Mrs. Eggers
Funeral services for Mrs. Glenda Christine Eggers, 67, of Monette, will be this afternoon at 2:30 at the Monette Church of Christ, with Chuck Pike and Shawn Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Monette Cemetery, under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Baldridge, Tommy Carroll, Ricky Copeland, Ear Read, Byron Sparkman and Junior Palmer.
Mrs. Eggers died Sunday at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker and a member of the Monette Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl and Will Tenison, and by one brother.
Survivors include her husband, Noel Eggers of the home; two daughters, Terri Higginbotham of Monette and Pam Holden of Lake City; four sisters, Mary DePriest and Oma Dunham, both of Paragould, Wanda Chappel of Jonesboro and Nina West of Mountain Home; and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to the Monette Church of Christ.
Mrs. Smith
Mrs. Edna Lee Smith, 85, of Jonesboro, died Monday at her home.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
Mrs. Brown
Mrs. Katie Brown, 88, of Starkville, Miss., a former resident of Pocahontas, died Monday at Scribner's Personal Care Home in Starkville. She was born in St. Louis and was a public school teacher in Pocahontas.
Surviving are one son, Dr. Larry G. Brown of Starkville, and two grandchildren. Her husband, Edgar Brown, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10 in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home in Pocahontas. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Gardens in Pocahontas.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Childers
Samuel J. Childers, 80, of Jonesboro, died Sunday at the Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center in Jonesboro. He had lived in Jonesboro most of his life and was a member of the Cornerstone United Methodist Church. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and was a retired accountant.
Surviving are his wife, Vera Childers of the home; two sons, Nelson Allen Childers of Brinkley and Samuel David Childers of Scottsdale, Ariz.; three daughters, Linda Sharon Nash of O'Fallon, Mo., Sara Clark of Fayetteville and Diane Watson of Mesa, Ariz.; one brother, Wilgus Childers of Jonesboro; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10 in the chapel of Gregg Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with Rev. Tommy Toombs officiating. Burial will be in the Jonesboro Memorial Park.
Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
The family requests that persons wishing to leave a lasting memorial consider a charity of the donor's choice.
White
Funeral services for Alvin Jackson White, 89, of Marmaduke, who died Sunday at his home, will be at 2 this afternoon at the Providence Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Waymon Holt and Rev. Eddie Gene Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery
at Lafe, under the direction of Heath Funeral Home of Paragould.
He was a retired railroad employee and was a deacon at the Providence Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as chairman of the cemetery committee for many years. He was also a singer with the White Quartet.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bobie White of Marmaduke; four sons, Dewey White of Marmaduke, Don White of Mabelvale, Doyle White of House Springs, Mo., and Jimmy White of Paragould; five daughters, Murtie Cobb of Ashdown, Effie Hagood of Paragould, Rachel Hilyard of Hillsborough, Mo., Velma Seay of Dudley, Mo., and Laverne Wren of St. Louis; one brother, Lloyd White of Paragould; two sisters, Leona Vangilder of Dexter, Mo., and Geneva Wood of Lafe; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Bittorf
Johann Christoph Bittorf, 17, an exchange student from Germany living in Paragould, died Saturday as the result of a traffic accident in Paragould.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Mitchell Funeral Home of Paragould.
Lowe
Roy William Lowe, 75, of Cave City, died Sunday at the Cave City Nursing Home. Born at Honorville, Ala., he owned and operated Lowe's Used Cars in Evening Shade for many years and was a member of the Matlock Road Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Opal Hawkins Lowe of the home; two sons, Roy L. Lowe of Evening Shade and Robert W. Lowe of St. Louis; a daughter, Gereld Eva Herd of Luverne, Ala.; a brother, Aubrey Lowe of Detroit, Mich.; a sister, Francis Youngblood of Westland, Mich.; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ahnawake Ettawonda Lowe.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 1 at Matlock Road Church of God in Cave City, with Richard Hawkins and Keith Hurst officiating. Burial will follow in Evening Shade Cemetery
under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers will be Travis Mears, Tony Taylor, Sonny Campbell, Randy Lowe, Corey Beck, Jason Beck, Marty Beck and Ryan Beck.
Miss Snow
Miss Glenna Snow, 86, a resident of Lawrence Hall Nursing Center in Walnut Ridge, died Sunday at the nursing center.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Higginbotham Funeral Service of Walnut Ridge.
Emmert
Charles H. Emmert, 79, of Blytheville, died Saturday at Beverly Health Care in Blytheville. Born in Hamilton Ohio, he was a Baptist.
He has no immediate survivors.
Graveside services have been scheduled for 11 this morning at Memory Gardens Cemetery
in Blytheville, with Rev. Leonard Swihart officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home of Blytheville.
Mrs. Austin
Mrs. Elma Austin, 86, of Harrisburg, died Monday at Woodbriar Nursing Home in Harrisburg. Born in Harrisburg, she was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Harrisburg.
Survivors include three sons, Troy Austin of Abbotsford, Wis., Bobby Austin and Timmy Joe Austin, both of Harrisburg; a daughter, Betsy Davis of Harrisburg; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Austin, and by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 10 Thursday morning at Jackson's Harrisburg Funeral Home chapel, with Rev. Captain Lovell officiating. Burial will follow in Harrisburg City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 Wednesday afternoon until 9 that evening at the funeral home.
Smith
S. Wiley Smith, 81, of Jonesboro, died Monday morning at his residence following a lengthy illness.
Born in Pine Bluff, Smith lived in Memphis before moving to Jonesboro in 1947. He was retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone with 35 years of service. He was a member of the Northeast Arkansas Experimental Aircraft Association and the Southwestern Bell Telephone Pioneers. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder, Sunday school teacher, a member of the choir and served on the property and finance committee.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Bynum Smith of the home; one son, Steven Smith of Jonesboro; four daughters, Sherry Carr of Olive Branch, Miss., Valerie Miller of Redmond, Wash., Charmain Smith of Fort Worth, Texas, and Leslie Stevenson of Jonesboro; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at the First Presbyterian Church of Jonesboro, with Dr. Steven Voris and Rev. Robert Norvell officiating. Burial will follow in Kellers Chapel Cemetery, with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers include Dr. Joe T. Wilson, Vern Drake, Dean Roach, Huey Rushing, Mitch Brand and Doyle Roach.
Honorary pallbearers Brian Davidson, Dick Moore, Bill Koontz, Frank Campbell, Melinda Ogletree and Tomye Moore.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 in the afternoon until 8 in the evening at the funeral home.
For lasting memorials, the family ask that consideration be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, or to St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center Hospice Program.
Mrs. Wright
Mrs. Opal Wright, 91, of Paragould died Monday. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Heath Funeral Home of Paragould.
Mrs. Smith
Mrs. Margaret Smith, 85, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., formerly of Harrisburg, died Sunday at the Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro.
Born in Greenfield, she was a former school teacher for five years and had worked at the Air Force base in Gulfport, Miss., during World War II. While living in Harrisburg, she owned and operated Margaret's Beauty Shop and worked for Social Services for 17 years, retiring as a service specialist. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Harrisburg where she taught Sunday School for many years.
There are no immediate survivors. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Smith, and a brother.
Funeral services will be held at 10 Wednesday morning in the chapel of Jackson's Harrisburg Funeral Home, with the Rev. Captain Lovell officiating. Burial will follow in the Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 this evening at the funeral home.
