Lee Roy Armstrong

REYNO — Lee Roy Armstrong, 72, died at his home Thursday, May 8.

He was born Aug. 26, 1935, at Reyno to the late Park Edward and Gurtrude Thompson Armstrong, and was a member of Reyno First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Luetta; a daughter, Michelle Colburn of Corning; two brothers, James and Bob Armstrong, both of Reyno; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Reyno First Baptist Church with Roger Hovis officiating. Burial will follow in Hite Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday in McNabb Funeral Home.

Tommy Brown

WYNNE — Tommy Brown, 62, of Wynne died Monday, May 12.

He was born April 23, 1946, at Cherry Valley to Elmer and Lillie Jackson Brown. He married Miss Joydene Duboise on Jan. 7, 1975. He worked in maintenance for 31 years at Mueller.

Survivors include his wife, Joydene; sons, Samuel Martin and Bobby Brown; daughters, Joy Ann Acord and Lillie Doler; two brothers; three sisters; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in Thompson-Wilson Wynne Funeral Home with interment in Bay Village Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 Friday evening in the funeral home.

Arthur Lee Carter

STEELE, Mo. — Arthur Lee Carter, 56, of Steele died May 7, 2008, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Lee Tate Carter; one son; 12 daughters; two brothers; two sisters; 22 grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. in Prince of Peace Church at Blytheville with burial in Memory Garden Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 5-8 p.m. in Wilson’s Blytheville Funeral Home.

Wanda L. Clements

WALNUT RIDGE — Wanda L. Clements, 82, of Walnut Ridge passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2008.

Born Dec. 12, 1925, at Ravenden, she was a homemaker and member of Imboden Church of Christ.

Survivors include a daughter, Diana Clements of El Paso, Texas; two granddaughters, Amy Wissler and Sarah Ragsdale, both of Austin, Texas; and a great-grandson, Aiden Thomas Ragsdale of Austin.

Graveside service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. with Wayne Herring officiating. Interment will be in Hope Cemetery under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home of Hoxie.

Visitation will be at graveside.

Howard Coursey

MONETTE — Howard Coursey, 69, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at his residence.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and are entrusted to Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Nina G. Dean

JONESBORO — Nina G. Dean, 87, of Jonesboro died Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at St. Bernards Medical Center at Jonesboro.

Arrangements will be announced by Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.

Edward H. Dent Sr.

ODESSA, Mo. — Edward H. “Bud” Dent Sr., 82, of Odessa, formerly of Jonesboro, died at his home Tuesday, May 13, 2008.

Bud was born on June 6, 1925, to Jack and Mary Hogan Dent at Marked Tree. He married Doris Gregory on April 15, 1946. Following Doris’ death in 1968, he married Jean Lou Maxwell on Aug. 22, 1970.

Bud was a retired freight agent for the St. Louis-San Francisco Railroad, known as the Frisco Line Railroad, now the Burlington Northern. He worked for the railroad from the 1950s until his retirement in 1984.

Bud attended Jonesboro Public Schools. He was a member of First Baptist Church at Odessa, where he was a deacon, Sunday school teacher and served in many other capacities.

Bud was the Champion coach for the Queen City Baseball League in 1969, and in the early ’70s he coached the Clinton Senior Babe Ruth League. Bud loved baseball and was a Royals fan, but he was loyal always to the Cardinals.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Dent of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and J.D. Bennett of Independence, Mo.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ed Jr. and Shelly Dent of Pryor, Okla., James and Angela Turner of Fairview Heights, Ill., and Billy and Mary Turner of Independence; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lee and Doris Dent, and Jerry and Ann Dent, all of Jonesboro; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Dent, on Aug. 18, 1968; two sisters, Lois Dent and Doris Orr; and four brothers, J.D. Dent Jr., Jim Dent, Ralph Dent and Ted Dent.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Oaklawn Cemetery in Jonesboro with the Rev. Steve Shepherd officiating. Langford-Bookout Funeral Home of Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday in Langford-Bookout Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Ave., Jonesboro.

Patty Lea Dunham

Feb. 9, 1958-May 13, 2008

PROCTOR — Patty Lea Dunham, 50, of Proctor died Tuesday at Memphis.

Born at Selmer, Tenn., she was employed in retail sales and of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her husband, Ricky Dunham; daughter, Brandy Bryant; sons, Brad and Brennen Bryant, all of Proctor; sister, Paula Qualls of Southaven, Miss.; brother, Phillip Qualls of Memphis; and parents, Baxter and Doris Barnett Qualls, both of Bartlett, Tenn.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in Wilson Funeral Home at Tyronza with burial in Tyronza Cemetery.

Visitation will be tonight from 5-8 in the funeral home.

Beverline Jamison

JONESBORO — Beverline Jamison, 52, of Jonesboro died Sunday, May 11, at Ridgecrest Health and Rehab.

Beverline was born at Osceola and moved to Jonesboro from Oakland, Calif., three years ago. She was a member of St. John Baptist Church.

Survivors include her parents, Roy Jones and Delcinia Williams; brothers, Floyd Williams and Marlow Williams, both of St. Louis, and James Treadway of Brickey; and several uncles, aunts and cousins.

Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday in Grace Chapel of Woodard Funeral Service with the Rev. Brandon Walker officiating.

No visitation is scheduled and interment will be private.

Daisy Ruffin Johnson

June 17, 1920-May 12, 2008

LEPANTO — Daisy Ruffin Johnson, 87, of Lepanto died Monday at her residence.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Charlyne and Robert Buckner of Lepanto and James H. and Ethel Cypress of Somerville, Tenn.; a brother, Robert Flagg of Lepanto; two grandchildren whom she raised, Tawuna and Jackie Cypress, both of Lepanto; seven other grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be today at 1 p.m. in Lepanto Church of Christ with burial in Pine Rest Cemetery under the direction of Wilson’s Osceola Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until service time in the church.

Harold McCrackin

PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. — Harold McCrackin, 76, of Portageville, formerly of the Jesup community, died at his residence Tuesday, May 13, 2008.

He was born Dec. 3, 1931, at Jesup, the son of Clifford and Dorothy Watson McCrackin.

Mr. McCrackin was a farmer and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors are nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in Higginbotham Chapel at Walnut Ridge with burial to follow in Lancaster Cemetery near Jesup.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services.
