Billy Marion Welch

BONO -- Billy Marion Welch, 58, of Bono died Wednesday, April 4, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

He was born March 25, 1949, in Jonesboro to W.T. and Florence Scott Welch. He was a lifelong resident of Bono. He was a member of Bono Church of Christ. He was a farmer and has served as trustee of Trinity Cemetery the past 32 years.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Welch of the home; three sons, Justin Welch and wife Stephanie of Bono, Brett Welch and wife Sarah of St. Louis, and Patrick Welch and wife Leah of Marion; two daughters, Shania Montgomery and husband Michael of Jonesboro, and Ashley Timms and husband Brad Timms of Bono; nine grandchildren, Slade Welch, Macy Montgomery, Chance Welch, Kynley Welch, Sydney Montgomery, Sloane Welch, Braxton Timms, Libby Welch and Lanie Welch; two sisters, Scotta Napier of Paragould and Janna Davis of Tulsa, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W.T. and Florence Welch of Bono.

Active pallbearers will be Tony Sauser, Jesse Tate, Lester Wilson, Joel Cullen, Barry Fielder and Mickey Dement.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Massey, Jimmy Woodard, Kim Imboden, Clay Imboden, Robert Douglas, Donald Combs, Jim Baugh, Matt Goin, Robin Castleberry, Tommy McElrath, Bill Cullen, Kenny James and Danny Nuckles.

Memorials may be made to Bono Church of Christ Building Fund, American Cancer Society or Trinity Cemetery Fund.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Bono Church of Christ with Gary Cremeens officiating. Burial will follow in Trinity Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 5-8 tonight at Bono Church of Christ.

Peggy Jo Junior Wilson

Aug. 27, 1955 - April 4, 2007

WYNNE -- Peggy Jo Wilson, 51, Wynne, died Wednesday at her residence.

Mrs. Wilson is preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret (Goodrich) Junior; and a sister, Clytine Davis.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth; a son, Marcus; one daughter, Kenna Allen; two brothers, Jerry and Jackie Junior; two sisters, Gail French and Jean Martin; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home, Wynne Chapel, with interment in Hunter Cemetery, Hunter.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of Wynne, (870) 238-9400.

Kathryn Brown

JONESBORO -- Kathryn Brown, 92, of Jonesboro died Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at the Manila Nursing Home in Manila.

She was born in Washington, D.C., and had lived in Jonesboro since 1973, moving here from Tucson, Ariz.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn Brown; her parents, Thomas Murphy and Ella Woodgate Murphy; and four brothers, Joseph Murphy, Thomas R. Murphy, Edward Murphy and John Murphy.

She is survived by her sister, Mary Wivel of Atlanta, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

Visitation will be Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge of arrangements.

The family requests that lasting memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City 73123-1718.

Timothy Fredrick Craig

WALNUT RIDGE -- Timothy Craig, 37, died Monday in a car accident south of Sedgwick.

He was a farmer and had lived in Bono before moving to Walnut Ridge two years ago.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Lee Craig; his parents, Joel and Linda Craig; and grandparents, F.A. and Lorene Tate.

He is survived by five daughters, Whitney McGinty and Jenny Craig, both of Walnut Ridge, Cassie Craig, MacKenzie Craig and Lindzie Craig of Plymouth, Ind.; one brother, Scott Craig of Jonesboro; and two sisters, Penny Powers of Jonesboro and Dana Carter of Harrisburg.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at New Life Cathedral Church in Hoxie under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home with Chuck Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will follow in Powhatan Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:30-8 at the funeral home.

Ellen Louise Dyer

ATKINS -- Ellen Louise Dyer, 44, of Atkins died Tuesday, April 10.

Survivors include her husband, Lee Dyer of Atkins; mother, Sandy Metheny of Maynard; son, Daryl Cox of Merced, Calif.; brother, David H. Metheny of Cabot; birth mother, Phyllis Smart of Merced; two nieces; and one nephew.

Graveside services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in Johnston Cemetery at Reyno with Matthew Kerley officiating.

Visitation will be from 12:30 until 1:30 before services at Cox-Waymon Funeral Home in Pocahontas.

Mary Fletcher

MONETTE -- Mary Ellen Bunch Fletcher, 94, of Monette died Tuesday, April 10, 2007, in Lakeside Nursing Center at Lake City.

Born in Black Oak on Jan. 18, 1913, she was a homemaker and a member of the Black Oak Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Fletcher; her parents, Henry and Luna Bunch; one son, Ray Bunch; one grandson, Brian Keith Fletcher; and 10 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include four daughters, Fayeon McLaughlin and her husband Albert of Harrison; Billie Ceren and her husband Al of Bumpus Mills, Tenn.; Carol Lybarger and her husband Mike of Hot Springs and Kay Parrish and her husband Mark of Monette; three sons, Richard T. Bunch and his wife Ruth of Oklahoma City; Ronnie Fletcher and his wife Jennifer of Monette and Lowell "Sonny" Fletcher and his wife Paulette of Trumann; 25 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Gregg Funeral Home Chapel with Chub Qualls officiating. Burial will follow in Monette Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today in Gregg Funeral Home at Monette.

Edith Gurley

PIGGOTT -- Edith Gurley, 93, of Piggott passed away Sunday, April 8, 2007, at Alma Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Alma.

She was born May 18, 1913, in Crockett, the daughter of the late William Harrison and Sarah Ellen Holifield Crockett.

She was united in marriage to Lester T. Gurley on March 5, 1939. He preceded her in death in 1956. She was also preceded in death by one stepdaughter, Wanda Hanna; four brothers, Denver, John, Cecil and Taylor; and one sister, Ester.

Her true passion was cooking. She was employed with Piggott School District as lead cook at Southeast Central and later at Piggott Elementary School. She retired from the cafeteria at Brown Shoe Co. and also cooked at United Methodist Church on Wednesday nights. She loved gardening and canning. She delighted in the compliments that she received from her family and friends that she served.

She is survived by one daughter, Martha Jane Coomer Knight of North Little Rock; one stepdaughter, Marietta Glenn and husband Vernon, of Hot Springs; seven grandchildren, Janssen D. Coomer and wife Tammy, Shannon K. Coomer and wife Lynn, Tabatha Dunlap, Jimmy Hanna and wife Merita, Derek Hanna and wife Bambi, Suzetta Glenn and Stephen Glenn and wife Debbie; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two sisters, Eva Dell Burns and Veda Smith of Piggott; one niece, Sue Holcomb; two nephews, Ronnie and Davy Crockett; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A celebration of her life will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Carl Haley Jr. officiating and burial in Piggott Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gary Holcomb, Dewey Holcomb, Alvin Butler, Jimmy Hanna, Davy Crockett and Alec Coomer. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Honorary pallbearers will include Janssen Coomer and Shannon Coomer.

Visitation will begin at 6 this evening.

Sherry Hinton

GRAPEVINE -- Sherry Hinton, 48, of Grapevine died Monday.

Survivors include her husband, Kerry Hinton of Grapevine; daughters, Wendy Edwards and Kara Hinton, both of White Hall; son, Luke Word of Pine Bluff; grandchildren, Alexis Blevins, Ally Edwards and Justin Morris; father and stepmother, Eugene and Eudean Rogers of Walnut Ridge; sisters, Deborah Rogers of Walnut Ridge and Sandi Ward of Bakersfield, Calif.; and brother, Ted Rogers of Walnut Ridge.

Graveside service will be today at 11 a.m. in Grapevine Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home of Sheridan.

Henry Ford Kennedy

RECTOR -- Henry Ford Kennedy, 85, of Rector passed away at his residence on Wednesday, April 11, 2007.

He was born Oct. 16, 1921, to the late Enoch and Vesta Boyd.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a journeyman electrician and worked at Entergy for many years. He was a deacon at Blooming Grove Church and a veteran of World War II, serving in the European and Pacific theaters. He was also a member of American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Enoch and Vesta Boyd; his wife, Arena Charlene Kennedy; four brothers, Archie, Bill, Terrell and Dee; and two sisters, Lillie and Dessie.

He is survived by two sons and their wives, Gary Ford Kennedy and Joan of Gaithersburg, Md., and Roger O. Kennedy and Jennifer of Clarksville; one daughter and her husband, Jane Ladonna Huffman and Clarence; 10 grandchildren, Michael Kennedy, Heather Huffman, Michele Romito, Cobi Hendrix, Chanda Anderson, Jon Huffman, Casey Kennedy, Amber Kennedy, Rudy Kennedy and Allyson Kennedy; and nine great-grandchildren, Sawyer Hendrix, Isabella Romito, Parker Hendrick, Cameron Kennedy, Molly Anderson, John Ford Hendrix, Sophie Romito, Carter Kennedy and Isabella Anderson.

Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Irby Funeral Home in Rector with Don Morris officiating. Burial will be in Cudd Cemetery in Marmaduke.

Visitation will be this evening from 6-8 at the funeral home.
