with Bill Gray officiating.

Burial will follow in Jones Ridge Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Timothy Hollingsworth

JONESBORO -- Timothy Hollingsworth, 41, of Jonesboro died Sunday, July 16, in his residence.

He lived in Jonesboro all of his life and was employed at R&G Masonry.

He was of the Baptist belief.

He is survived by his mother, Diane Hollingsworth of Jonesboro; two daughters, Ariana Hollingsworth and Samantha Hollingsworth, both of Jonesboro; and two sisters Marcie Hollingsworth and Debbie Hollingsworth, both of Jonesboro.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Hollingsworth.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Johnson Cemetery with Bill Thornton officiating.

Edward Gerald Hyde

PARAGOULD -- Edward Gerald Hyde, 72, of Cardwell died Sunday, July 16, in Senath Nursing Home.

He was a retired carpenter.

Survivors include his wife, Zelma Hyde; his mother, Bennie Hyde; two sons, Dennis and Mark Edward Hyde; two daughters, Jerri Davidson and Tina Davidson; one brother, Dennis F. Hyde; two sisters, Joann Matthews and Brenda Sonney; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Cardwell Cemetery with Arthur Phelps officiating.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in Mitchell Funeral Home at Paragould.

Elva Priscilla Miller

JONESBORO -- Elva Priscilla Miller, 90, of Jonesboro died peacefully Sunday, July 16.

She was a retired employee of Frolic shoe factory, a homemaker and served beside her husband at numerous Baptist churches in Northeast Arkansas.

She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Cyril Miller of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Leona Miller and Curtis and Ricky Miller; three grandchildren, Mark Miller, Kevin Miller and Audra Doyle; four great-grandchildren Mallory Maddox, Madison Maddox, Montgomery Miller and Briley Miller; and two sisters, Cornelia Atkinson and Cordelia Cook.

She was preceded in death by her parents, S.L. and Gillie Cole; two sisters, Nora McCracken and Alma Crawford; and three brothers, Marvin Cole, Quillon Cole and Henry Cole.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Roller-Farmers Union Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Crabb officiating.

Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Mark Miller, Kevin Miller, James Cole, Danny Turner, Glenn Crawford and Johnie Crawford.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Albert Lee Perdue

WYNNE -- Albert Lee Perdue, 78 of Wynne died Monday, July 17, 2006, in NEA Medical Center at Jonesboro.

He was born at Lepanto and had lived at Wynne for four years, moving there from Paragould.

He was a retired welder for Chrysler.

He attended Apt Full Gospel Church and was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Delores Perdue of the home; three sons, Johnny Perdue and Ricky Lynn, both of Wynne, and Elwood Lynn of Sarasota, Fla.; a daughter, Judy Diane Lynn of Las Vegas, Nev.; a brother, Floyd Perdue of Deltona, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Vince Cimino, Ricky Lynn, Jessie Lynn, Chuck Rose, Shannon Lynn, Ashley Lynn, Ora Ann Perdue, Michaela A. Perdue and Jessie Perdue; and seven great-grandchildren, Paige, Serenity, Chance, Zack, Jazmine, Jacob and Charlie.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today in Emerson Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Lavon Thorton officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be immediately following the service, and burial will be private.

Eva Marie Rakestraw

MANILA -- Eva Marie Rakestraw, 72, of Manila died Saturday at her home.

Born in Manila, she was the daughter of the late Leonard Paul and Mattie Phillips and lived most of her life in the Blackwater community near Manila.

She was a retired telephone operator for Southwestern Bell.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Tammy Despain; and a son, Randy Rakestraw.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Kim Rakestraw of Lake City; one son-in-law, Tom Despain of Manila; one brother, Paul Phillips of Tennessee; one sister, Fannie Powell of Tennessee; and two grandchildren, Devon and Payton Brady.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Howard Funeral Service chapel at Manila with the Rev. Larry Ward officiating.

Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Aletta Robinson

CORDOVA, Tenn. -- Aletta Robinson, 57, of Cordova, Tenn., formerly of Paragould, died Sunday, July 16, 2006, in Baptist Hospital East at Memphis.

Born Aug. 10, 1948, at Paragould, she was formerly the school nurse at Oak Grove Elementary.

Mrs. Robinson was a member of Center Hill First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Glenn Robinson of Cordova, Tenn.; one son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Tonya Robinson of Paragould; one daughter and son-in-law, Brandy and Shannon West of Cordova, Tenn.; one sister, Thurma Lee Qualls of Paragould; and four grandchildren, Tyler and Caitlyn Robinson of Paragould, and Cassidy and Chloe West of Cordova.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thurman and Della Martin.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday in Center Hill First Baptist Church at Paragould.

Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Center Hill First Baptist Church under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials sent to St. Jude's Children Hospital would be appreciated.
