Ray R. Casey

JONESBORO — Ray R. Ca­sey, 88, of Jonesboro died Sun­day, Dec. 30, 2007, at his home.

He was born to Arthur and Zula Casey in Craighead County on May 25, 1919. Ray married Mary Emery in 1937 and after 70 years of marriage the Lord carried him home to be with him.

He retired from Farmers Mill and Seed.

Ray loved his church and church family at Rock Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed his gardening and yard work. He also had a love for trail rides with his buddies in their horse and buggies.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Emery Casey of the home; sons, Jerry Casey and wife Margie of Winnsboro, La., and Jimmy Casey and wife Julie of Jonesboro; one sister, Margaret Ferguson of North Little Rock; his grandchildren, Brian Casey, Jennifer Stanage, Kim Parker and Dawn Arceneaux; two stepgrandchildren, Scott Allen and Jeff Hatcher; 10 great-grandchildren; and two step great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Zula Casey.

Active pallbearers will include Mike Parker, Jeff Hatcher, Richard Norris, Roy Rhea, Zack Stanage and Yogia Parnell. Honorary pallbearers will include Vernon Garner, Billy Arceneaux, Tim Bracken, Earl Bracken, James Ramer, Larry Morgan, Charlie Lingenfelter and Brian Casey.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home with Ray Broadaway officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 tonight in Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church, care of Bonnie Ramer, 2126 County Road 757, Jonesboro.

Mary Lou Griffin

JONESBORO — Mary Lou Grif­fin, 74, of Jonesboro died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, at Newport Health Care and Rehabilitation.

She was born at Lake City into the family of Frank and Anner Ruth Berg. She graduated from Lake City High School where she was valedictorian.

She was formerly employed for 29 years by Arkansas Glass Container, where she served as supervisor. She loved gardening, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Keith Bowman and Scott Arender; four grandchildren, Chris Bowman, Jeremy Bowman, Brant Arender and Broc Arender, all of Jonesboro; one great-grandchild, Kathryn Lee Bowman; and one brother, J.T. Berg of Jonesboro.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and An­ner Ruth Berg; her husband, Robert Griffin; and three sisters, Gladys Hood, Cleo Mc­Kinney and Eula Dunlap.

Active pallbearers will in­clude her sons and grandsons.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Ricky Rose officiating.

Visitation will be from 6-8 tonight in Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.

Anna V. Bowen Hudson

JONESBORO — Anna V. Bowen Hudson, 98, of Jonesboro died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007.

A member of West Memphis First United Methodist Church for 66 years, she previously served on the church staff and was a member of United Methodist Women. Hudson was formerly a bookkeeper for the City of West Memphis as well as West Memphis Utilities.

She was also a partner in the former Bowen Flying service of West Memphis.

She is survived by three sons, Joe R. Bowen of Memphis and wife Sara, Howard E. Bowen of At­lan­ta and wife Doris, and Ron­ald L. Bowen of Jonesboro and wife Sherry; six granddaughters, Angela Watson and Kristen George, both of Tulsa, Joanna Bowen of Mem­phis and Vickie Stoesen, Christy Pierce and Cara Bowen, all of Atlanta; two grand­sons, Tony Bowen of Mem­phis and Scott Bowen of At­lanta; seven great-granddaughters; and two great-grandsons.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday in Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Roller-Farmers Union Chapel. Burial services will be held at 12:30 p.m. in Ermen Cemetery at Osceola.

Memorials may be made to St. Bernards Hospice.

Maxine Snyder

JONESBORO — Maxine Sny­der, 86, of Jonesboro passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007, at Jonesboro.

She was born July 8, 1921, at Whizbang, Okla., to Oscar P. and Minnie E. Beeman.

Maxine graduated from Winfield (Kan.) High School in 1939 and went on to get an associate’s degree in teaching. She taught elementary school. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and New Hope United Methodist Church. She enjoyed dancing, playing the cello and watching television, especially “Little House on the Prairie.”

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hugh Snyder.

Maxine is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Hood and husband Kendall of Jonesboro, Kathleen Schroe­der and husband David and Carolyn Snyder of Tomball, Texas; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Viola Musquiz of Emporia, Kan., Marguerite Jehle of Oceanside, Calif., Carol Brummett of Little Rock and June Whitson of Jay, Okla.

Arrangements by Guardian North Funeral Home of Oklahoma City.

George Wesley Feezor

JONESBORO — George Wesley Feezor, 84, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at St. Bernards Medical Center.

He was born at Jonesboro on Oct. 22, 1923, to the late Elmer and Lula Feezor. He was a painter for Briggs Tractor and Supply and loved to watch TV and mow yards.

Feezor was a loving father and grandfather.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Thomas and Alma Feezor of Jonesboro; three daughters, Mary Lou Slatton, Martha Louise West and her husband Milburn and Amanda Lee Morgan, all of Jonesboro; one brother, Roy Feezor; three sisters, Mary Dooley of Paragould, Millie Dooley and Gladys Krout; 10 grandchildren; and 17 greatgrandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Beatrice Feezor.

A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Gregg Funeral Home Chapel at Jonesboro with Michael Broadaway officiating. Burial will follow in Macadonia Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday night from 5-7 in Gregg Funeral Home at Jonesboro.

Doreen C. Hadaway

CHEROKEE VILLAGE — Doreen C. Hadaway, 80, of Cherokee Village died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, at her residence.

Hadaway was born July 9, 1927, at Woodville, Ga., the daughter of William Welby Collins and Nancy Elizabeth Wages Collins. She was united in marriage to William R. Hadaway at Atlanta in 1952.

She moved to Cherokee Village in 1983 from Deerborn, Mich., and became very active in the community. She received the Governor’s Volunteer Excellence Award in 1988 from Gov. Bill Clinton and again in 1997 from Gov. Mike Huckabee.

She was a member of the Timely Club and a past president of both the Baptist Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the Eastern Ozarks Regional Hospital Auxiliary.

She was instrumental in helping to establish the Lifeline program in Fulton and Sharp counties and worked tirelessly for the program for many years.

She played piano for the Rev. Billy Graham’s Crusade services while in Venezuela. She was a member of Village Bible Church.

She is survived by her husband, William R. Hadaway of the home; son, Ernest Hadaway of Flint, Mich.; two daughters, Sheila Cary of Manassas, Va., and Susan of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren; and many other relatives and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday in Tri-County Funeral Home at Highland with the Rev. Joe Walton officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be tonight from 5-7 in the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland.

Margaret A. Huffman

ROCKFORD, Ill. — Margaret A. Huffman, 77, of Rockford, formerly of Belvidere, Ill., died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, in Nelson-Debes Subacute following a brief illness.

Born Sept. 5, 1930 at Lanive, the daughter of Charlie P. and Mazie King Bandy, she married Woodrow Holland at Lanive on Oct. 9, 1946. He died Oct. 21, 1989.

She worked as a packer for Green Giant for 10 years before retiring in 1983. She attended Arkansas schools.

She is survived by five children, Lannie Holland of Pocahontas, Viola Meyers of Poplar Grove, Ill., Debra (Larry) Persoon of Davis, Ill., and William (Susan) Holland and Donna Garcia, both of Belvidere; nine grandchildren, Ann (Ken) Ware, Shannon (Sophie) Holland, James (Amy) McIntyre, Susan (Ryan) McIntyre, Brandon Persoon, Erin Persoon, Amanda (Adam) Holland, Starla Holland and Jesus Garcia; seven great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Charles (Kathryn) Bandy of Machesney Park, Ill., and W.L. (Carol) Bandy of Marietta, Ga.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Ronnie and Larry Holland; and granddaughter, Tonya McIntyre.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home, 218 West Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere. Burial will be in Belvidere Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9-10:45 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

Jessie McGill

JONESBORO — Jessie McGill, 73, of Jonesboro went to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 4, 2007, at St. Bernards Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 13, 1934, to Opal and Wayne McGill. He lived in the Jonesboro area all of his life and retired from Hytrol. He was of the Pentecostal faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, James McGill; and sister, Ruby Chaney.

He is survived by his wife, Naomi McGill; son, Wayne McGill of Bono; daughter, Teresa Price of Jonesboro; three sisters, Jean McBride and Evelyn Chadwick of Bono and Louise Andrews of Brookland; eight grandchildren, Matthew and Shawn Price, Hollie Russom, Samatha, Alice, Nelesha, Nalaura and Joshwa McGill; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be today from 2-4 p.m. in Phillips Funeral Home at Paragould.

There will be a graveside service at 10 a.m. Monday in Nettleton Cemetery at Jonesboro with Wayne McGill officiating.
