Annie Lee Haynes Benham
BLACK OAK — Annie Lee Haynes Benham, 33, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, at St. Bernards Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 19, 1974, at Paragould. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist belief.
Survivors include her husband, Stacy Benham of Black Oak; her mother, Favoretia Emmajean McKee of Gainesville; and one sister and her husband, Sue Ann and Michael McGuire of Jonesboro.
She was preceded in death by her father, Adron Devoe Haynes; a brother, Bobby Lee Haynes; and a niece, LaBradda LeeAnn Lowry.
A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Gregg Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Snow officiating. Burial will follow in Monette Memorial Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Harold Benham, Mark Reed, Sammy McKee, James Hill, Ronnie Hill and Charlie Hill.
Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 p.m. in Gregg Funeral Home at Monette.
The family requests lasting memorials be given to Arkansas Children’s Hospital or Lupus Foundation.
Noma Pauline Brock
TRUMANN — Noma Pauline Brock, 94, of Cabot died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, in Spring Creek Living Center at Cabot.
Mrs. Brock lived most of her lifetime at Trumann before moving to Cabot in 2005. She was a homemaker and a charter member of Freer Baptist Church at Trumann.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orvis Amon Brock; son, Druary Floyd Brock; two sons-in-law, Jimmy Wicker and Paul Pendergist; and her parents, Robert “R.A.” and Lucy Ryan Adams.
She is survived by three daughters, Shirley Thompson and Teresa Pendergist, both of Austin, Ark., and Lou Etta Wicker of Bay; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home at Trumann with the Rev. Mark Constant officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery
at Jonesboro.
Pallbearers will be Brock Wicker, Amon Pendergist, Lynn Scott, Matt Moon, Michael Adams Jr. and Gary Smith.
Visitation will be today from noon-2 p.m. in Thompson Funeral Home.
Billy Cavener III
CORNING — Billy Cavener III, 43, of Corning died Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, in Pocahontas.
Cavener was born Nov. 2, 1943, in Pocahontas. He was a machine operator at Mid-Continent Nail in Poplar Bluff. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Cavener was preceded in death by his mother, Nadine Cavener.
Survivors include his father, Bill Cavener Jr. of Corning; his stepmother, Jean Cavener of Corning; two brothers, Leon “Junior” Stacy and Larry Stacy, both of Corning; three sisters, Peggy McKinney of Naylor, Tanya Starkes of Jonesboro and Judy Laughlin of Fredricksburg, Va.; and Mel Jackson of Jonesboro.
Visitation will be from 6-8 tonight in Ermert Funeral Home at Corning.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with Chris Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Nelson Cemetery
at Reyno.
Wilburn Ray Comstock
MARKED TREE — Wilburn Ray Comstock, 79, of Marked Tree died Thursday, Oct. 25, at NEA Medial Center in Jonesboro.
He was a member of the Church of God and a retired police officer.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Swan Comstock of Marked Tree; a daughter, Betty Spurlin and her husband Larry of Memphis; sisters, Charlsie Garrison and her husband Homer of Marked Tree and Opal Armstrong of Middle River, Md.; grandson, Dean Rickvalsky and his wife Kara of Spring Hill, Tenn.; stepgrandson, Tyler Spurlin and his wife Natasha of Arlington, Tenn.; stepgranddaughter, Laura Crook and husband Mike of Atoka, Tenn.; great-grandson, Maddox Rickvalsky of Spring Hill; stepgrandchildren, Kyle and Madalyn Crook of Atoka; three wonderful brothers-in-law; and two wonderful sisters-in-law.
Comstock was interred Saturday in Marked Tree Cemetery. Patrick Tucker officiated.

Herman Edward Gairhan
TRUMANN — Herman Edward Gairhan, 85, of Trumann died Friday at the family residence.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann.
Marion ‘Dwight’ Hall Jr.
Feb. 20, 1973-Oct. 26, 2007
OSCEOLA — Marion “Dwight” Hall Jr., 34, of Osceola died at his home of leukemia Friday.
Born at Osceola, he was the son of the late Marion Hall Sr. of Osceola. Hall was a 1991 graduate of Osceola High School and a resident of Mississippi County for 17 years.
He was a truck driver employed by McLane Food Service and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Tonya Collins Hall; three daughters, Paige Collins, Brooke Collins and Kristen Hall, all of Osceola; his mother, Betty Hall Ford of Osceola; a brother, Jeffery Hall of Osceola; and two sisters, Melinda Hall of Jonesboro and Casey Inman of Damascus, Md.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. in Wilson Funeral Home at Osceola with Kenneth Bass officiating. Burial will follow in Garden Point Cemetery
at Etowah.
Visitation will take place tonight from 6-9 in the funeral home.
Evelyn ‘Rooster’ Kilbreth
MCDOUGAL, Mo. — Evelyn “Rooster” Kilbreth, 77, of McDougal died Friday, Oct. 26, at St. Louis.
She was born July 8, 1930, in Clay County.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lillie Bradshaw; son, Thomas Franklin Kilbreth; great-granddaughter, Randi Lynn Mooneyhan; four brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne Kilbreth of McDougal; two sons, G.S. Kilbreth of Puxico, Mo., and John Kilbreth of Gipsy, Mo.; six daughters, Carolyn Pence, Jannie Warbritten, Margaret Dobbins and Tina Burns, all of McDougal, Wonda Moore of Success and Teresa Mooneyhan of Knobel; brother, M.A. Bradshaw of Piggott; sister Imogene Smith of Rector; 20 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be today at 2 p.m. with Robert Moore officiating.
Visitation is today at noon in Ermert Funeral Home chapel.
Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery.
Charles Hermon Mofield
March 2, 1931-Oct. 26, 2007
MANILA — Charles Hermon Mofield, 66, of Manila died Friday at St. Bernards Medical Center.
Born in Mississippi County, he was the son of Herman Mofield and Leona Goldman.
Mofield was a handyman and a member of Church of Jesus Christ at Manila.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Wilma Blackwell.
He is survived by two brothers, Charles Albert Mofield of Dyess and James Mofield of Keiser; and six sisters, Betty Foster of Manila, Judy Smith of Harrisburg, Debbie Barnes of Manila, Sharon Sparks of Joiner, Cathy Stallings of Cave and Wanda McBride of Wilson.
Funeral services will be today at 2 p.m. in Church of Jesus Christ at Manila with Rudy Burrell and Keith Stokes officiating. Burial will be in Bassett Cemetery
at Bassett.

Eran Bartley Pickens
NEWPORT — Eran Bartley Pickens (Mrs. Fred M. Pickens Jr.) died peacefully at her home in Newport on Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, just days after her 93rd birthday.
Born at Austin, Texas, to Judge and Mrs. Thomas M. Bartley, she and her family moved to Waco where she attended Waco Public Schools. After graduation from Baylor University, she worked in a variety of capacities at the Episcopal Church in Waco and at Elliot & Eubank, a brokerage house.
On April 12, 1947, she married the dashing young attorney Fred M. Pickens Jr., and moved to his hometown of Newport where they built a home on the edge of Remmel Park. The great joy of her life was their only daughter, Eran, “little E,” whom she adored.
Mrs. Pickens became active in the life of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, teaching Sunday school, serving on the Vestry, presiding over the state Episcopal Churchwomen and chairing the Christmas Bazaar. The “sewing ladies” at the church became her longtime Tuesday commitment. She also served as a member of the board of the W.A. Billingsley Memorial Library.
An avid reader of the New Yorker and a wordsmith, she thrived on the New York Times crossword puzzles and was a producer of fine needlework. Eran was a master, above all else, of the art of friendship.
Over the years she amassed a legion of friends and admirers both in Newport and in her travels with Fred across the country and around the world. The people she loved became her special projects, whom she showered with her affection and with her keen insights.
She was a Grande Dame in the finest sense of that term, setting a standard in Newport for sparkling conversation and awareness of the larger world in which she lived.
Much like Katharine Hepburn in appearance and manner, she will be remembered for her keen intelligence, her compassion and wit and her commitment to the principles of her faith.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Fred M. Pickens.
She is survived by her daughter, Eran Pickens West; son-in-law, Britton Reed West; four grandchildren, Walter Britton West and wife Fiona Louppe West, Martha Eran West, Thomas Pickens West and Elizabeth Bartley West; and her most loving and dedicated caregivers, Mary Ferrell, Patty Franton, Marie Hall, Sandra Blevins, Future Lawson, Jean Weaver Young and June Massey.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in St. Paul Episcopal Church with interment in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. today in Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the W.A. Billingsley Memorial Library or St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Newport, 72112.
