Starre White

HARRISBURG -- Mrs. Starre (Cole) White, 42, of Harrisburg died Thursday, Jan. 25.

Mrs. White is survived by two sons, Zack and Jeremey Blasett; husband, Neil White; father, Carl Cole, all of Harrisburg; one stepdaughter, Susan Shanneil White of Jonesboro; two brothers, Timothy Cole and wife Petina, and Edward Cole and wife Tonya, all of Harrisburg; and one grandchild, London Paige.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Jackson's Harrisburg Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 6-8 p.m.

Arrangements by Jackson's Harrisburg Funeral Home.

Lois Ball

WEINER -- Lois Ball, 95, of Weiner died Monday at the Woodbriar Nursing Center in Harrisburg.

She was retired from Weiner High School and enjoyed quilting, sewing and gardening. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

She is survived by a daughter, Ernestine Wixon of Fisher; one brother, Raymond Wymer of Mayflower; three sisters, Mary Zigenhorn of Jonesboro, Levellas Smith of Cherry Valley and Freda DeNinno of Okla.; three grandchildren, Todd Bartholomew of Weiner, Ward Wixon of Fisher and Marshall Wixson of Collierville, Tenn.; four great-grandchildren, Bryan Wixson of Collierville, Dustin Wixson of Maumelle, Haley Jones of Jonesboro and Kenzi Bartholomew of Weiner; and one great-great-grandson, Andrew Wixson of Maumelle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earnst Ball.

Active pallbearers include David Schwartz, Arthur Booth, S.P. Schwartz, Bobby Boyle, Leo Bartholomew and Mike Shreve. Honorary pallbearers include Dr. Vonda Houchin, the staff of Woodbriar Nursing Home, the Weiner Fire Department, Winnie Walker, Willa Greeno and Carolyn Dinsmore.

Visitation is from 12-2 p.m. today at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home in Weiner with funeral services following at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Lewis Cemetery at Hickory Ridge with David Howard officiating.

Memorials may be made to Weiner Fire Department at 101 North Washington, Weiner, or West Poinsett Memorial Library at 203 West Second, Weiner.

Nellie Caffery

JONESBORO -- Nellie Caffery, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007, at St. Bernards Medical Center.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and are entrusted to Gregg Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Mildred Terry Carter

TYRONZA -- Mildred Grace Terry Carter, 86, of Tyronza passed away Monday, Feb. 5, 2007, at her home in Tyronza.

Mrs. Carter, a retired church secretary for Tyronza First Baptist Church, was a member of Tyronza First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Carter; daughter, Charolette Jean Carter; brother, Dudley Terry; and son-in-law, Tom Lee.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Grace Lee of Tyronza and Kay Carter Adair and husband Johnny of Arkadelphia; eight grandchildren, Debbie Carter of Trumann, Wally Lee and Terri Grissom, both of Tyronza, Cindy Ledbetter of Stuttgart, Christy Syman of Kansas City, Kan., Melinda Evans of Greenbrier, Mark Adair and Marty Adair, both of Arkadelphia; 18 great- grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Tyronza First Baptist Church with interment following in Tyronza Cemetery. Raymond Routon will be officiating.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Adair, Dewey Grissom, Wally Lee, Rex Terry, Rich Terry and Kirk Word.

Visitation will be held this evening from 5-8 at Tyronza First Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to Tyronza First Baptist Church or Haven Hospice.

Maude Carrell

WALNUT RIDGE -- Maude Carrell, age 102, of Walnut Ridge, formerly of Black Rock, died Monday, Feb., 5, 2007, at Lawrence Hall Nursing Center in Walnut Ridge.

She was born on Sept. 15, 1904, at Black Rock, the daughter of the late Mote and Nellie Kidder Woodson. She was united in marriage to Frank Carrell, and he preceded her in death in 1990.

Mrs. Carrell was a homemaker and a member of the Black Rock Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sisters, Mary Martin of Black Rock and Jessie Carroll of Hoxie, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Higginbotham Chapel in Walnut Ridge with Donald Layne officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Forrest Cemetery at Black Rock under the direction of Higginbotham Funeral Service in Walnut Ridge.

Visitation will be from noon until time of service.

Pallbearers will be Glen Carroll, Paul Ragsdale, Don Truitt, John Martin and Richard Bowker.

Dorothy Jean Lasley Clark

JONESBORO -- Dorothy Jean Lasley Clark, 77, of Jonesboro, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2007, at St. Bernards Medical Center.

She was born in Jonesboro and was preceded in death by her husband, T.J. Clark; her parents, Willie Lasley Jr. and Willie L. Washington Lasley; one son-in-law, Joseph Thompson; and one stepson, Willie C. Clark.

She was a member of St. John's Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a deaconess and the floral chairwoman.

She leaves to cherish her memory four sons, Henton Charles Brodie of Florissant, Mo., Willie Lee Johnson Sr. and wife Ida of Little Rock, Shelby Clark Sr. and wife Barbara, and Manuel Clark and wife Patti, both of Jonesboro; three daughters, Carey Ann Marshall and husband Joe T. of Jonesboro, Laverne Washington of Dallas and Onita Thompson of Jonesboro.

She is also survived by two brothers, Pearly Lasley and wife Helen of Jonesboro, Calvin Lasley and wife Winnifred of Los Angeles; one sister, Ruth Martin of Jonesboro; one stepson, Ervin Clark and wife Rosetta of Jonesboro; six stepdaughters, Doris Richardson, Pearl Simmons, Dorothy Hampton and Earnestine Clark, all of Jonesboro, Barbara Farmer, Dolly Slater, Augusta and Fola Green, all of Searcy; one sister-in-law, Tennessee Johnson of Patterson; 33 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Friday at St. John's Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Brandon D. Walker officiating and burial to follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Frankie Davis Sr., Curtis Howard, Zachery Ward Sr., Willie Johnson Jr., Lewis Davis Jr., Jesse Washington Jr., Pierre Brown and Kevin Johnson.

For those wishing to leave lasting memorials, the family requests you please consider St. John's Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, 306 North Main St., Jonesboro 72401.

There will be no visitation.

Mary 'Charles' Craft

BONO -- Mary "Charles" Craft, 88, of Bono died Monday, Feb. 5, at Skilcare Nursing Center in Jonesboro.

Born in Bono, she was a homemaker, an avid sports fan and enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing. She sang with the Bashful Trio and was a member of the Bono Church of Christ.

She is survived by one daughter and her husband, Shelby and Donald Jones of Bono; and four grandchildren, Shena and husband Jamie Sims, Perry and wife Cindy Jones, all of Bono, Bart and wife Paige Jones, and Barry and wife Dana Jones, all of Jonesboro; and nine great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Craft; three brothers, Bill Hendrix, Al Hendrix and Monk Rice; and two sisters, Nell Mengers and Florence Hendrix.

Pallbearers will include Jewell Kent, Rick Thomas, Dud Owens, Arvis Shirley, John Owens and Bill Imoden. Honorary pallbearers include Elbert Shirley, Lowell Bratten, Walt Sauser and Cameron Mayberry.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Roller-Farmers Union Chapel with Tony Sauser and Kenneth Gossett officiating. Burial will follow in Trinity Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.

Loretta Kathleen Davis

FORREST CITY -- Mrs. Loretta Kathleen Davis, age 70, of Forrest City died Monday at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

She is survived by her son, Kim Cheadom Davis of Forrest City; daughter, Kathy Stewart of Jonesboro; brothers, Joe Ross and Thomas Ross, both of California; grandchildren, Jessica and Ross; and two great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Billy "Shug" Davis, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Stevens Funeral Home with burial in Forrest Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis 38105.

Lillie Fry

BLACK OAK -- Lillie Gertrude Fry, 84, of Black Oak, died Saturday Feb. 3, 2007, at Monette Manor Inc.

She was born in Judsonia and lived in Black Oak most of her life. She was a homemaker and member of Black Oak Church of Christ and Extension Homemakers Club of Black Oak.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Fry; one son, James Fry; grandson, Lonnie Lee Jones; great-grandson Christopher Hardy; and one brother, Jesse Haney.

She is survived by one daughter, Grace Jones of Black Oak; two sons, Charles Fry of Corn, Okla., and Ray Fry of Burke, Va.; one daughter-in-law, Paulette Fry of Black Oak; five sisters, Thelma Cooper of South Haven, Mich., Mary Fisher of Lawrenceville, Ga., Wilma Taylor of Lakeland, Fla., Glennie Blanchard and Emily Watson, both of Jonesboro; one sister-in-law, Elaine Haney of O'Fallon, Ill.; and one brother, Loran Haney of Jonesboro. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Nettleton Cemetery in Jonesboro with Chub Qualls officiating. Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements.

There will be no public visitation.
