Ashley Allison

JONESBORO -- Ashley Nichole Allison, 23, of Jonesboro died Tuesday, April 3, at her residence.

A Westside High School graduate, she was employed by Pizza Inn and Express Mart. She was a member of Westvale Baptist Church.

Survivors include her parents, Lisa Goode of Jonesboro and Steven Goode of Tennessee; a son, Devin Allen Glass Mayes of Princeton, N.J.; and a sister, Valarie Ann Goode of Jonesboro.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Billye Goode, A.H. Rod and Juanita Minton; an uncle, Dale Goode; and two cousins, Ronnie Gene Wewers Jr. and Rodney Allen Minton.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Old Enterprise Cemetery with Zane Gragg officiating.

Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will include Mark James, Joe O'Neill, Travis Gober, Lyndle James, Phillip O'Neill and Chris Hanson.

Ann C. Henley

TRUMANN -- Ann C. Henley, 53, of Trumann passed away Wednesday afternoon at the family residence. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann.

Augusta Lawson Hood

WALNUT RIDGE -- Augusta Lawson Hood, 87, of Walnut Ridge, formerly of Memphis, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2007.

Survivors include two sisters, Auvern Whaley of Walnut Ridge and Yvonnie Crittendon of Plains, Kan.; three nieces; two nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

Graveside service will be Friday at 1 p.m. with Robert Combs officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Interment will be in Cross Roads Cemetery under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home of Hoxie.

Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m. till 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mary Ann Lawrence

PAYNEWAY -- Mary Ann Simmons Tacker Lawrence, 60, of Payneway died Tuesday, April 3, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

She was a homemaker and member of Corners Chapel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Michell Tacker; two brothers, Clayton and Freddie Simmons; and one sister, Jean Wolcott.

She is survived by her husband, Billy Lawrence of Payneway; two sons, Steve Tacker of Payneway and Eric Tacker of Jonesboro; two stepsons, Kevin Lawrence of West Memphis and Michael Riggs of Memphis; one brother, John Simmons of Marked Tree; a special friend, Liz Simpson of Payneway; and two grandchildren, Noah and Garen Tacker.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Corners Chapel Baptist Church at Payneway with interment in Marked Tree Cemetery. Glenn Hurst will officiate.

Arrangements are by Murphy Funeral Home in Marked Tree.

Joyce Louise Mitchell

WATER VALLEY -- Joyce Louise Mitchell, 84, died Wednesday, April 4, at her home.

Her husband, Chris Mitchell Sr.; three sisters, Maxine Riddle, Ruth Capps and Jenny Holland; and a brother, Cecil McMullin, preceded her in death.

She is survived by three sons, Chris Mitchell Jr. and wife Kathy, Danny Mitchell and wife Alesa, and Bill Mitchell and wife Susie, all of Water Valley; three daughters, Peggy Kay Emmons and husband Marvin Ray of Green Forrest, Linda Hooton and Diann Taylor and husband Danny, both of Water Valley; a brother, Bill McMullin and sister-in-law Faye McMullin, both of Paducah, Ky.; 13 grandchildren, Samantha Vickers, Randall Hooton, Mable Barnett, Chris Hooton, Chris Mitchell III, Richard Mitchell, Mathew Mitchell, Jeremy Mitchell, Eric Mitchell, Jonathon Mitchell, Rachael Saylors, Brian Taylor and Wess Smith; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with Marvin Ray Emmons and Howard Pankey officiating. Burial will follow in Water Valley Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5-8 Friday at the funeral home.

Lynn Eldon Neely

BONO -- Lynn Eldon Neely died Wednesday, April 4, in NEA Hospital at Jonesboro.

He was born in Jonesboro into the family of Gus and Laura Tannehill Neely.

He formerly owned Westside Catfish, Red and White Grocery and was the first mayor of Egypt. He was an elder at Washington Avenue Church of Christ and also served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife, Willene Downs Neely of the home; daughter-in-law, Camille McNamara, and one grandson, Austin McNamara of Houma, La.; a daughter, Renea Dellinger of Moore, Okla.; two grandchildren, Spc. Aaron Lee Dellinger serving in the U.S. Army at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., and Spc. Kyle Lynn Dellinger serving in the U.S. Army Reserve in Afghanistan; and two sisters, Frances Hewett of Hardy and Elenor Murphy of Biggers.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Willa Dean Neely; parents, Gus and Laura Neely; and two brothers, Darrell and Marian Neely.

Pallbearers will include Kenneth Neely, Gavin Murphy, Travis Kimberling, Josh Neely, Duane Harvey and Byron Hewett.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Roller-Farmers Union Chapel with Kenneth Gossett officiating. Burial will follow in Herman Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Ken Reed

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Ken Reed, 43, of Poplar Bluff, originally from Pocahontas, died Monday, April 2, 2007, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Mr. Reed was born on April 1, 1964. He was employed by Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center and a graduate of Southeast Missouri University. He enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Rams games, was an avid reader and enjoyed being with his friends and family.

Ken was a loving and devoted son and brother. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his parents, Neal and Carol Reed of Poplar Buff; one brother, Kelly Reed; adopted family members, Jim, Cheryl, Warren and Brooke Griffin, Terry and Connie Shields and Jim Kester; as well as many other friends and family members.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. today in Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home at Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Gary Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association and to stem cell research.

George L. Rodgers

BLACK ROCK -- George L. Rodgers, 85, of Black Rock died Tuesday, April 3.

He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army and will receive military honors graveside.

Survivors include his wife, Vida M. Rodgers; sons, Billy Gene Rodgers and Carlos W. Howley, both of Rockford, Ill., and Ralph Eugene Rodgers of Lafe; daughter, Frances Smith of Black Rock; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Cox-Waymon Funeral Home, Pocahontas. Burial will follow in Lawrence Memorial Park, Walnut Ridge.

Visitation will be from 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Margie L. Skinner

FLINT, Mich. -- Margie L. Smith Skinner of Flint, age 94, died Monday, April 2, 2007, at Brian's House of Davison, Mich.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, with Larry Walker and Brian Stogner co-officiating.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Grand Blanc, Mich.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Brian's House of Davison.

Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Margie was born in Black Oak on Oct. 2, 1912, and was a resident of the Flint area most of her life. She was a founding member of Church of Christ in Flint. Mrs. Skinner retired from General Motors in 1977.

Surviving are five children, Mary and husband Don McComb, David and wife Rose, Sharon Badour Kist, Virginia and husband Ron Baugh, Jon and wife Catherine; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bess Nall of Lake City, Lillian and husband John Robbins of Jacksonville, Fla.; one brother, Houston Smith of Paragould; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; and grandson, Bobby Badour.

The family of Mrs. Skinner would like to thank her special neighbors, Ken and wife Joan Parker, and the staff and nurses, especially Shellie, Denise, Cheryl, Donna, Shari, Gwyn, Sue, Karen, Kim and Barb at Brian's House.

Ina Grace Tyler

POCAHONTAS -- Ina Grace Tyler, 92, died Wednesday, April 4.

Her parents, Fred and Mary Brown; her husband, Willis Tyler; brother, Warren F. Brown; sister, Nona Faye Brown; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild preceded her in death.

She is survived by a son, James Willis Tyler of Vilonia; five daughters, Frieda Sue Bland of Hot Springs, Mary Jo Freeman, Carol Glisson, Linda Eveland and Fran Couch, all of Pocahontas; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granchildren.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Masonic Cemetery with Gerald Fears officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 tonight at McNabb Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Randolph County Library.
