Audrey Knighton
CHEROKEE VILLAGE — Audrey Hauptfuehrer Knighton, 79, of Cherokee Village died Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, at her residence in Cherokee Village.
She was the daughter of the late William Hauptfuehrer and the late Helen Siebert Hauptfuehrer.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Knighton of Cherokee Village; daughter, Lynne Corrao of Joliet, Ill.; sister, Doris Enas of Lofland, Nev.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Gary Michael Erath.
Arrangements are being handled by Heath Funeral Home of Highland.
Georgia Mahon
JONESBORO — Georgia Broadaway Mahon, 80, of Jonesboro died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008.
She lived her entire life in Jonesboro. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro and an active member of the Phebean Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, J.C. Mahon; and her parents, Gordon and Eliza Pierce Broadaway.
She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Janet and Steve Merriman of Jonesboro, and Marcia and David Griffith of Coppell, Texas; two granddaughters, Katie Merriman Hoehn of Lafayette, Colo., and Jessica “J.J.” Griffin of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law, Willis and June Broadaway; and one niece and three nephews, Steve Broadaway, Jeff Mahon, Vince Mahon, and Lisa Trevathan.
Graveside committal will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Dr. Bruce Tippit will officiate. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. in First Baptist Church.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Phebean Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church, Max and Betty Alexander, Dores and Janice Griffin, Leon and Marguerite Kirksey, Mona Mathis, Marcia Patton, and Roy and Martha Secrease.
Visitation will be tonight from 5-7 in the funeral home.

JONESBORO — Roy Lee Walker, 68, of Jonesboro died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008, at his home.
He was born at Paragould and had lived in Jonesboro for 20 years, moving here from Paragould. He was a retired brick mason for 23 years and was working as a custodian for Jonesboro Public Schools for 14 years. He was of the nondenominational belief.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Rachel Kee Walker; and one stepson, V. Wayne Free.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Walker of the home; two daughters, Katherin Spargo and husband Joey of Hoxie and Barbara Mahan and husband Shawn of Jonesboro; two brothers, Jerry Walker of Jonesboro and Willie Walker of Paragould; one sister, Ola Mosby of Paragould; five grandchildren, Crystal Davis, Ray Shelton, Mary Parks, Joe Spargo and Maverick Parks; and one great-grandson, Kenneth Davis.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Emerson Memorial Chapel with the Revs. Marvin Cline, Butch Parks and Ray Shelton officiating. Burial will be at Mount Zion Cemetery
with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.
Active pallbearers will be Michael Davis, Will Walker, Paul Parks, Shawn Mahan, Mike Kee and Joey Spargo.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Tuesday in Emerson Memorial Chapel.
Mildred L. Whitmire
BLACK ROCK — Mildred L. Whitmire, 94, of Black Rock passed away Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, at St. Bernards Medical Center at Jonesboro.
She was born Aug. 15, 1914, at Alicia, and united in marriage to Kenneth Whitmire.
Survivors include a son, Bobby Whitmire of West Plains, Mo.; daughter, Linda Johnson of Black Rock; four grandsons; one granddaughter; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruby Light of Walnut Ridge.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Bryan Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 in the chapel.

MCCRORY — Gary Raymond Dennis, 58, formerly of Colt, died Saturday at McCrory.
He was born at Wynne, the son of Wilson and Helen Fanning Dennis.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his daughter, Michelle Androff of Heber Springs; mother, Helen Dennis of Colt; brothers, Bobby Dennis of Colt and John Dennis of Lake City; sisters, Sandra Bryan of Forrest City and Pat Mitchell of Wynne; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Loughridge Cemetery
at Colt. Thompson-Wilson Wynne Funeral Home, (870) 238-9400, has charge of arrangements.
