Tracy Ann Emery Exum

HARRISBURG — Tracy Ann Emery Exum, 29, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, at Harrisburg.

She was born Oct. 24, 1978, at Jonesboro. She was a homemaker and member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Harrisburg.

Tracy was a very devoted mother and her children were her entire life. She was always quick with a smile and a hug to let you know that everything would be all right. She was a very loving daughter and sister, a kind and gentle spirit and a true friend to all those who knew her.

She loved the outdoors and loved to dove and turkey hunt with her dad. They say that everything happens for a reason and we know that God needed a precious little girl in heaven. Tracy, your battle is over and we will miss you so very much but will see you again someday. And yes sweetheart, you will always be “Daddy’s Little Girl.”

Surviving are her children, Blair Exum and Ty Exum of Harrisburg; her parents, Rick and Tonya Emery of Trumann; grandparents, Paul and Bertina Emery of Walcott, and Julia O’Connor of Jonesboro; a brother and his wife, Brian and Jennifer Emery of Jonesboro; a niece, Alexis Emery, and a nephew, Landon Emery, both of Jonesboro; an aunt, Paulette Mobley of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; and several other aunts and uncles.

She was also preceded in death by a grandmother, Mavis Emery; a grandfather, John O’Connor; and an uncle, Joe Mobley.

The service will be private.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.

Earlene Grady Futrell

PARAGOULD — Earlene Grady Futrell, 85, of Paragould died Sunday, Aug. 17, at Paragould.

Graveside services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in Linwood Cemetery under the direction of Heath Funeral Home.

Memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or First United Methodist Church of Paragould.

Nancy Chance Hunter

JONESBORO — Nancy Chance Hunter, 54, of Jonesboro passed away at her home on Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, of natural causes.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Langford-Bookout Funeral Home is assisting the family with these arrangements.

Troy L. Kelems

CARAWAY — Troy L. Kelems, 51, of Caraway died Wednesday at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Glenda Stallings Kelems of the home.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Lillian McLaughlin

POCAHONTAS — Lillian Mc­Laughlin, 74, passed away Monday, Aug. 18, at Five Rivers Medical Center’s ER.

She was born April 30, 1934, at Seboygan, Wis.

Survivors include her husband, Charles McLaughlin of Pocahontas; a son, John Najjar of Hammond, Ind.; and a granddaughter, Sabrina Najjar, also of Hammond.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. today in McNabb Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Gardens with Charles Ring officiating.

Visitation will be this morning from 9-10 in McNabb Funeral Home Chapel.

Florine O’Roark

MARKED TREE — Florine O’Roark of Marked Tree died Aug. 20 in Little Rock.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete but will be announced by Murphy Funeral Home of Marked Tree.

John S. Williams

BLYTHEVILLE — Dr. John S. Williams died unexpectedly at Blytheville on Monday, Aug. 18, 2008.

He was born Dec. 20, 1960, to Rosemary and James M. “Mac” Williams Jr. John graduated from Blytheville High School in 1979. He was a varsity football player, member of the golf team and member of the National Honor Society, graduating ninth in his class.

John graduated from Hendrix College at Conway in 1983. He graduated from the University of Arkansas Medical School at Little Rock in 1987. John completed his medical residency in Jonesboro.

He began his private medical practice in his hometown of Blytheville in 1990. Dr. Williams was frequently lauded for being such a compassionate physician. He had been instrumental in establishing the Great River Charitable Clinic of Mississippi County. He was to have served as the medical director of the clinic.

Dr. Williams was a well-loved and respected member of his local community. John was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution.

John was preceded in death by his mother, Rosemary Johnston Williams, on Aug. 14, 2008.

John is survived by his children, Johnston Charles Allen Williams and Emily Elizabeth Causey Williams. He also leaves his father, James M. “Mac” Williams; sister, Alice Causey Williams Nunn of Brownsville, Tenn.; and brother, James M. “Mac” Williams III of Gig Harbor, Wash.

Visitation will be at First United Methodist Church of Blytheville this evening from 5-7 in the sanctuary.

A memorial service will follow Friday morning at 10:30 in the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be designated to the Great River Charitable Clinic of Mississippi County; the Lord’s Ranch Childrens’ Counseling Center in Blytheville; or First United Methodist Church of Blytheville.

Cobb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Glenn D. Bell

TRUMANN — Glenn D. Bell, 58, of Trumann died Tuesday, Aug. 19, at St. Bernards Medical Center at Jonesboro.

He was born at Trumann and had lived in Trumann for the last nine years, moving there from South Elgin, Ill.

He was a floor installer with the Coleman Floor Co., was active in the Chicago District Council of Carpenters Union Local 1185 for 30 years and was of the Methodist faith.

Mr. Bell was preceded in death by parents, John W. Bell and Donna Waddle Bell; and by one brother, Charles W. Bell.

He is survived by his wife, Veronica Rose Bell of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Christine Marie and Brad Lee Dye of Jonesboro; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael David and Michelle Marie Bell of South Elgin; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia Ann and Phillip Patterson of Trumann, and Gloria Jean and Steven Hecht of Jonesboro; one brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Carrie Bell of Trumann; and three grandchildren, Halie Marie, Cecelia Rose and Jordan Lee.

Memorial services will be this evening at 7 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home at Trumann with the Rev. Thomas Hargrove officiating. Burial will be private.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Bell, Sean Bell, Darrick Stevens, Jeff Stevens, Jamie Stevens, David Brown, Wesley Brown, Paul Damico, Leon Damico and Vincent Tellone.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 before services in the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Winthrop Rockefeller Cancer Research Center at Little Rock

Cyril ‘Bert’ J. Bertram

CHEROKEE VILLAGE — Cyril “Bert” J. Bertram, 74, of Cherokee Village, formerly of Fond Du Lac, Wis., died Aug. 19 at Arkansas University Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Lynda Bertram of Cherokee Village; and was the loving father of two daughters, Jama (Dave) Flagstad, Jennifer (Gary) Meis; and one son, Jim (Juanita) Ancil. He was the wonderful grandpa of nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and has three sisters.

A private immediate service was held Aug. 21, with cremation following.

Arrangements are with Heath Funeral Home of Highland.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Lavern Maurine Byers

Jan. 16, 1919-Aug. 21, 2008

ASH FLAT — Lavern Maurine Byers, 89, of Ash Flat died Thursday at Ash Flat.

Mrs. Byers was born at Hardy, the daughter of Levi Andrew Smith and Gracie Louann Powell Smith. She was united in marriage to Lloyd Byers on June 4, 1938, at Hardy.

She was a member of First Baptist Church at Cherokee Village for many years. Lavern loved to crochet, read and loved spending time with her children and their families.

She is survived by three daughters, Shirley B. Pirtle of Covington, Tenn., Peggy Higginbottom of Chesterfield, Mo., and Daphine Rolley of Cherokee Village; one brother, Levi Donald Smith of Plainfield, Ill.; one sister, Verba Kellett of Little Rock; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother, Delbert Smith.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m. in Tri-County Funeral Home at Highland with Thomas Pirtle officiating. Burial will follow in Baker Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Rogers, Lance Humphries, Charles Heil, Gregg Neely, Trace Vollmer, Sam Konrad, Greyson Vollmer, Kealeb Rogers and Billy Heil.

Visitation will be today from 4-8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland.
