Larry M. Blunk

TRUMANN — Larry M. Blunk, 66, of Trumann died Wednesday morning at the family residence.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann.

Lily Roma Burton

LITTLE ROCK — Lily Roma Burton, infant daughter of Drs. Brian and Jamie Ladd Burton, died Monday, Aug. 11, 2008, in a Little Rock hospital.

Survivors include her maternal grandparents, Danny and Karen Ladd of Jonesboro, and paternal grandparents, Dr. Jim and Suzi Burton, and Vicki and Steve Brooks, all of Hot Springs.

Funeral services will be private with burial in Greenwood Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.

Billie Joan Cox

MOUNTAIN HOME — Billie Joan Cox, 66, of Mountain Home passed away Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, at Baxter Regional Medical Center.

She was born at Grubbs Aug. 7, 1942, to Bill and Jewell McCoy. Mrs. Cox was a homemaker, a member of the First Baptist Church of Viola and attended the First Baptist Church of Mountain Home. She lived in Weiner before moving to Mountain Home five years ago.

She leaves behind her husband, Albert “Ray” Cox of the home; a son, Daniel Ray Cox of Bay; two daughters, Tammy Pate of Jonesboro and Vickie Ward of Mountain Home; a sister, Lou Kincaid of Jordan; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Etta Boyd; and two brothers, Wesley and Buck McCoy.

Funeral services will be held Friday in Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home at Weiner, beginning at 2 p.m. with Cecil Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be held this evening from 5-8 in the funeral home.

Pallbearers will include Jeremy Branyan, Chad Branyan, Anthony Cox, Chris Cox, Jim McCoy, Keith Bise and Travis Birdsong.

J C Hall

JONESBORO — J C Hall Sr., 78, of Jonesboro died Wednesday afternoon at his home.

Born in Mississippi, he had lived in Jonesboro for more than 50 years. He was the owner-operator of J C Hall Auto Sales and was known as a workaholic. He was of the Baptist belief.

He is survived by his sons, Jay Hall Jr., J.T. Hall and Jimmy Hall; daughters, Vickey Baney, Mary Dorton and Diane Wilson, all of Jonesboro; brothers, Jack Hall of Mississippi and Floyd Hall of Jonesboro; sisters, Christine Hoft, Imigene James, Wilma Trammell and Ellen Horne, all of Jonesboro; 19 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Jane Hall; and his parents, James V. and Minnie Gilley Hall.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10 in Emerson Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers will be Donnie Thomas, Teddy Hall, Ty Adams, Carl Braggs, Terry Ward and Darrol Vaughn.

Honorary pallbearers will be Owen Lovins, Dennis Long, Jonny Duffell, Keith Render, Gerald Gregory, James Holloway, Lewis O’Neal, Terry Gooden, Jim Turner Jr., Don Stevens and Hillard Holcomb.

Visitation will be this evening from 5-7 at the funeral home.

Zachary James

HARRISON — Zachary Tyler James, 22, of Harrison, formerly of Jonesboro, passed away Aug. 8, 2008, in a Little Rock hospital.

Survivors include his parents, Mark and Karen James of Jonesboro; brother, Jason James of Bono; sister, Madison James of Jonesboro; two sons, Landon and Braydon James of Harrison; stepgrandmother, Edith Childers of Jonesboro; and uncle, Lyndle James of Bono.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents George and Martha Venable of Bono.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today in Holt Memorial Chapel at Harrison with burial following in Maple Leaf Cemetery.

Emogee Johnson

NEWPORT — Emogee Johnson, 81, of Newport was born Sept. 29, 1926, and passed away Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008.

She was a homemaker, loving mother and of the Assembly of God faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Johnson; three sons, Benny Ray, Douglas and Ronnie Johnson; two daughters, Mary Pauline and Shelia; parents, Perry and Mittie Johnson Renfroe; and three brothers, Wilson, Billy and Homer.

Survivors include two sons, Gary Johnson of Trumann and Barry Johnson of Alexander; one daughter, Sandra Kay Johnson of Steele, Mo.; two brothers, Larry Renfroe of Cash and Floyd Renfroe of Kentucky; two sisters, Alice Watson of Smackover and Jane Renfroe of Mayflower; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in Faith Assembly of God Church with burial in Worley Cemetery.

Visitation will be this evening from 6-8 in Dillinger Funeral Home.

Nancy Lee McCamey

JONESBORO — Nancy Lee McCamey, 62, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, at her residence.

She was born Aug. 21, 1945, in Jonesboro to the late Benjamin and Wilton Marie Kent. She was a self-employed owner of a laundromat and a trucking business and a former G.E. employee. She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and the Eastern Star.

She was very active in her church, loved to sew and work in her flower garden, and loved her grandchildren very much.

Surviving are a daughter, Rebakah Lee Haan; husband, Dempsie McCamey; two grandchildren, Haylee Gabrielle Haan and Jacob Isaiah Haan, all of Jonesboro; a stepdaughter, Cheryl Spano of Oklahoma City; two stepsons, Roger McCamey of Oklahoma City and Douglas McCamey of Leachville; two half sisters, Bennie Wheeler of Ridgecrest, Calif., and Mary Lou Kent of Newark.

She was also preceded in death by a half-sister, Ann Thornborrow.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Gregg Funeral Home Chapel of Jonesboro with the Rev. Dr. Jo Ann Barker officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be held this evening in Gregg Funeral Home at Jonesboro from 5-7.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Jacob Haan, Jeremy Williams, Vince Piercy, Roger McCamey and Jonathan Lindsey.

W.D. Mitchell

TRUMANN — W.D. Mitchell, 83, of Trumann died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, at the family residence.

Born in and a lifetime resident of Trumann, he was a retired factory worker and of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by one son, Chamlous Dewayne Mitchell; great-grandson, Gary Henry Jr.; one sister, Maxine Haney; and his parents, Thomas and Bertie Wilson Mitchell.

Survivors include his wife, Justene Mitchell of the home; two daughters, Linda Williams and Diane Brewer, both of Trumann; one son, Alvin Mitchell of Trumann; three sisters, Katherine Ellington, Headie Mitchell and Alma Lane, all of Conway; two brothers, Don Mitchell of Black Fish Lake and Thomas Mitchell of Caraway; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday morning at 10 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann with Dr. Tad Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Springs Cemetery at Harrisburg.

Pallbearers will be Larry McAnally, Robert McCaa, Gary Henry, Jason Cook, Jordan Heavener and Jimmy Davis.

Visitation will be this evening from 5-7 in Thompson Funeral Home at Trumann.

Flossie Marie Taylor

JONESBORO — Flossie Marie Taylor, 52, of Jonesboro, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Pontiac, Mich., on June 16, 1956, to Robert and June Keyes. Ms. Taylor was a homemaker, of the Pentecostal belief, a member of the Northeast Arkansas Humane Society, a doll collector and loved arts and crafts.

She leaves behind her sons, James Moody Jr., Kenneth Moody, Tommy Moody and Branville Moody, all of Jonesboro; daughter, Hope Waters of Jonesboro; stepdaughters, Rena Escue of Jonesboro and Beverly McGinnis of Pocahontas; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; four brothers and three sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, a sister and her husband, Avie Taylor.

Funeral services will be held Friday in Roller-Farmers Union Chapel, beginning at 10 a.m., with Bobby Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in Trinity Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Lasting memorials can be made to the Northeast Arkansas Humane Society.

Homer Eldon Barnett

POCAHONTAS — Homer Eldon Barnett, 54, of Pocahontas, son of Elvia Martin Barnett and Nelda Hightower Barnett Pully, died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008, at his residence.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Barnett.

He was in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Division from 1975 to 1979. He was also a welder and welder operator most of his life and a saw miller.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Harlene Barnett of the home; two children, David Martin Barnett and wife Brandi, and Christy Barnett Hibbard and husband David, all of Pocahontas; three grandchildren, Callie Dawn Barnett, Ethan Zane Barnett and Mikayla Wittney Hibbard; his mother and father, Elvia Barnett and Nelda Hightower Pully; two brothers, Timothy Allen Barnett Sr. and Ronald Martin Barnett; four sisters, Connie Berry, Mary Thomas, Melissa Barnett and Lisa Van Kirk; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in Cox-Waymon Funeral Home Chapel at Pocahontas with burial following in Maynard Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday evening from 5-8 at the funeral home.
