Leonard Lamar Teaster III

POCAHONTAS -- Leonard Lamar Teaster III, 47, died Tuesday.

He is survived by his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Leonard L. Teaster II of Pocahontas; daughter, Aundie Jo Schaffer of Atlanta; brother, Trason Neil Teaster of Savannah, Ga.; sister, Cindi Madison of Pocahontas; and three nephews, Stephen Southard, Jonathan Madison and Torin Teaster.

A brother, Kenny Joe Teaster, preceded him in death.

Graveside services will be at noon Saturday in Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti, Mo., with Lynn Ables officiating.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. today in McNabb Funeral Home at Pocahontas.

Mr. Bobby Gene Walker

TRUMANN -- Mr. Bobby Gene Walker, 73, of Trumann died Wednesday in NEA Medical Center at Jonesboro.

Born at Harrisburg, he had lived in Trumann for the past 25 years and was formerly of California.

He was a retired quality control foreman for Roach Manufacturing, veteran of the Navy and World War II and Korean War and of the Catholic faith.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert Walker Jr. and Billy Walker; and his parents, Albert and Hattie Hogue Walker.

Survivors include his wife, Molly C. Walker of Commerce, Calif.; two sons, Gary G. Walker of Whittier, Calif. and Mark D. Walker of Downey, Calif.; three grandchildren, Desire Walker, Marcus Walker and Evan Walker; four sisters, Irene Laughinghouse, Loraine Blunk and Velma Mae King, all of Trumann, and Linda Berry of Walnut Ridge; four brothers, Elmer Ray Walker and James "Jimmy" Walker, both of Trumann, Gary Walker and Edward "Mike" Walker, both of Jonesboro.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann with Father Mark Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Farm Hill Cemetery at Harrisburg.

Pallbearers will be Terry Whitman, Dale Whitman, Benton Whitman, Richard Sharp, Wayne King Jr., Wayne King III, Gary Walker and James Walker.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today in Thompson Funeral Home.

Fannie Beatrice Baldwin

GILMORE -- Fannie Baldwin, 87, died Jan. 10.

Born at Memphis, she lived more than 50 years at Gilmore. She was a member of Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons, Wesley Morris, William Morris, Freddie Morris and Lonzo Morris, all of Chicago, and Felbert Morris of Gilmore; daughters, Annette Morris Hutchinson of St. Louis and Vernon Fay Williams of Calmet City, Ill.; one brother, Haywood Dean of Blytheville; 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Thursday in Union Grove Baptist Church at Gilmore with the Rev. G.C. Simpson Sr. officiating.

Burial will follow in Union Grove Cemetery under the direction of Woodard Funeral Service of Marked Tree.

Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. today in the funeral home at Marked Tree.

Jesstene Calaway Blalock

PARAGOULD -- Mr. Jesstene Calaway "J.C." "Jim" Blalock, 83, of Paragould passed away Monday, Jan. 15, in Arkansas Methodist Medical Center at Paragould.

He was born May 13, 1923, at Bay to George Mitchell and Margaret Reed Blalock. He was a salesman all his life, working for Tobacco Sales Co. and later half-owner of B&B Homes Inc., both at Jonesboro.

He was a World War II veteran, serving in both the Navy and the Army. He was a member of the First Church of God at Paragould.

Mr. Blalock is survived by his wife, Martha Bell Blalock of Paragould; two sons, Michael C. Blalock and wife Kim of Jonesboro and Rickey R. Blalock of Las Cruces, N.M.; one stepdaughter, Lennie Hurst and husband Bill of Paragould; six brothers, O'Neal Blalock and wife Ida of Jonesboro, Eugene Blalock and wife Nadine of St. Peters, Mo., Alton Blalock and wife Clara of Robbins, N.C., Duane Blalock and wife Millie of Ozark Acres, Billy Blalock and wife Mary of Udall, Mo., and Dickey Blalock of Bay; two sisters, Bernita Warren Colbert and husband Jim of Jonesboro and Pat Copeland of Bay.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Berl L. Blalock of Cash.

Mr. Blalock is also survived by five grandchildren, Jennifer Johnson-Blalock of Boston, Georginia and Caroline Blalock of York, Pa., Brooks Atkinson of Collierville, Tenn., and Sarah Beth Hurst of Paragould. There were also three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Heath Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Kevin Edgar officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery at Brookland.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today in Heath Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to First Church of God, Paragould, or the charity of the givers' choice.

Edna M. Caster

SUN CITY WEST, Ariz. -- Edna M. Caster, 81, died Jan. 13, 2007, at Sun City West.

Edna was born June 29, 1925, to Louis Andrew Banks and Amanda Adeline Hardin Banks at Walnut Ridge. She married Robert G. Caster on Aug. 31, 1956.

Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; and her sisters, Louie Horton, Elsie Baker, Laura James and Agnes Lester.

She is survived by her brothers, Edward Banks, Arlin R. Banks and Louis "Jay" Banks; her sisters, Dorothy Conatser and Maxine Mauzey; and many nieces and nephews.

Edna was an avid bridge player and will be missed by many a bridge partner.

Graveside services will be held in Sunland Memorial Park, Sun City, Ariz., today at 1 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Arizona.

Homer Edward Foreman

CAVE CITY -- Homer Edward Foreman, 92, of Cave City died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, in Cave City Nursing Home at Cave City.

He was born Jan. 31, 1914, at Sidney to Wesley and Florence Layne Foreman. He was a farmer and member of United Methodist Church at Sidney.

Funeral services will begin Thursday at 2 p.m. in Qualls Funeral Home Chapel at Cave City. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery at Sidney with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today.

Gladys Hillis

WEINER -- Gladys Hillis, 93, passed this life on Saturday, Jan.13, in Flagler Hospital at St. Augustine, Fla.

She was born April 12, 1913 at Mountain View. She was a member of the Jonesboro Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was formerly employed by Frolic Footwear of Jonesboro and later worked as a nursing assistant at Poplar Bluff, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Frank and Mary Childers Raby; her husband, Earl Hillis; and a son, Alton Earl Hillis.

A beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Gladys is survived by one daughter, Mary LaRue Pope of Jonesboro; one brother, James Alvin Raby of Flint, Mich.; three grandchildren, Rebecca Hart of Jacksonville, Fla., Lisa Ayala of St. Augustine and Ray-a-Nay Dacus of Kewaunee, Wis.; and three great-grandchildren, Brian Hart, Dustin Dacus and Zoe Ayala.

A celebration of life will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in Roller-Farmers Union Chapel at Weiner. Burial will follow in the Weiner Oak Grove Cemetery at Weiner.

Pallbearers will include Tim Easter, Randall Godwin, David Hart, Kenny Raby, Robert Raby and Ronnie Raby. Honorary pallbearers will include Leroy Conrad, Charles Pope, Bobby Raby, Earl Raby and James Alvin Raby.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

James L. Housh Jr.

MAXTON, N.C. -- James L. Housh Jr., 50, of Maxton, N.C., died Saturday.

Survivors include his wife, Katy Housh; mother, Monique Harcourt Housh; sons, James Micah Housh of Laurinburg, N.C. and Bryan Joseph Housh of Maxton; daughters, Cynthia Woodard of Laurinburg, and Shawna Chassity Jackson and husband Chris of Tuckerman; brother, Ira Housh; sisters, Patricia McAdams and Catherine Laundry; and six grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Jackson's Newport Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Stranger's Home Cemetery at Alicia.

Visitation will be today from 6-9 p.m.

Robert Arthur Needham

WALNUT RIDGE -- Robert Arthur Needham, 80, died Monday in his residence.

He had lived at Walnut Ridge most of his life and was a retired farm laborer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois; his parents, Elmer and Thelma Warren Needham; and sisters, Mary Etta Gibbins and Lillian Fdrandec.

He is survived by sons, Robert E. Needham of Walnut Ridge and Jimmy Dale Needham of Pennsylvania; daughters, Gail Moore of Walnut Ridge, Barbara Slatton of Missouri, Kay Allen of Walnut Ridge, Janice Bunton of Mayflower; sisters, Virginia Cockran and Sue Coats, both of California; brother, Marvin Needham of Oklahoma; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be graveside Thursday at 10 a.m. in Lawrence Memorial Park with Buddy Tribble officiating and will be under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Mary Lee Prescott

JONESBORO -- Mary Lee Prescott, 75, of Jonesboro, died Monday in Ridgecrest Nursing Center at Jonesboro.

Born at Marked Tree, Mrs. Prescott lived in Cotton Plant before moving to Jonesboro 30 years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church at Jonesboro. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Wayne Smith and Lester Prescott; and one brother, Jimmy Stone.

Survivors include two daughters, Becky Slinkard of Batesville, Miss.; and Juanita Ballard of Spokane, Wash.; three sisters, Wanda Long and Donna Harness, both of Jonesboro, and Patsy Riggs of Tulsa, Okla.; two brothers, Charles "Chili" McKay of Jonesboro and Eugene McKay of Van Cleave, Miss.; three grandchildren, Nathan Slinkard, Debra Slinkard and Jennifer Slinkard; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in Ridgecrest Nursing Center, 3016 North Church, Jonesboro, with Leonard Lingenfelter officiating.

For lasting memorials, the family asks that consideration be given to Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church Mission Program, 2016 N. Church, Jonesboro 72401.

There will be no visitation.
