Colin Edward McDonald

JONESBORO -- Colin Edward McDonald, beloved husband of Irene Mary McDonald, passed away on Dec. 19 after a lengthy bout with cancer.

He was born at Bronx, N.Y., and spent some of his boyhood years on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. He was schooled in both Nova Scotia and New York.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Colin Angus and Anna McClellan McDonald and two sisters, Gloria McKinnon and Doris Chromey.

He is survived by a brother, Ronald McDonald of Washington State, and a sister, Joyce Riedlinger of Long Island, N.Y. He is also survived by five children, six grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. McDonald was an Army veteran as a vehicle equipment mechanic in the late '40s in Japan. He worked for many years in the glass industry as a mechanical supervisor, traveling wherever he was needed. He was always busy in production engineering installation of equipment.

For the past 10 years he was employed by Citadel Mini Storage of Jonesboro. He was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 27, at 2 p.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Toombs officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will be private.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 26, from 5-7 p.m. in the funeral home.

Frayo Nunnery

MOUNTAIN HOME -- Mr. Frayo Nunnery, 67, of Mountain Home, formerly of Rector, died Dec. 18, 2006 in Mountain Home.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel of Rector. Freddie Barker will officiate. Interment will be in Woodland Heights Cemetery at Rector.

Visitation will be today from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Linda Riley Rogers

WALNUT RIDGE -- Linda Riley Rogers, 57, died Wednesday.

Preceded in death by her father, Robert Riley, she is survived by her husband, Ray Rogers; three daughters, Nicole Rogers, Tammie Martin and Kristi Smith; one son, Bert Land Jr.; her mother, Sarah McLendon Hernandez; two sisters, Pat Young and Ana Little; two brothers, Robert and Lee Riley; three half-brothers; and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. in House-Gregg Funeral Home at Walnut Ridge. Burial will follow in Bellah Cemetery near Ravenden Springs.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Kenneth Ray Roland

JONESBORO -- Kenneth Ray Roland, 66, of Jonesboro died Monday, Dec. 18, in St. Bernards Medical Center, Jonesboro.

He was born at Bay and lived most of his life in Jonesboro and Flint, Mich. He was retired from General Motors.

Survivors include one son, Timothy Ray Roland of Humboldt, Tenn.; two daughters, Regena Roland and Tracy Roland, both of Flint; two brothers, Wayne Roland of Jonesboro and Jerry Roland of Griffin, Ga.; one sister, Betty Huffard of Fresno, Calif.; six grandchildren; and a very special friend, Mary Payton.

Preceded in death by one brother, Tommy Roland, and his parents, Carl and Flossie Roland.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Roller-Farmers Chapel with David Gibson officiating. Burial will be private

Visitation will be today from 5-8 p.m. in Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.

Gerald Sutterfield

JONESBORO -- Gerald E. Sutterfield, 85, of Jonesboro died Tuesday, Dec. 19, in NEA Medical Center.

Born at Shirley, Mr. Sutterfield moved to Lake City early in life. He later lived in California before moving to Jonesboro in 1959.

He worked for General Motors at Southgate, Calif., and retired from General Electric in Jonesboro with 27 years of service.

Mr. Sutterfield was a member of Fisher Street United Methodist Church, was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Tassie Sutterfield; a sister, Josephine Gipson; and a brother, John Sutterfield.

Survivors include his wife, Marguerite Rogers Sutterfield of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Dianna Sutterfield of Jonesboro; daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Dan Cooper of Rogers; seven grandchildren, Drew Cooper of Louden, Tenn., Daniel Cooper of Knoxville, Tenn.,Tony Sutterfield of Nicholasville, Ky., Kris Sharp, Angie Hotop, David Sutterfield and Jamie Hill, all of Jonesboro; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, O.A. Sutterfield of Riverside, Calif., and Glenn Sutterfield of Bellflower, Calif.

Graveside funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. in Oaklawn Cemetery with Bob Blackwood officiating.

Visitation will be held today from 5-7 p.m. in Emerson Funeral Home.

Margaret A. Westerbeck

PORTLAND, Tenn. -- Margaret A. Westerbeck, 86, of Portland, formerly of Pocahontas, died Wednesday Dec. 20, 2006.

Survivors include her sons, Bob Westerbeck of Cottonwood, Tenn., Keith Westerbeck of Portland, Ronald Westerbeck of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Duane Westerbeck of Maynard; daughter, Marjorie Gearhart of Cottonwood; sister, Virginia Seaunier of Brewster, Wash.; 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Walnut Grove Cemetery at Elm Store with Bill Neptune officiating under the direction of Cox-Waymon Funeral Home.

David Williams

MOUNTAIN HOME -- David Williams, 46, of Mountain Home died Tuesday, Dec. 19, near Bakersfield, Mo., on Highway 101.

He was born at Jonesboro and lived most of his life in Jonesboro having moved to Mountain Home in 1997. He was manager of Echo Point Resort and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his parents, George and Ella Isom Williams of Mountain Home.

Active pallbearers will include Drake Ledbetter, Michael Crump, John Moyers, Donald Bearden, Andy Craft and John Jones.

Honorary pallbearers will include Mark Mattix, Shane Bowers, Terry Glenn, Terry Anderson, Mike Sloan, Dennis Rhodes and Scott Hill.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Roller-Farmers Union Chapel with Ralph Wallis, Winston Burton and Quill Fuchs officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today in Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.

Daniel Cody Broadway

JONESBORO -- Daniel Cody Broadway, 20, of Jonesboro died Monday, Jan. 1, 2007, as a result of an auto accident near Weiner.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and have been entrusted to Gregg Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Jerry Wayne Davis

MANILA -- Jerry Wayne Davis, 59, of Manila died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, in Jonesboro.

He was born to William and Ruby Austin Davis in Corinth, Miss.

Survivors include his wife, "Dell" Thompson Davis of Manila; mother, Ruby Austin Davis of Blytheville; children, Scott Davis and Jonathan McKemie, both of Manila, Micah McKemie of West Plains, Mo., Cheryl Morrow of Sydney and Kathy McCall of Jonesboro; brothers, Charles Davis of Conway, Billy Davis of Blytheville and Danny Davis of Bono; a sister, Linda Childers of Blytheville; 25 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services are 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, in Manila Cemetery with Billy Holifield officiating.

Visitation will be noon-1 p.m. Wednesday in Cobb Funeral Home, Blytheville.

Claudy Rodger Ferguson

MARKED TREE -- Claudy Rodger Duane Ferguson, 65, of Marked Tree died Saturday, Dec. 30, in his residence.

Born May 6, 1941, he was a truck mechanic and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include three sons, David Ferguson, Michael Ferguson and Mark Ferguson, all of Tyronza; three sisters, Maglene Moss of Pontotoc, Miss., Modena Brown of Peoria, Ill., Artlene Chapman of Olive Branch, Miss.; a brother, Dewight Ferguson of Ecru, Miss.; and five grandchildren.

Visitation was Monday.

Graveside services are 1 p.m. today at Tyronza Cemetery with Bro. Gary Andrews officiating.

Wilson Funeral Home of Tyronza is in charge of arrangements.

Vida Goff Jones

SMITHVILLE -- Vida Goff Jones, 100, of Smithville died Saturday evening, Dec. 30, 2006, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Walnut Ridge.

She was born on Nov. 28, 1906, in Nelsonville, the daughter of the late Joe and Eliza Wells Goff.

She was united in marriage to Luke Jones on Jan. 25, 1931, at Annville. He preceded her in death on June 21, 1994.

Vida was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include one brother, James Walker Goff of Walnut Ridge; two nieces, Jan Moss of Jonesboro and Gay Lynn William of Matthews, Mo.; and four nephews, Rickey Goff and Charles Goff, both of Smithville, Everett Jones of Greeley, Colo., and Frank Alters of California.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Billy Joe; three brothers, Webster, Sam and Luther Goff; and one sister, Gladys Helms.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007, in United Methodist Church at Smithville. Burial will follow in Lebanon Cemetery at Nelsonville under the direction of Higginbotham Funeral Services in Walnut Ridge.

Vistation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, in Higginbotham Chapel at Walnut Ridge.
