OSCEOLA -- Bonnie Alice Towery, 70, of Osceola died Friday, July 14, 2006, in SMC Regional Medical Center at Osceola.
Born on March 13, 1936, in Keiser to Norman Mueller and Bertha LaRue Mueller, she was a member of Luxora First Baptist Church.
She loved quilting, sewing, gardening, cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.
Visitation will be from 5-8 tonight in Roller-Swift Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Roller-Swift Chapel with burial in Mississippi County Memorial Gardens.
DeWayne Utley
JONESBORO -- DeWayne Utley, 70, of Jonesboro died Friday, July 14, 2006, in University of Arkansas of Medical Sciences Hospital at Little Rock.
Born in Rector, he had spent most of his life in Northeast Arkansas. He was a retired insurance adjuster and a U.S. Army veteran.
He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Jonesboro Masonic Lodge No. 129, where he served as past Master of the Lodge, and the N.T.H.E.C.C.
Survivors include his companion, Carol Moye of the home; three sons, Lt. Col. Michael Utley of Wynne, Scott Moye of Little Rock and Kevin Moye of Jonesboro; three daughters, Stephanie Watkins of Van Buren, Stacie Clyburn of Little Rock and Katrina Cooper of Jonesboro; one brother, Don Utley of Benton; and eight grandchildren, Jessica Utley, Madison Watkins, Riley Watkins, Mackenzie Clyburn, Gatlin Cooper, Malory Cooper, Haleigh Moye and Caroline Moye.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Florene Utley; and one brother, Ronnie Utley.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Roller-Farmers Union Chapel with Ernest Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery
at Paragould.
Pallbearers include Tommy Thorne, Dan White, Richard Gambill, Gary Tidwell, Kevin Moye, David Thorne and Gary Holland.
Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Moye, David Watkins, Gene Horton, Jonesboro Masonic Lodge No. 129 and members of N.T.H.E.C.C.
Visitation will be from 5-8 tonight in Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.

Leymon Vaughn
ASH FLAT -- Leymon Vaughn, 88, of Ash Flat died Saturday, July 16, at Fulton County Hospital in Salem.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Abney of Agnes and Charlotte Alverson of Ash Flat; one son, Larry Hardin of Cullman, Ala.; one brother, Victor Vaughn of Cherokee Village; one sister, LaVerne Benton of Jacksonville; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel in Hardy with Floyd Rikard officiating. Burial will follow in Saddle Cemetery
in Saddle.
Visitation is from 5-8 tonight at Higginbotham Chapel.
Evelyn Julia Beshiers
JONESBORO -- Evelyn Julia Beshiers, 81, of Jonesboro died Tuesday, July 18, 2006, in St. Bernard's Medical Center.
She was born at Jonesboro and lived her life in the city.
She was a member of Fisher Street Methodist Church and had worked as a cashier in the insurance industry.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Beshiers of the home; two stepsons, Jerry Beshiers and Kenny Beshiers, both of Jonesboro; stepdaughter, Tanyuai Wade of Jonesboro; and sister, Ruby Nance of Memphis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lot Savage and Nancy Ellen (Canamore) Johnston; five sisters, Mildred Johnston, Madelyn Reid, Thressie Reese, Pauline Johnston and Juanita Shelton; five brothers, Lunda Johnston, Clyde Johnston, Paul Johnston, Bob Johnston and Jerry Don Johnston; and one stepson, Tim Beshiers.
A celebration of her life will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Gregg Funeral Home Chapel at Jonesboro with the Revs. John and Patty Soward officiating.
Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Jerry Beshiers, Kenny Beshiers, Andy Wade, Carroll Wade, Brian McCoy and Bryan Johnston.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Robert Byron Blakeney
HOXIE -- Robert Byron Blakeney, left this world on July 17, 2006, due to a fatal plane accident, a week short of his 27th birthday.
He leaves behind his wife, Jordan Blair Sullivan Blakeney; his father, David Blakeney; a brother and sister-in-law, Josh and Kim Blakeney; their two children, Faith and Jazmin; and a sister Alison Blakeney, all of Hoxie.
Robert is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Pat Hicks; and great-grandmother, Freda Hicks, also of Hoxie.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Robin Hicks Blakeney; and his paternal grandparents, Byron and Norma Jean Blakeney of Poplar Bluff.
Robert attended Hoxie High School, where he was an outstanding athlete in football, basketball and track.
He graduated in 1998 and attended Black River Technical College with an ACT scholarship.
Robert graduated with his associate's degree in aircraft maintenance in May 2000.
He was manager of the Hoxie Flying Service.
He was united in marriage on Aug. 6, 2005, to Jordan Sullivan.
Robert will be missed by many relatives, friends and faithful canine companion, Belle.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Blakeney-Hicks Scholarship Fund at Hoxie High School.

PARAGOULD -- Dallas Croft, 93, a retired carpenter and World War II Army veteran, of Paragould died Sunday.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Gerald James officiating.
Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in Mitchell Funeral Home.

JONESBORO -- The Rev. Melton E. DeFries, 69, of Jonesboro died Tuesday morning.

POCAHONTAS -- Justin Edward Hammock, 19, died Sunday at Memphis.
He is survived by his father, Ed Hammock of Battle Creek, Mich.; his mother, Rhonda Callan of Pocahontas; paternal grandmother, Tamara Hammock; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Fahling; and one maternal great-grandmother, Virginia Wilson, all of Battle Creek, Mich.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with Matt Weaver officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens at Battle Creek.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today in the funeral home.

POCAHONTAS -- Ronald William Ritzert, 66, died July 8, 2006.
He is survived by his wife, Robin; four sons, Scott Ritzert of Woodstock, Ill., Richard Ritzert of Joliet, Ill., A.J. Campbell of Walnut Ridge and Waylon Ritzert of Salem; three daughters, Lynn Ritzert of Kress, Texas, Shayla Campbell of Jonesboro and Dakota Ritzert of Salem; one brother, John Ritzert of Solom Mills, Ill.; one sister, Margaret Nelson of Salesville; two grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be from 1-6 p.m. Monday in Riverfront Park.
