Adam Harrington
JONESBORO — Adam Harrington, 19, of Jonesboro died Friday, Aug. 11, 2006, in St. Joseph Hospital at Hot Springs.
Adam graduated from Nettleton High School in 2005, and was named Mr. NHS 2005.
He was attending the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.
He is survived by his parents, Neal and Rhonda Harrington of the home; a brother, Ben Harrington of the home; paternal grandfather, Hugh Harrington of Jonesboro; maternal grandparents, Don and Velma Hardin of Hot Springs; his aunts and uncles, Joe and Carol Duncan, Tim and Lauren Harrington, and Randy and Donna Toney; as well as several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, June Harrington.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bruce Tippitt officiating. Langford-Bookout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The family will be receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday in Langford-Bookout Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Building Fund at First Baptist Church.

Wilma B. Shirley
BONO — Wilma B. Shirley, 70, of Bono died Friday, Aug. 11, in her residence.
Mrs. Shirley was born in Lawrence County and was a member of Bono Church of Christ.
Mrs. Shirley departed this world on Aug. 11, 2006. She will be forever loved and missed by her husband, Elbert Shirley; daughter Connie Nalley and husband Larry; son, Lanny Shirley and wife, Karen; and daughter Mandy Fleming and husband, Denis.
With cherished memories she leaves three sisters, Doris Jones, Daisy Wells and Mona Roush; six brothers, Joe Dance, J.W. Clark, Lloyd Clark, J.B. Clark, Jim Clark, and Ronnie Clark; and her beloved grandchildren, Zach Cagle, Brett and Kristin Shirley, Kelly and Jake Lewellyn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Pearl Dance; her stepfather, Lloyd Clark; and two brothers, Bob Dance and Dick Clark.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Roller-Farmers Union Chapel with Ernest Briner Jr. and Carl Clem officiating. Burial will follow in Trinity Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Donnie Coleman, Jason Clark, Joey Dance, Alistair Clark, Caleb Clark, Ivan Clark and Brent Sullins.
Honorary bearers will be Cameron Mayberry, Loyal Bratten, Melvin Miller, Dud Owens, Allen Ring and Juel Kent.
Visitation will be from 6-8 tonight at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Paragould Children’s Homes Inc.

Bruxy Simmons
PAINEWAY — Bruxy Simmons, 82, of Paineway died Aug. 9 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center.
Bruxy grew up in Dell. She was a member of First Baptist Missionary Baptist Church in Lepanto.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. W.L. Simmons; her parents; and two sisters.
Survivors include her sister, Barbara Jenkins of West Hartford, Conn.; and several nephews, nieces and cousins.
Services are at 1 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church in Lepanto with the Rev. Laddie Whaley officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Rest Cemetery in Lepanto under the direction of Woodard Funeral Service.
Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Woodard Funeral Home in Marked Tree.

Ella Williamson
NEWPORT — Ella “Pete” Williamson, 85, of Newport died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, at Little Rock.
She was a waitress and cook for Fred’s Grill and a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Williamson; and her parents, Barney and Ollie Woodman McCoy.
She is survived by a brother, Bobby McCoy; four sisters, Berneva London, Nadean Humphreys, Virginia Odom and Marlyn Pierce; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Dillinger Chapel with burial in Ballew’s Chapel.
Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 tonight in Dillinger Funeral Home.

Bobbie Shannon Belue

OSCEOLA -- Mrs. Bobbie Shannon Belue, 74, of Osceola, entered into eternal rest Sunday, Aug. 20, at her home.

Born Sunday, Aug. 23, 1931, at Joiner, to W. F. and Velma Starling Shannon, she was a lifelong area resident.

She was a graduate of Shawnee High School and a member of the Osceola First Baptist Church and Progressive Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim Belue; one son, James Fairley Yates; one daughter Edith Carol Yates; two brothers, Melvin and Buddy Shannon; and one sister, Edith Shannon.

She is survived by three sons, Billy Yates of Jonesboro, Michael Yates of Memphis and Tommy Yates of West Memphis; one stepson, Dr. Mike Belue of Ruston, La.; three daughters, Debbie Underwood of Memphis, Rita Davison of Osceola and Beth Yates of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; one stepdaughter, Lynne Lawrence of Little Rock; 23 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth Shannon of Joiner; seven sisters, Dorothy Shannon Ray of Hernando Miss., Bessie Shannon Jenkins of Marion, Janice Shannon Childers of Joiner, Tommye Jo Shannon Meade of Tchula, Miss., Carolyn Shannon Speck of Frenchmans Bayou, Margaret Shannon Rounsavall of Marion and Kathy Shannon James of Wilson.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the church.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in Osceola First Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to Louise Chapel Cemetery Fund, First Baptist Church, or donor's choice.

Lois Jones Brashers

CAVE CITY -- Lois Erma Jean Jones Brashers, 69, of Cave City died Saturday, Aug. 19, 2006, in her home.

She was born Nov. 13, 1936, at Bethesda to Geneva Griffin and Marvin Jones. She was raised by a loving aunt and uncle, Lena and Harry Rowlett.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today in Qualls Funeral Home Chapel at Cave City. Burial will follow in Palestine Cemetery west of Cave City with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Herman 'Reeder' Brown

MARKED TREE -- Herman 'Reeder' Brown, 88, of Marked Tree, died Aug. 20.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters and three brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Miller Brown; daughters, Geraldine Tripe and Frances Clemmons; sons, Charles Brown and Ray Brown; sister, Myrtle Brown; and five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Service is at 10 a.m. today in Upper Room Apostolic Church at Tyronza with Lynn Vinson officiating. Burial will be in Gibson Bayou Cemetery at Earle. Wilson Funeral Home of Tyronza has arrangements.

Visitation was Monday.

Gary Caples

JONESBORO -- Gary Caples, 67, of Jonesboro, died Sunday, Aug. 20, in St. Bernard's Medical Center.

Born at Bono, he lived all of his life in the Bono and Jonesboro area.

He was a retired rough rice manager for Riceland Foods, served on the Bono City Council for 15 years, and was an active member of First Assembly of God Church in Jonesboro where he served as a trustee and usher.

He was preceded in death by his parents Garland and Lillie Caples.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Caples of the home; a son and his wife, Brian and Lanelda Caples of Rose Bud; two brothers and their wives, Gaylon and Helen Caples of Bono and Rick and Diane Caples of Mountain Home; and two grandchildren Brett Caples and Carissa Caples, both of Rose Bud.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Assembly of God Church with Mike Glover and Carl Neal officiating. Burial will follow in Old Enterprise Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include the deacons and trustees of First Assembly of God Church.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. in Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.

Those wishing to leave lasting memorials are asked to consider MAPS Mission Fund of First Assembly of God Church.

Buena Vista Driskell

JONESBORO -- Buena Vista Driskell, 96, Jonesboro, died Monday at Skilcare Nursing Center in Jonesboro. She was retired from Lawrence Memorial Hospital, was a former postmistress at Powhatan and also worked in Harrell's Shoe Store.

She was married to Elmer Driskell on March 17, 1926. They were married for 73 years. Mr. Driskell died in 1999.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Pearl Hall; brothers, Clarence, Coy, Hubert, Forrest and Arch Stogsdill.

She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Harrell and her husband, Marcy, of Jonesboro; granddaughters, Pam Bush and her husband, Ben of Jonesboro and Candy Roach and her husband, Gary of Little Rock; great-grandchildren, Tiffany Bush Meyer and her husband, Ryan of Evansville, Ind.; Tanner Basset and his wife, Sarah of Fayetteville; and Jordan Bush McIntire and her husband, Jeremy of Jonesboro. Many friends and other relatives also mourn her passing.

Recently Ms. Driskell saw the arrival of her three great-great grandchildren, Aiden Meyer, Ella Bassett and Brinlea McIntire, which completed five generations of the family.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Harold Russell and Dale Hughart officiating.

Burial will follow in Old Lebanon Cemetery near Lynn under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Old Lebanon Cemetery or Walnut Ridge Gideon International.

Pallbearers are Edward Bilbrey, Tom Stogsdill, Phillip Faulkner, Alvie Stogsdill, Lonnie Gilbreath and Cliff Martin. Honorary pallbearers are Tanner Bassett, Dr. Ryan Meyer, Jeremy McIntire, Ben Bush, Gary Roach, Tom Sloan, Leroy Lacy and Ralph Clark.

Mary Wheeler Hagood

LEACHVILLE -- Mary Elizabeth Wheeler Hagood, 79 of Leachville died Sunday in St. Bernard's Medical Center at Jonesboro.

Born at Cherry Valley, she was the daughter of the late R. L. and Marie Roberts Lovelady and has been a Leachville resident for most of her life. She attended Leachville High School and Arkansas State University.

She and her deceased husband, Donald Wheeler, were the former owners of Wheeler Furniture and Hardware in Leachville and longtime members of the Leachville First Baptist Church. In addition to Mr. Wheeler, she was preceded in death by her sons Dennis Ellis and Ricky Wheeler.

Survivors include her husband, Mr. Bob Hagood of Leachville; one daughter, Mrs. Donna Baird of Round Rock, Texas; one brother, Mr. Wilburn Lovelady of Leachville; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Howard Funeral Service Chapel at Leachville with the Rev. James Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in Leachville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Lovelady, Terry Hagood, Allen Rogers, Thomas Yturri, Jack Milligan and George Donoho. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home. The family prefers any memorials be made to a charity of choice.

Katelyn Rene Hammock

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Katelyn Rene Hammock, 4, died Aug. 18, 2006, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center at Nashville.

She was born Sept. 3, 2001, at Huntingdon, Tenn.

Survivors include her parents, Hershell Hammock Jr. and Nancy Pernyak; sister, Kayla Hammock; brothers: Phillip and Steven Pernyak; grandparents: Irene Vowell and Tom Davidson; all of Holiday; and grandparents: Dale and Maudie Robinson of Blytheville.

Funeral services are 2 pm. today in Wilson Funeral Home at Blytheville with Danny Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Sandy Ridge Cemetery.
