Elsalene Kennamer

BAY -- Mrs. Elsalene Kennamer, 84, of Bay died Monday morning, Jan. 1, in St. Bernards Medical Center.

She was a homemaker and a member of Bay Assembly of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dick and Lizzie Edwards; three brothers; and six sisters.

Mrs. Kennamer is survived by her three daughters, Nema Wileman and her husband Tommy of Bay, Margaret Timmons and her husband Billy of Bay, and Carolyn Lyons and her husband Pat of Memphis; six grandchildren, Marty Timmons, Steve Wileman, Leslie Barnes, Clay Woods, Michelle Woods and Isabella Lyons; and six great-grandchildren, Bridgett Barnes, Morgan Barnes, Dustin Timmons, Lindsey Ashlock, Chelsey Wileman and Patrick Woods.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Pine Log Cemetery near Brookland with Bro. Charles Hensley officiating. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

There will be no visitation.

For lasting memorials, the family asks that consideration be given to Bay Assembly of God.

James E. Killett Sr.

BLYTHEVILLE -- James E. Killett Sr., 89, of Blytheville died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, in his home.

Born to Albert and Vera Beckett Killett in Lenox, Tenn., he was a retired salesman with the Nabisco Company.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Acree Killett of Blytheville; children, James E. "Jimmy" and Nancy Killett Jr. of Lahaina Maui, Hawaii, Timothy and Jeri Killett of Memphis, Kimbra and Scott Henry of Austin, Texas, and Kevin Killett of Jonesboro; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Virginia Holt of Dyersburg, Tenn., and June Meyers of Muscatine, Iowa.

Funeral services are Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, at 11 a.m. in St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 16th and Willow streets in Blytheville.

Visitation is Wednesday, 10-11 a.m. at the church.

Cobb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Billie G. Martin

FAYETTEVILLE -- Billie G. Martin, 82, a former resident of Ash Flat and Melbourne, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006, in the Fayetteville Veterans Home at Fayetteville.

He was born Oct. 18, 1924, in Kaw City, Okla., to Forrest and Susie Martin.

He was a World War II veteran and served in both the U.S. Merchant Marines and the Army Air Corps from 1942-1949. He served in the Atlantic, Pacific and Mediterranean campaigns during the war.

He was retired from Cooper Communities where he served as a construction manager at Hot Springs Village; Tellico Village in Lenoir City, Tenn.; and Savannah Lakes Village in Matthews, S.C. Prior to joining Cooper Communities, he worked for the Arkansas Highway Department as an assistant resident engineer in Wynne where he served for 10 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Susie Martin of Ash Flat; his wife, Eva Martin; son, Kevin Martin; and brother, Jesse Martin.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Sharon Martin of Cave Springs; daughter-in-law, April and Chris Westmoreland of Dacula, Ga.; four brothers, Doyne Martin of Plano, Texas, Bob Martin of Horseshoe Bend, Warren Martin of Phoenix and Gary Martin of Hardy; three sisters, Carmolita Ferguson of Searcy, Carolyn Bowers of Jonesboro and Linda Thompson of Little Rock; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan. 3, at 2 p.m. with visitation from 1-2 p.m. in the Church of Christ at Ash Flat. Burial will be in Wiles Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.

Memorials may be made to Memorial and Honor Program, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis 38105.

Robert "Bob" N. Parker

JONESBORO -- Robert "Bob" Parker, 61, of Jonesboro died Friday, Dec. 29, in NEA Medical Center.

Born in Monette, he lived all of his life in Northeast Arkansas. He owned and operated Parker Painting and Paper Hanging Company of Jonesboro. He was a cattle farmer and member of Woodsprings Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Fletcher Parker of the home; a son, Wayne and his wife Marta Rusley-Parker of Jonesboro; a daughter, Tammie and her husband Dewayne House of Jonesboro; three brothers, Doyle and his wife Jean Parker of Turlock, Calif., John and his wife Janette Parker, and Jim and his wife Connie Parker, all of Jonesboro; two sisters, Judy Clark of St. Charles, Mo., and Georgia and her husband Curt Spence of Jonesboro; his "little sis," Marcie Smith of St. Charles, Mo.; two grandchildren, Brody and his wife Billie Jean McClaren, and Sherman House III, all of Jonesboro; two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Kendall McClaren, both of Jonesboro; his dog Sparky; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, C.M. and Beatrice Spencer Parker.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Roller-Farmers Union Chapel with the Rev. John Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Ken Farmer, Sherman House Sr., Perry Byrd, Mike Clark, Eric Parker and Mike Parker.

Honorary bearers will include Wayne Tidwell, Floyd Goodman, Johnny Emmons, Robert Elam, Raymond Sherrill, Roy Talley, Bob Layne, Odis Fletcher, Bob Clark, Todd Smith, Robbie Parker, Chris Parker, Steve Fletcher and Johnny Wagner.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Hospital, P.O. Box 1893, Memphis 38101-9950, or NEA Humane Society, 6111 East Highland Drive, Jonesboro 72401.

Visitation will be from 5-8 tonight in the funeral home.

Eloise Bernice Pierce

LEACHVILLE -- Mrs. Eloise Bernice Pierce, 78, of Leachville, the widow of Mr. Robert Pierce, died Sunday, Dec. 31, in St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born at New Survey, Mo., she was the daughter of the late William and Lettie Belle McGregor Turner.

She was a 1947 graduate of Steele High School in Steele, Mo., and received a bachelor of science degree in education in 1980.

She was a homemaker and had worked as an accountant and bank teller. She had been a Leachville resident since 1962 and was a member of Nettleton Church of Christ in Jonesboro.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Anthony Woodward; and one brother, Hoytt Turner.

She is survived by two daughters, Beth Pool and her husband Jim of Sherwood and Gale Pierce of Leachville; and two grandchildren, Lauren Pool and Nichole Pool, both of Sherwood.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Howard Funeral Chapel at Leachville with Jimmy Young officiating. Burial will follow in Leachville Cemetery.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Jim Pool, Chris Pierce, Dr. Tom Pierce, Johnny Hawkins, Ron Dent, Dan Ritchey and Randy Nelms.

Honorary pallbearers include Joe Wheeler, Bud Selby, Ralph Wells, William Olive, C.W. Bassing and Jack Pierce.

The family will receive visitors from 6-8 tonight in the funeral home.

Stella B. Wilson

ABINGDON, Ill. -- Mrs. Stella B. Wilson, 96, of Abingdon, formerly of Caraway, died Saturday, Dec. 30.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and have been entrusted to Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Emily Estell Clark

POCAHONTAS -- Emily Estell Clark, 89, of Overland, Mo., daughter of the late Ben and Katie (McDaniel) Newton, died Friday, Jan. 5, in Missouri Baptist Medical Center at St. Louis.

Survivors are one daughter, Nellie Shirley of Overland; two granddaughters, Carletta Skirball and Pam Vinyard, both of St. Louis; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday with services following at 10:30 in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery at Attica.

Oma Mae Duty

NEWPORT -- Oma Mae Duty, 79, of Newport died Saturday, Jan. 6.

She is survived by two sons, Jeff and Andy Duty, two daughters, Cathy Simmons, and Emily George; one brother, Herman Murray; 19 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in Dillinger Chapel with burial in Sandhill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Arrangements are by Dillinger Funeral Home.

Betty Jane Horton

JOINER -- Betty Jane Horton, 68, of Joiner died Friday, Jan. 5.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters and one son, Dwight "Pete" Horton.

Survivors include her husband, John Elgie Horton of Joiner; two sons, John Thomas Horton and Ricky Kopp, both of Osceola; six brothers; four sisters; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 6-8 tonight in Wilson Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to West Clinic Wings Cancer Foundation, (901) 322-2984.
