Hilda Branham

COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. — Hilda Branham, 63, of Collierville, Tenn., passed away Saturday.

Survivors include her mother, Arlene McGonigal of Walnut Ridge; daughter, Terri Forte of Collierville; a grandson, Collin Watkins of Collierville; sisters, Linda Mann of Walnut Ridge, Eva Davidson of Atoka, Tenn., and Glenda Smith of Nixa, Mo.; brothers, Paul L. Young of Frankfort, Ind., Rick McGonigal of Houston, Texas, and Gary McGonigal of Portia.

Service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Bryan Chapel. Interment will be in Strangers Home Cemetery with Bryan Funeral Home of Hoxie in charge.

Visitation will be this evening from 6-8.

Albert William Burt

Jan. 26, 1950- Aug. 16, 2008

WILSON — Albert William Burt, 58, of Wilson died Saturday at SMC Regional Medical Center.

He was born at Whitton to Irene Burt, now of Wilson, and the late William Jasper Burt and was a retired tugboat first mate. He served the Army in Vietnam and received the Purple Heart.

Other survivors include his sisters, Annie Hinson of Payneway, Dottie Burt of Wilson and Tammy Campbell of Lepanto; and brothers, Harold Burt of Fort Smith, David Burt of Bassett, Donald Burt, Michael Burt and Bobby Burt, all of Wilson, and Mark Burt of Keiser.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. in Wilson’s Osceola Funeral Home with burial in Bassett Cemetery.

Earlene Futrell

PARAGOULD — Earlene Futrell of Paragould died Sunday at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center.

Arrangements are incomplete with Heath Funeral Home.

Louise Elizabeth Gooch

April 3, 1922- Aug. 16, 2008

SARDIS, Miss. — Louise Elizabeth Gooch, 86, of Sardis, Miss., died Saturday.

She was born at Alicia to the late William H. and Lillian Curs Noblin.

Survivors include her daughters, Jo Ann Hinds of Sardis and Carolyn Hix of Austin, Texas; son, William Michael Gooch of Trumann; sisters, Willene Miller of Texarkana and Betty Gobbell of Catula, Ga.; brothers, Don Noblin of Cardwell, Mo., and T.L. Noblin of Jonesboro; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services will be this afternoon at 1 in Sardis Church of Christ with burial in Jonesboro Memorial Park under the direction of Ray-Nowell Funeral Home of Sardis.

Sherman Franklin Johnson

PARAGOULD — Sherman Franklin Johnson, 76, of Paragould died Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Mr. Johnson was born Feb. 18, 1932, in Paragould. He was retired from the Arkansas Highway Department and a member of Grace United General Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Tim and Cynthia Johnson, and Mark Johnson, all of Sacramento, Calif.; three stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Earl Wilkins of Paragould, Elgina and Gary Bennett of Walls, Miss., and Teresa and Bobby Brown of Paragould; one brother, Bob Johnson of Hoxie; and one sister, Pat Hall of Magalia, Calif.

He is also survived by one brother-in-law, Jack Copeland of Paragould; six sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Ruby White of Morris Chapel, Tenn., Era Secrease of Harrisburg, Vera and Ray Martinez of Stockton, Calif., Sylvia Moss of Buncomb, Ill., Carol Copeland and Earlene Copeland, both of Paragould; two granddaughters, Jaquline and Angela Johnson, both of Sacramento; two stepgrandsons and stepgranddaughter-in-law, Cody Brown of Paragould and Josh and Susan Bennett of Osceola; two stepgranddaughters and stepgrandsons-in-law, Stephanie and Chad Crigler of Jonesboro, and Sarah and Randy Griffin of Kaiser; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Johnson; his parents, Leslie and Esther Johnson; and by one sister, Katheline Adams

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday in Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Glen Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the New Friendship Cemetery.

Visitation will be this evening from 6-9 at Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould.

Charles Morphis

JONESBORO — Charles Morphis, 92, of Jonesboro died Monday at his residence.

Arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced by Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Danny Wilbert Nicley

MARMADUKE — Danny Wilbert Nicley, 54, passed away Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center.

He was born March 22, 1954, at Rector to Wilbert and Naydean Meddress Nicley. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Rana Nicley; one son and daughter-in-law, Thax and Donna Turner of Collierville, Tenn.; one daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Todd Cooper of Marmaduke; two grandsons, Conner and Chance Turner; his mother, Naydean Nicley of Gainesville; three sisters, Kathy Coffel of Rector, Myra Crow of Pocahontas and Terry Greer of Elizabeth; and two brothers, Davey Nicley of Rector and Wil Nicley of Paragould.

Preceding him in death was his father, Wilbert Nicley.

There will be a memorial service Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Center Hill Chapel at Phillips Funeral Home with Kevin Edgar officiating.

In Lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Kenneth E. Sutton

JONESBORO — Kenneth E. Sutton, 54, of Jonesboro died Monday morning at St. Bernards Medical Center.

Born in Morristown, N.J., Ken lived in Jenks, Okla., before moving to Jonesboro in 1991. He was a graduate of the University of Mississippi- Jackson and worked several years as a certified registered nurse anesthetist before becoming disabled.

Ken was a U.S. Army veteran and enjoyed cooking. He was a Methodist and was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth E. Sr. and Shirley Dilley Sutton.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Sutton of the home; one son, Kenny Sutton of Jonesboro; one daughter, Krista Sutton of Jonesboro; one sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Harry McDonald of Melbourne, Fla.; and one grandchild, Payton Hooton of Jonesboro.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday evening at 7 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Arthur Bradley officiating. Burial will be private.

Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6-7, at the funeral home.

For lasting memorials, the family asks that consideration be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Tanner Coltan Tomasello

JONESBORO — Tanner Coltan Tomasello, age 2 months and 11 days, son of Edgar Tomasello and Timberly Horton, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock.

A family gathering will be held Saturday from 2-5 p.m. at the family home, 4201 Richardson Drive, Jonesboro.

Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements.

Thomas Gerald Tuggle

Nov. 3, 1926-Aug. 18, 2008

CAVE CITY — Thomas Gerald “T.G.” Tuggle, 81, of Cave City died Monday.

He was the son of Carlie and Elsie Mobley Tuggle and a World War II Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Lindley Tuggle; children, Jerry Tuggle of Kilburn, La., Tommy Tuggle of Mound City, Kan., Christy Rotton of Cave City, Randall Tuggle and Kathy Livingston of Lake Village; brothers, R.H. Tuggle, Bobby Tuggle and Donald Tuggle; and sisters, Sylvia Breeden, Carlene Waddell and Francis Hughes.

Services will be Wednesday morning at 10 in Qualls Cave City Funeral Home with burial in Parsley Cemetery.

Visitation will be tonight from 6-8.

Peggy Marie Bishoff

JONESBORO — Mrs. Peggy Marie Bishoff, 80, of Jonesboro, formerly of Leachville, died Tuesday at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born at Paragould, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Linnie Marie Underwood Olive and had lived most of her life in Leachville and was a longtime member of the Leachville First Baptist Church.

She had been a Jonesboro resident for the past 10 years and was a member of the Walnut Street Baptist Church in Jonesboro.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers.

She is survived by daughters, Peggy Duffel and Sherry Bennett and husband Ron, all of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Ginger Bates, Rex Keith, Nick Bennett and Jordan Bennett; and great-grandchildren, Christina Bramucci, Christopher Bramucci, Natatlie Bates, Madison Elizabeth Keith and Lauryn McKenzie Keith.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the Howard Funeral Chapel at Leachville with Dr. Glen Putman officiating. Burial will follow in Leachville Cemetery.

Honored to serve as active pallbearers are family members Ron Bennett, Nick Bennett, Jordan Bennett, Rex Keith, Daniel Bates and Christopher Bramucci.

The family will receive visitors Thursday evening from 6-8 in the funeral home.

The family has requested memorials be made to the Music Ministry of the Walnut Street Baptist Church in Jonesboro.
